Was visiting some friends on Orinda and they recommended Social Bird for dinner. Sat at the bar to watch some tv and have a bite to eat. Tried the Lamb sliders and chicken sliders. Both we delicious and the drinks at the bar also didnt disappoint. Service was excellent and the establishment had a great atmosphere.

This place was very good. They have a large wine menu. They had lots of dog friendly patio seating. I very much enjoyed my prawn and polenta bowl. I could definitely see myself eating here again if I was in the area.

This place is definitely a happening spot! The American food was delicious, with plenty of options and everything cooked perfectly. Drinks were made just the way we like them. They also gladly accommodated a change to our reservation so we could dine at a time that worked perfectly for us — very much appreciated. There are three outdoor seating areas, and we especially enjoy the one out back for its relaxed vibe. Great energy, great service, and a great experience overall. We’ll be back for sure!

I started coming here a few years ago when I lived nearby. Now that I live elsewhere > always make it a point to come back. The steak is my go-to. Tender and tasty. The cocktails are top notch and go beyond what is on the menu. Service can be slow at times and the bar itself very noisy. Sit outside and you will love it.

Had a great Sunday lunch at SB. They Have limited patio and indoor seating for COVID but they take reservations, so we were seated promptly. I'd have to say I don't give 5 stars to most, but this place deserves it. The super fresh oysters and seared ahi tostadas were my favorites. And the mussels, lamb sliders and braised short rib Sandi were delicious as well. The s'mores tart as recommended by our server was absolutely amazing! They also have a generous selection of beers on tap, wine and full bar with house made specialty cocktails. Awesome, friendly service! Place is 110% up to COVID restaurant standards. Will definitely be back. Love Esin and Revel now love Social Bird.

We love this place! The truffle fries are amazing and the cocktails are always so fun and delicious! Whenever we think of eating in Lafayette we think of this place first!

Always so good. Oysters are super fresh and some of the best I've ever had. The coffee is also amazing after a full meal. I love their small bites options. The staff here has been great and so personable.

Amazing food at great prices… a perfect spot for artisan food after a fun day at Hurricane Harbor… The most friendly staff . Gigi is so friendly and accommodating for the roudy children… farm to table. Great beer on tap and amazing appetizers. We will come back every chance we get away from the city…

We sat at the bar and our bartender (I don’t recall his name, but a dashing older gentleman with a hunky beard) took care of us. His Bourbon (yes, capital B) prowess was impressive, alluring, and dare I say… intoxicating. Haha! It was an incredible evening of good food, incredible friendship, and wonderful drink. Highly recommend the chicken sliders. SO tasty. My buddy had the wagyu burger and loved it. The desserts were incredible too.

It's a real good American restaurant with good variety of everything good quality, value and services. Large seating inside including bar seats. Full bar service with verity of wines, beers and cocktails. Limited outdoor seating /patio. Great atmosphere for couples date night, small groups, gathering and meetups. Delicious fresh foods. Waiters are listening and responsive with honest suggestions. Paid parking lot in the back plus paid street parking available. It's a comforting semi-fine place so either make a reservation or expect some worthwhile wait time.

Excellent food, excellent vibes, excellent service. The king salmon tartare is great, while I'd recommend the Lamb Sliders or Steak Frites for mains. The food is always consistent and the service is always quick and super friendly. Highly recommend although it is on the pricier side.

2nd Visit: Once again great. A must try is the chicken sliders. The biscuits the sliders are served on are amazing. Will be coming here often for more. One thing I missed last time is the option to ask about "Today's Pasta" due to it's placement on the menu. Very happy we noticed it this time. Our server David was extremely nice and helpful! 1st Visit: Definitely worth visiting. I had known about this restaurant for a long time but assumed it was going to be unreasonably priced and portioned. The pricing was definitely fair to the quality and the portions, along with many different options on the menu to chose from. I went after many suggestions from friends and it was great. Most of all the staff was extremely kind and considerate with prompt food delivery even during busy lunch time on a Saturday. Will be going back for drinks and to try more from the menu for pictures 👍

We had decided to stop in for a drink or two after finishing up at a late lunch on Sunday from Batch and Brine. This area is super cute. Very walkable with tons of restaurants and bars. The bar was busy. I can see why. The cocktails were AMAZING. The bartenders definitely knew what they were doing. We sat at the bar and everyone on staff was On It. Super friendly and knowledgeable. We didn’t order food, but the couple next to us did. They got the wings and slider with fries. It looked delish. We will absolutely be back to try the food. Overall vibe was great. Patrons super friendly as well. Our Cosmos were made to perfection. We will absolutely be back. Such a surprise and delight. Thank YOU!

The food here is high quality in a casual environment, the service was excellent, and the menu was simple—compliments to the chef. I came here with my parents, and we shared all these dishes: Oysters: super fresh and tasty, worth it Steamed mussels: this was a highlight of the meal; the sauce was delicious, and ask for extra bread to dip in the sauce Petrale sole on mashed potatoes (daily special): this was savory and delicious, and the mashed potatoes were perfect wagyu burger: the burger was juicy, and the fries were crispy; also super high quality Everything here is delicious, and I'd come here again. Service was excellent, prices were reasonable for the quality, and parking was pretty easy in the area.

