Standout dishes include El Macho’s Salsa y Ropa Vieja, gluten-free cauliflower, and banana-flavored desserts. Some find the ordering system and portion sizes less appealing.

The food here was amazing, everything was clean. A good variety of food. We got our food in under 20 minutes. The rice and salmon was phenomenal. The minion tots were so good and I absolutely loved the Banana soda and dessert. It was very fun and bright in there. The staff was great as well.
Such a magical experience in a fun place. Amazing gluten free options and phenomenal service from Dee Dee and Victoria (I believe that was her name. I was most excited about the gluten free fried cauliflower and it was SO good!
I ordered the Carl's Crispy Cauliflower gluten free. It was delicious! The cauliflower was very tasty and had the perfect amount of crunch. The rice and edamame beans were also very yummy. The cucumbers were too spicy for me, as was the sauce that came on the side. Note: they don't really do to-go orders but they were able to find a to-go container.
🎬🥤🍌🥗 I guess if Illumination’s Minion’s Cafe could not just serve a bunch of bananas, the next best thing is a menu that’s diverse — and just as delightfully silly! Grab a table, hit up the Coca-Cola Freestyle, and enjoy the bright, goofy Minion vibes all around.
Cute restaurant. I had el macho’s salsa y ropa vieja. So good. The tostones could be better because they were a little soft, but it was delicious.
We chose to dine here out of convenience based on proximity and mobile ordering. That said, we were pleasantly surprised all around by the food we had. Keep in mind the portions are not huge, but the quality was very good. They have several healthier options if that's what you're looking for. Aside from the food itself, the service was fairly quick and friendly and the Minion themed decor and dishes were amusing as well. I would recommend at least looking through the menu if you're near here and hungry.
I LOVED THIS PLACE💛 adorable minions everywhere, and the food was so good. Staff who took our order was so nice, too. My friends tried the roll cake, and though it looked like it would taste like banana, they said that it was more of a refreshing fruits taste. The kids menu i ordered(forgot the name) was filling for snack ! Loved the peanut butter toast & cute potato tots
Today's experience of the mini Cafe was a fun and exciting one. They have an interesting little menu that makes it fun to order. Ordering is done by your mobile phone and the food is brought directly to your table. The portrait sizes are a bit small, but I understand you're paying for the experience as well here. But, No one wants to leave hungry. Service today was fast and efficient and the food was quite good. Stop in today and tell them that I told you to come in and give it a try.
Thumps Up for Dee Dee! From the moment we arrived at Minions Cafe, Dee Dee greeted us super friendly. Even when we decided to take our order, she was at the register to charge us too. Dee Dee is a 5-star employee, no matter what. I highly recommend eating at Minion Cafe! From the atmosphere to the staff, it's spectacular!

If you happen to love Minion's you're going to dig this cute eatery. Even if you don't care for the yellow critters it's still a great place to eat at Universal Florida. The restaurant is impeccably themed with Minion's decor everywhere. Ordering is super easy, you find a table and pick whatever you want from the app and they bring it over to you. They also have Coke Freestyle machines for your convenience. All the themeing in the world would be for naught if the food wasn't very good and fortunately they have lots of tasty food to choose from. I got Uncle Dru's pork belly sandwich with tots and Otto's Pet rock which is a PB&J mousse. It was all very delicious. Minion's Cafe is one of my favorite places to eat in the park and I highly recommend it.
This is the newest themed restaurant in the Universal Studios park. It is part of an entire section of the park dedicated to the Minions. It is pretty popular right now because of it being so new. You will need to get in a queue line to enter and then you will need to mobile order your food, using the Universal App, after you are seated. They will bring the food to your table when it is done. The restaurant is very well themed to the minons and their hijinx. There even is a section that is supposed to be a minions break room area. There is plenty of seating available inside and they also have outside seating. You can hear the minions singing popular songs over the speakers throughout the restaurant. It took a little while to get our order out but the time was still acceptable. The food was warm and very tasty. I really enjoyed my El Macho's Salsa Y Salsa Ropa Vieja and my wife had the Mel's Meatball Mountain. They have a few Coke Freestyle machines for your soda orders, They will bring you your cup if you order soda. You can also order a cup of water and get refills at the Coke machines. Overall we were satisfied with our meal and visit and will do so again in the future so we can try out their other dishes.
