I highly recommend this place! The burgers are out of this world, the flavor is excellent, and the French fries are very good. The facilities are beautiful and the atmosphere makes the whole experience even better. The service is also outstanding. The servers are very kind and take the time to have a conversation about the food and make recommendations, which makes you feel very welcome. The other photos are from when I went to celebrate New Year’s and ordered the Parrillada Sonora. It’s a dish meant for sharing, and the quality of the food is excellent, just like the drinks. I ordered a lemonade with coconut milk and strawberries, and honestly I had never had anything like it before. To finish, I had a tres leches dessert, and it is honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Definitely a place I would recommend!

This historic bank building that previously housed Por Favor Mexican restaurant has been remodeled beautifully with a menu featuring Sonoran inspired Mexican fare. My parents and I went to try out their happy hour... They have an extensive happy hour food menu. You know how you usually get a few apps on a small card, this was a whole page menu with so many options, there's something for every taste and price range. The updated interior still retains the charm of the original building, and has been opened up so it feels very spacious. Sitting in the bar lounge allows you a terrific view of the beautiful restaurant as well as people watching in the village. Service was excellent, attentive, friendly and welcoming. We tried several things on the menu, the highlights were the Brussel sprouts (amazing lime smoked guajillo aioli and were perfectly crispy), the chicken tinga flautas (crispy outside but OMG, perfectly moist and flavorful tinga inside), and the al Pastor Taco (perfectly moist also). The only disappointment for me was the octopus, the flavor was amazing but the texture was just a bit chewy... It's so hard to cook octopus and it may have been the piece we were served, which was thicker in part than usual. The only cocktail we had was the passion fruit honey margarita, it was a bit over engineered and sweet for my taste, id have liked to see an inexpensive classic margarita served up or something. Minor quibbles really, we'll definitely be back for more in the future!

We loved our experience at Hacienda Cazadores in La Mesa! The restaurant is new, beautifully decorated, and has such a warm, welcoming vibe. Both visits (on busy Sunday evenings) were great—our server Ivan took fantastic care of us and made excellent recommendations. Everything came out fast, fresh, and full of flavor. The Queso Fundido, Aguachile de Callo de Hacha, and Parrillada Sonora were delicious. The Charred Caesar and Baked Potato stuffed with rib eye, bacon, and mushrooms were incredible too. Portions are generous and desserts like the panna cotta and chocoflan were the perfect finish. Great food, great service, and a beautiful atmosphere—we’ll definitely be back for the steaks next time!

Hacienda Cazadores is an absolute standout and easily earns every bit of its buzz. We came for Restaurant Week but ended up ordering off the regular menu--though their three-course Restaurant Week menu looks amazing. The food was phenomenal from start to finish. We had the grilled red snapper, perfectly grilled and full of flavor, paired with freshly made guacamole and handmade tortillas that were delicious. The oysters on the half shell were incredibly fresh, and the ceviche de camarón (shrimp ceviche) was light, zesty, and addictive. The real showstopper, though, was the tomahawk steak--tender, flavorful, and expertly prepared. Truly a must-order. The dessert--a warm corn cake which is called Elote in Spanish, topped with ice cream--was delicious and served warm. I would highly recommend it. Service was just as impressive as the food: exceptionally attentive, warm, and professional without ever feeling intrusive. Thank you Alberto and your staff for the amazing service. You can tell this place runs at a high level. It's no surprise this restaurant sells out nightly--it's very well deserved.

Absolutely amazing place. Second visit and the food was just as amazing as the first time. If you want personal and amazing service, ask for Ivan - he is absolutely incredible. But all the staff are kind and friendly. It’s Maine instead of the spiny Baja lobster they say it is (and we prefer the Baja), but they cook it so well that it didn’t matter. Definitely going back - already planning the next visit.

We had a wonderful breakfast at Hacienda Cazadores this morning with our family, including our two kids, and everything was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the Sonoran omelette, which was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I had the tres leches French toast along with the café de olla, and both were amazing. Our kids enjoyed their pancakes with a side of fruit and cleaned their plates!! The atmosphere was great, very welcoming and family-friendly, and the music selection made the experience even better. This was our second time having brunch here, and it has officially become our go-to breakfast spot. I highly recommend Hacienda Cazadores to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast or brunch with their family. We’ll definitely be back :)

