The owners of this place are really nice, you can tell they care about their customers, and will do anything to make it right. The food here is amazing, the workers are friendly, and the service is great. Can't get enough of that mac'n cheese with pulled pork and cornbread crumble on top! Would recommend this place to anyone wanting some good BBQ weither you're passing through or are a local looking for a new place to eat.
Dickey's offers great BBQ, reasonably priced, in a fun, casual atmosphere. The pulled pork was very tasty and not fatty at all. I had waffle fries, and BBQ beans for sides. Both were very good, I will definitely have them again. The staff was helpful and very friendly. You can choose indoor or outdoor seating.
John, Corbin and David were wonderful. They were the calm in the stormy day. Great food, fun and bright service. I got a 6 rib fall off the bone with Carolina BBQ. Had the chance to try my partners dickey's anniversary meal with a side of waffle fries. Those were great as well. To top it off, unlimited vanilla frozen yogurt. If you're feeling a little low, stop in for some sweet bbq love and care :>
April and Colton were excellent staffers!!! Food options were plentiful!! Our featured pulled pork sandwich with 1 side and a drink for $7.99!! Filling, quick and absolutely delicious!! (And The Price Was Great!!)

Small restaurant easily accommodated our 13-top and quicky served us. The food was great and the staff was even better. Special shout out to April for excellent service!
Small place but always good BBQ. The best in Southern Villages. It’s a small place, with not much seating but the food is good. My wife likes their BBQ tacos. I get the pulled pork or brisket sandwiches.
The best bbq place ever. I had the brisket and some fries. Finger licking good. That sweet sauce is amazing. Thanks to April and Colton for been so great. The place is clean and I RECOMMEND THIS SPOT.
The food and staff at this Dickies are 2nd to none. If you want good BBQ made with care and quality, you've found the spot. The ribs are melt in your mouth delicious and the brisket will have you speechless. Satisfied.

The food is amazing, I love the loaded potato with brisket! Sean always does great and is super friendly!
The best ❤️ brisket chili potato in town! Economical and fast lunch. Thanks 👍
We tried to eat at this Dickey's location for the first time a couple of months ago, only to find the door locked during regular business hours in the middle of the day. Decided to give them one more try this week, this time they had signs saying "new management". It seemed that the changes were for the better, our BBQ sandwiches/sides were delicious and the service was fast & friendly.

I eat here at least two times a week is the best value for your money. Anywhere in the area quality is extremely tasty. Staff is amazing.

Got the Rib sandwich special with the "Florida man" sauce the gentleman at the establishment created. I highly recommend the sauce, the recipe is simple from what he explained, but it brings complexity to the food and is absolutely delicious. It was our first time coming here, we were talking about going to Sonny's but didn't want to drive all the way to Lake Side Landing. I was surprised with how good the food is here. I grew up eating BBQ my entire life and was a regular every weekend at Kings Tastee BBQ, I'd put this place underneath them. I'm glad we decided to stop by and not just settle for Sonny's. For two meals under $30, and BBQ, is a very good price.
Hadn't been back for quite a while since my last experience was subpar Benjamin the new owner is absolutely awesome. Accommodating, willing to chat. Food tastes good. Glad I came back to give it another try.
We just moved to The Villages from Nashville, TN and are so happy to have found Dickey’s BBQ Pit! After being spoiled with great BBQ in TN, we had all but given up hope of finding authentic, great tasting brisket in central Florida. But we stumbled upon Dickeys and instantly knew we found a winner. Great tasting brisket, seasoned and slow cooked to perfection!! We asked for a lean chopped sandwich and it came out moist and savory. Together with fresh coleslaw and hot fries, it was the perfect meal. The prices were unbeatable and the owners super friendly. We highly recommend Dickey’s and just can’t say enough good things about our meal! We’ll definitely be back again!!
We just had a party for 22 people. Purchased two of the 12 person family meals. The pulled pork, chopped brisket and sliced brisket were all amazing! Everyone loved the food! Also the side-items, Cole slaw, potato casserole and baked beans were great! Highly recommend!
The service is outstanding and the food is incredible. Don't be surprised if you come toward closing and they're sold out! The owners are kind and truly make this the best Dickeys I've ever experienced. Do yourself a favor and try them out.

