Amazing place with a lot of tasty items made with high-quality, organic ingredients. This place has amazing decoration inside and also a large, lovely patio you can sit orwork at outside. Also, this place has a menu for dogs too, which I found really cute! (see the attached photos)
Loved our brunch at The Flower Pot Cafe and Bakery! First of all, what a great atmosphere. Abundant indoor and outdoor dog friendly seating. Lots of books, board games, and puzzles. The perfect, cozy coffee shop vibe. The food and drinks were great too! The white mocha and iced caffe mocha are very tasty. The tuna melt and breakfast Sammy are nice too, very filling. They even have a pup menu and ours loved the salmon lox cut. Highly recommend!
Visiting from Memphis, and this place was cute from the outside I had to stop and try it. The coffee was amazing, the sandwiches we ordered were great- just huge so I got full really fast. Ganon was the guy behind the counter who took out order and he was adorable in every way. Such a cute vibe here. It's probably my favorite place I have been to so far on our trip
Love the 'hippie' vibes. Lots of flower pots everywhere, it's different and unique, unlike the modern coffee shops that look the same and lack character. Has indoor and spacious outdoor seating, perfect for people watching, and just taking a breather. Great coffee as well, had their vanilla latte with oat milk. A little pricey, around $10 with tip, but it's fine.
The space: As of my review in January, they have plenty of seats so it never felt overcrowded like at every other place in the area. Very dog friendly with a whole menu for them. Really neat decor too. The food: I have been gluten free for 15 years and this blueberry muffin was the best I’ve ever had!!!! Yes, the gigantic one in the picture is the gluten free one! Also the mocha espresso was amazing, they use special chocolate and you can tell. Not overly sweet. I’d pass on the cappuccino though, pretty sour
Great coffee and sandwich spot in La Jolla Village directly across from the Vons on Fay. Great atmosphere, plenty of outdoor seating and the food is fresh and delicious. Great spot to bring your laptop and get some work done. Definitely recommend!
This place was highly recommended to me, and it didn’t disappoint. The breakfast burrito supreme was incredible, and the granola parfait was equally delicious. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area. I highly recommend this place!
Adorable local spot for breakfast, lunch and coffee. Tons of indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff and atmosphere. Food is good. Recommend house made chai, breakfast burrito, and parfait, but all options are solid.
The zen vibe of this cafe is unique and comforting. The turkey sandwich with fruit was fantastic! This is the perfect restaurant if you’re looking for fresh and healthy food, surrounded by a bohemian ambience.

Lovely restaurant with a treasure trove of objects to keep you busy. The portions were generous and delicious.
This was a fun location. Something interesting to look at everywhere you turn. The cappuccino was smooth. The salmon bagel was very good. Not a hint a fishiness from the salmon. The outdoor seating was comfortable and it was a great place to talk.
The flower pot has kept the vibe and menu of the Pannikin to a great extent. Their Mexican hot cocoa made up with the ground. Ibarra chocolate is still a favorite. I wish they didn't charge so much for non-dairy milk and they really need to add more. Vegan options to their muffin and menu. Disappointing not to see that. That said lots of eclectic seating inside and out. Weekends are extremely busy if you order on DoorDash you're gonna pay a dollar more per hot drink, but you'll save a lot of time on the line we found when we arrive at the line was so long. We just did the DoorDash for pick up and saved ourselves time. Love all the community events and the dog friendly space. However, when you’re all about taking care of the Earth and being good, please give those Dari crowds a break and reduce that$1.30. Allmond milk charge that I just got on my mocha. Please add some plant based options
This is the spot. I was at the Flower Pot Cafe for just a short amount of time, but it's AMAZING. The coffee was truly some of the best I've ever had. I got an iced oat milk latte with half-sweet vanilla - it was great. The atmosphere was very inviting and welcoming, and the food menu looked delicious! The service was quick and gracious, if I ever return to La Jolla I would love to go back!
This spot works really well as a hangout. There’s plenty of room to spread out, both inside and outside, with big tables and lots of seating that make it easy to get together without feeling crowded. It’s equally nice if you’re meeting a group or just looking for a calm place to sit and do your own thing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I absolutely love this place! Not only is the coffee top-notch, but their food is always fresh, delicious, and made with real quality ingredients. You can taste the care in every bite. What really sets them apart, though, is the customer service — the team is always smiling, welcoming, and truly makes you feel at home. It’s rare to find a spot that combines great food, perfect coffee, and such a warm, friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Met up with friends here to catch up — and this place is really well suited for that. I liked that there’s plenty of space, especially outdoors: big tables, lots of seating, and enough room to comfortably gather even with a larger group. There are also quiet spots where you can work or just relax on your own. We had coffee, but to be honest, I didn’t like it — just not my taste. Still, the overall atmosphere is nice, so it’s a good spot for friendly meetups.
Great coffee shop located in La Jolla. Highly recommended. Their Mocha is excellent. I’ve visited a couple of times and the atmosphere is always calm. Perfect spot for a business meeting, a quiet date, or catching up with friends. The food isn’t as outstanding as the coffee and the place itself, but it’s still a solid option.
A charming place with an eclectic design and plenty of seating for large groups. Many people come here to study, read books or to simply enjoy a warm cup of coffee. I got the chai bomb which was recommended and it was good. I ordered an avocado toast with sourdough which looked depressing but I didn’t expect much I just went to enjoy the patio space.

