We were delighted to find a restaurant this morning that served more than just breakfast (a silly rule in many restaurants). It was pleasant to sit on the terrace, but the only annoying thing was that next to the table was a pile of dusty, apparently spare, furniture.

This French bakery and restaurant is an absolute must-visit! They have an incredible selection of fresh, delicious pastries every day – truly anything you can think of. The menu is fantastic for any meal, whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and they also have a full bar to round out the experience. The dining area is beautifully set up with a relaxed, upscale vibe, and the ocean views make it even more special. Perfect spot for a romantic date, brunch with friends, or just treating yourself to something amazing.

gorgeous view! we got lucky and found parking on right outside (can’t promise that will happen again in the middle of summer but it was a nice surprise!) pastries are made in houses every day, which is a very nice touch. When I asked for a coffee, a fresh batch was made served piping hot-not lost on me as I’m from New Zealand and LOVE good coffee more than life itself. The fresh almond biscotti Kia mentioned was perfect! Not too sweet and bursting with flavor - tasted handmade like it was made that morning or afternoon.🥐💕💕 Abraham and Kia we’re very hospitable and welcoming! they invited me to look around to find the best seat with the best view. Very cozy and warm experience. I’m looking forward to going back as soon as I’m in Laguna Beach again!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this gem in Laguna Beach, and it was truly exceptional! From the moment we made our reservation, which was super easy and convenient, to the free parking spots behind the building (a rare find in Laguna Beach), everything was perfect. The view is absolutely stunning; it feels like you’re dining right next to the ocean, with a beautiful tree adding to the charm. The staff is incredibly friendly, and we were lucky to be served by Austin, who, despite being new, was outstanding and made sure we had everything we needed. As for the food, it was amazing! We started with their bisque crab soup, which was perfect for the chilly weather. The octopus was delicious and had a texture almost like chicken, and the mango dressing that came with it was so good that we asked for extra. We also tried the ahi tartare, which was delightful. And for dessert, they have an impressive selection of sweets, and if you’re celebrating a birthday, they’ll even bring out a special dessert for you. They also offer a lovely tea service with unlimited hot water, which was a perfect way to wrap up the meal. I’ve been here for brunch, lunch, and dinner, but this visit was truly exceptional. Highly recommend!

I love multiple restaurants in Laguna Beach, CA. Most of these restaurants offer the beach view along the coast. This French restaurant also a baker which they have a good selections of bread, ect…..we can enjoy a beautiful sunset view while sipping on our wine.

We had breakfast at a charming spot in Laguna Beach called C’est La Vie — and the interior is straight out of a fairytale. Think pink chairs and a dreamy, princess-like vibe. I loved it! We sat outside since the weather was perfect, and when we arrived around 8:30 a.m., it was quiet and peaceful. By 10 a.m., the place was packed. The bakery items were pretty good. I ordered the lobster eggs Benedict, which were tasty, although the muffins were super tough to cut through. My husband had sunny-side-up eggs with sausages — he said the sausages tasted a little off, but otherwise it was fine. One thing to note: they have free parking in the back, which we only found out after paying for street parking. So if you’re going, skip the meters and park in the back! Overall, it’s not the best food we’ve ever had, but the ambiance is lovely, service was fast, and it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in Laguna Beach and want a cute breakfast spot.

The service was great. The food presentation was beautiful, but the taste wasn't quite there for the salmon, mashed potatoes or brussel sprouts, not much seasoning. But everything else tasted great. The fresh bread with butter was very yummy. The desserts were very yummy also. Location of this place was great, right on the beach. You could sit inside or outside and enjoy the sunset. I'd recommend this place if you're looking for a nice view to eat on the beach.

The staff was friendly and accommodating, no complaints there. I’m giving 4 stars for service, but only because it wasn’t exceptional. It was… ok-ish. Nothing to write home about Everyone in the reviews keeps mentioning the ambiance. Tbh, to me, it just looked more like a Temu version of what a fancy French restaurant is supposed to look like. The furniture’s tired, there were spider webs up on the ceiling (wish I didn’t notice it), and the rugs looked like they survived several eras and their “cute” pink chairs have seen better (and probably cleaner) days I’m sure. As for the food… I was really hoping it would make up for the lukewarm interior. Unfortunately, it didn’t. Just like the decor, the food felt like someone binge-watched some fine dining tutorials on YouTube and was like “Yeah, I can do that.” Spoiler alert: they couldn’t. The result wasn’t impressive at all. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad food, it’s just regular food dressed up for a gala it wasn’t invited to lol It’s NOT the kind of food you would want to splurge on and enjoy slowly. It’s the kind of food you eat because you’re just hungry. I genuinely hope the owners take this as constructive feedback: either bring the quality up to match the prices or bring the prices down to match the quality. Cest La vie!

I saw a special menu at the front of the house but the server claimed there were no specials. Dated, old, dirty. Lobster bisque didn't have one shred of lobster. $70 for French onion soup, Bisque & 1 salad. The view off the back deck was great.

This one was our favorite place when we visit Laguna, but today we had a bad experience. We finished eating (5 people not cheap) and when we were waiting for the rest of our party outside one of the waiters came out and said “I know you came just for the bathroom but next time you can come and eat” We answered we just finished eating and the guy just said “I did not see you” very unprofessional behavior and even decent enough to apologize. Definitely we will not be back.
