Nice intimate atmosphere with low seating, small tables, and lots of random Korean Street foods on the menu. I tried their octopus burger, grilled squid, ramen nachos and a few other items. Everything was great! Their drinks were tasty..if you like textured drinks their jelly Sake was unique and tasty. My only complaint was the fries that came with the burger were marketed as truffle fries on the menu and they tasted like standard crinkle cut fries. They offer karaoke on weekend nights!
Delicious Korean appetizers and entrees. Incredible Kimchi. We tried the crispy octopus and Doshirak 도시락 lunchbox with rice, crispy seaweed bits, fried egg. My friend was pleasantly amazed by the Spicy Pork Belly 매운삼겹 Fresh pork belly marinated in spicy sauce cooked with onions and green onions. 100/10 friendly staff. The lavender espresso with almond milk is also a great recommendation
Been coming here for years, always delicious! Service is great and the menu has super tasty and really creative food. Lots of drinks too. The bulgogi ramen nachos, tuna sushi, and doshirak are especially good. I’ve never had a disappointing bite here! They have karaoke on the weekends and events regularly. Always a favorite spot!
Always delicious, attentive staff and great service! I’ve been going here for over 9 years! So great they were able to adapt to service us during pandemic times. Each table is secured with acrylic dividers, Temperature Che is and sanitizer station before entry. I always enjoy my time here and you will too!!
My husband and I have had this restaurant on our bucket list for a while and we loved it! From the upbeat k-pop music to the yummy food we had a great night out! We’ll definitely be back with friends for karaoke!
One of my favorite spots to go to. Great menu and good drinks and open late. The wings are so tasty. I advise trying the original or garlic flavor. The Buldak Cheese is very spicy but well worth it, it taste good with a side if rice. Inexpensive soju which is like sake.
Excellent place. Makes you feel like a thousand miles away, great tasty good, good quality meat ( didn't bite into fat). Great service and great atmosphere. Super fun place to go with friends. Experience something different !
Dinner with my brother and his gf. I loved how it was decorated. The food is all VERY good. The staff was nice, and seemed to be extremely happy to be at work? My only complaint is that the music was a little too loud. Sometimes we couldn't hear each other to have a conversation.
The little brother of Gabose Korean BBQ, Gabose Pocha brings the Korean street food experience to you in a cozy environment. When I had been there previously, the only alcohol offered was soju and wine, but now there is a fully stocked bar, with local beers on tap. As it had been a long week, I decided to go with a bottle of the New Apple Mango soju to start off the night and perused the menu for something filling to eat. Turns out I was very much in luck, because in addition to their small plates/street food, they also had air fried short ribs. I substituted the white rice that it comes with for ramen noodles, but kept the pickled vegetables that it comes with. The food turned out to be quite a large portion, which worked out well as I was pretty hungry. There was hip hop on the sound system and the servers/bartenders would bust out into karaoke every so often. I believe there's a set night that they usually do karaoke, but I'm not sure when it is. Be warned, it does get a little loud sometimes. I will definitely be back more often as this is extremely close to where I live and I had a great time. Hope to see you there soon
Great casual spot for excellent Korean food and drinks. Their Oden Tang, fish cake soup, was tasty and had a good spice level. Their fried dumplings with gravy were very good. Their pork ramen was tasty although it's different than having a thick bone broth tonkatsu ramen. The large tin can the ramen is served out of is unique. Both soup servings were abundant. The staff was excellent as well.
This place was SOOOO good!!! The drinks were delicious and the food was soo tasty. We had never been here and weren't sure what to get but the waitress asked us what we liked and as soon as we told her she recommended the most delicious drinks and food! The ramen nachos are incredible. They're crispy and cheezy and so yummy. And the other dishes I forgor 0_0 but I took pictures and they were cheesy and delicious. Chynna and all the staff tonight was sooo attentive and sweet and did an amazing job. I'll definitely be back for the good food and good service :)))
This is The place to go for Authentic Korean cuisine. I am crazy in love about this place NEVER FAIL TO AMAZE ME ALWAYS STEADY GREAT TASTE ❤️💕❤️💕 New pics as of DEC 15 20
This place is amazing, your temperature is taken on arrival and you are seated away from other people to enforce social distancing. The atmosphere and vibes are on point. I imagine this is what being in one of the coolest bars in Korea feels like. From the music to the food and the drinks you are in for a treat!
