Cool place, we go all the time for concerts, wwe, monster jam. The areas is the hear of huntsville centrally located and hosts a wide variety of events. WE WERE RECENTLY THERE FOR A HOCKEY GAME too. Afterwards you can walk to big spring park and enjoy the downtown. The security is a little extreme and excessive tho. But everything is clean the only issue I have is the seats are too small. For anyone over 200lbs. I'm fit 215 and it's very tight to sit. I can just imagine how you would even fit at 250 to 300 lbs.
We have been to a few concerts in this arena. The sound is definitely better on the floor or in the lower seats than in the upper level. The higher up you go, the more muffled the artists sound. I definitely recommend lower seating if you can do it if you want the best overall experience. We love going to concerts here.
I hadn't been to Propst Arena at the VBC for many years before tonight. I have to say, they've made changes over the years and it is absolutely awesome! I'm looking forward to the next event I'll attend there. It is wonderful.
They have a bag check if you don't have a clear bag
The event was great, the support staff and security was awsome! We will visit again for future events!
Went here for a Skynyrd/ZZ Top concert. Was my first visit to the Von Braun (and Propst) since a 1979 Ted Nugent show! Very clean, very courteous and helpful staff and vendors. Also, great acoustics for a live concert.
I have been attending concerts here since I was 6 years old. I love it. Just saw Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ top a few weekends ago. And Disney on Ice after that. Definitely a multifunctional venue.
I love attending concerts here!! Nice, clean, easy to navigate and the parking isn't too far away.
Heart concert was great!!
We love going to Havoc games here. Very nice and clean place.
Great place if you looking to drop your blades on the ice for a hour. Fair prices. Sometimes schedule varies and not always available for all skate. Great place if you looking to join Teams and games
We saw Crowder!!!! Amazing!!! The worship and praise in that arena absolutely must have had our Lord and Savior dancing with joy. We took our children and felt safe! 😀 The sound was great, the vendors were extremely helpful and nice. Overall it was an awesome experience
I love going to events here. It's so easy to get in and out of !
Attended a Havoc game and boy was I surprised. I did not expect a college-football type experience, where the crowd was VERY into the game. Truly enjoyed it and might look into purchasing season Tix. Plenty of parking in the garage or in the immediate area, easy to get in, very organized screening. Concessions, of course, were somewhat $$$
This was our first hockey game. We instantly became fans!
Havoc hockey is always a good time!!! LET'S GO HAVOC!!!
Excellent venue. Friendly staff. The AC Hotel by Marriott is a 4 minute walk through Big Spring Park. Perfect!
Super easy parking. Arena is easy to navigate once inside with clear signage and helpful staff. Nice selection of local beers. Acoustics were great. Love seeing comedians here.
Went to see Huntsville Havoc play, we will be back!
Great concert venue with inexpensive parking near by. So close to Big Spring Park that you can take a stroll at the park before your concert or other entertainment you are going for.
Huge, spacious arena, many concessions don't take cash. Debit only. Wonderful seating, sounds system is incredible. Plenty of people to help you find where you need to go. Very clean, plenty parking 🅿 mostly at$10 spot. Enjoy your show here. It will be unforgettable. Amazing, and smoke free
VBC has really improved the Propst Arena. A great location for shows, ends and graduations. Very friendly staff & concessions folks. The acoustics in the arena itself could be improved though.
I have to admit that being disabled and crippled, it was a Job getting into my seat and having little leg room. But overall we had a good time.
First time visiting the Propst Arena the experience was nice seating was uncomfortable for people with a handicap I didn't notice if there was an area if so next time I will make sure to ask.
Watched Heat concert. Drinks, of course, were outrageous. Concert was great!
Arena was okay. Katt Williams show was excellent. Arena staff was also very helpful.
Love going to the hockey games and everything was amazing
Propst Arena and the VBC is one of my favorite indoor music venues. Offering ample opportunities for parking getting in is always a breeze, once inside you can expect a well kept venue with tons of friendly faces. The workers really make the night even more fun! If ever given the chance I highly recommend visiting at least once regardless the event you will not be disappointed. (The little guy at the entrance of the ground floor seating at the 90s show was the sweetest kiddo ever I enjoyed joking with him and he was always very helpful)
Very nice! It's beautiful all lit up for an event. Was impressed with how the officers welcome you in! Very Nice Touch! Nice venue
Came to see a Havoc game. Always have a good time at this Arena. Always clean and very organized. Had a great time.
Had a great time at the Havoc game. Arena is pretty nice and the seats had drink holders which is nice. Plenty of food options inside to choose from. The sound effects and lighting inside the arena were top notch. They played great music and sound effects during the game. Getting in and out wasn’t too bad, we parked across the street at the $5 lot versus paying $15 at the arena which was fine.
They have really made this area around the Prost so nice. Lots of food choices inside. Great fun!
