Clean food Gourmet plated by a friendly staff. Recommend the chicken tortellini alfredo, the chicken bacon macaroni and cheese, and the souffle if you can get to them before they're out of them at 10 in the morning. They make excellent sandwiches too. Their fresh-made bread is some of the best I've ever had, I really recommend the baguettes for their chewiness.
Nice, clean, lot of space to choose. Food is good although on the small portion side. Coffee is available for unlimited refills. Mediterranean eggwhite is awesome. Bakery is great as well as soups.
They accidentally left out the yogurt that was supposed to come with my child's meal. (It was a delivery order.) When I called to ask about it, they offered to make an extra trip to bring it to my house and brought some pastries too! I appreciate the good customer service!!
I've never been there before today. It won't be missed by this girl again. As soon as u walk in, the atmosphere takes on a unique feeling. Friendly employees, greeting u like they've known u for years. Manners, of a time, thought to be long gone. Now I'm looking up where all Panera Breads r, within a fifty miles area, near me. Ty for the great food and an even better experience. A future fan.
I had to go 5 rather than 6 because my order wasn't complete but I called back and they promised to make it right. The food was delicious as always. I went for a fundraiser and service was great even though they were stupid busy.
Great food great ppl. Edit: 2/5/22 Went in with my boyfriend and noticed these two guys (father and son) a head of us and I said quietly to my bf that they are not wearing masks. The two men approached the counter and the cashier said something I could not pick up then Dan the GM ask them of they could wear masks the men said no, so the GM told then they could not serve them, so they left. Dan is the first GM / person I have seen to turn ppl away while we are in a mask mandate. Thank you. You will forever have a loyal customer because I feel safe in your establishment. -The Grinch
Had a craving for the creamy tomato soup and a baguette. Very friendly staff who filled my order in less than 5 minutes. I'll be back! There's just something about their baguettes! My 2 friends and I had lunch today. It was very busy. The staff was trying valiantly to keep up. Unfortunately, some customers were rude and very impatient. A call out to those people to mind their manners and be sympathetic. Bet those people don't act like that at home. Shame!!!!! A shout out to the wonderful, professional and courteous panera employees. Even rude asshats didn't dampen their cheery dispositions! Always great food, love the vibe and BAGUETTES! (Slathered with butter of course).
Absolutely love this location. The general manager seems to really care about his employees. The staff is friendly and work their tails off. Love you guys. That being said, the company Panera needs to rethink the Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich. That thing is hot garbage between two slices of bread and it’s no fault of this location. I’ve had it in Olathe, Lenexa and here. It’s a $2 Walmart sandwich at the Panera Price. Love the location in Lawrence, 12 out 10. The absolute best Panera ever.
Love their food. I've been coming here for years. For a while, service plummeted but facility might be under new management because staff seems friendlier. Not specific to this Panera but their prices have gone up and portions have gotten smaller over the years which is annoying. Still one of my favorite places to eat. I like to do homework and grab a coffee as well. Environment is relaxing and comfortable.
This is the best Panera of all time. The customer service is 10000/10 and I've seen the staff go above and beyond for customers. They're well loved by many regulars for good reason. Simon especially is the shining star of this location with service, efficiency, thoroughness. Lifetime customer just because of this store. I was never a Panera person before but I'll never stop coming to this one. I would tip all of them a million dollars if I could and they've earned even more than that!
All of their food is great. Atmosphere isn't bad for an order/pickup at the counter restaurant. You really can't go wrong with their food IMHO.
This restaurant was clean, and customer service was good, they were quick to greet. It was late in the day so the bagels were scarce. No cinnamon bagels. They make good hot chocolates, even though it's hot out. Good chocolate chip cookies. Good restaurant, clean. Will return.
food is great, the people working here are always very friendly and the restaurant is clean
Everything was delicious! Service was great!!