This is a must try! Sooo excited to eat at this themed cafe! The atmosphere was whimsical and fun, just as you’d expect from Minion land. The staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. And the menu was surprisingly fresh and unique, as opposed to the typical burgers and fried food you normally see at fast-service restaurants. I tried the crispy cauliflower with edamame and blue coconut rice. Not only was it delicious, but the presentation was delightful- almost too pretty to eat! My son tried the noodle bowl and hubs tried the pork belly sandwich. Food was fresh and had that homemade flare! Double thumbs up!
The food was delicious! When I thought I had lost my phone after leaving the restaurant, Ms. Dee Dee went above and beyond to help me find it. Out of all the park employees I spoke with, she was the only one who genuinely helped in every way possible. Huge thanks to her—I have my phone back 🙂
The atmosphere was great for the restaurant. I had "Chicken Stuart's Szechuan Surprise." Chicken and the noodles were some of the best amusement park food. The chicken was seasoned well and very tender. I also tried the Minion Swiss Roll. The Swiss roll was moist and tasteful. Being vanilla, don't expect too much flavor. The bannana item was something different. A slight tang to the filling but was balanced with the sweet Swiss roll. A lot better than your average burger or grilled chicken sandwich. My wife got the meatball mountain. It was very good. Sauce was very good, along with the meatballs and the crust.
Pork belly sandwich was tremendous and food came out fast. My wife liked hers as well. Really cool immersive restaurant too. Very impressed for themepark food
This is a fun place to eat. You can order ahead using the Universal Studios App. Once you arrive, find a table and scan the code on the table with your app. The friendly and helpful staff will bring your drinks, then food to your table. While they have a great selection of food, they limit condiments to ketchup. Ask for that when they bring your food.
Was surprised at the quality of this theme park food . Had the steak sandwich with melted cheese with minion tator tots. Kids had nuggetts and spaghetti 🍝. Very tasty but of course theme park pricing. Luckily i get premier pass discount. 4.95 for each soft drink is a bit much 🤦🏻♀️Place is minion themed and cute
The food was tasty and satisfying. I highly recommend the ropa vieja. It was a better version of a chipotle bowl. If you're not a fan of super sugary drinks, skip the specialty beverages. Service was great. Everyone was kind and professional while leading us to our table and explaining the ordering process. However, the restaurant employees are clearly being overworked. Two or three employees were in charge of an entire room of customers. Please hire more wait staff and install a utensil/napkin/condiments section so employees don't have to run themselves ragged, taking orders and delivering little bits of silverware and sauces.
I came here excited to try this newer universal dining place and it was so cute and accommodating. The food themes were so cute, I definitely recommend the macho’s ropa vieja and Bobs pet rock, both were delishhh. The inside decor is also super cutely minion themed and deserves a look around. It was pretty empty so we got our food within like 8 minutes, 100% worth a try
Really had a wonderful experience here. It was our very first day at Universal and we misread what time the park closed, so we got there 15 minutes before they closed with two people in our party with severe food allergies. Sam (restaurant manager) and Josh (waitstaff) were incredible accomodating and insisted we take our time. All of our meals were solid (obsessed with the minion tots tho those were a 10/10 for me) and then the desserts were fantastic. The PB&J mousse rock was surprisingly good and then the passionfruit banana (comes with the pineapple roll) will be one of the highlights of the trip for years to come.
Honestly can't complain about this place. We had the Antidote to drink, the Belly Fillin Pork Sandwich and the Pet Rock and honestly it was all amazing... We had one sandwich with the banana chips and the other with fries... So good. Place was clean and tidy, staff were friendly and I'm sure they're pumping s banana smell into the very clean toilets... A definite visit if you're at Universal.