THIS IS SUCH A GREAT HANGOUT PLACE! Went here last night a bit around 10:45ish at night and omg so worth it. Places like these are most seen in Wynnwood but I never thought I'd find one here! The food was the bomb and drinks were so good! I'm coming back here again this Sunday with an extra friends for sure!
Wish they had more soju drink selection but i definitely recommend to try the apple mango soju. Food was also pretty good. it was busy so it took a while to come out. Karaoke at night was fun to experience. I definitely would go back here again.
I've eaten here a few times with my family and friends. I love this restaurant. The owners and staff make you feel like family. If you are not familiar with Korean BBQ. They go out if their way to reach you and help you along. I was very impressed with the level of service at the this restaurant. I always can't wait to go back. Side note though, it is a little pricey to cook your item food. But, it taste so good you forget that your doing the work yourself LOL 🤣.
What a great place for Korean bbq, they also own the place next door that opens later for drinks and karaoke. The place is well kept and clean, the staff is very friendly and made great recommendations. Cant wait to go back with more friends! Oh and the Soju! Dont take it lightly it gets you lit!
This place is a straight vibe. Be sure to hit the twin restaurant with the music. This was my first time experiencing a Korean restaurant. I wish they had places like this back home. 10 out of 10 highly recommend!!! 🥰🥰🥰
I love this place. It’s what I imagine a Korean Pub Bar would be. Great food, drinks and outstanding service. Do not hesitate. If you like Korean food or just want to try something different, new. Go to this Pocha.
This place is phenomenal. It is the 3rd time I have been there and I have never been disappointed. The must haves include the Bulgogli Ramen Nachos and the corn cheese. The atmosphere is lively, decorated beautifully and all the staff members are great.
5 star!!! The food is so tasty! The udon noodle soup is my favorite! The broth is amazing, a little garlicky, a little spiciness, just perfect taste. The shitake stuffed tofu was exquisite, the kimchi is very tasty and the spicy ramen is fantastic. The staff is very friendly and fast. I recommend to try the vinegar shrub. On Tuesday it's a BOGO for this drink! Very nice ambience.
Best Korean Spot in Broward! Lots of menu items and a lot of Korean street food. You can’t go wrong with any menu item. The interior design is great and the staff is attentive. A must visit if you’re a fan of Korean food!
It's a bit of a drive from my house (40 minutes) but I don't complain. The atmosphere is fun, food and drinks are amazing. My friends and I always get the watermelon soju bowl and Share plenty of finger foods while listening to kpop.
Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in town. Very unique and delicious menu, doshirak and bulgogi nachos are my favorites. Staff is always friendly. There's always a cool K-pop or rap song playing. I don't drink but it's cool watching Dani make his specialty drinks. Place is definitely worth checking out if you're looking for unique atmosphere and food.
Very cozy at the time I went. I mainly went for the soju with friends since if was late night. Had the seafood soup to sober up.
Tanya is amazing!!! I met her last night at In Ramen in Dania Beach and she was so cool! She told us about her bar and to come check her out. We were so glad we did! The venue is super cool & the food was top notch! Can’t wait to come back & hope to see her at In Ramen again! :)
I love this place. Food, staff, setting, etc. The only downside is how far it is from where I live in Pembroke Pines, but it's worth the drive. Some of my food favs: Bulgogi Ramen Nachos, Spam Butter Rice, Chicken Padak, Kimchi Tots. Do yourself a favor and order these, you're welcome. Pocha, whenever you decide to expand... come down to Pines! :)
I love it here! It's really chill, dark, and fun. The food is soooo goood!!! You also have to try the house made fruit infused soju (delicious!) I haven't tried everything on the menu (yet) but so far half of it is good. Keep an eye out for events too, there's sometimes a whole roasted pig for holidays.
I seriously love this place, everytime i go its a great experience. The audience that goes here is ways diverse, friendly and just different. The vibes and energy here is superb! As for the food 👌👌👌..If you love spicy food try the Spicy Ramen Soup, or the chicken wings, they both have some serious heat to them. For the entree, my fav is the Bulgogi Doria. This place is a hidden gem. They need to open a location in the Coral Springs/Coconut Creek area!!
