Contemporary Grounds at the Contemporary Resort offers a convenient location with monorail access and walking distance to Magic Kingdom. Guests rave about the friendly staff and clean rooms, with theme park views and fireworks visible from some rooms. Some find it pricey but worth it for the location.
Tip: Book reservations weeks in advance, as the restaurant is often at capacity. Theme park view rooms on higher floors offer great views of the fireworks.
Delicious lunch with excellent service from Isabella! We ordered the Stack Burger and Gourmet Grilled Cheese. Both were very tasty. We asked for the condiments on the side as my husband is a picky eater and our order was made perfectly. Everything we ate was great. Isabella was exceptional. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely ensured everything was to our satisfaction. Highly recommend.
First time visit and couldn't fault it. The food was amazing, the server was amazing, asked for slightly custom food and happy to sort us out. The atmosphere was great also, it wasn't too loud but not hear a pin drop noise levels. Recommend the burger and steak sandwich
Never disappoints. Consistent great service and high quality food. The filet was tender and cooked to perfection. Salmon was very good. The wedge salad is simple and classic. Gina was one of the best servers we have ever had at Steakhouse 71.
We wanted to do dinner here but there were no reservations available during the time frame we wanted. So we tried a lunch reservation. The food was excellent, the waitress was very attentive, and service was quick. We had a very pleasant time. This made me want to try and get dinner reservations here at some time in the future. Note: WDW has a 60 day limit on making reservations. Make them 60 days out from the day you want them. Start at 6:00 am. There are several restaurants that reservations are taken quickly, so be ready.
Let’s get it out of the way right now: yes, it’s a little pricey. It’s a Disney restaurant. BUT, in terms of Disney restaurants, Steakhouse 71 is a very very good value. Got a drink at the bar while we waited for our reservation time and for the table to be ready—the French 71 and the Blackberry-Orange Spritz. Both were excellent. Emma was our server and she was amazing. We got the onion rings for a starter, which were absolutely phenomenal. The dipping sauce alone was excellent. We both got the 6oz sirloin, which were cooked well enough. The mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese were both amazing—but definitely go with the red wine sauce. 15 layer chocolate cake for dessert which was just as rich and tasty as it sounds.
Excellent, no notes. I had to order a second French Onion Soup because my kids ate most of my first one. The medium rare Center Cut Filet with Au Gratin Potatoes was amazing, and same with their signature chocolate cake. Highly recommend. I don't understand why someone would complain about the prices at this restaurant, it is pretty standard high end steakhouse pricing in my opinion, especially for this quality.
Steakhouse 71 is a favorite place to brunch. It's even better when you go with a friend who likes to share. Our server, Brian, enlightened us on the history of the Contemporary Resort and the restaurant which was an unexpected delight. We started with fresh assorted pastries that were of sharable sizes. The entrees, delivered in a timely manner, came out hot and freshly made. The portions were ample sharable. As for the drinks, the fishbowl margarita exceeded expectations.
Went here a couple months ago for my birthday. Teddy was our server, and he was wonderful! The food and drinks were great too. I really appreciated having the vegetable wellington as an entree option! Highly recommend the mashed potatoes and creamed spinach as sides.
As far as Disney restaurants go this place was amazing. We did have to make a reservation weeks in advance to get in though. The waitress we had was so helpful and friendly and gave us great advice on our stay. We all really enjoyed our food. My prime rib was so flavorful and the au gratin potatoes were perfectly cooked.

We love coming to this restaurant when we are at Disney. The filet is always cooked properly and seasoned perfectly, and I love the wedge salad and salted brioche bread. The carrot cake is amazing but that 15 layer chocolate cake... ca c'est bon! Love the mid-century modern yet cozy feel of the space. Staff are always over the top nice and attentive.
Had dinner at Steakhouse 71 and it was fantastic! We were celebrating completing a mystery pin set and shared the 1971 Sunset fishbowl cocktail, it was refreshing, delicious, and definitely did the job! We both had the French onion soup and wow, easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The photos online don’t lie!! It looks amazing and tastes even better. I ordered it based on reviews and it lived up to the hype. We also ordered the salmon (the fish of the day), and it was excellent, full of flavor. Not even vegetarian, but I went for the vegetable Wellington and was blown away!! The puff pastry was perfectly flaky, and the filling (mushrooms, artichokes, etc.) was tangy, flavorful, and super satisfying. The roasted Brussels sprouts, onions, and tomatoes on the side were just as tasty. Would 100% come back just for that dish. Big shoutout to our server Missy!! So warm and friendly, felt like chatting with a friend. She was amazing at connecting with guests and gave honest, thoughtful recommendations. You can tell she loves what she does. Highly recommend this spot! Great food and great service!
All our food was fabulous from appetizers to steaks and sides! Our celiac daughter also loved it, and they did an amazing job of accommodating her special needs. They even had gluten free bread to start her meal! Justin was an amazing server who kept our food coming at just the perfect times and had us well supplied on drinks! His recommendations were also spot on. My family and I highly recommend, and we will definitely be back!