As an avid fan of the mischievous Minions, I couldn't contain my excitement when news broke about the grand opening of the Minions Cafe at Universal Studios. With high expectations and a growling stomach, I ventured into the vibrant world of these yellow, banana-loving creatures. After my visit, I'm happy to report that the Minions Cafe exceeded my expectations, delivering a delightful experience that captured the essence of these lovable characters. Upon entering the cafe, I was instantly immersed in the whimsical universe of the Minions. The vibrant yellow and blue color scheme, coupled with playful decor and catchy music, created a cheerful ambiance that brought a smile to my face. Every inch of the cafe was adorned with Minion-themed details, from the walls adorned with their misadventures to the quirky furniture that perfectly captured their unique charm. The menu at the Minions Cafe offered a wide array of delectable treats that catered to all tastes. From whimsical desserts to hearty savory options, there was something to satisfy every craving. I opted for the "Steak and Cheese Ray sandwich," that was just awesome and for a small up-charge was accompanied by a side of crispy minion-shaped fries, it was a fun and satisfying meal. Each dish was meticulously crafted making me feel like the lovable Minions created the dish just for me in the back in true minion fashion. It was almost too cute to eat. The chefs showcased their culinary creativity by incorporating iconic Minion themes thus adding an extra layer of charm to the dining experience. While the food and ambiance were undoubtedly highlights, it's worth noting that the Minions Cafe can get quite crowded, particularly during peak hours. I must say the line looked worse then it actually was. It moved very fast and the hostess and staff were very efficient at seating people. This popularity is a testament to its appeal, but it might result in longer wait times. However, the cheerful and energetic staff did their best to keep the lines moving swiftly, ensuring a pleasant experience overall. Of note Brianna came over to our table and asked how we were doing and if we needed anything. She was happy, friendly, and professional. We love her whole attitude as much as the food and atmosphere. Well done! In conclusion, the Minions Cafe at Universal Studios is a delightful addition to the theme park experience. With its playful atmosphere, creative menu, and attention to detail, it offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the world of these mischievous yellow creatures. Whether you're a die-hard Minion fan or simply seeking a fun and whimsical dining experience, the Minions Cafe is a must-visit destination that will leave you grinning from ear to ear. I also spoke with the manager Rob on the way out and he is a true gem. He was very kind and well spoken with genuine interest in our experience and he even took time to discuss some of the foods, taste bouquet, and preparations. Well done all around!
This is a great re-theme of the old Monster's Cefe. The yellow really brightens up the whole area. At the main door, you wait to be seated. At your table is a QR code. You scan it to open up the menu selections. While there are a few physical menus, you are encouraged to order and pay through the app. After selecting your food, scan the code on the table again to register your table number. Servers bring the food and drinks directly to your table. A big change from Monsters with it's counter service ordering and finding your own table. I got the cheese steak sandwich which came with a little squeeze tube of cheese inserted into the sandwich to hold it together. I thought that was a great touch! The sandwich was really good but came with fried banana slices or you could pay a little more for tater tots in the shape of minions. I understand the banana reference with the minions but would have really preffered fries. Maybe the fries could be shaped like bananas? Food was good and would definitely get the cheese steak again!
Surprisingly exquisite food despite the bad reviews. Enjoyed the noodle tonkotsu broth was nice, the pork pretzel burger was fantastic and great mix with swiss roll and coffee. The only downvote was they forgot/mishandled my coffee so i jad to ask multiple times, but the staff helped me out so thank you. Not busy, great price, great food and problem solving, definitely will come back
Great place to eat and relax. Mobile ordering on the app was easy and once you've ordered you click "I've arrived" and then scan the code on the table. Took a couple of tries since you need to literally rest your phone on the table and not really "scan" it. We got the PX41 drink which was actually really good. Loved the pop rocks and the purple icing was actually super good. For our mains we had Mel's meatball mountain which again was fantastic. The only downside is I like spicy so a spicier tomato sauce would have been nice. It was actually quite large too so good value there. We also had the El Macho salsa y salsa. This dish was very flavorful and overall a great option but compared to the other one felt a bit too small. For dessert we had Otto's per rock which was great. Could have used a bit more peanut butter flavour but overall delicious. Will be back!
The food was absolutely amazing. The Steak and Cheese Ray came with a tube of cheese to squirt. Minion tots were shaped like minions. The honeymoon soup had a tomato gummy bear, it melted before we got to see it but it was delicious with the pimento grilled cheese. The pet rock and minion roll were also fun dessert. The banana is guava flavored. And the meatball mountain was so filling. You can't go wrong.
This is a Minions-themed café located inside Universal Studios Orlando — a must-visit for Minions fans! The interior is all about yellow, with Minion decorations everywhere. The food is also colorful, with lots of yellow and purple items that look super cute… though the taste wasn’t quite as impressive. That said, the service was great — our waitress was very friendly and made the experience more enjoyable. Since it’s a concept-focused café, I think movie lovers and fans of the franchise will really enjoy it.