I have been ordering the free bagel promo, but I still ended up getting free cream cheese with one order. The staff still thank me a decent amount of the time and everything has been prepared as ordered. One thing to note is that the app still asks people to wear masks for pickup, but there are no reminders on the door likely because the staff are tired of abuse so wear a mask out of courtesy. Panera has a price premium on many items, but given their coffee shop atmosphere this is fair since people tend to spend a lot of time socializing.
Cinnamon crunch bagel alone is worth a trip. Be careful with the charged lemonade 🍋. It's not mixed well and you get more caffeine than on label. Dilute it with juice or tea for safety. It's CPR level of caffeine and I am a fast processing caffeine-aholic.
the cashier was so nice, and helped me figure out my birthday rewards! kindest lady!!
The best customer service around, delish food. Stopped in to eat during a road trip. Wholly satisfying!
Atmosphere could have been better . Bathrooms were dirty . Staff acted like they didn't want to be there. Food was GOOD!
I haven't been to this or any other Panera Bread in years because my recollection was that there was not much that interested me on the menu and that what I did get was mediocre. This evening, I went here at a friend's request and I must say that things were very different. There were plenty of options on the menu that actually sounded good and I ended up having a very good meal of a pepperoni mozzarella melt on a baguette and a bowl of tomato soup. The food was very tasty and filling, the service was good, and I must say that I am now interested in returning at least to this location in the future.
I’m only writing this because the manager there is phenomenal. I’ve only been a couple times but he is very attentive and always has gone above and beyond to check and make sure my experiences have been good. Today I wanted to try one of the charged lemonades and didn’t realize it was a separate beverage than their regular ones and when the original employee dismissed me the manager brought me one to try and made it right. I’m not a huge Panera fan but this one is well ran and a good spot for a quick lunch. I wish corporate would bring back their Asian salads
Service was great! They forgot our chips but I had brought it up to someone at the counter, and they fixed that immediately! When we were done eating, the manager even came by and took our plates! 10/10.
I had the Caprisi sandwich and a cup of coffee. I was slightly disappointed when I tried to pour the house blend, which turned out to be an empty pot. I decided on the only other dark roast available. I mentioned it to one of the staff behind the counter, and he seemed genuinely concerned that the pot was left empty. I sat down and enjoyed the sun coming through the windows and the excellent sandwich. To my surprise, a few moments later, the gentleman from behind the counter brought me a fresh cup of the house coffee. I really appreciate his thoughtfulness and excellent service, it made my day.
Why is everyone so quiet or low key or just sitting there like nothing is happening? People are boring when they are waiting for food apparently. Be happy for your blueberry muffin and chocolate chip cookies. They always run out of the Lemon Cookie. Panera is not a coffee shop, no one is reading a computer or laptop and yet we all sit in silence... why? I expected more but thanks for the Mediterranean Sandwich and Summer Bummer Salad.
Only gave it 4 stars because they need to stock bagels better. The one that I wanted wasn't there and it seemed like every basket was empty but two. And it was only noon. Would be more understanding if it was the end of the night. Other than that, great service and love their green tea!!
The coffee was great and the food was good, just not what I ordered. I didn't realize everyone in my party had been given bacon until I got the food home. (One was supposed to have sausage and the other should have been plain.)
Panera is great for a healthy bite. They have a fairly limited menu, but the options are different and interesting. You can buy soft drinks, but there are also multiple teas and lemonade that are healthy and tasty. Last but not least, there are plenty of options for desserts or loaves of bread to take with you. It is fairly expensive, but we were given a big gift card and ate lunch here on a weekly basis for a while.
Arrived mid afternoon on a Friday. The bakery section was nearly sold out. Only 1 cinnamon roll,a few cookies,2 creme cheese topped small pastries, and over baked croissants. The dining area which is usually clean and tidy was filthy. Trash and crumbs on tables and floor. Seats were crumb covered. I gave 4 stars because I love Paneras typically and am hoping it was just a bad day for the staff and management.
The staff will put a lot of good effort into making your food good. The atmosphere is comfortable if you're looking to get some work done as well. Nice place to meet casually or for business. The soups are great and be sure to grab a baked good or two on your way out!