Plenty of seating between 9:30-11am on Friday. But some of the lounge chairs aren't ideal for short people (high table alignment for elbows). Food was good and hot coffee was excellent. I had the steak and eggs. Pricing was respectable given that it was within a Disney Resort. I would visit again.
If I could give more stars for service I would. We had a rough day with our daughter not feeling the best with an ear infection(shes 13). She didn't eat much and kept her head down the entire meal. Alex our waiter noticed and asked if she was OK....not in just is her food ok but he seemed to care. We explained and he was so compassionate and so incredibly helpful with tips on getting us back to our hotel quickly. This was by far our best dining experience of the trip not only because Alex was amazing but the food was wonderful!
Steakhouse 71 was an absolute standout from start to finish. The atmosphere was classic, comfortable, and welcoming—perfectly blending modern Disney elegance with a timeless steakhouse feel. The food was outstanding across the board, cooked perfectly and full of flavor, making it a truly memorable dining experience. What truly elevated the night, though, was our server Anthony from Long Island. Anthony went above and beyond in every way—attentive, personable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making our evening special. He didn’t just provide great service; he sprinkled the magic. From thoughtful recommendations to impeccable timing and warm conversation, Anthony made us feel like VIPs. Dining at Steakhouse 71 is already something special, but servers like Anthony turn a great meal into an unforgettable Disney experience. We’ll absolutely be back—and we’ll be asking for Anthony by name. ✨🥩🍷

We booked a short stay here, in a garden wing room. The room was only a short walk from reception (you had to go outside) but the bonus was it was right near the swimming pool! We overlooked a car…
The food and the service were both great! Specifically the crab cakes and the mac and cheese. Don't get me wrong, everything was delicious, but these two things stood out to us. Room was a bit loud, so it was hard to have conversation, but looked nice. We did also love the sauce flight.
Firstly, our server Giselle was very good and made our experience a pleasant one, so these criticisms are not geared towards the service at all. Thanks Giselle! That said, I ordered the prime rib with au gratin potatoes. The first bite I took of the steak was phenomenal, but whoever seasoned it seemed to do so very inconsistently, as a small part of it was extremely flavorful and then I crossed a line where all I tasted was steak. Thankfully I had the sauce flight to help out, but I’ll save you a few bucks and let you know the horseradish cream and red wine sauces steal the show - the other three didn’t have much going on. The potatoes were very good, but the star of the show needed a little more TLC in its seasoning. The wedge salad was very good. The atmosphere needs a little modernization. We thought it felt like a cafeteria or an airport lounge more than a steakhouse restaurant. It feels very dated. Overall, it’s pretty good. The prices are reasonable for what it is, considering it’s in Disney. I would probably try it at least one more time.
A great place to escape from the chaos of Magic Kingdom or a great place to come in general. And if you partake you can get an actual cocktail. I love the 1971 Sunset and the “tropical juices” is POG juice. I used to really love getting the Club sandwich. It was replaced by the Turkey BLT. It was okay but not as good as the club. And note: if you hate mayo, the blt comes with it even though the menu doesnt say that. Im not a mayo fan so i really would have liked the menu to say that so i could have ordered it without.
We had a reservation for 18:45 on a Monday Night (Holiday) - we had to wait about 25 min for a table. We had a party of 7. The atmosphere is LOUD. It really is one large open room. So sound doesn't bounce anywhere and it's hard to hold conversations at large round tables. Our server was Jacob and he was cool, except he went through the specials and highlights so quickly and quietly we didn't hear them all. The biggest complaint I have is that you pay for the bread service ($12) and the brioche buns aren't even warm. They were cold. Not sure if this is normal, but I wouldn't get them again. I say pass on the bread service. The fish of the day was salmon and it was dry, but the additional items on the plate were hot. So that was a bit confusing. for drinks - they have great cocktails but be warned - they are STRONG and SWEET! The desserts sounded fantastic - we shared the chocolate cake - which was decent. Everyone who had steaks said they were great, so I would try a steak next time. Thanks for a great experience tonight and celebration!
Worth visiting if you are staying at Contemporary or are in the area. Highly recommend making a booking early as the restaurant was at capacity when we were there, but thankfully we got allocated a booth which definitely made us feel slightly away from the crowd. The prime rib was good, the steak was decent and the desserts were really good. Definitely got a bit greedy and ordered the Mickey chocolate cake but it was actually really tasty and worth it if you have a large group. Not a cheap meal by any means but the service was attentive and the ambience was good, which led to a positive experience for us.

We've heard mixed reviews about Steakhouse 71 so we decided to try it out for ourselves. The service was great and at the price point the food was solid, too. The sauce flight was a fun way to sample the different sauces and mix up the flavors. It's definitely worth a try and we'll be back.

