Celebrated my best friends birthday at Giannino’s. The services, food, staffs and atmosphere were amazing. Matteo and his team really took care of us during the whole evening. The food were absolutely tasty!
Outstanding Italian restaurant in Mayfair. The food is fantastic, the black fettuccine with prawns are outstanding, probably our favourite dish! The classic cotoletta on the bone, thin and cruncy, just as it should be! The ossobuco was melting in my mouth, soft as butter and the Milanese risotto was divine! The decor is simple yet elegant and the staff is friendly and professional. Definitely worth a visit!
Hands down one of the best meals I've ever had! Went with my Girlfriend during a weekend break in London. Service and atmosphere was fantastic. The food was out of this world incredible. Refreshing to see a fine dining restaurant offer a good choice of vegan and vegetarian options too. Neither of us have never felt so sad to finish a meal knowing the experience was then over. Highly recommended and we shall be returning!
My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of having dinner at Giannino's for Valentine's Day and we were thrilled. The food was excellent and the service fantastic. We'll definitely be back
I went with my friend and I loved it. The people working there are so friendly and professional. Matteo, Vito and Valerio have been amazing with us. The food was melting in my mouth. Everything was so delicious. I highly highly recommend it.
Delicious food at justified price. Wonderful service and explanation of cocktails by sommelier. We were greeted with some wonderful bread and amuse-bouche alongside our cocktails. I very much enjoyed every course and they were all a reasonable size, to be fair I could have been fine without one of the courses but really wanted to try all these... Yellowfin tuna tartare- loved it the most! It was made and cut well, the flavours didn’t hide that fresh clean taste of the tuna. Tonnarello Cacio e Pepe, Sea Urchin, Cocoa Beans and Lime- Wonderful blend of flavours, though can be quite heavy after the tuna, but well balance with the cheese and Unami flavour of the sea urchin. Lovely texture of nibs and al denté pasta. Berbere Lamb Shoulder, Ceps, Thyme Potato Millefoglie, Sweet Pecorino Sauce - perfectly cooked so it’s close to pink, but not quite, so tender and fresh lamb taste. Really liked the millefoglie too! Opera with liquorice ice cream - opera cake is my favourite, so had to try it as it’s on the menu. I enjoyed it, very tasty, but found it a little heavier in comparison to my usual. The ice cream was a wonderful surprise- tasted like toffee then had the nice liquorice after taste, but not overwhelming. After all the food, we had petit four to close off the wonderful meal. Thank you, definitely recommend to food lovers.
My date and I wen't here for a Monday night dinner, and I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Elegant decor, stunning service and food to die for! We shared 3 starters (all of which where really exquisite), and both had the fish of the day (sea bass). Portion sizes where perfect, and the food presentation and taste could hardly have been more special. Giannino's is a wonderful choice for a romantic date!
Great lunch menu and sophisticated decor. My only two qualms were that the waiter took a while to take our order despite the restaurant not being full and my polenta was missing some seasoning/flavour.
This has to be one of the best Italian restaurants in London. The food was amazing especially the White Truffle Tagliolini which was amazing and highly recommended. Stefano our waiter was fantastic. He made some great recommendations. The Seabass was delicious and the Tiramisu is a must. Simply divine.
I came here to have coffee and sweet from time to time in the afternoon. The new apple pie is so impressive 🤩🤍💙💚
Giannino is a hidden gem in the heart of Mayfair. The restaurant is cozy, elegantly designed, and carefully detailed. The food is excellent, featuring traditional Italian dishes. The staff is always attentive and present. Truly one of the best restaurants in London! Perfect for a lunch or an elegant dinner. Highly recommended.
From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, the service was impeccable. By far the best Italian meal I've had in London. Worth every penny!
Lovely place with very kind and attentive waiters and staff. One of the best service experiences plus delicious food presented beautifully. Will definitely come back for this.