Panera is always good. Some gluten free options, you just have to ask or Google. Iced tea is always good, which you'd think would be a given but isn't. It was quite quiet when we were there bit picked up as we were leaving.
I have a good sensitivity to nightshades. The chicken in their Cobb salad has flakes of red pepper on it. The order taker substituted turkey meat, and then charged me an extra two dollars! I'm not happy with them right now.
They were out of so many items that were supposed to go in my order or on the side of it. By the time I noticed I was in the car on the way home. The store looked almost completely bare to the point that they shouldn’t have been open. Bathroom was disgusting!
Only had half the food on the menu... Needs lots of work.
This review is about order# 22779837. we ordered Baja Chicken salad (without onions and cheese) & instead, we received a sandwich that gluten conscious individual couldn't eat. Additionally, Steak and white Chedder Sanwhich didn't have cheddar but loads of garlic sauce, which was very bad. I have never had such an experience with Panera Bread, so hopefully they will read the review and take it into consideration.
As i ordered the new take sandwich with garlic crisps and extra sauce, there is no crisps at all on it, Barley any toppings, and to be charged extra and have it delivered is is ridiculous.. plz check your orders before they go out. Other than that. I love the food!
I came into the store and no one helped me. I had called in an order and was there for pick up but it was my first time being in there store. I didn't know where to pick up my order or if someone brought you the order. There were 3 different people working and none of them offered to assist me. I stood front and center in the libby for 5 minutes looking around, waiting for any of them. They all knew I was there. I eventually spotted the puck pick up area that was not facing outward but sideways so it wasn't easy to spot. I reluctantly walked over to identify my order, found it and still walked back to the front counter to make there wasn't anything I needed to do. This young woman and this guy still busy with their own conversation finally acknowledged my presence after I attempted a couple of times to politely get their attention. The response I recieved was mediocre and short. I walked feeling awkward. The soup was great, the bread kind of hard and the service disappointing. I'm trying to chalk it up as a one time experience. I'm hopeful if I visit again, it will be a better experience.
The car In front of me had a large order instead of having them park in the drive thru spot they waited at the window for at least 10 minutes holding the line up , with no apology for the long wait so annoying !
I went thru the drive thru which was very satisfactory. However my chicken salad sandwich had exactly 2 tablespoons of salad on one half and less on the other. Then it was piled full with lettuce and tomatoes. Super expensive for no more meat that I got.
I got my favorite Fuji apple salad and I order ahead and pick up inside off the shelf. They do a great job usually, except this time they gave me the wrong dressing (not Fuji apple dressing), and they put almonds on it (not the pecans that are supposed to be on it). They did add the avocado extra chicken, and took off two ingredients, as I asked! I caught the wrong dressing at the store, before I took it home. But unfortunately I didn't catch the almonds, which were supposed to be pecans. Because they got some of my special order right and it was ready on time, I gave them a 3 for service. Maybe I should have given them a 2, but they have gotten my order right other times. When you are picking up and in a hurry, or driving through they need to especially make sure they get it right. If you are in the store eating you can always go ask to correct things. Not so easy once you are home. I always check it when I pick up.
This location is horrible! Graduation and Mother's Day weekend 5/13/17 severely under staffed. My youngest who has Down Syndrome only wanted a soufflé. The gentleman in front of us purchased all of the soufflés. When I asked the associate if they would be making more I received a put out "NO". We found a work around and moved on. I asked to add my purchase to My Panera card but was informed their system was down. It's down frequently when we are in town, leaving us unable to apply purchases to our card. I waited in their long lines multiple times each time one of our daughters or members of our party arrived. The transaction for the third purchase was complete when the young man bought a tray of soufflés out. I told the associate I wanted to get a cheese soufflé when she looked at me like "you've got to be kidding" <the attitude said it all). So, none of my purchases could be applied to my card (not the first visit for this to occur), I put up with an attitude more than once from the associate over basic customer requests and SHE'S going to be put out with me?? The store manager called about my complaint and maintained a less than interested attitude. Sadly, I had to ask her if she would like the details of what I experienced. She maintained a disconnected manner throughout the conversation. I will never go to this location again. EVER! For breakfast, go to The Roost or First Watch. Lunch, for something similar, go to Jason's Deli. #SeriousCustimerServicetrainingneeded #goodluckwithallthat
The food was good, but the place was a mess. We arrived at 5:45 and the floor was spotted and sticky everywhere... there was a wet floor sign where something had spilled but no one cleaned it up and people had tracked it through the store. The food counter was also really dirty. The coffee was old, and tables were dirty and littered with dishes. Hardly what you expect from a Panera. I will not be back.