Amazing food and great experience with the anime
This place has the greatest atmosphere and one of the best chicken wings i’ve ever had. The staff is so kind but Tanya was especially kind. They have karaoke and the vibes are immaculate.. Highly recommended !! 100/10
We visited Pocha and had a great time! Don't be afraid of what to order - the waitstaff helped us choose different foods that were all fresh and delicious and the mixologist puts on a show serving up specialty drinks. Our favorite was the Pocha wings, similar to Peking duck with crunchy skin and a sweet and savory glaze. We give Pocha 5 stars for serving gourmet Korean food and great service.
Always my favorite Korean barbecue joint! They have charcoal grills, not just gas which makes a difference in the flavor. Been coming here for years and will continue to do so!
Delicious food. Fun drinks. Great atmosphere. Fantastic watering hole to unwind with some friends. Korean food is absolutely yummy here. Surprisingly many vegetarian options as well!
I enjoyed the atmosphere and we had good service. Started with the soju (peach and apple) along with spicy korean ribs appetizer. The waitress says soju is their version of a lighter vodka. Light and refreshing taste, won't get you drunk but tasty. We then had dumplings with pork and beef, finishing off with the lemon pepper chicken shake bag (popcorn chicken sized). We enjoyed our meal.
I absolutely love this place! I've been here 3 times and every time I come the workers are very friendly and very helpful to answer any questions you have. I live down in Homestead which is an hour drive for me but it is so worth it for the spicy ramen which is amazing for any spicy lovers. The drive for me is so absolutely worth it.
Love Gabose Pocha I remember going there their first night opening it was amazing. Since I love Korean culture this was a great place that introduced me to authentic Korean food. If I could eat out often I would eat here all the time.
Delicious food, great drinks. Love the create your own cocktail.
I reserved the private karaoke area for my birthday (it's located in the beauty store right next to the restaurant). We ordered a ton of appetizers to share and they were all delicious! Our entrees were also amazing and generous portions. Multiple staff would come in to check on us and ensure we had drinks and everything we needed. One of our servers Amanda sang a few songs in the other room and she is absolutely incredible! I'm glad the employees here seem to really enjoy what they do. I had a wonderful birthday here and would definitely recommend the karaoke room for anyone celebrating. The prices were also excellent. Thank you so much!
Today I want to share something that I have experienced from this pocha which I have never experienced from any other pochas in the past and I have been to many pochas in different cities. Unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to taste their food yet but I have heard from people it’s pretty delicious but most of all I want make sure the owner knows that the manager name Ashly was incredible and such a big help last night. She went far and out of her way to help my friends to get home safely all the way assisting with Uber and everything Even after hours of operations she stayed til the end to help and assist everybody for their safety. I also want to mention her staff members were awesome as well helping her together. This pocha has the greatest customer service and support no other place can offer hands down. Once again I really want to thank Ashly and her staffs for everything last night and you were all amazing and super nice and very helpful . God bless you all and hope you stay there a long time and continue to provide awesome service and help for the customers. This place well deserves more than Five stars! 🙂👍
For a good year now, me and some friends take a 2 hour drive to come to this place. It's a beautiful spot, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is kind. It's wonderful for a late night meal when you want something hearty but sweet, depends on what you get exactly, however it's still good nonetheless. I just love the lighting of this place, and the floral decorations that hang from the ceiling, it's BEAUTIFUL!! Not to mention the cutesy Beauty store that's attached to the restaurant. If you're in the area and considering eating here, let this review be your deal breaker, go to Gabose Pocha!!!
This is such a great vibe. I stopped coming 2 years ago because of how bad service was, but this new staff is amazing! The ladies that work there are fabulous. The weekends are my favorite because of Karaoke. Not only can the ladies server, but they all can sing too Definitely suggest the wing, bulgogi ramen nachos, and some soju for first timers.
Tried a few weeks ago, loved the atmosphere and food was really delicious! Will definitely be back! 8 months later and still my default place for a great time! The karaoke was awesome and it seemed like the entire restaurant joined in!!! Thank you to the staff for their great service!
I’ve been going here for years now due to the super welcoming staff, fantastic service, and the most delicious strawberry soju, but Friday night I had such an amazing experience thanks to the wonderful owner. I brought my 7 month old son with me to meet with friends and didn’t realize it was karaoke night🤦♀️ When she noticed I had my son with me she offered to bring out a pack and play she had for her own nephew to use, and helped me set it up with the other staff members. She also let us bring him into a quieter area when he got a little overwhelmed, which let him fall asleep peacefully and let me stay later! Everyone was so overly accommodating, and my son had a blast too!!! I can’t wait to come back!!
