★★★★★ I have had the Raffaello at Lorenzo’s multiple times now, and it is consistently phenomenal. The focaccia is perfect, the mortadella is high quality, and the sweet-salty combo with the fig jam and creamy stracciatella-style cheese is unreal. Crispy onions and pepperoncini give it the perfect crunch and bite. One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had in LA or anywhere else. The owners are always friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they genuinely care about what they’re doing. It makes the whole experience even better. This is the kind of place you’re happy to keep coming back to.
December 2025: Read about this place in the LA Times 100 list. I'm always on the hunt for the world's best sandwich 😀. Ordered the caponata and the special crudo sandwiches. Starting with good bread is the foundation of a good sandwich. Lorenzo's focaccia passes the test ⭐. I really liked the caponata. The eggplant, zucchini and cheese were a very tasty combo. I liked the prosciutto sandwich too. I'll be back again for more delicious sandwiches. Can't wait to try them all 😋😀.
Lorenzo is my favorite place for an Italian sandwich in LA. I absolutely love this place. Everyone who works there is so kind, friendly, and genuinely caring. It’s always such a pleasure to go back. On top of that, the food is amazing. Their sandwiches are easily my favorite Italian ones in LA. I’ve been there so many times and it never disappoints.
Wow!!! Just when I thought I couldn’t be surprised by a sandwich, the special Chicken Parm from Lorenzo’s completely blew my mind, in over 40 years of eating Chicken Parms, I think I’ve found the holy grail!!! And sadly it is leaving this coming Sunday the 23rd of Nov, what a tease to have just tried it for the first time today! Well hopefully it contes back asap, in the mean time there is always the Lorenzo which in itself is a work of art, amazing!!! Please if you can get one of these chicken parm’s before they’re gone, do!!! But if not, I’m sure every sandwich here is of the same caliber and I look forward to trying them ALL!!!
Absolutely worth the wait! My daughter and I have been wanting to try Lorenzo California ever since they opened two years ago — and today we finally did. Let me just say: it was beyond worth it. We ordered the Chicken Milanese sandwich (a weekend special), and it was absolutely divine. The chicken was perfectly crispy, topped with creamy stracciatella, fresh lettuce and tomato, and perfectly seasoned with a subtle touch of citrus that pulled everything together. The bread was outstanding — flavorful and sturdy enough to hold all the delicious components without falling apart. We also tried the Rafaello, one of their most popular sandwiches, and it was truly amazing. It struck the perfect balance of sweet and salty, and every bite was thoughtful and indulgent. Portions are generous — one sandwich can easily be shared, though you'll probably want one all to yourself. The quality is exceptional, and it's clear that care goes into every detail. We’re already excited to go back. Highly recommend!
Lorenzo is by far the best Italian sandwich I’ve ever had! The bread is light, the meats are top quality, and the flavor combinations are outstanding. The customer service is excellent, Cynthia is always so friendly and accommodating. It’s my go-to spot every time I’m in the area.
Made a mistake not trying this place earlier. Son said it's the best steak sandwich ever (only served on Thursdays). Thats good enough for me! Also tried the roast beef and spicy salami both delicious. It's not cheap! Smack in the middle of Beverly Hills/Rodeo Dr. area. Well worth it in my opinion. In addition, I thought we were going to wait a long time bc the orders are out of control BUT our sandwiches were served much sooner than we thought!
Lorenzo is hands down the best sandwich shop in LA. The tuna sandwich is the best I have ever had. It is fresh, full of flavor, and always made with care. The pesto fusilli is also amazing, simple, rich, and incredibly satisfying. Everything on the menu feels thoughtfully prepared. Customer service is excellent. The woman at the front is welcoming, kind, and always makes you feel taken care of. If you are looking for the best sandwiches in the city, this is the place. I can’t get over it!
THE BEST SANDWICHES IN LOS ANGELES! I am not exaggerating. These authentic Italian sandwiches are ridiculously delicious. So far I’ve tried 4 different items and each one has been impressive. Each layer of these sandwiches has quality ingredients you can taste BUT the star of the show is the focaccia bread. The flavors and the textures are unbeatable! Thank you Lorenzo and Cynthia for always being super friendly and delivering quality food with quality service 🙏 . We’ll be back soon
Friendly, welcoming service. The place is vibing. The sandwich was light, refreshing, you could taste the freshness and quality is like having a sandwich in Firenze without leaving town. I have to go back & try each & every one of them. & if you follow on Instagram you can find out which special is gonna be the following day.
This might just be one of the best sandwiches to come to LA. I believe the owner, Cynthia? works the register and she is so sweet and helpful to everyone coming in. I went with the classic Lorenzo sandwich today and it was ready in about 5 minutes. Let me tell you - they know how to make foaccia. This is exceptional bread. It's just crispy enough to offer a nice bite and crisp. The fillings are so tasty. The mortadella is meaty without being greasy or fatty. The parmigiano paste is so unique and special, it's creamy and nutty and amazing. As well as those toasted pistachios offering more nuttiness and a good crunch along with a savory flavors. The red peppers and basil create a nice cut from the richness and fresh bite. This place is special and I can't wait to return over and over again
Amazing Cotto sandwich, and I’m not even a sandwich girlie! Bread was soft with a crunchy crust, ingredients are generous, and you can taste every ingredient listed. Absolutely worth the cost. Really looking forward to coming back and trying more!! Park in the garage on 461 N Bedford (first two hours free, 2 blocks away)

My favorite sandwich shop in LA! Bread is on point - soft inside with just enough crisp on the outside. Even though it’s a $20, they don’t skimp on the toppings like some sandwich shops do. Excellent menu options. Staff has always been friendly. Not much seating but there are a few tables inside as well as some sidewalk patio tables.