Very lovely restaurant with nice and polite people there. I felt like a VIP. The food was fantastic, the wine was top quality. Will be visiting again
We had a lovely dinner with friends and I have to say this place is must go to in London. Food, ambience and staff are top! Thanks to Vito ,he made experience even better !
Absolutely amazing food, amazing people working there offer so fantastic service and great hospitality! We had a wonderful experience.
Fantastic Italian restaurant. It’s the warm bread and butter for me in the beginning that always makes me happy, complimentary canapés and some drinks. Very lovely and professional staff, fabulous food, desserts were the only item I wasn’t impressed with. But still doesn’t change my mind about the place. I’d come again in any occasion 💛
I love the lobster linguine it is so beautiful and fresh also the staff are very polite and welcoming. It is a very outstanding restaurant and suits couple, family and friends gathering
I had a quick stop at this resto and had Delicious tiramisù & black coffee, I give the tiramisù 9.5/10. The employees are so respectful and friendly
Beautiful restaurant! A warm and genuinely authentic Italian spot just a 3-minute walk from Bond Street Station. The food is absolutely fantastic — fresh ingredients, confident flavours, and dishes that feel truly cared for. The wine selection was outstanding and thoughtfully chosen. Service was friendly and relaxed, with that real Italian hospitality you rarely find in London. A lovely, memorable dinner! Highly recommended.
I have been here already twice and will definitely come back! Authentic Italian food in the hearth of London. Everything is prepared with care, attention to detail, and respect for the original recipes. The risotto is one of my favourite dishes, together with the parmigiana! The staff is professional and kind, always ready to help and provide recommendations. Matteo, in particular, is great! The service is impeccable.
Absolutely fresh and delicious Italian food! We had the special of the day fresh scallops, which came served on beautiful shells and were very obviously extremely fresh. I could literally taste every one of the 36 egg yolks in the homemade fettuccine dish, the pasta was so delicate. And the beef cheeks were soft enough to melt in your mouth. Great vibe here, and the service was impeccable. We felt really tended to by our experienced server.
We had a fantastic lunch at Giannino in London. I ordered the carbonara and it was absolutely delicious — creamy, flavorful, and perfectly done. It really felt like we were in Rome! What made the experience even more special was Chiara. She welcomed us with warmth and genuine Italian hospitality. She was not only kind and attentive, but also incredibly helpful — taking the time to suggest things to see in London and making us feel truly at home. Chiara is a real gem and added a personal touch that made our lunch unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Italian food and heartfelt service right in the heart of London.
Outstanding restaurant!! A fantastic evening spent here enjoying fabulous authentic Italian food and drink. The service was incredible, Matteo and Mario were attentive and friendly. The dishes were served with a description from the waiters showing that they had knowledge but also pride of what they were presenting. Everything was on top of the expectations! Very recommended, we will come back for sure!
Came here for friend’s leaving party, such a hidden gem in the heart of Mayfair, this Italian restaurant is the epitome of culinary excellence. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance exudes sophistication, seamlessly blending modern elegance with timeless Italian charm. The service is impeccable, with staff offering warm, attentive care without being intrusive. Highly recommend every dish we’ve ordered, will come again for sure
I visited this restaurant in a spur of the moment decision and without a reservation. The experience was fantastic. The staff were friendly and attentive. I received perhaps the best service I've ever experienced in a restaurant. You couldn't ask for better. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Perhaps the portion size could be a little larger but it's a minor critique. All in all a great experience.
Giannino in Mayfair offers a classic Italian dining experience with an upscale twist. The food is exceptional, showcasing authentic dishes from all regions of Italy, prepared with care and precision. The atmosphere leans more toward Mayfair sophistication than a cozy trattoria, but the warm, attentive service manages to make it feel inviting and enjoyable. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but the quality of the food and the impeccable service make it worth it for a special occasion or a memorable night out.
I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant for my friend’s birthday. It was an incredible experience, with the perfect atmosphere. The food was delicious, paired beautifully with balanced, earthy wine. The staff was affable and service impeccable. I highly recommend it.