Great food and great vibes, but found the service to be subpar. I understand Sunday mornings are probably the busiest times and it can get stressful for staff, but it’s not a great look to visibly take that stress out on coworkers and customers. For context, my friend and I ordered our food together at the counter where I very clearly asked for an iced latte. That was even printed on the screen in front of us. While we waited for our drinks, I saw one person who was obviously stressed with the customer load being passive aggressive to her coworkers while making drinks. When my drink came out, it happened to be hot instead of iced. (Understandable. It’s busy and it happens so that in and of itself was not a big deal). When I told the barista I ordered the drink iced she said “you didn’t but okay.” I told her I did but she just ignored me while remaking my drink. One of her coworkers saw this interaction and apologized to me on her behalf. Aside from that, the food was great! I ordered a lox bagel and enjoyed it. It was a beautiful day and quite nice to sit outside.
Visited this place with my girlfriends on a Christmas week. The atmosphere and setting were great. Coffee was great. As for the food: yogurt parfait was generous and tasty. Avocado toast had two pieces of bread and some orange slices. It wasn’t special, no egg, just avocado mash. I had a breakfast burrito it wasn’t the best. The potatoes inside are big chunks of boiled potato and the seasoning was mild. Overall, it’s a nice place.

I wanted to like this place bc of the cute ambiance, but was disappointed. Food took a long time (30ish mins). When it arrived, tacos de patatas was quite disappointing - unflavored mashed potatos and cardboard stiff tortillas. The server was kind enough to switch it out with a bagel for me, which I appreciated, but the bagel took another 25 mins. Staff seemed distracted... would not come here again for anything other than coffee (iced latte was yum). Nice ambiance but wish they had better food and less wait times.

Just 2 blocks from La Jolla cove, we have always loved stopping by at *The Flower Pot* bypassing all eateries and cafés in La Jolla. However, tonight’s experience was beyond disappointing. Our family came for coffee, tea and small eats, 40 minutes before closing. Ordered 2-Hot Mexican Mochas, 1-Chai Latte and 1-Chicken Quesadilla. Paid $46.50 w/18%tip. Coffee arrived in very small cups (not in coffee mugs as they usually serve). It was served overly lukewarm-cold. And, it wasn’t just the top-foam was cold; the total of 4 sips of coffee in the cup, was cold to the last sip. As if it was sitting for hours in a machine brewed with descaling and cleaning issues since the taste of the coffee was stale, flat and no flavor of Mexican spices as told by the cashier. Tea latte was cold too, though served in a mug. Hot quesadilla was somewhat of a saving grace for chilly winter’s early evening hour, however the chicken we paid extra was barely there inside the wrapped quesadilla. Paid unreasonably high price for something that tasted like a day old left-over food, coffee & tea. Seems like they were out of everything an hour before closing the shop. Posting pics from our good times, breakfasts, and when Bobboi Gelato first sent us here to buy organic coffee. Bought ground organic coffee packs from Gloria over the years. Lastly, what’s with the school kids who never buy food, but are sitting there with convenience store coke-bottle doing homework on laptops, (1-school kid today) occupying 4-seater table inside, never leave for hours until closing time. We are not returning any more. Hurtful for the very reason why small local businesses we do not ever want to see closing down keeps going away. Awful!