We love Illumination’s cafe! Most of the things we’ve tried here have always been delicious. The service is always great and the team members are very kind and friendly Last time we were there we ordered the ropa vieja for the first time which comes with rice, tostones and a tomato and cucumber salad and it was delicious. The portion was a little small but delicious nonetheless. We also ordered the minion tots which are my favorite! Definitely get that every time we’re there. And we ordered the spaghetti and meatballs for our son, which also comes with the minion tots as a side and he loved it, as did we since we tried it The bathrooms are small but very clean. The restaurant itself is so cute and the theming is great! This is one of the best places to eat at at Universal
Lovely and Unique presentation of the dishes and taste only matching and probably exceeding the presentation skills of these dishes with a very polite, helpful and welcoming staff! Located just after the entrance, this cafe is a very wonderful experience and a treat to your eyes and tummy! My daughter and wife loved it and we would definitely recommend this place to try and experience! We did a take-out as we wanted to watch the parade but the inside sitting and dining is also great experience and the pictures can hardly do any justice to the real restaurant experience.. Lovely place
We did table service, but there is also a pickup window. You order on your phone then scan the QR code for the table you are at. Our food came out pretty quick even though it was really busy while we were there. Maybe 5-10 minutes. I had the salmon bowl that has a really good combo of flavors in it. I don’t think most of the food at Universal is worth the price, but this was really good and I would recommend it. My daughter had the meatball mountain and she really liked that too. The Pet Rock desert was peanut butter flavored and was delicious. The Minions decorations are really neat and young kids will definitely enjoy the experience. My wife and son got the pork sandwich and they did not like it at all. We didn’t know that porchetta (as it says on the menu) was pork belly so I’m not dinging the star rating, but we would not have ordered it if we knew that. Pork belly is very fatty and their sandwiches were basically a pork fat sandwich and it was just not good at all, so please keep that in mind if ordering. If you like a very very fatty sandwich, then this is for you.
My family and I loved it. Food was great and well priced, service was really friendly. There’s a freestyle machine in the restaurant for your refillable cups. A place like this could very easily be ‘chicken tenders on a yellow plate’ but they’ve put so much more effort into it. We especially liked the desserts, so much so that we visited 2 days in a row.
Minions Cafe was a visual experience! I honestly really enjoyed it. My dish was the cauliflower vegan option (jasmine rice, fried cauliflower with spicy sauce on the side, edemam and pickled cucumber), which was awesome! My husband ordered a chicken and noodles dish, which he did you finish because he didn't like it. My son had the grilled cheese (typical grilled cheese with minion shaped fries and a tiny banana) which he absolutely loved it! Overall, I think it was awesome and the prices weren't bad, considering it was in a theme park!
The restaurant is very colorful and nicely decorated. The food was good. We tried different options. Mel's Meatball Mountain tasted freshly baked, and the crust was crunchy. One of our favorite things to eat was the Minions Swiss Roll, ir was pretty good, sweet and tasty. The PX-41 Punch was disappointing because it tasted like medicine. Overall, the restaurant was amazing to see.
From the second you walk in you are greeted with minions adorning everything. It's so well themed to our little yellow friends. As a fan of minions it's almost unreal to be able to eat here. The food, service, and atmosphere were so cool. We really enjoyed everything we ordered. The minion tots are very good and actually homemade. The cheese ray steak sandwich was also very good. The pimento cheese and caramelized onions really gave it a nice zing. The stuffed meatball pizza was absolutely amazing and I will order it again The fluffy unicorn cupcake is amazing and Tastes like freaking bubblegum. The teddy bear cake is adorable but it's the only thing I didn't enjoy You need to stop in and check this place out if you are in Florida visiting universal Studios.

Bananarama ***Spoiler Alert*** the food is Awesome. I wasn’t expecting much from the minion Café, but I was pleasantly surprised! The Philly cheesecake, sandwich and rope of Viejo were flavorful and satisfying, and the kids love their mac & cheese. The atmosphere is fun, with all the minions and silly decor, making it a great spot to eat. The service was good too, and the kids even got a banana from the minions– they were thrilled! Definitely worth a stop for a tasty meal and a lively setting. Papoy! Yum Yum.