Giannino is a true gem for anyone who appreciates authentic Italian cuisine. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that instantly makes you feel at home. The menu showcases a perfect balance of traditional flavors and high-quality ingredients, with every dish prepared to perfection. Whether it’s the handmade pasta, fresh seafood, or a classic risotto, each bite transports you straight to Italy. Beyond the exceptional food, the service at Giannino is top-notch. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about providing an outstanding experience. They go above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcome, offering great recommendations and making sure every detail is just right. If you’re looking for an authentic Italian dining experience with impeccable service, Giannino is the place to be. Highly recommended!
My husband booked this restaurant for our anniversary on a Sunday night and it was such an amazing experience! We had the 7 course tasting menu, all vegetarian dishes with no egg and fish involved and it was absolutely lovely! It got too stuffy in the end but we still tried to stuff as much in as possible. It was so irresistible, couldn't stop eating! The ambience was warm and cosy. It felt like we had the whole restaurant to ourselves as it wasn't busy at all. The staff were so nice, so kind they knew exactly what we wanted and executed it so neatly. Thank you for making our anniversary so special and will definitely make another trip! Can't get any better Italian fine dinning than here.
I came here last month to celebrate a birthday and will definitely come back. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere very welcoming. Many thanks to the team for giving a great experience
I recently booked Giannino for a business dinner. From our first interaction Matteo was so helpful and accommodating in creating a menu for our guests and their dietary requirements. Service was excellent and food was delicious. Highly recommend.
Giannino Mayfair is a sophisticated Italian restaurant in the heart of Mayfair, offering a refined atmosphere and excellent service. The menu is creative yet authentic, with standout handmade pastas, slow-cooked dishes, and delicious desserts. Absolutely brilliant.
Delicious restaurant with an extremely authentic Italian atmosphere. The servers are wonderful and attend you beautifully. The pasta is exquisite and cooked to perfection. Main dishes and starters also don’t disappoint, the vitello tonatto is creamy and wonderfully seasoned, oysters are fresh and flavourful and the Veal Milanese was tender and crispy. Overall a wonderful experience that I definitely recommend.
What a fantastic experience! Loved everything about this place! The restaurant itself is really nice and has a great vibe. The service was spot-on, everyone was so friendly and made us feel really welcome. And the food? Incredible. I’m still thinking about the fillet it was insanely good, super tender, and packed with flavor. Honestly, everything we ordered was delicious. Can’t wait to go back!
I wish I could give Giannino Mayfair more than 5 stars. We were in town for a large corporate event and needed a reservation for 18, on less than 24 hours notice. Matteo (whom I. Relieve may be the owner) went out of his way, on his day off, to ensure we were able to have our large party dinner. He coordinated everything with whom would be our hostess, Tiara (forgive me if I misspelled), so that everything was sorted when we arrived. The hospitality, food, and service were off the charts. The staff helped us select dishes they believed would be great for the table and even worked around some substantial food allergies (gluten, dairy, and eggs). The sommelier brought 3-4 wines for our tasting and helped us select an unbelievably delicious Sicilian red. And our meal was OUTSTANDING. We shared Peppardelle Ragu, house saffron risotto, veal Milanese, and steak tagliata. With accompanying delicious sides and starters. Our entire experience was just superb and I cannot thank Matteo and the staff enough for their wonderful hospitality!! THANK YOU!!
I recently visited this restaurant for a work event and had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. What really stood out was the excellent service, especially from the manager, Matteo. He was incredibly attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly. Overall, a wonderful evening with great food and outstanding service. I’m already looking forward to coming back!
A real gem! I went there for a business lunch. High-quality Italian food in an elegant atmosphere, with warm and friendly service. What more do you need? The paccheri were excellent, the vitello tonnato outstanding, and the selection of bread and grissini was incredible. Great value for money. Well done, guys — see you next time!