Ivannna was the greatest server I have had here! I have a loyalty to another Korean BBQ restaurant I won’t name but Im about to add this place to the rotation solely due to her service (and the pocha peach tea). Lovely ambiance and wonderful service. Stoked she recommended the grapefruit soju! Big must try.
I love coming to this place! Has a very cool vibe. The servers are fun people and do a great job. Last time I went Angelique served us and she did wonderful. For the food, my favorites are the chicken in a bag with lemon pepper and the bulgogi ramen nachos! Definitely recommend to go with a date, friend or group.
I believe this is a family owned business since they have a hibachi grill next to this little gem. Food is good however there a not a lot of options to choose from. Staff was so friendly and fun, you will see mostly young adults on this establishment having a good time, there's a small bar and they usually have karaoke. I give them a five stars of creativity on all their food served and cocktails as well, my friend ordered the spicy ramen that came served in what looked like a lunch box ( really clever!) she stated it was delicious, me on the other hand got their rice with cheese and beans, I would never in a million years ordered such a simple dish but it was worth it!! We also got their jelly peach cocktail which I became addicted to. 9/10 I would definitely come back and would recommend they will show you a good time!
The atmosphere was lively and inviting. The staff was very understanding that members of our group were arriving at different times. And they were very accommodating. The food was delicious. We ordered their famous watermelon soju infused drink. They serve it in the cutout watermelon. A definite place to recommend and return!
I have to say the pork belly is one of the best things I’ve had. I didn’t know what to order so I asked my waiter (fell bad for not knowing his name) but he recommended it & I got a side of rice and some peach soju. Was absolutely amazing!!! Went here for a birthday before everything got crazy. Also they had karaoke which was a really nice touch. Also there is a marker across the street but we went fairly late so it was not open but I will be back again and I will order the same thing!!
If you're looking for Korean street food, this is the place for you. They have a great variety of Korean imported drinks as well. A chill atmosphere with good music and kind servers. I enjoyed the Ramen nachos and tteokbokki. Good portions that are filling and are reasonably priced
The service, food, drinks—all amazing! Ashley and Jessica are so sweet and attentive! Highly recommend!!! 11 out of 10
This place is AWESOME! The chicken in a bag lemon pepper style is the best. Honestly between this and the sister restaurant next door (Korean BBQ Gabose Korean BBQ) you can NOT go wrong. The ownership is great, food is great, restaurant is clean and service is awesome. THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE YOU SHOULD GO FOR KOREAN FOOD/BBQ in SOUTH FLORIDA. I said what I said.
Cool little spot! Very intimate but with really cool vibes. Definitely coming back
Love the new look, much classier n more chill, great service too, the food tasted amazing but it might have more sodium or msg than I can handle, I woke up super dehydrated and stuffed up 4 hrs after, recommend ask to hold it or put less salt if you are sensitive as me.
i’d been wanting to come check this place out for some time, last night i finally did. it’s a fun atmosphere with music, drinks, food, and people celebrating and having a great time. i ordered the grapefruit soju, and the brought it with a bowl of cheeseballs! the menu has a lot of really good items, and it was tough to make a decision on what i wanted to eat, as it all looked so tempting. i ordered the air-dried short ribs, and they were prepared and sent over to the table. they came in a bowl, with rice and seaweed salad as the foundation. these short ribs were amazing! i mixed in some kimchi and picked cucumbers and i was in heaven. the staff did a good job of checking up on me and i had a great time. i look forward to going again and having more soju and yummy food!
The food here is amazing! The buldak cheese and the ramen nachos are delectable, literally come almost every weekend, just wished they were open more days. Love the karaoke concept but wish it could be more private, it’s enjoyable to see but it can be hard to sit there when people start screaming in the microphone.
Wonderful experience! 😁 Excellent food, fun music. It was kid friendly and wheelchair accessible
Deliciosos aperitivos y platos principales coreanos.
Pretty chill spot definitely had some changes done to it. More of an open concept with the bar in the center. The nacho dish was a miss I get the idea but I fail to execute to be a nacho dish with the ramen. The chicken shake mix was the true winner of the dinning experience but the second order lack flavor compared to the first
Very nice ambience, friendly staff, excellent barbeque, great sauces, actually this was my first visit, but would want to visit again and again after the flavorful food that I had. But our waiter recommended lot more than we could eat, so 4 stars. We packed more food then we could eat.
