This place has great food. Nacho the owner is a cool dude and an excellent cook. I love breakfast and that’s all I get there. I did get a burger and it was fire. If you want a classic dinner experience go here. The brioche French toast breakfast is perfect. I have been here everyday for a week straight.
The real deal, forever. Good prices. Huge portions. He’s not the Godfather — he’s my biological father.😆😆😆
Tried the chorizo breakfast burrito and the *ham breakfast burrito*, and both were absolutely fantastic! The chorizo burrito was packed with flavor and generously sized—easily big enough to share. It came with two types of hot sauce: a red and a green. Both were bursting with flavor, with the red sauce bringing a bit more heat. They paired perfectly with the burrito, adding just the right kick. The ham breakfast burrito was just as impressive, loaded with eggs, cheese, hash browns, and chunky pieces of ham. The hash browns were perfectly cooked, and the melty cheese tied everything together. Again, the hot sauces worked beautifully here too. The vibe at Godfather’s Diner is awesome—you can sip on your coffee and watch your meal being cooked fresh right in front of you. Plus, the booth seating makes it a great spot for families. Definitely planning to come back and try more from the menu!
The Godfather Burger & the Crepes are good , great service as well.
Everything was so delicious! The portions were huge and the food was worth every dime! I’m from the south and this biscuits and gravy can run toe to toe with any place down south. This restaurant is definitely small but mighty!
As soon as we walked in the amazing breakfast smells hit us and I knew this place was gonna be a win. The coffee tasted great and THE FOOD! Ugh, absolutely delicious! I got the chilaquiles with verde and it was some of the best chilaquiles I've ever had. My sister got the waffle and they even put Nutella on it for her. It was fluffy, perfectly golden, and tasted great! This place is a hidden gem and deserves a line out the door and around the corner.
Amazing food! We were in a rush and got served and got food so quick and it was so delicious!!! So thankful for The Godfather!!
Truly a hole in a wall spot. Seats maybe 30-35 people at best. Had the biscuits and gravy, one of the best biscuits and gravy I've had. Very generous portions.
Definitely a local spot to try out. The biscuits and gravy were some of the best I’ve had in San Diego. The biscuits were crispy yet soft. The gravy has a great flavors and plenty of sausage. Hashbrown were also better than expected. Eggs are eggs lol. I would be coming back to try more food! But now I know where to come for my biscuits and gravy! I hope they add chicken fried steak to their menu one day 🤤
Stopped by The Godfather’s Diner this morning for breakfast. Delicious. The biscuits and gravy plate was piled high with two biscuits and homemade(not canned) gravy! Glad to see another great breakfast option in Lemon Grove, this will be in my regular rotation from now on!
Y'all! This food is amazing!!! I got their creamy chipotle chilaquiles with a short stack and bruhh...This food is so fresh. I'm talking she made it in front of me FRESH!. It's a small business and they've only been open 5 months so definitely come support. I'll for sure be back for the mole when they make it. 😋
The diner is small, but what it lacks in size it has an abundance of homeyness. We were greeted right away and the staff were very attentive for our party of 5. The food was great and I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.
Cute vintage diner in Lemon Grove's downtown business district. All the charm of the 50's with classic American and Mexican dishes. Friendly and attentive staff.

The food was beyond delicious, everything fresh and hot. I had their machaca, and hands down the best machaca I have had in a while. I can't wait to come back and try some more menu items.
I came back after the Orginal onwer Nacho took back over. Food was Soo Delicious. I had the verde chicken pozole, the flavor from the soup to the chicken hands down 10/10, the chicken was so tender. Generous portion sizes on the food. My husband had the carne asada burrito again phenomenal flavors. Nachos homemade Chipotle sauce delicious. They are so super friendly and very attentive. I recommend to stop by and give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
The protein bowl with chicken sausage is awesome. Very friendly staff, though a little slow service. The Diner vibe is nice but the seats in the booths and at the counter have minimal leg room - I'm 6'4" so I had to bend my legs in an odd angle to fit. The music was a nice touch to the classic atmosphere. All that being said, I'd definitely eat here again.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and authentic — colorful decor, lively music, and the amazing aroma of fresh tortillas in the air. The food was beyond delicious: every dish tasted homemade and full of flavor. The tacos were perfectly seasoned, the salsa had the right kick. The staff went above and beyond — super friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had a great experience. You can tell they take pride in what they do. If you’re craving real Mexican food that feels like a hug from abuela, this is the place. Definitely my new go-to spot! 🌮❤️🔥

What an amazing little restaurant. Great food and service. My son said it was best breakfast in San Diego. You must stop by and support this small family business.

First off, the service here is phenomenal. The folks working were super friendly. l'd recommend getting the breakfast food or Mexican food options, they were delicious. We ordered chilaquiles rojos, chicken enchiladas, and carne asada fries and everything was cooked fresh and tasted great. I also ordered a grilled cheese with onion rings. The grilled cheese was tasty, but didn't meet the flavors in the other meals. The onion rings were a miss. They're frozen and fried and mine were somehow over and under cooked. Even despite that, I'm giving 4 stars for everything else!

A hidden gem. The portions are extremely generous. The food is delicious, fresh, and made from scratch. The price is right, the food is great, just get there early, because this place gets packed quick. Enjoy my friends.

First-timer… Food was OK. May have came in on an off-day but my “made from scratch batter” crepes were pre-made & heated on the grill (first time i’ve ever seen that). Good flavor but they were served with burnt edges. One of them had an eyebrow hair on top of it when it came out, i didn’t want to embarrass anyone so i just didn’t eat that crepe. My husband got the chorizo burrito & didn’t like it. The service was friendly & quick though so i’ll give it that… may be others’ favorite but i won’t return.