Giannino offers an intimate experience for refined palates in search of the final Italian experience. With a refined selection of local ingredients, the chef's menu includes all-time classics (such as their parmigiana and their cotoletta alla Milanese) and new interpretations. Had a great time thanks to the pleasant service - would definitely recommend!
Overall the experience was good. The service and atmosphere stood out; you can tell they care. The food was good. A selection if classic Italian dishes that are done well enough. A good safe choice. The Ossobuco was good, albeit lacking some salt; the potatoes puree that cane with it was great. The cheese selection was good but rather stingy, especially considering we were a larger party. Tempura was an odd menu choice and presentation could’ve been worked on, but fine overall. In short: pretty place, good service, decent food.
Really lovely atmosphere and great decor. The food was overall ok. I loved the multiple gluten free options, on the menu and the risotto allo zafferano was really scrumptious but came in barely warm, a pity as the whole experience was a bit of a flop, the staff was very friendly and removed it from the bill though. The porchetta was super tasty, pity the layered potatoes were not enough, just a tiny portion and they are adorable. Pity also I never received the gluten free bread for trying the home made burro with dried raspberries dust. The tiramisu was delicious but not what you would expect. The amuse bouche (arancini al tartufo) I was told they were good but could not try them as they are not GF. The wine list is amazing and with a lot of artisanal wine-makers.
Food was good but not special. Portion : I should just have taken only the Main Dish without any starters… it is more than enough. Staff are friendly. Simple/ Basic table setting.
Disappointing, shrimp tempura was raw even the replacement was still not up to standard. Pastas looked good but no taste. Some etiquette issue with other diners that the restaurant should have dealt with.
The restaurant is situated in the heart of Mayfair at 2 min from Bond street station (Central, Jubilee and Elizabeth line). Unfortunately our experience has not been great. The beef truffle tartare was really dry and the risotto Milanese and the Cutlet were both not cooked well, moreover the glass of red wine has not been served in front of us from the bottle. Despite the restaurant is very elegant the services was not up to par. The waiter bother us every 10 seconds asking if everything was ok and the rest of the staff were “screaming” instructions between each others. Above all the bill was really expensive compare to the food served and the overall services. Absolutely disappointed.
Was looking so forward to this restaurant but was let down big time. Let's start with the seating. Why did you put me next to a table with 12/14 loud people? I thought this was suppose to be a serious romantic restaurant. Three of the wines I wanted were not available. Update your wine list. I had the tagliolini with white truffle as pictured here. Those are not white truffle and why is there soup at the bottom of the pasta dish? Finally, when I made the reservation I made a note it was my wife's birthday. Could you have at least read the reservation and put a candle on the dessert we ordered? Would not go back.
Not a great experience in terms of pricing or food quality. The restaurant is quite overpriced, and unfortunately, the food doesn’t match the high cost. I ordered the fettuccine pasta, which was overly salty and lacked flavor. The bread was dry and clearly not fresh. When asked how the food was, I gave honest feedback but it felt dismissed. The staff simply said they’d tell the chef, without any real concern or follow-up. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it based on this experience.
Beautiful restaurant and very kind staff, but sadly not worth it. I love Italian food and with the beautiful outside and inside of the restaurant, as well as the classy staff (and T he price of both the food and drinks!) I had somewhat high expectations. Sadly the food didn't taste anything other than oil and grease. The focaccia looked amazing at first glance but as soon as I picked it up from the plate, oil literally run from the bread. I ordered the Classic Bruschetta and Gnocchi al Pesto Genovese. Bruschetta is one of my favorite things to eat, but this one tasted like water and oil. The gnocchi didn't differ much, and it was just a mushy and oily goo really. My boyfriend ordered a Medium rare Grilled Beef fileet, mashed potatoes and tenderstem broccoli, garlic and chilli. He was okay pleased with his food, except the beef wasn't completely medium rare; it was a bit lighter cooked than expected. The mashed potatoes were okay, but I think the tenderstem broccoli was the better item we got here. Both the mashed potatoes and broccoli was also a bit heavy on the greasiness for my taste.