Macaroni was delicious! And the minion themed drinks were delicious (but VERY sweet). My husband also loved his beef and cheddar sandwich (he said definitely better than Arby's) Things that were NOT good: swiss roll/banana desert. Pork bites. Minions tots. Super cute decor.
This was really fun and probably some of the best food that you can get inside Universal. Everything is ordered through the app although they do have a counter for anyone who needs assistance. We love the pork belly sandwich as well as the banana dessert. Deep fried cauliflower is also phenomenal. I prefer the tater tots to the chips because the tater tots are well seasoned and not like your typical tot. It's fun, it's clean, it's a little overpriced but that's pretty standard for theme parks... Overall this is something I would recommend especially if you're in Universal studios for the day.
Minion Café at Universal Orlando is a great spot for Minions fans, offering a movie-like atmosphere with fun and immersive décor. The attention to detail is fantastic, making you feel like you’ve stepped right into the Despicable Me universe. From the bright colors to the playful Minion-themed elements, everything is designed to be visually appealing and photo-worthy. If you love Minions, you’ll definitely enjoy the experience. The staff is friendly and welcoming, they will bring you the food after you place the order online, and they are also very mindful of guests taking photos. One of the servers asked if I was ready before removing my noodle cup, which was such a sweet and thoughtful touch. It’s clear that they’re used to people snapping pictures and want to make sure everyone gets the perfect shot. The café is also clean and well-maintained, which adds to the overall pleasant dining experience. When it comes to the food, it’s just so-so in terms of taste, but the creative presentation makes up for it. I liked the specialty drink "the Antidote" tho. If you’re visiting for the themed experience rather than just the food, you’ll likely have a great time. It’s a fun stop for a casual meal, especially for families and fans of the movies. While the food may not be the highlight, the decor, friendly staff, and immersive atmosphere make Minion Café worth a visit—especially if you’re looking for cute photo opportunities and a fun, lighthearted meal inside Universal Studios.
I did like the food, I got the vegan / plant based cauliflower wings, and we got the salmon as well with the guacamole hat. Both dishes were good, but for the quantity and quality of course is over priced. For people who are NOT tech savy, they wouldn't like this place as you have to order from the app directly. There is no ordering physically. It's was easy, but some people really get mad over this. 🤷🏽♀️ There was no wait for us, and we got the food rather quickly. This is more for the fun of it and for your kids to enjoy. Don't expect amazing high-end quality.
The restaurant has an intriguing concept where you order via phone, which adds a modern twist to the dining experience. While this reduces interaction with the staff, it allows for a seamless process. The food was excellent my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed every dish. However, our children weren’t as impressed with their meals, despite really enjoying the restaurant’s lively atmosphere. Overall, it's a great spot for adults, but it might be worth considering kid-friendly options on the menu.
This is definitely a Universal Theme Park restaurant. The Minion Theme is cute and they food was actually very tasty. The prices weren't awful. $20 per adult and $10 for kids meals. We also got a Minion Cake for dessert.
Illumination's Minion's Cafe is a fun themed restaurant. They have creative minions dishes which is interesting for children. The food was pretty standard for a theme park It's also a nice spot to cool down.

The theming and cleanliness within the restaurant was exceptional. The service was fast. My drinks came just a few minutes after ordering. The staff looked really happy to be working there which I think really is awesome. Let's talk about the food. I did my research before coming to Minion Cafe, so I know what to order and what not. The best food item you can get is Agnes' Honeymoon Soup ($14.99). It was flavorful and I could finish the whole thing by myself. The second best dish is Uncle Dru's Belly Fillin' Pork Sandwich ($15.99). The portion was generous and it was delicious. I wish there was a bit more sauce inside the burger and the minion tots was a bit crispier though. For desserts, I got Otto's Pet Rock ($8.99). This dessert has great potential, but there should be a layer of a thin sponge cake at the bottom. It felt like I was just eating pure peanut butter mousse with jelly. A solid layer to hold the mousses together is needed for it to be great. A friend of mine ordered Mega Minion Cake Rock ($8.99). Umm .. how do I explain this. It was truly a rock I did not think it was edible. We took a few bites and threw it away. Don't waste your money on this. Lastly, we ordered PX-41 Punch ($7.99). This is the best themed drink you can get here. Just don't mix the cream and the lemonade together. Instead, ask for a spoon, scoop one bite of cream in your mouth, and take a sip of the lemonade after. You're welcome! If you order PX-41 punch, you can wash off the cup in the bathroom inside the restaurant and take the cup home. Just make sure to not make a mess for staff member to clean up after you. We all are good people. Another thing to mention, if you want extra spoon or napkin, you have to ask the staff member. There was no plastic spoon or napkin station at this place. Fun full of banana yellow new cafe at universal. The food are so yellow like the minion. Taste wise they ok, the cauliflower crispy can use a bit more oven tie to soften the cauliflower, the noodle taste a bit doughy. The salmon taste good and fresh and I'm a bit surprised with the minion roll they could have use white chocolate for the eyes. Overall it's good but pricey experience. It's Banana 🍌.