A delicious, but definitely pricey meal. We had a wonderful experience with Amy. She made us feel welcome and was very knowledgeable about the menu. We started out with appetizers and ordered the Potato Brioche with butter and bacon jam, as well as the Onion Rings. I think I was expecting a tower of onion rings and not 5, which felt a little measly - delicious, but measly. For the main, I got the fish of the day which was salmon. And it came with seasonal vegetables and a orzo risotto. The risotto was the star of this dish - fresh, and light. The salmon on the other hand was salty, slightly overcooked, and the portion was too small for my liking. So the main was a pass. For dessert, i ordered the carrot cake cheesecake. Again, the portion size was on the smaller side especially when compared to the specialty chocolate layered cake that is their specialty. The flavour again was delicious, but the size was smaller than I was expecting. Overall I had a very delicious meal at Steakhouse 71. But for 170$, its sad that a part of me was leaving still feeling a little hungry. Would I come back? Maybe.
3 of us ate here for dinner on a Monday night. The hostess was very sweet and friendly. We were seated at a decent table. It’s a pretty loud restaurant because it’s such a large space. We ordered a couple cocktails and a non alcoholic beverage. We also ordered onion rings and a wedge salad that we all shared. Both were very good and there was plenty to go around. For an entree I got the chicken and substituted macaroni for the potatoes with bacon jam. I didn’t get a veggie because of the substitution. My daughter got a strip steak med rare and the loaded mashed potatoes and my sister got a sirloin with mashies and the 5 sauces. My daughter loved the strip and said it was cooked perfectly. My sister said her sirloin was ok. I really liked my chicken and macaroni. But…we weren’t offered water refills, only my daughter was asked if she wanted another cocktail. Bread should come with a meal this expensive and a salad would be nice but I’m not holding it against them. Our server was a little short with us but we aren’t sure the reason or if that’s just how she is. We won’t return because we have other choices and it just wasn’t the experience we expected.
This restaurant used to be a convention center so it is downstairs in the basement with no windows, no walls to block sound, and strange quirks throughout. For the prices, it’d be nice if they refurbished it a little more… small bar with lots of eyesores leftover from what it used to be. Would be nice if you could have a conversation but it’s just too loud.

The potatoes were delicious. The steaks were okay, like to me, not anything crazy. Drink were good and creme burlee was definitely an interesting combination of flavors. Honestly it was very expensive and I wouldn't go again. Mac n cheese was okay. I was surprised the crab cakes were the bets thing on the menu. Super thick and tasted like real crab. The bread was also very tough and dry, the butter that came with it was delicious it definitely needed it.

I only take time to give negative reviews when I think it will help the establishment. I decided to dine here because I thought that a steakhouse at Disney’s Contempoary Resirt would be an easy 5 stars, but I was very underwhelmed. The atmosphere was OK, and the service was OK, but the food was not. The burger (that I had heard was great) was not anything special at all. The fries were not good at all. Not crispy on the outside or soft on the inside. Even after I ordered a fresh batch. The wings (which I was in the mood for some good wings) were terrible. They were so big I would not even consider them restaurant “wings”. They were so big that they didn’t even get cooked all the way through & there was red blood near the bone. I’m not sure what sort of chef thinks that is appetizing. Even if they were cooked all the way through, they are not enjoyable to eat. Please give me 6-8 good wings at a “nice” steakhouse instead of 4 jumbo wings that suck really bad. If they were “confit” wings or confit duck wings that were that big I would understand. I just don’t understand how an executive chef would put this product on a menu. I will gladly remove the review when they improve their offerings.
Quite literally some of the worst and chewiest steak I’ve ever had with the saddest portion of French fries. I ordered medium rare. This was our Christmas lunch! I searched through pictures of the steak frites before ordering and the presentation looks like it used to be much better with waffle fries. WILL NOT BE BACK! The chocolate cake was amazing though and so were the onion rings. We made steak so much better on my stovetop the following day, save your money

Pros: Location, retro vibes, service. That's where it ends unfortunately. Cons: NOT A GENUINE STEAKHOUSE EXPERIENCE. Selection is limited. Portions are dismal and seemingly not as described on the menu. There is a severe lack of standard steakhouse offerings. No lemon in my water, no bread and butter. No sauce that isn't an upcharge. If there is a signature sauce, let me see some on the table. Steakhouses should have nice, decorative garnishes for their drinks, heck maybe even a coaster to put it on. As a bartender I know how people order with their eyes, if they see something vibrant or eye catching the drinks sell themselves. My Bloody Maria came with 2 olives, no lime, no celery, no pepperoncini. BORING!!! I don't want to pay 12$ plus tax and tip for bread and butter off the appetizer list. The loaded baked potato soup was thick like a chowder, not a soup but edible, despite it looking like it died in the window before it made it to my table. My 12 oz prime rib was anything but 12 oz, MR or appetizing. I didn't even cut into it. The sauce portion was roughly 3/4 oz, and didn't taste like any Au Poivre I've ever had before. The grilled asparagus was sad and minimal. The sautéed mushrooms were adequate enough, but I think once you order an upcharged second side they skimp on the portion of the one that came included with the price of the entrée. The replacement 10 oz NY strip was anything but 10 oz, it was nowhere near the standard one inch thickness, had no color, zero flavor or seasoning, and no heat/warmth. I could get a better strip steak at Waffle House. It felt like it slid across the grill on the way to a plate. My husband salivated over their menu for days and unfortunately his meal was also not worth the anticipation.