Excellent local spot! The Happy Hour is incredible with lots of drink options and yummy bites. Not to mention $1 oysters! This has quickly become a local favorite of mine and look forward to weekly visits. Service is excellent as well, with table seating, outdoor dinning and bar seating as well.

Update: oysters are $1.50 now. Still a deal. Fried chicken was a bit disappointing and sad looking. Tasted ok though. Awesome happy hour in a great space with two large tvs. $1 oysters are always a win, bar area is fun and lively. Lots of beer options and different cocktails. The cheese board was delicious. Will definitely come again!

I wasn’t sure what to expect since it took a while to get seated and it was SO BUSY inside around 2 pm! A hostess guided me to a side outdoor patio where there was respite from the noise and an available two top. There’s a garden in the back but I didn’t check it out and a wraparound bar. The server was awesome and friendly and informed me that everything is fresh, farm-to-table and delicious. He was right! I got the vegan bowl and added chicken. We also subbed feta for vegan feta but several bites in, I tasted blue cheese!!!! He confirmed and swapped out a new plate, comped me a soup of the day (lentil), and it was overall a wonderful experience even considering the mistake of trespassing blue cheese.

Then when the short rib arrived each bite was melting in my mouth perfectly. I am a good cook my self and I am very critical when it comes to restaurants and this place excels. The chefs here must be, I don’t know, the best. The drink were good too. I wish I was a food critic.

Nice business lunch. Well hyped spot for food and drinks. It was certainly well above average, but I wasn't wowed by anything. The way multiple friends talk about this restaurant I was expecting something special. Do not take this as a negative, I will certainly come here again, (and again) but temper your expectations if you've been in the type circle. The food was all well prepared, service was good - as one would expect for a restaurant of this style and budget - drinks were also enjoyable. The garden does the best is can with the space, although be aware of backs onto the parking lot, so the odd dose of exhaust was an unpleasant addition (plus the noise). This isn't a negative judgement, just for awareness - it's not their fault. Like I said, I will certainly come here again. I'll sit inside, and now I know what to expect I'll be very happy.

My husband and I went here for the first time this past weekend. We were actually going to Batch & Brine but it was closed. Maybe because it was Easter Sunday. Anyway, we spotted this place across the street and decided to give it a try. We got seats at the bar and were greeted right away by the bartender and given menus and ordered drinks. We ordered the Korean style chicken wings, arugula salad and the burger with fries, all to share. The bartender asked if we would like the wings and salad first and then the burger. I really appreciated that attention to detail. We were able to take our time to enjoy the absolutely delicious wings and salad. There was a nice period of time before the burger came. My only criticism is that the fries were dreadful. They were blonde at best and totally saturated with the oil. If I had to guess, I say that their fryer wasn’t hot enough. I really hope that someone from the restaurant reads this and makes an adjustment. Good fries are such a treat. We will definitely go back though.

We were impressed with the fast service and cleanliness. The food was satisfying and the presentation was good too. We came because it was conveniently located and near where I went shopping.

This is a relatively new spot in Lafayette and it sure looks nice and new. The staff are friendly and sincere even though they might not be trained extensively. We had the Korean wings which had great crisp and sauce, the Wagu burger which had amazing beef patty and cook to perfect medium as requested the bun did not look impressive but was actually quiet well for the burger for fries we got the truffle fries which is significantly better than regular but still was not what I would consider top tier and finally wild mushroom with prawn (not exact name) which was below expectation.

Food came out hot and fast. Bar service was extremely busy but still fairly decent. I ended up trying the short ribs and the meat was very tender with the vegetables being crisp. Good spot for a bite to eat when you find yourself in the neighborhood.

The restaurant is located in Lafayette Mercatile. A sort of upscale in the Lafayette Area. There’s plenty of parking however there is a fee. And we didn’t see public parking across the street until after we ate (nope I don’t know if there’s a fee also). The food: it’s good. I ordered the pasta special for the day. It came with rainbow carrots, brussle sprouts, and can add protein. So I added Salmon. It was delicious! Salmon was cooked medium rare which was perfect. Glad our server recommended it. Among the group, we also ordered avocado bruschetta, truffle fries, fried Mary’s chicken breast and biscuit sliders, and cod tostadas. For dessert I ordered the toffee apple crunch cake (I think) sorry this was new on the menu. Anyway, it was satisfying. I loved how the cake was warm not hot and then you get a taste of that toffee crunch. I’d say pair it coffee or latte fter your meal or…before. Service was excellent! Our server was on top of it. She gave us the specials of the day and got down to business. Food came fast. Only thing I had an issue with was it cost almost another meal to add protein if your meal didn’t come with one. It was pricey but I should have known since we were in an “upscale” area. Overall, the experience was great. Note if you are seated by the front door (the table with multiple seating) and there are only three or four in your group be prepared to sit with others. I don’t mind it, as long as people don’t stare at you.

Cute place and great food...but... The service was super slow. I had intended to spend an hour there and we were definitely there for over two. Our first dish was the oysters and they were great, but it took them over 30 minutes to serve them. It also took forever (probably 20-30 minutes) to get a box and the check. - 1 star As for the other food: The fish fry Monday had slightly soggy coating, but the fish itself was super flaky and a great texture. The truffle fries were also great! They had awesome flavor and were the consistency of well done fries at InNOut. 3 stars The outside patio was nice, but there weren't enough umbrellas and it got really hot in the sun. We had to move the table just so it was semi comfortable. - 1 star