To note: the restaurant is split into 2 different buildings. They both offer Korean food but this one is more appetizers oriented and seemed to attract a younger crowd. According to the waiters the place across the plaza is more centered on Korean traditional entrees. So that's what I'll be trying next time around.
Nice little bar/restaurant staff very friendly and they greet you when you walk in the door in Korean. Wasnt a big fan of the shrub cocktails but i really enjoyed the apple and watermelon soju. They gave us a complimentary Korean pancake and some chips to go with our drinks. I would definitely suggest this place for everyone to visit
Excelente 🔥.
Still love the food but the atmosphere has changed recently since the staff change. The music has been weird. They no longer play kr&b or kpop. Now it’s all American rock hip hop etc. I’m not sure how I feel.
Restaurant is right next to another korean restaurant but a different version. This place is more like if you wanted to go to a happy hour. Prices are really cheap and the food servings are great. It doesn't offer the usual selection of korean restaurants like pork belly and such but rather several side dishes that's great for drinking. I didn't put 5 star because they're cheap on their alcohol. I'm a lightweight and drinking one cocktail makes me woozy already but their drinks did not feel like they even put alcohol in it. Was ok with me since I went for the food. If you're aiming to get tipsy, be prepared to order more.
Average service, overcooked wings, ordered fries, didnt get it, short ribs didn't meet expectations. Only reason I gave 3 stars was because I like the ambiance. It definitely has that street type setting, which was cool.
I used to come here a lot like 8 years ago before I moved from Miami and the service was always top knotch and friendly, the owners very nice too. I came into town and went last night with a friend that had never been and was sorely disappointed. We were made to leave and given our bill (when we didn't ask for it yet) couldn't even finish our second bottle of soju before the closing time. They close at 12 on weekdays but we were made to leave at 11. On top of that friends of the servers came in and were given drinks as we as were being told that we had to leave. the servers also kept coming to us every few minutes since we got there to see if there was anything else we were going to order, rushing us to finish. They allow karaoke on the weekdays if you ask, I've done it multiple times before plus it literally says you can on their social media but when we asked they told us no. Lol it seemed like the staff just wanted to close and go home. I don't know if I'll visit again because of this but I'm hoping the service gets better in general. It would be nice if management could respond to this. Thank you!
The kimchi ramen was good, and so was the beer. It's impossible to chill and talk with someone though, the music is way too loud and I wanted to leave as soon as I could. There's loud and then there's LOUD.
Came on a Friday evening so It could of just been bad timing but the service was bad. Food took a long time and no side dishes unless you asked for them. The food was average and they had people doing karaoke ... Who were basically just screaming. Personally Not my kind of vibe. The cocktails came watered down. I'd love to give this place 1 more chance but I'm gonna need to give it some time.
Visited from out of town and all my friends in the area said this was the place to go. Massive letdown. The spicy ramen was not at all spicy and pretty bland. Could've had better ramen at home. The 떡볶이 was decent, but also could've made better at home. Service wasn't great. Maybe we were there on a bad night, but I wouldn't go back.
The food was subpar at best. I didn’t exactly like my meal. The waiters were pretty nice and waited patiently for us to order. However, one of the servers practically begged us for a bigger tip, which was a bit rude and made everyone feel uncomfortable. I probably won’t visit again due to this experience.
We went to the Pocha bar in the back parking lot. I think they have gotten a little too big, customer service has taken a hit. This place was much nicer when they had just a 10 list menu. Food is incredible. However, again, customer service sucked. 2 orders were wrong, and apparently the server thought it was more important to sing karaoke AFTER I asked for the check, and the bill was incorrect. How hard is it to follow instructions and care about the customer??? Food amazing, 10 stars, service 2 stars.