Ordered 2 sandwiches and a bowl of soup. Was disappointed in both sandwiches. My Bacon Turkey Bravo had little to no meat and bacon. And somehow it didn't have the same bread that has a sweet taste like normal. There was avocado on the inside of the wrapper which was odd as neither of our sandwiches called for avacado. The grilled cheese didn't even seem to be grilled as the bread was not toasted at all. The wait time was lengthy and could tell they were busy. That's why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. It's been some time since we ordered Panera. Hopefully they find some fixes to their issues for future customers.
I usually like going to Panera but was not happy with the customer service today. I ordered my meal with a baguette and when I went to picked it up there of sliced bread. They told me they didn't have any more baguettes but did not inform me of this information when I ordered. I thought it would be nice of them to compensate me with a bread bowl or something but they did not feel the need to and did not see a problem with this substitution.
These past three days, the quality of the coffee at the Lawrence, Kansas branch has been really bad. The taste is off, and I have no idea if they changed their beans or if something else is wrong
Ordered for 2. We received the wrong drinks, and when asked to correct it. The lady was rude and gave an attitude and of course was not wearing any name tag. We should have checked the bag because when we got home, one of the sides was missing and the special requests of removing tomatoes and toasting the bread was not done. (Even double checked the ticket and we did request it). Very disappointing experience. Until they fix their staffing and provide proper customer service training to their employees, i would not recommend going to this location.
I eat at this location regularly with my mother and mother in law. However, tonight my husband and I stopped in for a late dinner, there was no chicken noodle soup, I believe I was overcharged for a half sandwich. We waited for 15 min. and we were the only in store order, when we went to check, the girls in back were on their phones. I ordered iced tea and when I went back for a refill, the container was sitting on the counter so I couldn't use it. When I asked if someone could help me, I was told they were cleaning up so I was just out of luck. Very disappointing all around.
Service was awful. I ordered a pick up order. When I got home with it, I discovered they filled the soup with Broccoli Cheddar instead of the Chicken Wild Rice that I ordered. Also, it was 1/2 - 2/3 full. When the girl gave me the new cup of soup, she was rude and again the soup was only about 2/3 full. This will probably be the first and last time I do a pickup order.
I have always loved Panera, and when it's a treat myself day, I usually pick here to eat lunch. I haven't been in a long while and was really looking forward to it. I was disappointed with the food and cleanliness of the restaurant. I chose a pick 2. The tomato soup was barely warm and maybe half a cup in the bowl. The tuna sandwich was the size of the palm of my hand. The ice machine was out of ice, and the restaurant had dirty tables with what people left behind, such as their dishes, trash, and a face mask. Guess people have forgotten about putting their items in the dish bins and trash containers. 🙄 I'm going that this was a one-time event and that they had a massive lunch rush.
the food is fine. it’s not special. the workers never fail to have some attitude or lack or customer service at all. idek how they passed training. got two soups and the employee literally threw the bag on the counter which opened my soup lid and it was spilling the whole way home.
