A unique and quirky coffee shop with killer drinks. The vibe inside is very relaxed. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Great service for a coffee chain. You pick your drink, how creamy and sweet you want it. There are tons of options. Ranging from typical coffee shop to unique drinks. My favorite coffee chain. Well worth the stop.

Stopped by to grab some drinks before heading to La Jolla Beach, and my local friends weren’t exaggerating when they said this was one of the city’s most popular coffee spots. The shop was completely packed, but we were able to get our drinks within 5 minutes. I tried three of their signature drinks, and the Iced Coffee Rose was my favorite. It was the sweetest of the three, but the delicate rose flavor that lingered at the end was absolutely enchanting—it felt like a slice of rosewater cream cake. The Iced Mint Mojito was also a nice surprise. While I’m not usually a fan of mint, here it was subtle and well-balanced. If you’re in the mood for creative and thoughtfully crafted coffee drinks, I highly recommend checking them out.

The coffee and bakery tastes pretty good. Barista was friendly. I bought some whole beans, although they don’t mark the date when the beans were roasted or an expiration date. To have the best of coffee a fresh roast and consumption in a month or so is a must.

Really busy and modern coffee shop with an assortment of pastries and different coffees. The offer specialty drinks as well. I chose the Jacob’s dark roast with light ice, cream added and an almond croissant toasted. The coffee was deep, decadent, and delicious. The croissant was yummy as well with a coating of powdered sugar to add some more sweetness to the almond paste in top of the pastry. Although there was a massive line upon entry, it moved very quickly and I was out in less than 10 mins. The cashier also gave me recommendations when I told her it was my first time there. Such a nice little place to visit with great atmosphere, upbeat personalities, and quick but efficient service.

Went to Philz Coffee, ordered the Tantalizing Turkish coffee. This has Mint and Cardamom which made me really want to try it. I got some cream in it but no sugar. You could really tasted the mint and the coffee was super good. There were a ton of orders but it took me less than 5 minutes to order and get my coffee. Great place and really good coffee.

Stopped in for our morning coffee on our vacation. I was very surprised by the set up. It’s a nice coffee shop. The girl taking the orders definitely has the best job there, since everyone else is so busy. I wanted to try something a little different so I got the iced ginger snap. I really liked it! Nice change of pace for me! I didn’t see the avocado toast offered this morning, but that could be my mistake. Nice location, easy to get to.

Ever since I tried the Philz Coffee signature Mint Mojito drink, it has always been my go-to order whenever I visit a Philz. I love that we can select the sweetness and creaminess level as it allows me to go for light sweetness and light cream. It does take some time, around 10+ minutes or more, to get your order, so only come to Philz if you're not in a hurry. Otherwise the coffee is great and service is nice! When I first tasted my drink, i found it wasn't minty enough, and so asked if they could make it more minty - they said they don't use mint syrup but use fresh mint (which is a big plus, cus the less processed is better)! I would advise that the bathrooms also be regularly cleaned, if possible, because when I went to use it, the previous user did not flush the toilet, which was a bit unsightly, so I also informed one of the staff.

Fantastic coffee! Philz coffee has fantastic coffee. Lots of options for drip coffee and other coffee concoctions. We tried the Tiramisu (seasonal) and Mint Mojitos. Both were delicious and can be adjusted to your preference in sweetness and milk. This is definitely a popular location with people chatting and working. The murals and pantings definitely give it a beachy vibe.

I ordered the mint mojito. I've ordered it at other locations, and the one from this one was not very minty. The only mint aspect was the visual mint pieces on top :( . It was also annoying how many people were camped there working. This location has quite a few tables and seats but it was full of people with their laptops! Overall, slightly disappointed but the barista was friendly.

If you love coffee and have time to wait for it, you'll want to go to Philz. Each cup is individually brewed according to your selection from creative flavors. This takes some time. There were some pastries, but not as good as the coffee. The coffee is a bit pricey, but it's made specifically for you.

To be honest, I don't know how to evaluate this place😁 we came here for coffee with friends. There were actually a lot of people here. There was a long line in front of us and right behind us. I expected that it was a popular place and the coffee was delicious. But after I tried the coffee, I was disappointed. It was black coffee without milk, because this place has its own specialty. However, the coffee was too bitter, like it was burnt, and very tasteless. I will not come back here again. But that's just my opinion. I have seen a lot of visitors here. Maybe I didn't understand this place. Although I like black coffee also, especially filter coffee, But I didn't like the coffee here. I liked the almond croissant😋

I’ve been a loyal Philz Coffee customer for over 15 years and have visited numerous locations throughout California. Unfortunately, this location reflects a growing and concerning decline in drink quality and consistency that I’ve experienced across several Southern California stores, and I’m sure it’s the reason why their plan for East Coast expansion failed! The drinks are consistently watery, lack distinct coffee flavor, and taste diluted or burnt. The signature creamy foam from the shaken heavy cream—something Philz is known for—is completely missing, replaced by watered-down ice with no foam or texture. This is not the Philz experience the brand was built on. During my most recent visit, my drink had to be remade three times, and it still wasn’t correct. The barista acknowledged the issue but offered excuses instead of solutions. When the manager remade it, he challenged me on how the drink should be prepared, questioned my order and how long I’ve been coming to Philz, insisted it was made differently than it always has been, and turned the interaction into an unnecessary argument rather than focusing on quality and customer service. The final drink the manager prepared was even worse than the first two. After 15 years of ordering the same drink across many locations, I know how it should taste and how it should be presented & prepared. No customer should be placed in a confrontational situation with management over basic drink quality and consistency. Why were my concerns met with defensiveness rather than professionalism and problem-solving? This isn’t just about one bad visit—it reflects a broader pattern of declining standards. If Philz wants to maintain its reputation and customer loyalty, there needs to be a serious focus on training, quality control, and management professionalism. This isn’t just a bad day — it reflects poor training, lack of standards, and weak management. Long-time customers know how Philz drinks are supposed to taste, and this location clearly isn’t meeting that standard. If this continues, Philz risks losing loyal customers and damaging the brand it spent years building. Very disappointing experience from a brand I’ve supported for over a decade. This feedback comes from a place of loyalty and genuine concern. Philz built its reputation on craftsmanship, consistency, and customer experience, and I truly hope this location — and others like it — receive better training and quality oversight so the brand can maintain the standard it’s known for.

I was in pjs ordered gave my name. 5 people after me got their order, they didn’t call my name my food was cold after I asked for it to be heated. I wanted to get my money back but I’m pretty sure I’d be ignore because I didn’t fit the image of the coffee shop so I just left and gave the items to homeless person