It was our first time visiting this cafe and for starters, the interior was beautiful. Everything was colour coordinated to match the Minion theme. Even though the cafe was extremely busy at the time we went (noon), the servers did a great job accommodating our party of 13 promptly. After seating us down, the server notified us that we had to order through the Universal Studios app. The ordering process itself wasn’t difficult as we already had the app, but we did have difficulty scanning our table number before sending the order out. We tried multiple times before giving up and typing the table number. The food did take a while before arriving, and the kitchen also forgot to send one of our entrees out which resulted in a longer wait time. Other than that, the food itself was quite delicious and cheaper than the meal we had at Jurassic Park (pizza combo with a side of Caesar salad for $18.99 USD). I ordered the Mel’s meatball mountain ($14.99) whereas my cousin ordered Agne’s Honeymoon soup ($14.99) and my sister ordered El Macho’s Salsa ($16.99). The meatball stuffed pizza was very filling with lots of meatballs and mozzarella. I was able to share my meal with my other family members and still be full. Overall, the aesthetics of this cafe and food itself is quite nice and I would recommend this restaurant if you’re visiting Minion Mayhem.
We got ottos udon and the grilled cheese with minion tots and the evil minion drink. The minion tots were the best thing we got from there and the drink which was strawberry kiwi flavored! The noodles didn’t have much flavor and the grilled cheese wasn’t satisfying. Overall the experience was super cute though and the cafe was adorable
It was a fun experience, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the price. I ordered Agnes’ Honeymoon Soup and a side of Minion Tots and the total was over $20. For the pricing on the tots ($5.49) I was expecting more but only got 5. I was seated immediately but service was very slow. Just as an FYI, you order your food via Universals app and you type in your table number so they can bring it to you. The food was pretty good, just pricey. I found the soup to be a little spicy which I liked. The atmosphere was very cute and it was nice to sit in the AC for a bit.
We only stopped in for a quick snack and, for what it was, it was cute. I feel like they could’ve added some more “ambience” by making the screens in the main area by the entrance interactive or just videos/movies. The mobile ordering system is convenient. Although, the service seemed a little slow for the food we ordered (2 desserts and some minion tots). The music was energetic (and helped lift our spirits). And the posters and the “easter eggs” were a nice touch. Overall it was cute (but there is definitely room for improvement).
Super cute vibe, lots of minions-themed decorations. The food is mediocre. I don’t think Stuart Szechuan chicken is authentic Szechuan style in any sense, the feather hasn’t been pulled clear (so slightly disgusting on skin), both chicken and noodle are too dry. The banana dessert and drink are fine, not bad. Their cool looks definitely add on to its taste.
Not the best restaurant, but a good quick eat when you’re hungry. The food wasn’t nothing to shout at. My steak and cheese sandwich was delicious, and the minion tots were also good. The atmosphere didn’t feel very “minion”, but it’s the best they could work with. Place was clean, employees were nice, but this wouldn’t be a first choice when it comes to restaurants.
This cafe is super cute! I got the meatball mountain and it was great. Everything we got was delicious. The only complaint I have is that it was a 50-minute wait from ordering to getting the food. Definitely would recommend it, but not if you're already hungry because you will be waiting a long time.
Enjoy your time here!