Food was good, service was bad. Waited 30-60 minutes just to get an order in. While people around us sat and ate. Staff were notified, they assigned someone i think. But random people would come with our food, we had to ask the server to the next table over for stuff constantly. Since he seemed active with them and would walk by. Things like . Menus, side dishes, napkins, water. He wasn't our server.. slowly the place died down and with it the service got even slower. The staff would stand around and we would once again remind them what of our food was missing. We never got apology for the show service.. after 1.5 years of not going to restaurants. This place gave a me a good reason not to return
I really wanted to love this place. It's so highly talked about amongst my friends. I came last Fri and loved the ambiance, the music, and the neat metal tableware. The service was terrible (we were served by a tall man who was bald aside from a brown ponytail on one side of his head). To be fair, they didn't have many servers, but he never once pre-bussed our table, re-filled our water, or checked to make sure had our entire order. My husband and friend both received their entrees, my entree was never even entered so I picked off their plates and the appetizers. We also ordered 2 watermelon sojus and only received 1. The alcoholic drinks took very long to arrive (again, to be fair, he had to make each one himself), and the appetizers all came at separate times and took a very long time to arrive. I might try this location again - I'm a *HUGE* lover of soju and traditional Korean dishes, but this place was an unfortunate disappointment.
Guess some regulars came in at around 10pm. Had been waiting 45 minutes for food already. Got asked to move table to other side of restaurant. Ordered two entrees only received one. Asked for the second entree, was informed that it had been forgotten about and chef is just now starting on it. Told them to just cancel that order and send over the check. 15 minutes later go to pay. Get charged twice and now have to patiently wait to get my money back.
This was my daughter's favorite place to go when she live here in south Florida. I took my son there yesterday for Spam Butter Rice and Pocha Wings. They told us it would be 30 minutes and that we could go to Gabose for the dish I really wanted and they would bring our order over. That didn't happened, we finished our food at gabose an hour later, went back to Pocha and the waiter was sitting down eating. We told the other guy that we were waiting for our food and told us another 15 minutes 😳. No thank you, they refunded my money for the order. Between both restaurants I would've spent $85
Kitchen closes early for Ex- i order to pick up at 12:25 and they said the kitchen was closed even tho they don’t close till 2am. Even tho it’s the weekday(Thursday) you should change the hours till 12 or 1 so you don’t have people make plans to go out to eat or order to something to eat at this specific resteruant we been waiting all-day for because they close late.
Let me start by saying this used to be my go to secret spot. I had been going there for nearly 7 years and I had never had a bad item from the menu nor a bad experience. That was until most recently when I thought I'd be able to celebrate after nearly a year of not being able to go. Walking in, there was an attempt at a Korean greeting from someone who didn't even look at us and seemed to be a customer as they were in a dress that exposed their mid drift. Sitting down, no one came for awhile and no one introduced themselves or welcomed us officially when they came to us. Everytime we tried to get drinks or order stuff it was at least 30 minutes in between each thing arriving. Food was unseasoned, burnt, and drinks had imbalance in alcohol and flavors. The "staff" wore their own clothes and almost seemed like a bunch of volunteers who would just grab our food and bring it at the slowest rate possible. The music was loud and was not at all like the vibes there used to be. Being there for 3 hours, only 3 songs were in Korean and the rest were 2000's r&b, rap, and even rock music. It felt like we were just flopping back and forth between the staff's individual playlists. I literally wanted to pay just to leave. They drew smiley and frowny faces in sauces and danced behind the counters. It felt like we were in a Chili's, sports bar, or Hookah bar, but for twice the price. I am so sad to see the transformation of what was such an important place to me and I hope that it can get a fresh reset to the amazing place it once was, but I don't know if I'll be brave enough to go back anytime soon.
One star is really to much for this place. We came with really nice expectations but since we arrived we felt invisibles. They sit us right away but for 15 min nobody came, nobody make any effort to ask if we are ready to order or if we like something to drink. We came for de Korean music and food and leave with cero costumer services and loud rap music. I will not recommend this restaurant! So sad!
TERRIBLE! Ordered food and NEVER received it, just got blank stares from staff. TWO new training employees who took our very long order after we had to flag them down several times to even get a drink. Out of 6 items ordered only 3 arrived. Terrible customer service. One of the employees had to come out and apologize but it was already too late. Manager stopped by the table for two seconds, and also ignored us. Only saving grace was ONE emplee who came and apologized FOR THE other employees. Crazy! Place USED to be awesome but damn, the ball was dropped through the cracks REALLY badly.
We put our name down at gabose bbq and we’re told it was an hour and a half wait to go to Pocha for drinks and apps that they have great street style food. So we walked over and were greeted at the door and asked if we had areservation at the bbq and we said yes. They told us they were in able to serve us food because we had a reservations and the owners will not allow them to serve us. What a disappointment will NOT be back and will NOT recommend this place to anyone!