I may have found sandwich Nirvana! I had the Tonno - tuna salad - and the combination of savory flavors on fresh made bread was absolutely mind-blowing!! Hands down the best tuna salad sandwich I've ever had - restaurant or homemade - in my life. A friend had the Cotto - prosciutto ,cheeses and truffle oil - and he was over the moon for his sandwich. Normally he's the "eat some and save some for later but later never comes" type of guy. But when he got home 90 minutes later he devoured the remaining half! And yes the Black Truffle Fettuccine is a must have, even at the surprising price! The shop is stylish, clean and small with a few tables, perfect for a sunny day. The staff was also kind and friendly, with a relaxed, "welcome to this gem of a restaurant" vibe. This place is totally worth braving LA traffic (drove in from Long Beach), and you won't be disappointed.
Lorenzo Sandwiches is a hidden gem. The sandwiches are next level generous portions, fresh ingredients, and incredible flavor in every bite. You can taste the quality and care that goes into making everything. The place is clean, the service is friendly and efficient, and the food comes out fast without sacrificing quality. It’s honestly refreshing to find a spot that keeps things simple but does them really, really well. If you’re looking for an amazing sandwich in Beverly Hills, this is the place. Easy 10 stars definitely adding this to my regular rotation. 🥪🔥
Is $21expensive for a sandwich? yes. Is it absolutely worth it? YES. I don't have any photos to post because I can't wait even a second before I have to take a bite. They all look amazing and I always peep at other customers' orders but I never try anything besides the Special Crudo because it is hands down my favorite sandwich in LA and rivals the sandwiches I ate while living in Florence. My husband also loves the Porchetta special sandwich that is served on Fridays right now but I'm telling you- get the Special Crudo. The bread is out of this world- perfectly salted - and the prosciutto melts in your mouth. The shop is small but we've always had good luck with getting a table. 10/10 no notes.

Great solid sandwiches with fresh ingredients. Nothing really negative to say but it didn't have the WOW factor for me to give it 5 Stars. Definitely way better than any sandwich at Beverly Hills Cheese down the block. Will definitely eat there again if I am in the area and craving a sandwich.
I recently visited Lorenzo Beverly Hills and had the chance to try their spicy salami cruto, and I have to say, it was a standout. As someone who’s been to Italy and tasted the real deal, I can confidently say this was one of the best crutos I’ve had in the US. The flavors were bold, authentic, and perfectly balanced—just what you’d hope for from a place aiming to bring a slice of Italy to Beverly Hills. The restaurant itself is a cute little spot with a cozy vibe, which added to the experience. The food felt genuinely authentic, and it’s clear they’re putting care into what they serve. That said, the price did give me a bit of pause—one cruto at $25 felt a little steep, even for Beverly Hills. But I suppose that’s the trade-off for quality in this part of town. Overall, Lorenzo Beverly Hills is definitely a must-try if you’re in the area and craving an authentic Italian cruto. I’ll absolutely be back to explore more of their menu the next time I’m around!

I stopped by for a sandwich and was pleasantly surprised. The sandwich was a really good size, the quality was great, and everything tasted fresh. You can tell good ingredients are being used, and I was very happy with the overall quality of the food. It is a little on the pricey side. Not much sitting

The sandwiches are tasty, although you do not get enough meat in my opinion. Very small place barely any seating. Staff is fantastic. Great place to visit every 6 months or so.
Disappointing considering the hype. For $23 sandwiches, they should have more filling. Bread is ok. Giardinera was too salty. Mamie is much better.

I have been on hunt for LA’s best Italian sandwich of late. Mamie on Fairfax has been quite a pleasant revelation. I just recently discovered Lorenzo California , located just off Rodeo Drive. I went on a Sunday and it was packed. There is very limited seating, so don’t plan on dining in and consider a take out instead. I was lucky a seat opened up while my 20 minute was going on. Be warned, parking is also quite a challenge.. I had the Cotto. Truffle flavor is greets you as peep the sandwich wrap. They certainly did not skimp on the prosciutto. It was creamy through and through in each bite. I’ll have to say though. It was a decent sandwich, the excellent ingredients do come through. The focaccia bread was crispy while fluffy inside. There was just that lack of a wow factor in the end. I’d say perhaps it was the lack of layers of flavor I was looking forward to. Perhaps it was just the plainness of it? I was certainly expecting a lot more for a $21 sandwich. I still plan to try the other ones next time. —- I came back another day for the Special Cruddo. You can tell they did not skimp on quantity of the ingredients. I have to say I was not impressed with the taste right from the first bite however. There was a bit of tartness that came through from the first bites. The cream sauce tasted like grocery mayo. Overall the sandwich leaned towards more salty in flavor and overall it just did not give me the impression that there was a refinement for a $21 sandwich. I seriously can’t even finish my sandwich. It was that bad.
