Wahoo's Fish Taco

The original - albeit remodeled and expanded a few years ago. Really just a perfect inexpensive casual dining option. Very fast - excellent and very consistent food quality. Great for families and kids. Perfect friendly service. Very healthy and great vegetarian options too.

This place has old so cal surf/skate charm and the food is decent. If you're looking g for authentic Mexican, this will be far from it but it was pretty good for Cal-Mex. The taquitos were greasy and gross but the beans, nachos and tacos were good.

The food is AMAZING and the atmosphere is so fun! They also give you free stickers if you ask. Their was no wait and is not crowded. I also recommend to walk there because you won’t find good parking.

This place offers delicious, fresh food that is quickly prepared, healthy, and affordable. The staff is incredibly nice as well. I would love to see a location open in New York! It would be a fantastic addition to the city. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a great dining experience.

The food was a great fusion of flavors that taste amazing. The atmosphere is great with the beach literally behind you. And the decor in the building and the paintings in the patio make it a great place to get a bite.

Hands down one of the best food experiences ever, considering it could be labelled "fast food". Service with a genuine smile in the Laguna restaurant and the food is excellent imho. When one can differentiate the herbs and spices used to flavor the sauces and dishes alike, then somebody has definitely checked all the quality boxes. I have not yet returned after my last visit in 2020 but can only vouch for their staying power and uncompomising delivery when we were there for our annual fair visits from 2013 on. So a must visit each time we attend the so called Namm show. We will return for sure.

Walking by on our first day in Laguna Beach we saw this sign and had to drop in during our stay. We ordered Shrimp Tacos and Maui Steak Bowl. We would have stayed but we wanted to go to the patio of our hotel. The food is delicious and the service was amazing. If you ask, they might even give you a Wahoo sticker. This is a great bargain for your meal and the quality was perfect. Next time we will dine in, the atmosphere was great and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Will return. Oh and just walk in and down the stairs to order.

The food is fresh and the portions are healthy. The grilled fish taco is good but a little dry. The Maui bowl is delicious. There is seating inside and there are 2 outdoor patios that are so pleasant to sit out on.

Really good burritos! Had the outer banks and it was soo good. They also sell beer on the tab which you can drink in the outside sitting area. Really chilled. And best : it is super cheap! I will be back :-)

I had the spicy fish tacos which were tasty and ceviche which was superb 👌 i was impressed, good food for a reasonable price. I wish I would of found your place at the beginning of my stay. This place was recommended by a local we met at the beach. Great place, great location, great vibe, and most importantly, great food. I sampled everyone's food that was with me and no complaints. Highly recommended.

The food was fast & fresh and had a very laid back environment.

The fish tacos were delicious and extremely affordable ($3.50 apiece?) Would definitely try again and recommend to others looking for a quick bite in the area. Star only taken away because the bathroom (while clean) was in some disrepair. Try this place out!

I totally used to love this location, but recently I went and I felt the place was particularly unclean (sandy, bugs flying around, etc.). The staff is super friendly and the food was delicious, but I was definitely uncomfortable as I was eating.

The original fish taco place in Laguna. Grilled fish tacos are the best. The soda fountain was broken at the time of our visit. Views of the ocean are possible, but it's best to get food to go. Then just walk down to the beach or sit at the scenic view point just below at the adjoining street. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bathroom was not clean when my wife went to use it. Although she suspected some kids had made a mess there just before her.

Disappointing for the price. Spent over $60, but 3 out of 4 of our meals were incorrect (wrong meat and/or sides).

Great spot to watch the ocean. Very clean. Friendly staff. Food was ok. The veggie dish had a sweet teriyaki sauce which wasn't that appetizing but the fish seemed good quality.

The place wasn't crowded being off season Sunday.

They maybe should have opened another register. The ice machine was jammed and they had to bang on it to get it to work again. Luckily for me, I had ordered a bottle of beer...which they didn't bring to the table even after the two times I reminded them about it. My friend ended up getting up and going to the kitchen to get the bottle for me.

Ok food and atmosphere. Based on the name I was hoping for more fish Mexican selections. It is basically an express restaurant with limited selection. But what we did get was decent.

We have been to many wahoo’s all over the state and in Colorado and the experience here was less than below average I would like to use the excuse that it’s Fourth of July, but with the two other tables around us complaining about their food I think this particular store and it’s management needs to revamp what they’re doing and somebody needs to come in and taste test the food. In addition, teaching the employee Customer Service would go a long way

We had a bad experience at this restaurant. First, there was no one at the entrance, and there was a sign that said we needed to order downstairs. We went downstairs, and there was a youngman who DID NOT UNDERSTAND OR SPEAK English. We did not know how to communicate with him. He did not even talk! He was just nodding with his head when we asked about something. The order was wrong. He didn't understand what we wanted. Fish tacos were not good. The food was tasteless. Service was bad. I don't know what's wrong with those people 🤣🤣🤣

Not too impressed. Visiting family and they said we 'had' to go and have their food. It honestly tasted like it came out of a bag and dumped into a fryer. There was a teeny tiny view of the ocean but mostly saw a big wall and their building. They were out or nearly out of sauces and the tea tasted like it had sat for awhile. For a locked and coded only bathroom it was not clean. $45.00 was way too much to pay for what we got.

Had been a number of years since we've had Wahoo's. Figured we were in the area so why not. Kid working the register had zero personality to go along with his zero people skills. Wish I had caught his name. Saw him perk up a bit when some teenage girls walked in. Food was not good at all. Had a burrito, tacos and nachos between the three of us and we were all disappointed. Like many other establishments, the quality is just no longer there...at least from this location.

Absolutely AWFUL customer service. Not only did I wait a half hour (store not AT ALL BUSY, dinner time, full staff) for 3 tacos and a soup, but they got the entire order very (almost comically) wrong, and on top of it all, overcharged me. No apology. A complete failure of service at every level of the interaction. They need to clean house and hire people who give half a damn about doing right by people.

I have been visiting Wahoo's for over 30 years. It was one of the early - and the best, with superb quality - popular fish taco restaurant. The quality was universally excellent. The last few years, the quality has consistently diminished. Today was the most disappointing yet. We ordered fish tacos and a fish sandwich. The "fish" consisted literally of 80%batter with a smidgen of fish. There were areas of the fish patty that contained no fish at all. I am writing this review (I almost never write one and even more rarely a negative one) in the probably vain hope that someone at wahoo's will read it and strive for the previous high quality I became used to. Because, I truly miss Wahoo's. And where I went today (and my last few visits) ain't the wahoo's I knew. Very very disappointed.

Food took more than 30 minutes to come out. It was cold and tasted bad. My friends burritos didn't have guacamole which they paid for and the onion rings were cold which were also extra.