Listen...it's theme park food and that's pretty much never going to get you anything above good to pretty good. I'll start with that. With that said... I had the French dip sandwich with Minion tots. It was pretty good. It's like a beef n cheddar from Arby's but with more of a burger sauce. Kinda struck me as strange for the first bite or 2 but after I got used to it, I liked it. The tots...aren't tots. It's basically fried mashed potatoes. They are good in concept but definitely could use more seasoning as they were a bit bland. And I got like 6 of them. Not a proper serving, I don't feel. They could and should give twice what they do. My wife had the Szechuan Chicken and while she thought the chicken was dry it had good flavor and was seasoned well. We tried 2 of the dessert offerings as well, the Swiss roll and Otto's pet rock. The Swiss roll was tasty with banana and pineapple as the main flavors. Definitely recommend this. Otto's rock was different. I'm still not entirely sure what I think of it. Lol It's, essentially a peanut butter mousse, strawberry jelly in a banana cake and lightly dipped in chocolate. I don't think it was bad, just not sure if it is for me. You can definitely do worse than Minions Cafe. I'd recommend it, the food is good enough while the atmosphere and staff provide a fun dining experience.
The food is either decent or flavorless. The noodle bowl was basically just wet noodles. No flavor. It looked like broth, but it was just water. The meatball mountain was one of the better things we had. The desserts were neat and pretty good. The banana Swiss roll with the banana cream at the same time was a good combo. Most food at Universal has little to no seasoning and it was true here. Bring salt and pepper.
I expected a more immersive experience from what I saw online. We went during the dinner hours and it was almost like it was closed. It was almost empty and no staff to be seen. Scanned our order in and someone brought it out. Nothing special at all The menu is fun and had some interesting dishes but execution was not solid. Again, this did not hit my expectations at all and probably will choose a different restaurant next visit.

A very middle-of-the-road experience for being such a new dining area at Universal, I probably won’t come back to Minions Cafe on my next trip. If you have any more than 2-3 people with your group, I would highly recommend planning to eat elsewhere. WAIT: The process for mobile ordering to eat at a table inside is phenomenal. The best part of our experience. We were served menus quickly and had our order taken quickly, but then the almighty wait occurred. It took us 45 minutes to get our food which we could tell was recently warmed. And if it wasn’t for the outstanding waiter who wasn’t waiting our table inquiring about our order, I think the wait would’ve been much longer. SERVICE: The service in general was top notch and felt personal. It’s a shame our order was forgotten about because the waitstaff was on it. FOOD: The food was… disappointing. It was overly sweet with little in the way of a solid taste. My French Dipped Sandwich had tons of loud flavors (caramelized onions and the like) that were mushed together to create this really blasé tasting sandwich. It was really odd. Strangely enough, I enjoyed the little Minions tater tots the most. They were just barely salty and felt like they’d be awesome with some dipping sauces. ATMOSPHERE: It’s a factory kitchen theme. It’s not great. The wait staff is dressed as minions, as you’d expect. It’s either yellow, blue, or stainless steel inside. Feels akin to a cafeteria rather than a comfortable eatery. But I guess that’s also the Minions vibe too, I suppose? Pro Tip: If you must eat here, make sure you bring your patience with you. It’s hectic right now and I have a feeling it won’t get much better with little to take crowds away from this area after so many attractions were shut down the past two years. The little shakes look pretty fun, too.
Decent and affordable meal for a Universal park. Some dishes were better than others, Mel's meatball mountain was the best dish tried by the party. Ropa vieja wasn't great, sandwiches were bland. Cute ambience, kinda annoying to sit through a meal with minion-themed music though.
The food had some unique tastes that are peak theme park flavor. I found myself questioning why they opted for a bubblegum flavored cupcake instead of a vanilla one that appeals to everyone. Dru's pork belly sandwich was very appealing, albeit greasy. Wait wasn't too bad but if you're looking for a real dining experience this isn't that (you have to order online). Good for a novelty treat but maybe not for coming again.
Although the theme is very cute and the restaurant is quite unique, the food was a bit disappointing. Agnes tomato soup was lukewarm and at the same time the tomato gummies got dissolved. Clearly the soup was just sitting in the kitchen without being served. It was quite expensive for a soup too. The flavours were there though. I would recommend visiting, probably it was just a fluke.
Ambience is great, exactly what one would expect from a Minion-themed restaurant. However, the food is not that good, and they were severely understaffed when we went there. It took over an hour for them to bring two already-made pastries and some tater tots. Completely unacceptable to wait that long when you want to be enjoying the park.
