El Chaparrito Taqueria is highly praised for its delicious, authentic Mexican food and friendly service. The tacos, especially the asada and al pastor, and super burritos are customer favorites. Some find the salsas lacking flavor and the exterior signage needing improvement.

This place was recommended to us, so we decided to check it out. We went later in the evening and had no wait at all. We ordered the pozole and a carne asada burrito, and both were really good. The pozole had a super flavorful, hearty broth, and it was nice that the toppings came on the side so you could add as much or as little as you wanted. The burrito was a solid size—I only made it through half and saved the rest for later. Overall, great food and a good experience. We’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu.
Overall very good. Won’t be disappointed. Clean simple flavors. Salsas could use some more flavor (pinch of salt)but not a deal killer. Affordable and plenty of seating. Only thing that threw me off was the building from the outside looks like an old ranch house. Could use some better signage.
Cozy place. Good steak. Lots of parking space
The three tacos I ordered to eat in house, with carne asada, chicken and carnitas, were about the very best tacos I have EVER eaten and outstanding at $3.75 each. Just brimming with delicious ingredients meats, whole beans, salads, cooked onions and radishes and salsa. Not very spicy but I love heat and there was plenty of different kinds of habanero sauce to chili things up. Not perceptibly oversalted. I went away with a happy tummy for sure, or was that the Modelo? I just wish the cutlery wasn't plastic but I guess the metal forks have legs. Recommend if you like friendly non-gringo taquerias with local ambience and excellent food!
Hands down the best taco spot in the Tri-Valley. I went on a Friday night when they had their night tacos where they cook outside. I ordered their asada and al pastor tacos which were both amazing. The meat was flavorful and very well seasoned. They had a self service bar with toppings which was a very nice.
Food was great, great portions, great taste and fast service. Atmosphere was really nice, the tables and chairs are really authentic. The bar area is very professional, and they have a happy hour. I would recommend 10/10. The Horchata has a very good taste. Salsa and chips were really good. Tge Salsa that came with the burrito had amazing taste and wasn't spicy.
Hello everybody I just stop by this place for a super burrito to share with my wife on my birthday. Got the el Pastor. First of all I’d like to say the outside landscape that they did is absolutely spectacular. The cactus they brought in looks so amazing. You could tell the love they put into this. Which obviously was put into their food to the food It was very delicious and I will definitely be back I’d also like to say that everybody that worked there was very friendly, especially the nice lady behind the counter. Thanks again to her for being such a great person and perfect customer service. One last thing this place was immaculate very very clean in fact, while I was there, they were lightly sweeping Much Love from Jerry Included a mini photo and a photo of the great cactus Take care from local resident

Amazing food and great service! This place is easily one of the best Mexican restaurants around. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. I’m pretty sure the owner’s son, Eddie, is the one cooking most days. He’s super friendly, incredibly talented in the kitchen, and not gonna lie, very good-looking too. The whole experience is always great here. Highly recommend!
El Chaparito Taqueria in Livermore is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and the incredible aroma of authentic Mexican cooking. The food is consistently delicious — flavorful, fresh, and generously portioned. Their tacos are some of the best in the area, especially the carne asada and al pastor, which are perfectly seasoned and grilled. The burritos are huge and packed with ingredients, You can really taste the quality and care in every dish. The staff is friendly, quick, and always attentive, even during busy hours. Prices are very reasonable for the quality you get, making it a great spot for a quick bite, family meal, or casual lunch break. If you’re in Livermore and craving authentic Mexican food, El Chaparito Taqueria is definitely worth the stop. Highly recommended! 🌮🔥
Quite possibly the best Mexican food I’ve ever had! I got the steak burrito and then came back the next day for chicken enchiladas. Food was amazing and staff was super friendly. Pretty quiet and cozy for a late lunch, and was just really charming (and delicious)! Wish they had a full ba,r but still, a great spot. Thank you!
Been here twice now and it's consistently good for super burritos. Their a good size, but pricier than you would expect for the area. Super burritos are $15 but you need to add another $2.25 for some specialty meats. They have a huge selection of meats. I've tried cabeza, tripa, buche, lengua and their all good. Requested for no added salt, light sour cream and rice, and they were able to accommodate. Small/medium sized restaurant with mostly indoor and limited outdoor seating. No salsa bar, but they have 3 kinds of salsas. Parking is easy in their parking lot. I would go back again
If anyone has ever been here they can vouch for me when I said this. Hands down the best food and customer service from a taqueria in the bay area. I 100% recommend for anyone looking to get some high quality mexican food for a good price.
I’m supper happy with customer service and delicious food. My family will return again next time we are in town. I highly recommend the tacos.

Good atmosphere! One of the best pozoles I’ve had. Definitely would recommend.
SF East Bay. Authentic tasty Mexican food! See pics with comments on what we ordered. Overall, we’re definitely coming back to try their other menu items!
Great food and very polite service. As I am from San Diego didn't find authenticity as down South, otherwise food is great. And street taco stand great addition to this establishment.

Love that they were open late. Made this stop on the home from SF. Young and friendly staff. Steak tacos is delicious! I'm not really a fan of wet tacos, they had beans in the tacos and tortillas was covered in the bean juice. Tacos were falling apart as I picked them up. I feel there was more beans than meat in the tacos. The girl at the register did recommend the al pastor taco stand outside the resturant but we didn't get to try it.
Decided to try a new place on account of the reviews. As I walked in a cozy place, I was greeted by a friendly staff. When the Ranchero plate I ordered arrived, I found everything looked in order. However, I found that there was absolutely no flavor on any of the items. The meat was chewy, the jalapenos had no flavor and no heat. The rice and beans simply tasted like they were just boiled in water. Even the cheese had no flavor. The salsa tasted more like it was tomato sauce from a can. No amount of salt, pepper, and the hot sauce could bring this plate alive. My wife ordered a totally different plate and had the same result. Absolutely no flavor on any of the items! I gave this place 3 stars because of the friendly staff. The food, I would rate as a 1-star. One-n-done for me on this one.

Came here after seeing tons of positive reviews. As usual, I ordered s no meat burrito, expecting it to be very good (based on the previous reviews. The burritos was reasonably priced at $9. Service was rude, but fast. When i actually ate the burrito, i was surprised to find that it was filled with a ton of lettuce. Lettuce comprised about half of the burritos contents. It was also much lighter and smaller than most burritos I've had (this burrito is on the right side of the picture attached to this review). The burrito was probably the worst no meat burrito I've had in this area. I'd highly suggest finding a different burrito spot if you plan to order the no meat/veggie burrito. The only good part of this place is that it had good ambience and reasonably priced burritos.

The first time I had food here was good and decided to return but after today I don’t think I will. The food look nothing like I had before there and my plate always comes with handmade tortillas today the tortilla were just your average maiz tortillas broken into pieces, the food portion was half what I gotten before and overall food not satisfactory.I will not be returning but definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Stopped by to have dinner, and decided to leave. The atmosphere is not what I expected. The staffed seamed as they didn’t want to be there. Cashier with long acrylics eating food at the register sucking on her fingers telling us to get a menu and sit and come up to place order, tables and floors dirty. The staff was not friendly at all. We ended up leaving will not come back