I have a few things, but mainly service at this location has really gone down hill. My last visit to panera was a memorable one, i mistakenly ordered as a dine in off the app so when i got there my food was prepared as dine in, i explained that the food i ordered i needed to take with me, i asked how can we fix it. So ofc the answer was i packed up my own order in the dining room. I got burnt soup and a stale pastry as well 🤍. I was pretty upset but also can judge that its a busy restaurant so i just left. On a previous order, they subbed my order without asking for preference. Thats also extremely frustrating imo. So all in to say customer service 👎
Ordered a sandwich. Price $12.99. I got the worst excuse for a sandwich and an apple. It was less than half a sandwich with a smear of avocado and melted cheese. Nothing else. I left very hungry, not wanting to waste anymore money. Sad
Are they under staffed or clueless? Went in there was a customer waiting at the register. An employee was doing something with the baked goods and walked by several times, there was another walking back and forth finally mentioned something about baking baguettes, 1st employee says "we have some", points by register. 2nd employee, " I was told to make more. She wonders off returning later with maybe 8 frozen baguettes, rolls those in the oven. Finally comes to the customer. I was there 10 minutes behind this person, thinking she needed the baguettes. Nope. Baguettes take priority over customers. Food was okay, I would serve the french Onion soup differently for a carry out order. Topping were either non existent or had dissolved in the soup. Was getting lunch to go for myself and a co-worker, there is a reason I avoid Panera.
Just stood in the lobby for 5 minutes while 5 employees stood around in back and talked to each other. After which an employee looks at me and says "sup". I then asked if they had bread bowls right after I watched a different employee scoop the last 5 off the shelf and take them to the back only to be told no we're out. Terrible customer service.
I see how the 2 star rating on yelp was earned, I ordered a turkey avocado BLT but the turkey was missing on the sandwich and since it was an online carryout order I didn't see it until I got back to the office. first and last time I go here. Plus I purposely ordered after the lunch rush to avoid a mistake, that didn't work. With soup and tip my order was $20.....what a waste
I will never order from Panera again. They use DoorDash as their delivery service. They delivered my food to the wrong address, and I never did receive it. I called Panera to let them know. They said there was nothing they could do about my delivery. They offered to refund my money. This is not a good look for Panera !!!
I have to agree with another reviewer this place is constantly out of everything. Every time I go in or call they're always out of bread bowls. They told me they make a set amount and refused to make any more. So I go in on a Saturday evening and they tell me the been out since the morning. If you end up going in the make you wait for 20 minutes for your order before telling you they don't have something..Lawrence location is just rude.
Didn’t have what I wanted got there at 6 ordered a bread bowl and was told that I shouldn’t expect them to have them, at 6, on a Saturday. How can you operate a business and at the same time inform customers that you won’t have popular items at dinner time, on a Saturday. Management is obviously lazy. On top that none around me had there orders right and customers were served out of order.
slowest panera i’ve ever been to
Very disappointed. Dont ever order the grilled cheese. Literally 2 pieces of bread together with no cheese whatsoever! I normally stick to the same thing everytime i eat there and now i know why. Got delivery so now I'm stuck with 2 pieces of bread or drive all the way up there when I did delivery for a reason.
Look, I'm not a fan of Panera and only order it when I'm desperate. The only reason I ordered from there today is because it is one of the few places where I could pickup without having to talk to people, or so I thought. I lost my voice over the weekend and literally cannot talk or project my voice, so when I had to go to the pickup area to grab my order, I tried to make it clear to the woman working that I cannot talk. I'm currently a server and have plenty of barista experience, and it is pretty obvious when someone is trying to communicate that they cannot speak. Maybe she's still new, but I had to point to the only ready to-go order sitting there waiting for me and the woman rolled her eyes. Not to mention when I first stood by the to-go area the worker at the bakery couldn't even bother to project her voice to let me know that the to-go area isn't where they leave orders now. Why not put up a sign? Anyway, I have low expectations for Panera to begin with, especially since they're all underpaid and miserable, but still. That was atrocious and left me angry.
Since this franchise has changed owners, the service has been horrific at the Lawrence location. This experience is just the icing on the cake. I just waited 15 minutes in line, only to eventually leave. There is only one cashier on a Saturday afternoon, zero customer interaction, and absolutely no sense of urgency. What an absolute shame. I used to love going to Panera Bread, but I will NEVER return to the Lawrence location. There are too many choices to waste my money at a business that doesn’t care about taking care of it’s customers.
workers are nice extremely slow. quality of food gone extremely down. used to order the turkey blt guacamole and was good but ordered today and got low quality deli meat and a quarted of an avocado on entirely different bread. horrible. they also lost my order and i had to wait extra, which again the employees were kind about but they need to get reviewed.