We’ve attended several hockey games and one live show at this arena, and each visit has been a fantastic experience. The Havoc hockey games are always exhilarating, packed with nonstop action, and never a dull moment. They also host fun events throughout the season, like wiener dog and small dog races on the ice, which add a unique and entertaining touch. The one show we saw here was Jeff Dunham, and it was absolutely hilarious. The stage setup was impressive and provided a great view, even from our seats on the opposite side of the arena. Ticket prices are reasonable, but for the best deal, I recommend purchasing directly from the box office to avoid Ticketmaster fees.
Went for my nephew's highschool graduation. Very cold on the inside which I thought was amazing! Sound was great. Snacks were your typical venue fare, nachos, cheese fries, funnel cake, chicken tendies. The front end did a great job controlling the crowd, doing the metal detector check it was a great visit
Went to see Riley Green, Tracy Lawrence and Ella Langley. Not sure there is a bad seat in the house. Comfortable seats too. I appreciated the security of the arena as well. Some may see it as an inconvenience, but I didn't. I had on steel toe boots and they had me take them off to verify nothing was in there. I appreciate that and it helps me relax and enjoy the show. Easy entry and friendly staff. Highly recommend attending your favorite event here!
There was another great event at Propst Arena. We attended the Rocket City Classic tonight. 🚀 We watch the Auburn Tigers play basketball. It was their first time back in Huntsville in 20 years. They played North Carolina Asheville. There was a sold out crowd there to watch them play. It was a great game. War Eagle. We also got to see 18 exceptionally special young people take the oath to join the military. They will go off to basic training in a few weeks. God Bless them & God Bless the USA. 🇺🇸
We had Huntsville City Schools institute there at VBC. The parking was horrendous due to construction on the parking garage. It is an awesome place. I worked there for 17 years. Great venue foe concerts. We had a good return meeting for HCS staff. Great speaker. It will be good when they finish the garage.
I went with a friend to the NF and Cordae concert. It was AMAZING!! the venue is well lit in the stairs as seen in my video. The bathrooms were extremely large, and very clean. There were tons of drink and food options that were available along the corridor, as well as plenty of staff and security to help you with anything you needed. My seats are at the very top in the very back, The View was still amazing, the venue did a great job about not piling the equipment hanging from the roof in front of the cheap seats.
Entrance waiting area was chaotic for the first 20 minutes. It was free jersey night and no one knew where the line started and people were just milling around until some staff members came out and organized the entrance.
Place was clean! We went to see Katt Williams this last weekend. Its hard to find your seat when the lights are off and security is no where in sight when you need em to make someone get out YOUR seat. The people making drinks had no gloves or used any kind of sanitizer on their hands, but other than that its a nice area.....
I was at a concert it was kinda hard to get up the stairs but I am not an able bodied human. So that as you will. It was a nice place to sit even though so more leg would be nice
Venue was spacious & clean with bar drinks and concession style food. Only see through purses are allowed so be prepared for that! We were there for a Huntsville Havoc game and enjoyed the experience.
Compared to other arenas of similar size, this one is great. The only issue I have is with the sound system in the arena. It seriously lacks bass and depth. It sounds like lots of cheap speakers. Other than that, the staff is great, the concessions are pretty good, the seats are ok in the lower bowl, a little small in the upper deck.
We saw Saint Asonia, Theory of a Deadman and Skillet. They were amazing and I'm so glad we came but it might be good to eat before you come to events here. The food wasn't great and the nacho cheese was basically yellow water.
Nice place with a great location. Looks like they are completing construction projects inside the facility. Great place for Huntsville.
For the past year have gone for home hockey games, the biggest problem they had was they only had one set of concessions stands for regular food and drinks opened on each side of the arena and they were under staffed and that made for long lines and slow service at times. But they did make sure the beer stand was fully staffed and quick.
Great sound quality. Didn't look like any seat was a bad view of the event. Seats are a little cramped, so arm space is limited.
Clean staff was nice. Biggest issue was the seats in the hockey ring area are small and cramped. I left after 3rd period so I could regain feeling in my knees.
We saw Jeff Dunham and his show was very entertaining. It was very cool in the arena and we all wished we would have brought in a jacket. Otherwise we had a great time.
We went to the Katt Williams Dark Master Tour here. First time visiting. It's an older arena, but it still feels clean. The process getting in was quicker than I thought it would be. We did not have the best seats, so it would have been better if they had larger screens. They were too small for such a large space. Concessions were a little limited: chicken strips, fries, popcorn, pizza, nachos, and fountain drinks. They have a full bar, though, for your adult beverages. The best thing about it is affordably-priced tickets.
Saw Ghost here in September 2022. Amazing concert but terrible security. They seemed totally unprepared for the amount of fans attending and seemed to have no clue what to do with cues/lines/waiting. Multiple rude comments geared towards fans who were doing nothing wrong/being super calm including comments about the band playing. I had GA tickets and my tickets were not checked, everyone who wanted one was just handed a GA wristband. At the end of the concert, when we were picking confetti up, we were immediately yelled at to get off the floor. Same with merch lines after the show, we were rushed to get merch and leave as soon as possible. I assume due to the nature of the band most of this was biased security, but it was totally unprofessional. Love Ghost and Huntsville, but I would want to see them somewhere else.
