Hoffer’s is open La Mesa!!!!!!! This place is such a charming little spot in downtown La Mesa. It was recently remodeled and the owners really kept the space like the original place. It is owned now by Public Square coffee shop with Shannon as a partner. This place has a great tap list, Shannon is really knowledgeable about beer/wine and picks really great beers and wine. I love this place and I encourage anyone in La Mesa to check it out! They have cigars and a lovely patio to smoke on! So settle up with a stogie and get yourself to Hoffer’s La Mesa!

The long awaited remodel of Hoffers is now here - and the time away was WELL deserved. A gorgeous, comfortable, and spacious interior with an IMMENSE catalog of cigars, beers, and wines alike.

If you love good beer and enjoying it with a great cigar, then you will love this place. Inside is just a regular bar, but they have two large humidor rooms with a decent assortment of cigars. If you want to smoke and drink, you have to do it on the back patio so bring a jacket if it is cold out. The back patio has quite a few tables and chairs and a TV, as well as space heaters. It was very comfortable space. If you just want drinks however, you can choose to go inside out out, and the bartender was happy to recommend drinks to go with the cigars we choose. Over all this place was awesome, and I'll definitely be back!

Nice quiet bar in La Mesa. While they do not have the largest tap list out there, it is well curated and they are often able to obtain great craft beers some larger establishments cannot. Happy hour is before 7pm, where most of the taplist is only $5. Don't be wary of the cigar bar aspect as all the smoking is done outside and the door often shut. I am not a cigar smoker myself, but they do carry a large selection of cigars in two walk in humidors. Along with their great beer selection, they also carry some great regional wine. Hoffer's does not serve food, but check out the menus they have in the place where local restaurants will deliver.

Amazing place for hanging around with friends. They have a great selection of cigars and drinks to choose from. The best thing about the place is the staff, they are very kind and genuinely nice when it comes to teach you about their products. I fully recommend the place and I'll definitly come back when I have the chance! PS I gave 3 stars on food because I didnt ask for any and I'm not sure if they serve food at the place.

Fantastic spot. Great beer list, amazing service and an overall amazing spot to hang out. Pizza place next door will deliver to your seat and you can bring whatever food in you'd like. Great place to watch the Padres game. Can't recommend enough!

For a quick night out or adding a place to a night out. The selection of cigars is plentiful. The selection of draft beers and even sours are always good. The staff has a smile when you ask them about the price of a cigar box that isnt labeled. I always go home with 2-3. One day I'll do something with the 40 boxes I have.

Hoffer's is part of my haircut routine. I get a haircut and then afterwards we drive over to Hoffer's and smoke a cigar and have a few beers. They have a huge selection of rotating craft beers and two enourmous walk-in humidors with some of the best cigars around. They have great happy hour pricing and the bartenders are great people. Always willing have a good conversation and assist with beer or cigar selection. In the summertime they have live blues music on the patio and it's a great time. Really looking forward to this summer.

Friendly staff (Scott is very helpful and knowledge) and a long (11 am to 7 pm) "happy hour!" A brewery with 24 craft brews and, not one, but TWO full room sized humidors. The back alley has a good breeze, even on hot days like this one. It is small and homey, but not TOO small. Interior air conditioning is a nice touch as well.

Great casual spot with great craft beer and wine. Two walk in humidors top it all off. Friendly bar staff. The back patio is made for smoking cigars, and rarely does the smoke find its way inside making a pleasant experience indoors if you don't care for cigar smoke.

Cult of the Craft

Hoffer's is my go-to spot when I want a good beer in a nice atmosphere. I've been going since they opened 5 years ago. I normally go in the afternoon when it's nice and quiet but if you go at night, especially on weekends, it's always a good time. The regulars are very welcoming and the bartenders know their stuff. They'll make you feel like a regular very quickly. The local restaurants deliver food to the bar so if you're hungry, you don't even have to close out your tab ;)

Just a good neighborhood beer and cigar bar. Whenever I'm not sure about what to order I always ask the person behind the bar. I've been here on many occasions and they've never steered me wrong. Always good advice and good service. Seating and smoking outside and live music on the weekends. If you like beer probably the best place in the village.

I love the place and the staff especially Monica and Colin! Unfortunately, the Cigar selection is very limited. The stock is not being replaced. Staff is very attentive and I’ve asked them to re-order the cigars I like from their stock which they have, but order is not being fulfilled. I hope Aaron the owner takes heed….

Honestly would have rated higher if I was able to enter the establishment. Tried to go in during October fest for the first time today on 10/3/25 and the bouncer said my Florida ID was fake while using just a flashlight. Mind you I’m already over 21. Train your employee’s correctly to determine what a fake ID looks like.

Tried to go in during October fest for the first time today on 10/3/25 and the bouncer said my Florida ID was fake while using just a flashlight. Mind you I’m already over 21. Train your employee’s correctly to determine what a fake ID looks like.