Walked in and there’s place was ok, a little warm but no big deal the employees were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was decent only 4 tables to sit and eat. The sliced brisket was pretty dry but tolerable. Mac and cheese was good. Over not too impressed but the price was decent.
Chain store. I had chicken fried steak, and they seasoned it with salt. A lot..lot of salt. I put nothing on it, and my brother saw the salt on mine from across the table. I didn't have my glasses on and I started picking at it, and yup... Salt galore. My sides were normal but bread had no butter. nothing to write home about. Staff was nice, place was clean.
After reading the reviews on here, I was a little hesitant. But it wasn't as bad as some people made it out to be. I cook a LOT of BBQ myself personally and quite frankly, I've had worse at many other places. I don't know if I would say Dickie's is the best, but they definitely weren't bad. I am probably a little biased in that I think I put out pretty good BBQ myself so it really takes a lot for something to stand out and grab my attention. I snuck a peek in their cooler and the briskets and meat selection was pretty impressive overall. There was nothing cheap or subpar in the meat selection. I had the brisket/turkey/jalapeno sausage combo plate with the cabbage slaw and Jalapeno beans. The brisket was pretty good but needed a little something to make it pop, the turkey was definitely juicy and the sausage was very good, not overly spicy and tasted good with the cheese mixed in which honestly I wasn't expecting that. Brisket could have been a little more juicy for my taste, but it wasn't bad. The sauce selection was ok, nothing overly hot or sweet, but a welcome compliment to my meat choices. I didn't particularly care for the texture of the beans, as they seemed a little hard and not cooked long enough to be tender for my taste, but they wasn't horrible. The slaw was actually pretty good, crispy and not drenched in sauce to a liquid like state..just a nice flavorable and crunchy consistency. Might have used a bit more tanginess for my taste but was very good. The wife had the okra and it was on point..crispy on the outside , tender and tasty on the inside. Her turkey was same as mine, moist and tender. Overall, the place was clean and small seating but was nice. The girls serving were very nice and answered any questions I had, showed me food choices I asked about and were very polite. Now the cost...for portion size, I would say it's a tad expensive, but certainly it wasn't the most expensive, I've actually paid more at Zaxby's for way less. For the $40 we spent, I would like to see the portion size increased a tad, at least make it a meal. I left still feeling a little hungry and I am not a huge eater by any means. As a side note, looking at reviews on here, I think the man responding to reviews should become a little more invested, as his response to almost every negative review might as well be rubber stamped, it is literally word for word the same response everytime. As a consumer, that would make me even more angry if I felt I had a bad experience. I know my customers want a personal response when they have an issue and take it to heart when I respond to them personally addressing their specific concerns good or bad.

The bbq is good, no doubt. But I'm a carb person and looking forward to Texas toast. It came totally dry. There was no one else in store while we were there. So I went back up, she said she forgot and I asked for some butter. She put some hydrologized yellow liquid in a cup and gave it to me . That's probably good all melted and toasted on bread, but not as a spread. I again asked about the bread, do they toast it, she said no. She made no attempt to fix it, give me new bread, something. The Mac n cheese was good. They had 3 dessert cookies left, pre packaged. The chocolate chip cookie was hard. Not good at all. The boys said potato salad was ok. My husband liked the taste of the green beans. I thought the sauces were good. I ordered a baked potato to go, and it's huge and looks delicious. I think a little customer service would've changed my whole experience. My husband thinks this is a good mid week place to go. He can go, I will not.
I work close by so go there weekly. Normally food is good & specials are affordable. A couple times the door was still locked at 10 minutes after opening time and I had to wait for the fryers to heat up. Staff has always been friendly.

We are visiting this area. We were being lazy and this place was the only one to deliver. Big mistake. If you are a local and you enjoy this restaurant, I'm sorry. But, this was the worst bbq I've ever had. It was cold on arrival. No utensils, no napkins to boot. Don't be lazy like us. Go get sonnys. From here in the Villages its 12 miles.
Extremely and concerningly inconsistent. First experience here we placed an Ubereats order. It was accepted by the restaurant and cancelled twice by drivers. When I called they said they were unable to do Uber eats until “tomorrow”. Okay, so we drove out and ate there. It was really good-we had the potatoes. Fast forward to today (month later). Called to see if they were accepting Uber eats. Was told “tomorrow”. Ok fine. Called back to order for pick up and were abruptly told (with loud music blaring in the background) that they were “closed until I get my license”. I believe Benjamin was the persons name.