Even by theme park standards, this place isn't great: - Service is slow. Food took almost 25 minutes to come out - Portions can be small. Uncle Dru's pork belly sandwich in particular is tiny - It is really hard to get free water - You are forced to order through the app, which is buggy Overall, the food quality is pretty good though. Shame that it's ruined by inattentive and slow service.
The employees are SUPER nice. Kiersten took our order and he was amazing! The food not so much… but overall, the atmosphere and employees were really great. Food came out quickly.
The place was clean, very cute, and definitely a go-to for Minion Lovers. However, the food wasn't very flavorful. I'm guessing this would be a great spot for kids or adults that don't like/want any surprise flavors in their meals. Unfortunately it just wasn't a win for us. We loved the experience, just not the food.
My food looked and tasted horrible and there was hair on it. They were late giving us my friends food, and so they gave us free dessert. There was hair on the dessert.
Complete thumbs down on the ordering system. why do I need an app for everything? Then I couldn't get the app to work. Then I couldn't get the credit card to work. Then I have to label our table number. So annoying. Haven't even gotten the food yet. Order said complete after the appetizer came out. Minion tots for the win. Otto's pet rock was good too. Pimento cheddar was a fail. Disappointed with the steak and cheese. Disappointed with the mini melt. The Otto Noodle Bowl was liked. The salmon was liked.

The food’s brutally overpriced, flavorless, and took 15 minutes __after__ the order tracker was marked completed to get delivered. Imagine paying 50% more for 40% less “food”. 4 other tables next to us had similar visible irritation
It was an experience. You HAVE to have the mobile app to order. Don't go hungry, as this was terrible! There is much better food in the park. Presentation was nice, place is clean and neat looking, lots of minion stuff, but the food was awful! Universal, you should have kept the Monster Cafe! Better food and the memorabilia was amazing. Thumbs 👎 on this place.
Food is absolutely abysmal. The Otto noodle bowl in reality looked nothing like the picture. Rather than using whole cuts of pork like advertised on the picture they used the shredded pork from the sandwich. Additionally it advertised as udon noodles but they're blatantly egg noodles as they're the wrong colour and texture. Lastly, the egg was completely hardboiled and over cooked.
This is the worst restaurant I have ever ate at. First off, costumer service was horrid. The treatment we received was insane. They stalled and didn't give us water until AFTER we requested for the fifth time. Next, the food is horrid. The chicken was raw, with blood on it. I cannot make this up. The egg tasted like rubber in the noodle meal. And when we asked politely for more water and food that we ordered, the server went "what now?". Please, for your sake do not go to minion cafe in universal studios. Btw, we got the raw chicken AFTER my friend asked for no chicken. Unreal.
We were excited to check out minion's Cafe for the first time. Greeted and seated immediately. We ordered ahead so the food arrived shortly after we were sat. Food quality was better than expected at first. Halfway through the pork sandwich I felt a strange texture, then after dissecting the sandwich I found small metal shards within it. I immediately informed the staff and had a manager follow-up. I told her that I felt something stab my gum and likely ingested some of the foreign material. She took the plate and started she would inform the proper people to get that checked out. No further follow-up or offer to replace the food was made. This was a disappointing experience overall but hopefully not a common one.
The Staff was very inviting and the server(Adam) that helped us with ordering was extremely helpful. Unfortunately, we waitied well over 40mins before the manager informed us that the app used for ordering was no longer working, as food orders from several guest were not being sent to the kitchen for preparation. Restaurant personnel asked about our wait time & order, and told us that our order would be put in. Within 20mins, our food arrived. The Steak & Cheese Ray Sandwich was salty, probably from the nacho cheese-like sauce. The side Banana Chips, which tasted like bland plantain, were a little on the hard side. Otto's Noddles Bowl lacked flavor, however the broth seemed to have the most flavor. Uncle Dru's Belly Fillin' Pork Sandwich was anything but. Pork was slightly heavy on the salty side and sweet. The Minion Tots were, "different". As that is the best way I can describe it. Not an entirely bad flavor, just an interesting texture & different flavor from the expected "tot" flavor. Minion Swiss Roll. The "banana flavor" was very tart. The swiss roll wasn't bad with a hint of pineapple. As mentioned before, several other guest had similar ordering issues. However, the manager seemed to pick & choose which tables to help "make things right", offering free desserts to guest, others were offered Express Passes. We were given tall glasses for our complimentary water