Did curbside once before and came at the time that was given. I waited an extra 15 minutes before going inside and my order was just sitting on the shelf. There’s been other times where I place an in-cafe pickup and the order is never ready on time, even if I show up a little later to give them a few extra minutes. Last thing: they never have all of their bagels. Especially on Tuesdays. I understand that the Tuesday dozen is popular, but wouldn’t that mean you’re better equipped to bake more bagels for that day? Apparently no, it wasn’t even 9:30AM yet when I checked and all of their bagels were sold out for the day already.
I came in earlier today and got a large Mac n cheese bowl to go. Once I got home I was nothing but disappointed. I had noticed that my Mac n cheese bowl that was suppose to be a large was not a large at all but instead a 1/3 of the bow size. As a broke college I expected more for that ridiculous price. No bang buck on this meal. 10/10 would never leave without checking my food. Very sad and very broke now.
The online delivery is atrocious to use. Wont respond at all on certain things and if you want to delete something from your order. Better forget it and delete the whole order and start over. Will list breakfast as available if you try to order ahead of time. But SURPRISE! Not gonna happen. And apparently if you call that in, one staff member will tell you one thing and another will flip all that around. Might try better training. Absolutely disappointing delivery service and customer service overall. Too bad 0 stars for what i got from Panera today isnt a review option.
I’ve been using mobile order as I have the coffee program. Not only do they say my order is ready, when it isn’t...today topped it off. Walk-in in because I received the notification it was ready. Sat there for about 5 min before anyone asked me what I was waiting for. Turns out my order was “ready” by the means of an empty cup sitting on the shelf. I said “oh, it’s never empty” she said yeah there’s iced coffee and pointed away from us...we’ve been busy. Mind you, I sat for 5 min watching 4 employees sit in the back casually talking. One person fulfilled one lady’s order and after that just went about talking to others. Beyond disappointed and will probably seek my morning coffees elsewhere and advise against Paneras coffee program due to the orders always being late and then the “too busy” to fulfill my order issue.
Had to call three times (two-three minutes each call) before anyone even picked up,called in an order for pick up. I show up and the cashier is clearly in a bad mood, extremely dismissive. Apparently there was a miscommunication and my order was never placed. Two or three employees were standing around doing nothing,if its that slow than why the sloppy service? I'm a young college student who has worked in the service industry for years- you can't give shoddy customer service and expect anything good to come of it.
This is used to be my favorite place. Me and my girl loved Panera! But lately they’ve been lacking on the avocados and when they aren’t the avocados ARE BLACK!!! we are all now sick.
New frozen bagels are terrible!
I have been a great fan of Panera for years, and I order from there frequently except for the past few months do to some ongoing issues at the Lawrence, KS 23rd street location. I order lunch for my employees on an ongoing basis, but the issue started a few months back when Panera missed up on our orders, ( Missing food, Orders misplaces, order changes without clarification, or being late) these issues has happened on every order that we have placed the last 3 months , about 5 orders total, the last 2 orders we had to cancel for them being anywhere from 30 min to 1 hour late, today same thing, when I called in and asked for the Manager ( David M.) he was very polite and apologetic, except he really could not fix the issue, after spend 10 minutes on the phone I then realized that his hand are tied behind his back on what he can do and cannot do on multiple levels of issues concerning their store, I’m hoping that the owners or corporate will see this and get to the bottom of these issues one and for all, you cannot pay your delivery drives enough for them to want to work for you, in return you also have them quitting to often , which cause you to only staff 2 delivery drives on a busy day with the weather like this today, where you should have at least 4 active drivers, this would eliminate me and others waiting an extra hour for our food than what was told to us, I ordered at 1230pm expected delivery was 139pm and we had to cancel the order at 2pm since I was still 8 orders behind till my order would be delivered, after multiple tries and chances, I have ran out of patience, I will no longer be coming to this store and supporting it.