The assortment of bread was interesting and very tasty. The meal itself was very poor. The pasta was not cooked properly and stuck together, the sauce was watery and bland. We sent a dish back because it was over salted. The waitress took it back and recommended the carpaccio. The meat was a good quality but the dish was over garnished, which overpowered the wagu. The wait staff was not particularly friendly for the type of restaurant and location. They did not ask how the meal was at the end, especially since we had already sent something back and they had a general air of being rather apathetic. It is not a place that I would recommend and will not be dining there again. We would have given honest feedback in the restaurant, if anyone had taken the trouble to ask.
I was part of a large group dining at your venue this evening. While the atmosphere was initially pleasant and we were welcomed with Prosecco as part of the package, the overall experience was deeply disappointing. The wait for food was excessively long—so much so that several members of our party left before being served. Throughout the evening, it was also concerning to see some of the staff more focused on taking vodka shots than attending to guests. The most distressing part of the night came when one of our hosts politely asked Matteo how much longer dessert would take. Instead of offering a helpful response, he snapped at her in front of the group. Even from the back of the venue, I could hear him speaking to her in an aggressive and completely unprofessional tone. What made the situation far worse was that Matteo’s behavior was not only rude, but overtly racist. He used his ethnicity to justify his actions, which is absolutely unacceptable in any setting—especially in hospitality. Rather than demonstrating respectful customer service, he told her to pay without receiving dessert and to leave. For a venue that presents itself as upscale and charges accordingly, this experience was appalling and far below the standard anyone should expect. No guest should be subjected to that kind of treatment.
Giannino Mayfair — An Exercise in Opulence, Without Much Else You arrive at Blenheim Street, greeted by a black‑and‑gold façade and the kind of velvet rope that suggests theatre—but alas, only you perform on this rather dreary stage. Inside: grey-and-brown décor so sober that even your most austere monocle would yawn. The pineapple statue gleams like someone’s tart frivolity—making one wonder if the décor committee was compensated in gilt trimmings rather than taste. Upon seating, the service is undoubtedly gracious—that is, if you can endure the polite peculiarities of an establishment desperate for drama, with empty rooms echoing nobility without company. Quite the air of someone who expected aristocrats but received vault‑dwellers. At this temple of Italian gastronomy, the food is certainly competent—some dishes even verge on the satisfactory—which is perhaps more frustrating than if they were outright poor. Guests who note that “food is nothing special” capture the sentiment perfectly: pleasant but utterly unmemorable. And let’s not ignore that the word‑of‑mouth whispers are loud: some believe the ratings are vastly over‑inflated, calling it “disappointing” after an evening that clearly did no justice to the hefty ticket. Now, the bill. Expect to pay upwards of £110 for a three‑course dinner plus wine and cover—a price tag that soars far beyond the modest thrills on offer. Harden’s ratings summarise it succinctly: **Food: 2/**5 (Average), **Ambience: 3/**5 (Good), **Service: 4/**5 (Very Good)—a fine service, a dreary room, and food that fails to justify the expense. So, in the lavish milieu of Mayfair dining, Giannino is perhaps best described as theatrically splendid but gastronomically tame. It is a grand concept that betrays familiarity at every turn—a gilded shell without the spirited soul. One sometimes hopes for genius, but is overwhelmingly delivered routine execution, all at a princely cost. “So… what did I learn?” The aesthetics aim for decadent refinement but settle in monochrome severity. Service, though polished, can’t quite resurrect the desolately sparse atmosphere. Food fares respectably in modest moments—but rarely, if ever, transcends. Price remains eye‑watering, while satisfaction remains modest. In short: Giannino Mayfair might impress your cousin’s bank account, but it is unlikely to enchant your palate. An evening at this establishment feels more like participating in a dramatic production—where the scenery outperforms the performers. Fancy a more glowing alternative recommendation? I’d be delighted to suggest some true delights of Mayfair.
