The food is always perfect and the staff are lovely and give great service. Can't go wrong, I would recommend this place to all. They put a lot of effort into the food and you can tell they pay a lot of attention to detail in its cooking and presentation. Never not enjoyed a meal there
It may be expensive but the food is worthy of the price tag. Both the seared tuna starter and lamb main were cooked perfectly. Service was ideally attentive.
Top quality, refreshing and interesting food, and looked after by the staff way beyond what was required. We had a a great night
My partner and I came here recently, cute venue, we enjoyed it very much, they let me mix and match set meals, customer service was great very attentive, I had the duck with creamy mash, crispy bacon and shallots which was lovely and for desert chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream also lovely both or which were nicely presented
Saturday 7th April, we stumbled upon the restaurant so decided to try somewhere different. The Food was amazing, to be honest I've just read some of the reviews and our night was totally the opposite, the food was very hot, extremely tasty, the service was exceptional in fact I can't fault anything, and we eat in London a lot. The chowder soup, chicken main meal, the parfait and fish cakes where superb, the manger was extremely attentive and all the other diners seemed very happy so we highly recommend to anyone.
Nice food and good atmosphere. I had an enjoyable meal here with two other friends and we were all very satisfied. For me, the portions can be a bit bigger. I mean, you can serve more than 4 small pieces of calamari for starter surely...
Really good food in a well presented restaurant, just let down by the waiter on this occasion. He made the experience feel rushed.
Not ridiculously busy and no music!
Had a great lunch here
Great ox cheeks!
Very nice restaurant
Ok
Good food.
Great food and nice staff deffinetly I would recommend it.
Good food and great staff ready to serve with a smile
A charming little French restaurant set just on Charlotte street where the walls are adorned with countless pictures of celebrities who have eaten there. The food was delicious and well presented all at a reasonable price. The staff were so attentive friendly and welcoming. In summary, a quiet and intimate restaurant with great good quality French food.
had the groupon 3 course meal, very tasty food and great atmosphere with french music playing and not too busy which we enjoyed. Great french food, would be returning!
The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant is excellent. The food is nicely presented. But it's important you order the right things from the menu as unfortunately not everything is as good. The escargot is excellent as well as the liver and the mushroom souffle. The risotto is bland and the slow cooked pork pure fat. The lemon tart tasted only of butter.
Good French food but very pricey for portion and taste
Reliably ordinary. A shadow of its former self. Nothing actually wrong but nothing actually very good either Shame
Went for an Xmas work party. Place was really too small for the amount of people (lots) and food was mediocre at best, probably because it was mass catered. I would hope a regular service would provide a better experience but given the cost of this restaurant, I'm not inclined to chance it. Very good wine though.
Very low. Old restaurant which is falling apart. Very expensive. Medium service. Waste of time...
Out of five meals only one was tasty :-(
Food great... once it arrived. Incredibly slow service in a fairly empty restaurant from staff who really didn't seem to care. Such a shame as was once a great restaurant. If you have other options, go for them as this place is will leave you frustrated at the poor service.
Very disappointed with this dated and tired looking restaurant. The choice on the menu was really pathetic with cheap items on all three courses. The starter was a horrible cold chicken liver, salad or cheesy nonsense. As for the mains some cheap vegetarian or fish cake no proper meat and we had creme brulle for dessert but this was cold. Yet the menu prices are astronomical for very poor food. Avoid this place
I don't know about quality and freshness of material, but the cooking need to concern the texture more. The "slow cooked"pork belly is actually quite hard and flavorless , I don't know how is it slow cooked because it taste like it over boiled.
Food was OK, service was passable. It may be ancient, but it feels rather tired rather than special. It's also insanely expensive for what you get.
Went as a large party. They staff were very nice and friendly however the place was dead so maybe why we got a lot of attention. We had a set menu due to large group and it was very basic. Half the dishes not even fully complete. My starter was brought out half done. Chicken for main was dry and bland. My Apple tart had no pastry at all! Just lots of sliced unflavoured Apple shaped like a slice ! 2 stars is generous.
Terrible modern decor. Should have left it as it was. It was an institution.
If you really wanna it some shot, go McDonald, is cheaper.
Old and dated
Move on to the next place, folks. One of the worst meals this year. Service oddly brisk for a near empty restaurant, forgot drinks and side orders Dishes arrived after an age, cooler than July on the coast, yet somehow overcooked to the point of the pork belly and lamb dishes being closer to London brick than the animal they once were. Strong signs of reheating frozen precooked meals in a microwave. The incomprehensibly mundane experience for the area underlined by an unearned 12.5% tip line that sealed this restaurants fate in my mind: never return and assume/pray it will meet the fate of other Charlotte Street restaurants that fail to deliver in an area full of wonderful eats - closure.
The snails were quicker than the waiters. So slow and did not care about there customers. Useless. We wanted 90 minutes for some food even though we booked a table. DO NOT GO HERE!
TERRIBLE! ruined our xmas party. Slowest service ive ever experienced even though restaurant was empty and then for the food to actually turn up cold! Over cooked beef and raw carrots. Worst meal ever
