The deep dish pizza is always very good! Lots of craft beer to choose from.

I was in the area with my family, and we decided on this spot randomly, so we weren't expecting much, but the food here is amazing. The double smash burger I ordered was delicious, and my vegetarian brother also loved his veggie burger. The brussel sprouts had a nice maple flavor, and we all enjoyed the veggie pig out fries. The way the fries are cut so that they can hold the sauce well and while still being crispy was incredible. The only complaint we had was that there was too much mustard on my mom's veggie bratwurst sandwich. She would've preferred the mustard on the side, but it was still delicious.

We dined with a party of four and looked forward to our meal since reading the favorable reviews since opening their La Mesa location. We ordered the following items: double smash burger with shoestring fries, pork nugs, & pig fries. We also had a glass each of their Sauvignon Blanc & Cabernet Sauvignon wines which were happy hour priced all night. All food dishes were served promptly, hot, well portioned, and tasty. The restaurant’s atmosphere is pretty casual, sound isn’t too loud or busy, service was good. We wanted to try their pizza as well but didn’t have the appetite to try it this time, but it’s on our short bucket list to try the next time we return.

I absolutely love this place. All of the food is great and the collection of beers on tap is superb. If you’re staying downtown, it’s worth coming out here to check it out.

When you're in San Diego, California you got to check this place out. It's kind of low-key but upbeat. Delicious burger, unique Pizza and unique fries. All delicious and good serviced 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽❤️❤️❤️🤤💯

I ordered the double smashburger and let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious! The service was Superior and a very friendly atmosphere. It was so good I came back literally the next day to have another burger. Great atmosphere for kids or adults. I'll definitely be coming here more often.

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to give it a shot. Enjoyed their food at the North Park Beer Company location for years and was stoked that we didn’t have to drive all the way to NP to partake. Food was great. The KAC salad was huge and delicious, the smash burger sliders were some of the best smash burgers I’ve had and the Mastiff Fries were on point too. Had to get a pint of the Dank Hill from North Park Beer Company to make it official. The beer selection was 30 beers deep with only two not SD local beers and only one not a Southern California brew. Sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive without being pushy. Think we found a new spot to hang out Sundays.

I have visited Mastiff on 3 occasions and all 3 have been great experiences. The food is delicious, creative and presented very well. On my last visit I ordered the caesar salad, mastiff fries and 12 wings and both items were delicious. The beer selection is a win too. Their daily and weekly specials are great deals too! I highly recommend. Parking can be somewhat difficult at times but definitely worth a visit.

Wife and I went for dinner, caught the happy hour. We had brussel sprouts, fries, a slice of pizza, wings, pork nuggets, a salad and 2 beers. Payed less than 60 bucks. Highlights for me were the pizza, brussel sprouts, and pork nuggets.

Really like their meal deal with a slice of pizza and side salad with a drink. Good amount of food. The pizza crust is crisp with a good amount of toppings. Salad was solid.

I was and am still amazed at the service and experience I had at Mastiff last night for dinner! We were having a bit of an unexpected day which brought me and my toddler to the area and needing dinner. From the very start Nikki (sorry if misspelled) was incredible! Everyone there was wonderful! The other waitress who I didn’t fully get to meet even made sure to clean the high chair before letting us use it, and Niki offered to help bring my water to the table as I carried my toddler and the diaper bag and even got water to clean the paci that fell. I was amazed at the CARE I felt! And the Food!!!! WOW!!! The choices were great and exciting and so delicious! I got the mini smash burgers and ordered for my husband the hatch sausage dog. My son loved the burger, fries and football on the tv! I look forward to returning!

One of the best burgers in town, hands down! 🍔🔥 Had the smash burger with smash fries and it was perfect. My neighbor and I try new burger spots all the time. Mastiff’s is easily a favorite now.

I went on a Thursday at 7pm and the place was very full. You order at the counter, or as I learned, if you sit at the bar you can also order there (food and drinks). We ordered the Brussels Sprouts, Caesar Salad, and Vegetarian Pig Out Fries. The portions were acceptable and the food was DELICIOUS. Even the Caesar was better than I expected, as a normal Caesar salad. Also, as a vegetarian, seeing so many options was really nice! The service was quick, knowledgeable, and friendly! The only knock would *maybe* be the parking, but that's not a good reason to dock any stars! Update: Went back tonight for Tuesday $5 pint night and tried the KAC Salad and Hot Hawaiian pizza (we subbed jalapeños for the ham). Both were seriously delicious. Pint night with the Padres game on made it even better! If you're looking for a more filling salad, go with the KAC over Caesar!

The food was great, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the service was quick! We got 2 double smash burgers, one with Brussel sprouts and the other with mastiff fries. The burger was great! Very flavorful and not too greasy. The fries were amazing, and had this unique sauce on them, which set them apart from other fries. The brussel sprouts were perfectly crispy and had an amazing maple drizzle with big pieces of parmesan. I preferred the fries but would definitely order both again.

Came here for a quick bit on a Saturday afternoon and it was great. The service is good, prices are fair and the food was pretty good. You really have no reason to go to a nasty chain place if you ask me. I was not a huge fan of the chokin chicken pizza but (the deep dish crust was good) but everything else was awesome. Wings were crispy and good, smashed burgers really good and big. They give you this pickled sides and those are great. Come grab a beer and enjoy the good food

First thing, I was here during the afternoon and it was not too busy. So, the service and atmosphere was great. The lunch special is worth looking at. I ordered the 🍔 special and was great. Patties were not overcooked, they were juicy and well seasoned. If you go with the side of 🍟 you won't be disappointed of the amount provided. Another thing to note is they have a great selection of beers and the staff is great at pointing out suggestions based on your liking. Lastly, the parking lot is small so be prepared to park in the street. But I think that is a minor concession for the great food and beer.

A hidden gem. The food is delicious. Pepperoni lunch special is amazing. Crispy pepperonis and a side salad with Cesar that isn’t drenched in dressing. Awesome beer selection. Tomato salad is so good. Everything is fresh and you can taste the ingredients are quality. Favorite is the Brussel sprouts they taste like Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Brussels had a a lovely little baby. Everything’s bomb. Try it. Won’t disappoint.

The burgers are bland, but they have toppings galore. The pizza was OKAY, it was mostly bread. The brunch menu was only available on weekends, which is a bummer. The food came out quick. This place is not super expensive, but I doubt I'll be back.

We were really excited to try this place after checking out the website and menu, but the experience was disappointing. When we walked in, the floor and tables were dirty. There was a sign instructing customers to wait to be seated. There was a party of 4 ahead of us waiting to order, and for over 7 minutes, no one acknowledged them or us, despite employees at the bar and in the kitchen clearly seeing everyone waiting several times during that period. I asked the party ahead if they had been helped, and they said no. Eventually, a man from the party ahead went up to the bar to speak to the employee. He stood there for over 30 seconds while the employee was interacting with another customer at the bar, then watched the employee walk to the order area without acknowledging him, leaving the man visibly confused. The employee later told the group to sit down and order. A woman from the party responded that they were ready to order, which was understandable given they had already been waiting for over 7 minutes and had more than enough time to look over the menu. The employee began taking the order while they were standing there but then walked away mid-order to get the man’s beer. When the employee returned with the beer, he appeared confused and could not find the man who ordered it, even though the man had been standing there the entire time. Between the repeated lack of acknowledgment, the cleanliness issues, awkward service, and the overall disorganized and uncomfortable atmosphere, we decided to leave while still hungry. The experience was disappointing and a waste of time. Unfortunately, I don’t see this place lasting.