When there had dinner with my family the worst experience the brisket was dry Mac and cheese tasted old and nasty some of my family had pork it smell bad they hand up in the hospital called to talk to the manager he hang up the phone on me just going to take action a. Different way
I understand when someone orders an hour before close, it can be a pain. But out of respect, PLEASE for the love of god, pack the sides! I picked it up 10 minutes after I ordered it and they gave me a big bag and said have a goodnight. I drove all the way home thinking I had everything in the bag. I called them 4 times with no answer. If you get food at this location during closing hours, please check the bag.
They canceled my order when it was supposed to be delivered and charged me $30 and never got to see my meal or a refund called the store and asked about a refund they told me to coordinate with DoorDash call DoorDash they told me to coordinate with Dickies a bunch of run around bullshit and scam
Beware!!!! I placed an order through Uber Eats and then the store has the Uber driver call me to tell me they didn’t have 3 of the 4 items I ordered. These were meals, not side orders. They should have NEVER accepted the order in the 1st place. I tell them to please cancel the order since they couldn’t fulfill it and the rude lady on the phone told me I needed to cancel the order. I told her I didn’t want to cancel my order because I would be charged and she reassured me I wouldn’t and that, that was the only way and hung up on me. I proceed to cancel my order as I was told to and guess what…. I was charged! I then chat with Uber to get my FULL refund and they tell me that because the store accepted my order that I would be charged and will not receive a refund! I told them what happened and they called the store to confirm so that they can issue my refund and the same rude girl answered and then hung up on Uber. So.. because she did that I’m not out $68+ and no food for my family! I then call the store and ask to speak to a manager and that was a joke, he was rude and told me he was too busy and to call another day and hung up! How this place is run and the customer service here is the worse! Stay far away from this location!
Everything was amazing!!! We stopped coming because it went downhill and we decided to give it another shot and found out they are under new management. Was greeted by awesome ppl and was taken care of and the food was fresh and delicious. The place was clean. We will be back!!!! Thank you! Update: visited about a month ago and gave a five star food was excellent, place was clean and service was great came back today and service wasn’t good. Harman was the person who was there and no one else. We walked in and he was playing with his phone and did others things and made us wait a bit to order. He was not a nice person. I asked for sauce several times before and after getting my food and was told to wait. Wait ???? My chicken was already served cold and he had an attitude. We always walk straight in and order and he had an attitude and told us to come around the side to the register. Disappointed also as the sauces were removed from the dining area and were rationed out and kept asking for original and all I could get was sweet. Couldn’t wait to eat there and was so disappointed. Was going to buy an original bottle of sauce and then didn’t even have that anymore. Hire better people! Very disappointed won’t be back!
If I could rate less I would. 1st time we had this BBQ was awful. We decided to give them another chance, this time we had Dickey's it was awful, burnt ribs like seriously charred, mash potatoes were nasty as can be. Let's not talk about the mac and cheese, more like just mac no cheese. To call this BBQ is an embrassment. We know BBQ and this isnt it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY, GO TO OAKWOOD SMOKEHOUSE ON 301 IF YOU WANT REAL BBQ.
My wife and I had just arrived in town on Saturday and on Sunday, we decided to look for a BBQ joint. All the highly rated placed were closed because it was Sunday evening around 7pm (December 14, 2025). We found Dickey's BBQ , and had eaten at one once before in Winter Garden, so we thought we'd try it again. We arrived (at 7 pm, as I said), walked in, and the place was empty. I don't mean there were no customers, it was completely empty. Nobody. No employees, no customers, nothing. Weird. We looked at the menus trying to decide what to order until someone showed up. We waited 10 minutes, and still nobody . The back door was open, so we thought maybe they'd stepped outside for a smoke or something. Waited some more, then we decided to leave and hit the Chinese place next door. What a sad and bizarre experience. Now I don't think we'll be back.