Cashier was rude and argued with me about prices on the menu. The register had the incorrect price. The manager got involved and helped me, while I can see the disgruntled employee go to the kitchen and continue to be mad and talk to other employees about me. I could see them from the open wall in the restaurant. Horrible service and I was still charged incorrectly- the register does not reflect the menu prices. Beware!
Very terribly managed store in every aspect. If it was not so close I would never come here.
this Panera is absolutely TERRIBLE. Every time I come they are always out of something and don't tell you until your order is ready and say "oh we are actually out of this". Service is RUDE and the serving sizes on the tuna sandwich are terrible. Only go if you want to eat bread with nothing on them. Will not come back and advise you all to not even waste your time here.
My experience at the Lawrence Panera Bread started out innocent enough.....I ordered tomato soup and bread. I then had to wait for twenty minutes........for soup. When I got my order there was no bread, and all my friends orders were messed up as well. Long wait, terrible service, and over priced. 1 star
Terrible! My wife went through the drive through and ordered 3 bagels and some cream cheese. You would have thought she was asking the world. The people were rude, and just threw our bagels in the bottom of the bag with no wrappers, and they were burnt! The cream cheese cups were filthy and had dirty buildup on the outside 🤮. Also my coffee tasted like it had been sitting for a long time in the same pot! The only reason I give one ⭐️ is I’m not allowed to give zero! Never coming back to this location again!!
Update: removing another star. Besides getting my order wrong on multiple occasions they were out of bread this time.... Panera BREAD was out of bread... again and not just one type but like all bread. Multiple times employees place my order on that stupid wall behind the registers and then forget to tell me it's there. Happened today. Another time I had a to go order sit on that wall for like 15 minutes until I had the nerve to go back there and look at the ticket and tell them it was my order just to find out that it was sitting there because they were out of baguettes. Why didn't you tell me that when I told you at the counter I was there for my pick up order?! Super frustrating. Also, other Panera locations have a toaster that customers can use. Would be nice because you don't toast the bagels enough most of the time.
do NOT order online. they do NOT care about online orders whatsoever, my house is right down the road and I still tip decently, paid $20 for a half sandwich that was MOSTLY bread. the time before this was the same thing but the food was also barely assembled. sad, I typically enjoy Panera but this location obviously cares little to none about their food quality.
I have been going to this location daily during the free bagel promo they have going on. I use the rapid pick up option and every day this week there has been an issue. Today, however, was the worst. My order was supposed to be ready at 8:11am. Since I’ve had the issues with this I have them a couple extra minutes. I walked in, and of course it wasn’t ready. I decided to get in line instead of waiting for someone to notice me. While in line, I notice a receipt with my name on it in their trashcan. I got the “I don’t know how that got there” excuse and was finally able to leave at 8:21. 1 bagel, sliced and toasted.
Panera has really gone downhill in Lawrence. Walked in to order my own food at the kiosk with a girl 2 feet from me scrolling on her phone. Never looked up to greet me or say anything three girls in the back getting my food ready spent 10 minutes socializing Only to place to already prepped items in the bag. Did not include the baguette that came with my meal, but wasn’t even worth the hassle. None of them wearing hairnets and had long hair. When I said thank you after picking up my food, I was met with a “Yep”. Very disappointing
This is by far the worst Panera I have ever been too. The first time I thought ok everyone has a bad day but after my 3rd try nope its this particular establishment. Sandwiches are cold soggy and not put together correctly. One side could have nothing while the other side has all of it. No-one says thank you or welcome to Panera when you walk in, they just blankly stare at you like ugh why are you here. QA really needs to come audit this store. Used to love Panera but since moving here I do not anymore.