New Favorite Alert: Hacienda Cazadores! 🇲🇽 Had the most fantastic early dinner tonight after visiting the La Mesa farmers market. Decided to check out Hacienda Cazadores, and wow, what a find! This place just opened, and they are already killing it. The food is genuinely delicious and authentic traditional Mexican. More than that, the service was great, and the drinks were perfect. Seriously, the margarita had a beautiful presentation and tasted even better. If you're looking for an amazing, authentic meal, you have to go. Highly recommend! #HaciendaCazadores #MexicanFood #LaMesa #SanDiegoEats #AuthenticMexican #NewRestaurant #Foodie #Margarita

I’m visiting from San Francisco and decided to try Hacienda Cazadores today for the first time and I’m so glad I did. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the food is authentic and full of flavor, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. A special mention goes to Miguel, the manager, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. It’s rare to see that level of care and professionalism, and it truly elevated the experience. You can tell this restaurant takes pride in both its food and hospitality. I’ll definitely be coming back on my next visit. Highly recommend Hacienda Cazadores to anyone looking for great food and genuine service!

I came across this new restaurant. I regret not taking pictures of my plate. I had the spinach salad, it was AMAZING it had bacon, avocado, red onion and wrapped in cucumber. The honey mustard dressing sealed the deal for me. I will definitely be back. The chips are accompanied by a variety of salsa's AMAZING!! My drink was a mix of coconut, lime and strawberries, it was refreahing and made to perfection. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable. Oh the frijoles charro were outstanding. I highly recommend this new addition to La Mesa, Sonia

It tastes like family gatherings with the people you love. Waking up at your tía’s house, the one who cooks incredibly well, full of flavor and sazon or at Grandma’s house, where the whole family gets together and cooks homemade meals all day. There’s always a big plate waiting for you at the table. That’s what Hacienda Cazadores reminded me of. It brought back memories of weekend family gatherings, where everyone enjoyed each other’s company, had a great time, and shared amazing food. It’s the perfect place to make memories with your loved ones, offering stunning and authentic Mexican cuisine. There’s no need to drive to Old Town and leave disappointed unless all you’re looking for is an okay tortilla. If you’re searching for authentic Mexican gastronomy, Hacienda Cazadores is the place to be. We made reservations to celebrate a close friend’s birthday, and Alberto took excellent care of our party of seven. The table was filled with dishes, incredible aromas, and delicious food. Have your cameras ready ! You’ll want to record and share the experience. Portions are large, well seasoned, and generous... Don’t even get me started on the meat cuts ! We had the dry aged Tomahawk and the Parrillada Sonora we left with full bellies, big smiles, and happy hearts.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely amazing Mexican restaurant! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff who genuinely care about your experience. The food is outstanding—fresh, authentic, and packed with flavor. Every dish tastes homemade, from the perfectly seasoned meats to the rich, flavorful salsas and warm tortillas. The menu offers a great variety, whether you’re craving classic comfort dishes or something a little more adventurous. Portions are generous, presentation is beautiful, and everything comes out hot and fresh. You can tell a lot of pride goes into the cooking. Service is fast, attentive, and consistently friendly without feeling rushed. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again—perfect for family dinners, date nights, or just a casual meal. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic, delicious Mexican food done right! 🌮🇲🇽

My wife and I were very excited to try this place out as it's a new restaurant in La Mesa village. It was a colder night and the inside was full so offered us a seat outside. We asked if there extra heaters and the hostess assured us multiple times that there were, then the waiter telling us there wasn't. No worries that happens, we were dressed warm enough. We order drinks and my wife gets a fancy cocktail with fixings on it so it comes with a straw. Unfortunately she drops the straw and we asked 3 separate times for a new straw so she could drink through all of the fixings. Never got one throughout the course of the meal. Again, not a huge deal, things happen. We ordered the Parrillada Sonora which is a large meat assortment plate for two essentially and costs $120 which isn't listed on the menu. Comes with 4 small tortillas. We enjoyed it and needed to order more tortillas since its a large plate. We enjoyed the meal, all good there. Bill comes and we notice there was an additional $3 charge for the extra tortillas. Normal enough except they were with a $120 entree. Should have just included a couple more tortillas in the original amount or make them complimentary when you're already spending a good amount of $. Also on the bill is a 3% surcharge if you use your credit card. Not the end of the world, cuz unfortunately too many places are tacking on extra fees these days. Still, I hate hidden fees and don't go along with them willingly. To conclude, all the little things aren't big deals on their own, but all together it was an okay experience. Don't understand what their trying to be/do. Of you want to be an upscale Mexican food restaurant, okay cool be one. Have better service and don't nickel and dime people over little things. If that's not your vibe, then food is too expensive for the experience. Save yourself some time and just go to Casa Gabriella down the street...