Attended a concert here. Sound was distorted for attendees high on sides of the uppermost level. After descending to the upper concourse level, it was good. Groups gathered at the bottom and we listened to the remainder from the concourse. Although this is largely due to the configuration of the sound system, presumably by the performer, the venue should identify this problem and restrict the seating. Stars given are for the overall venue, which appears great for other seats and event types.
Very limited handicap seating and difficulty getting to higher seats having to walk up all the stairs with a disability
The atmosphere for Havoc games is fun and the food is good and hockey is pretty entertaining. The music played pre-game especially all the mixed dance versions of everything are horrible and give me a headache. I don't understand why they need to ruin Freebird with a terrible base thumping version. Nobody I talk to likes it at all. This is Huntsville, not LA or NY and we prefer it that way!
Over priced venue. Sound quality is lacking. Zero cash accepted so bring a card. Parking isn't terrible. Atleast most the staff are friendly.
I went to a concert here. The music was so loud, you couldn’t even enjoy anything. I have concert-specific ear plugs, and I covered my ears the entire time. You could still hear everything crazy loud!!!!! I’m a regular festival/concert goer, and I’m used to being up close in front of speakers. The VBC was insanely loud! I ended up leaving early, and you can hear the singer’s lyrics as clear as day outside the building and across the street in the parking garage!!!!!! My ears hurt terribly when I woke up the next morning. Do yourself a favor and bring ear plugs and ear muffs if you ever attend a concert there. I will never again purchase concert tickets to Props Arena and idc who’s playing!
Some of the rudest in venue security I have ever encountered. If they hate their job that bad , they should quit. One was an absolute jerk to me and my child. With that being said, the concession staff and parking staff were great. Just terrible security. I cannot stress that enough.
So the venue is a great size and layout for watching a concert but there is a huge issue that makes the venue almost unbearable - the seats are super narrow. I don't just mean a bit snug, I mean that no slightly-above-normal-sized person can comfortably sit in them. I am a moderately chubby guy but my wife is super skinny and both of us were uncomfortable. On my end, I had to literally peel myself out of the seats and rip skin off my love handles in the process. For my wife, she barely had wiggle room and said she felt trapped. Otherwise the venue is fine and located in a good area.
Security here is terrible. We had a couple behind us that was drunk & belligerent. We had Security come to our ringside seats to assist & they couldn't get the couple under control so we left with 3 matches to go.
It's a crying shame & just WRONG in every way that the seats aren't designated or made to accommodate big or heavier customers. They pay for a seat that they can actually fit in & be comfortable just like everyone else! This venue & all others that don't have ALL of their clients/customers in mind should be ashamed of themselves!!! It's a downright travesty!!! THIS NEEDS ADDRESSED & CHANGES MADE!!!
Saw a concert here which was fantastic, however the security nearly ruined the experience for everyone. Yelling at people for genuinely no reason, acting like people who couldn't make it through police academy so they became security guards just for the power trip. They were in no way ready to handle the volume of people for the Ghost concert and there was NO organization at all. You could have easily bought cheap backseat tickets and walked in with the front row crowd because no one checked tickets. Forgot to give out bracelets and did it last minute. Didn't know where to send people based on ticket type. Genuinely horrible, all of us there were angry and talking about how bad it was. Luckily Ghost made up for it. I will NEVER be back here for a concert.
I wish I had realized how horrible the seating is at this venue. We were in section 307, row F. The seats are at such a steep angle that I could not sit there without feeling like I was teetering on the edge. Anyone with the least bit of fear of heights would be in for a miserable time.I had to listen to my favorite band from the lobby. I was devastated.
This has met the minimum lawful requirements for the handicap accessible laws. Minimum. It was a horrible experience in a wheelchair. The parking is far away and the elevators led to a steps to get out of the garage. At the furthest end there was a ramp. Then you have only one place to cut across a busy road for a wheelchair. Then the wheelchair ramp is used by extra foot traffic by people who were able bodied. Then for my daughter's Graduation I had to sit alone because the family could not sit in the one area that was wheelchair accessible. I will never attend any event at this arena. This minimum access arena barely meets the legal requirements for accessible.
Neither my husband nor I liked this venue. There are very few lower level seats, forcing most people to sit in the upper level. Who designed that? The upper level seats are at a very steep incline and aren't wide enough. If you have any fear of heights, don't bother with the top level. We couldn't sit up there and left before our event started because nothing was available in the small lower bowl. Overall, a lousy, poorly designed venue that should be torn down and replaced. We won't be returning.
Absolutely by far the worst seating of any Arena that I've ever been to and I have been going to arenas for different shows for over 45 years. If you want to try to sit there and watch a show not being able to move your legs a little bit then this is the place for you. Having some actual adult size seating would sure be nice. I will never attend another show at the Von Braun Center. It's worth every penny to make the drive to Nashville to watch a show with actual adult size seating and legroom