Two days in a row pre order was wrong. A simple bakers dozen no less. Day one, bagels looked like pretzels when I got home. No rise? Hard as a rock. Of course no supply at store to redo. Manager reorders for next day. Now sliced instead of no slice, cold and stale. Told this replacement was free, well duh, so have a nice day. Of course again no bagels available to replace and it’s 9:00 am. Told new staff and it’s been a zoo. Don’t tell your customers your issue. Fix it. Won’t be back. This is just one of several pre order issues over the last couple months. Beware.
I have entered this location two times now, a year apart. Both times I left without getting anything. There is always some problem. No macaroni, no soup, etc. It’s ridiculous. Today there was no soup, macaroni, lemonade and a bunch of other stuff. You don’t even order with a person, just on a kiosk. They probably do this because of how awkward it would be for them to admit everything is sold out. This place obviously needs entirely new management. If they get new management I would consider coming back.
Person calling names of ready orders was not friendly. You say thank and have a good day he just looked at you. They forgot my side of bread and he looked at me crazy picked up the bread ripped it in half and just handed it to me. Disappointing experience
I had a truly frustrating experience at this location on. The staff seemed unenthusiastic and operationally lost, leading to four consecutive issues: Seasonal Drink: They advertised a seasonal hot drink everywhere, yet told us they simply could not make it, offering no explanation or timeline for when they might. Bagel Order: A bagel was handed to us missing the requested cream cheese. Cookie Order: I had to watch an employee go to the back to check for a cookie that was clearly stocked right behind them on the display rack. Checkout Rush: The cashier did not bother to ask for my MyPanera number or if I wanted to use rewards, jumping straight to payment. I've never seen employees so unenthusiastic or encountered so many issues just trying to order items that are clearly available and advertised. Given the multiple, basic errors in a single visit, this location is an operational mess. Management urgently needs to step in, or honestly, the store should close its doors before it further damages the Panera name.
This Panera sucks. Last time I ordered, it was online and their inventory was incorrect so they didn't have the items I'd paid for. Instead of letting me know beforehand, that waited until I was in the store to tell me they didn't have the stuff I'd traveled there to get. Would have gone to a different Panera. Today, I had a question and stood in line for 5 minutes (timed it) and no one showed up at the register or bothered to acknowledge me at all. So I left without ordering. Go to the other Panera in Lawrence if you want accurate menu items or to actually be able to order.
I ordered a sandwich with avocado, they charged me for the avacado, but later informed me they ran out. They also added tomatoes to my tuna sandwich when I asked for no tomatoes. The coffee wasn’t all to good with just wasn’t an enjoyable experience, different Panera’s have made for a better experience for sure but this one particularly has given me an issue.
Received a cold smashed flat breakfast sandwich that had clearly never been warmed up.was told my only option was to return to store and have it remade.
If you order online from Pickleman’s, they have way cheaper prices and much better food, even without the “$5 dollar sign on coupon” which goes entirely towards taxes.
I ordered a Strawberry Poppyseed salad with no chicken but they went ahead and added chicken anyway. My salad was ruined! I’m a vegan and I didn’t appreciate the mistake.
Ordered two salads to go. Got home and found they had failed to put chicken on the salads. Called through their highly convoluted national call system, can’t just call the store. Had someone spending twenty minutes trying to give me store credit. Finally they say they can’t and tell me they have requested a refund. Say I’ll get it in 30 days or more. Just not worth the time and effort.
I had ordered online to go the 6 tulip cookies pack which were stale, icing was barely there and HARD. I also ordered a chicken salad salad which had a hair in it which was found on the first bite and was not mine. My other half sandwiches were a joke. The bread was stale and poorly made. This was at 10 in the morning so cannot blame it on that's all the bread that was left blah blah.. macaroni was good but very little of it. One would think after spending over 40 bucks only to toss it all (except the tea) and go straight to a Mexican restaurant to buy edible food is disappointing. I did take the survey in which Dan the manager called me and left message to call him back which I did 3 times and days with no return call. It was a let down beings it was my first visit to this particular location and long drive. Make it right Panera for other customers, they deserve better especially for the prices they pay.