Food is delicious but the service has sadly gone down. The waiters do not appear to take their job seriously and it shows. Two items we ordered never came out and we asked the waiter to just please give us the bill. They still included the items that we never got...so I had to get up and ask someone to please remove the items from our bill. Hopefully changes are made.
Frequented Gabose next door before the pandemic, always great, but now usually just stick to ordering take out, so i decided to try Pocha. The experience I just had ranks as one of my worst ones I’ve had in a while. Saturday night placed an order at 9pm. 2 orders of Korean fried wings, 1 order chicken shake, 1 order of kimchi tots. Was told order would take 20-30 mins to be ready. I arrived at 9:35, and food still wasn’t ready. Staff was nice, but noticed a cook in the kitchen not wearing a mask. Now, I’ve seen cooks at other places wear theirs below their nose, or around the chin, It gets hot back there I get it. But the cook at pocha didn’t have one at all. Moving on, I was told by the server to wait outside, and I would get a call when the food was ready. Waited 15 mins outside, went in a 9:50 to ask about food, it still wasn’t ready. Finally an hour and 10 minutes later, my food is finally ready. Now I’ve seen the reviews, so I’m thinking the food must be worth the wait. Once I had the food in my possession, I didn’t even wait to get home. I made sure to try everything in the car right then and there. I wanted to make sure I was tasting the food at peak freshness. The kimchi less tots, were the best of the bunch and that’s not saying much, cold, hanging on to a glimpse of crispy and no kimchi anywhere in sight. Chicken shake, lifeless, cold and soggy, with a hint of flavor. Now to then mains, the fried chicken. Flavorless, hot soggy mess. My disappointment is immeasurable. Doesn’t even compare to other Korean fried chicken, matter of fact, I’ve gotten a crispier more flavorful wing from the fast food joint across the street. 0/10 will not be back.
Great atmosphere, some of the poorest service I've seen in a long time. Staff has zero attentiveness, we were seated and then proceeded to wait 20 minutes without being waited on once, after getting the attention of the staff to order, they told me they had to tend other tables, as they were waiting longer. After hearing that, we decided to leave. Gabose has such excellent staff, it was so strange to see the polar opposite at Gabose Pocha.
Wow, I never leave negative reviews but... it was disaster after disaster lol. After 40+ minutes of our friends waiting (and we had our food already), we had to remind them TWICE of their missing food. They definitely microwaved it lol. The wings were inedible, so thankfully they comped that (again, after being reminded twice that we were missing them). We had no dedicated server, and they told us that was normal. After 30 minutes of waiting to see a server so we could pay our bill, I had to go up to the host stand to find somebody (there were 3 employees there and it wasn’t busy). Idk, I like to give places the benefit of the doubt, especially during covid but.... Should also mention that we had a reservation, but were left waiting to actually be seated. Would not return, unfortunately.
Don’t trust the waiters on recommendations they don’t know what they’re talking about. Very odd food with unique flavours; not very Korean at all. Kimchi was terrible. The container they serve the ramen in is cool, but hard to drink out of. They are also stingy on protein. You can make better ramen at home for half the price. Very overrated. Would not recommend.
We came by two weeks ago for karaoke for $30 per hour and we loved it! But we came by today & they charged us $35 instead saying last time was an mistake? and extra $12 for some random service tip when the service wasn’t even good with no explanation of what it was for. The girl there kept complaining that our mics were too loud and giving us attitude. And one mic wasn’t even working. You’d think they’d fix that after changing $82 for just 2 hours and a service fee. Definitely won’t be visiting again.
Used to love karaoke here but twice now our group has been harassed by a waitress to leave because she had 2 big groups on their way. If you’re not their usual frat parties, don’t bother. Not worth the disappointment and aggravation.
The food is great the drink is great. Its lit; Previously 5 star Ok so I'd like to preface by saying this is my Spot. For literal years. Idk if the actual management wasn't there last night or what. I didn't see any familiar faces. But the food was unseasoned, wait was like 45 minutes, the service was Terrible (no greeting, rarely came by the table, impossible to flag them down). The drinks were not good (confirmed one would be taken off the bill. It wasn't. I just ate the 7 bucks because I was ready to go). At least the soju (in a sealed container) was still a good time. I'm just. Really really disappointed. Hopefully management figures out what's going on and gets them together. I'll give it some time before going back.