It's a beautiful restaurant and the staff is friendly and pretty prompt. But Im always so bummed when a restaurant is over the top with the vibe and atmosphere yet the food and drinks fall short. The food also came quick which is another postive but unfortunately the food was less than impressive. Maybe it's what we ordered..maybe they are known for their steaks and seafood? I wasnt that hungry so I ordered the chicken taco and it was plain. Not very flavorable and at one point I even questioned if it was chicken because the meat looked off. My husband got the enchilada dish and it had a good size bone in it(hoping/assuming this was a fluke). The corn in a cup dish was not what I was expecting; it came soup style so my son wanted nothing to do with it..it through me off too but it did turn out to be really good! Their beans were good when I added them to my taco but when I ate it by itself they were extremely salty. They are generous with the chicken on the kids chicken tacos. My son had more chicken in his taco than my single adult taco. My husband liked his drink that was suggested from the waiter but I dont remember the name. I also don't remember the name of my drink but it was a pinapple/almond flavored something and it was not good at all..i I didn't taste pinapple or almond..It tasted like a watered down traditional margarita....plus the cup was all ice. I wanted to love this place but nothing stood out to me that would make me want to go back anytime soon!

Poor quality Cadillac Margarita - tasted less than one shot and incredibly mid for $18. Service was poor too other than the ladies serving water: they were personable and five stars. Restroom in terrible condition at Friday open: how, why?!

My wife and I came here for dinner on a weeknight February 2026. We were seated promptly and given menus for drinks and food. The menus look amazing physically as well as the variety within them. Everything sounds amazing. This is the second time we've eaten at this restaurant and we will never go back. While everything sound amazing in the explanation on the menu it's not. In fact it's bad. It's extremely pricey and the food quality is bottom of the barrel.... The taste is just not there. For instance I ordered a lobster. It was supposed to be a Pacific spiny lobster cooked Puerto Nuevo style. It was not either. It was a Maine lobster cooked on a barbecue, not fried in oil. It was well undercooked and the claws were burnt through from the grill. It was not that large either and for $100 it should have been the best lobster I'd ever eaten, but it was one of the worst. I ordered an iced tea and it was terrible. Definitely not fresh brewed and for a restaurant of this stature and the prices they are charging they absolutely need to have fresh brewed iced tea - nothing out of a fountain. I sent the iced tea back and got a lemonade thinking that would be better...nope also a fountain drink that tasted like junk. After sending back the iced tea I just choked down the lemonade and lived with it. My wife got the short ribs which were market price and also $100. They were tough and overcooked. Nothing at all like a good quality tender short rib. Our server was very nice and sweet but we had to keep getting her attention whenever we needed something and that was difficult. The corn and flour tortillas are made on site and they are excellent. In fact the tortillas are the very best thing they serve as far as we can tell. The rice is average and the beans are the weirdest things you ever had - all soupy and strange. Bottom line for a restaurant trying to make itself appear upscale and commanding top prices, the food is such poor quality that you should simply go somewhere nice and spend the money elsewhere.

We really wanted to love this place because the ambiance and location are ideal. There’s a lot of potential here, and I hope they make a few adjustments. • The kids’ burger was enormous, but not in a good way. Both the burger and fries tasted previously frozen. Honestly, a simple frozen bean burrito would have been a better option. • The enchiladas were not what I expected — they were more like layered tostadas rather than traditional enchiladas. • The chips were nothing special, and the salsa presentation felt underwhelming. For the price point, this could be elevated quite a bit. • For a $17 cocktail, I expect balance, quality tequila, and a clear ice block. • My husband ordered the burger and ended up with essentially the same one as the kids’. I get it — maybe don’t order a burger at a Mexican restaurant — but still. • The Brussels sprout side should honestly be removed from the menu altogether. What we did enjoy: • The Mexican wine selection • The guacamole My last gripe is that the original stained glass was removed, which was a bummer. That said, the interior is otherwise beautifully done. We’ll likely be back to try some of the seafood and see how it compares.

Had a 745 reservation We didn’t get to our table till 805 so we were starving. So we asked for chips and salsa which is a tiny bowl that cost six dollars and they are out of the bag. They were not even warm. The salsa is not good.. The baked potato with the steak and cheese. It would’ve been a nine if it would’ve been hot but nothing there is hot. You might find a hot spot. Maybe they put it in the microwave kind of hot spot. Also got the hamburger and fries. We couldn’t eat the fries cause they were cold and greasy The hamburger I think they cooked it out of a Sysco truck. I don’t think the waitress ever looked at us and when we asked for our bill, she went over and stood next to her girlfriend at the bar and talk to her for about 12 minutes and then finally came over and gave us the bill. The whole thing was weird.
