This place is absolutely perfect. The food is so good!! There are so many options for gluten-free food. The service is spectacular!! Our waitress was lovely and charming! And the place itself is so nice and comfortable, and when we were there, there was a live single who did covers for great songs. Very recommended!!

One of best meals I’ve ever had! I am celiac and dairy free so it was incredibly relaxing being able to share and enjoy a meal with my family for a change! Everything on the lunch menu was gluten and dairy free, with so many fresh choices, as well as vegan and vegetarian options too. We were there for lunch which opens from 12:30, and the service was lovely and very speedy. The restaurant is on the mezzanine floor of the hotel and very easy to access, with a really relaxing atmosphere, looking over the beautiful lobby bar. The location is great as the restaurant is within walking distance of all the main theatres. The gluten free bread was served warm with seaweed butter which was an amazing combination. The meal offered so many unique flavour combinations that we’d never had before, we especially love the saffron mayonnaise and whipped cream horseradish. We also got surprised with a gf/df cake for my family member’s birthday which we all loved. The meal was such a unique experience and we will definitely be coming back!

I wanted a restaurant which offered a completely gluten free menu so my daughter who has coeliac disease could choose anything from it. Indigo at One Aldwych offered this and more. Great service, quality, locally sourced British ingredients, sustainable. Lovely food and desserts, excellent choice of wines and such a great location especially if you are visiting the theatre/Covent Garden area. The menu is also dairy free. Highly recommend wether you are needing a gluten and dairy free menu or not as you would never know.

I have been to a lot of restaurants that are 100% gluten-free, but I've never found a restaurant that was also 100-percent dairy free. On top of that it was a fine dining restaurant and all their food was delicious. They had amazing drinks, appetizers, main dishes and desserts. The service was fantastic which is not something we have experienced so far in London. They even put our coats on for us as we left! Couldn't ask for much more. This truly was a fantastic experience overall.

Fantastic Hotel. Our bags were collected before entering the building. We were shown to the bar before going into the restaurant for afternoon tea. The cocktails were delicious, nuts and olives were an added bonus. The restaurant was fairly small but very comfortable and looked beautiful. The Charlie and the chocolate factory themed afternoon tea was outstanding. The cocktail to go with the tea was served in a smoking glass teapot, great touch! All the savoury dishes were great and the sweets and cakes were delicious. Great staff, they couldn't do enough for us, very friendly and helpful throughout our experience. I would highly recommend.

Myself and my friend came here this evening as a treat for ourselves and I have to say… this was one of the most incredible meals (and experiences) I have ever had. The staff were so attentive and caring Alexandru made sure we had everything we needed throughout. The atmosphere was perfect, no loud music just gentle and relaxing as well as not feeling too rushed or busy. As my friend is Dairy free and I am Coeliac it was brilliant being able to share the same meal and not feel like a hinderance for the kitchen staff. Truly amazing and we will definitely be coming back!!

I love this restaurant! I wanted to have a British Tea that all the tourist want, but I’m gluten free. I found Indigo at One Aldwych through reviews, and after dining there can highly recommend it as an amazing tea for anyone to enjoy. The ambience is calm and lovely, but does require a step up from usual tourist dress. The savories and the sweets were top notch.

We went to Indigo for a special birthday breakfast and were not disappointed. It's pricey but worth it. We got rosti and waffles. Both were excellent, balanced with good accompaniments. The real highlight was the service. Incredible from start to finish. A wonderful place for a special date. They even brought us a little birthday cake surprise at the end.

First, the entire menu is gluten AND dairy free, which is amazing in itself. But the food stands on its own and compares to any other restaurant I have dined at that uses gluten and dairy. The food is pure artistry. Our party of four ordered almost everything on the menu, including all 5 of the desserts. Seriously, you have to try this place. We ate almost everything on the menu, had a bottle of wine, and the bill was still less than $350. This would have cost me well more than this in US. When you consider the fantastic service we received and the skill it takes to cook food this good, this is likely the BEST meal I have EVER had.

Absolutely amazing food and a delight for me as the whole menu is gluten and dairy free! The staff is really friendly too. We have been here about 5 times now and every time it's amazing! The food is absolutely mouthwatering and the staff are amazing. Thoroughly recommend!!!

Had a great dinner at Indigo celebrating a birthday. Being able to have a family member with Coeliac's order anything off the menu was such a novelty. Beer Battered fish and chips was something they had never been able to order before! Great service too and a lovely location

Mark of a truly good chef is when their food can bring out memories. The food was perfectly balanced in taste and at no point did it tip over to being overpowering. Flavours were subtle yet powerful. The ambience, service and the overall vibe of the place could only be summed up as Lively. The best part is, Its a completely gluten-free menu.

This is my favourite and go-to place for a celebratory or quiet me-time meal. Everyone from the reception to the restaurant staff are just so warm and welcoming! The food is delicious and the best part is that they are all dairy free and gluten-free! Last Saturday I tried their afternoon tea and was so impressed by the selection of savouries, scones and sweet cakes. My favourites include the John Ross smoked salmon, truffle mushroom toasty (with the super cute fried quail egg on top) and the lemon and black sesame cake made with honey from the hotel’s own rooftop. The scones were amazingly good too - I’d say even better than the gluten ones that I can remember. I loved the berry jam most of all. I would have had seconds if I wasn’t too full. Highly recommend and I’ll keep coming back. :)

An unforgettable dinner, had never try a gluten-free restaurant in London, the food was flavourful, the best part is the surprise birthday cake for my wife which has make her day even more special.

If I could give this restaurant 6 stars, I absolutely would. Indigo is one of my favourite - if not THE favourite - restaurants worldwide. The fact the entire establishment is gluten free AND dairy free is mind-blowing. As someone who is gluten and lactose intolerant, yet still indulges in other animal products, the offerings on the menu are perfectly tailored to my tastebuds and dietary requirements. The food is inventive, fresh, and flavourful. On the menu, you can find high-quality GF + DF versions of usually wheat-and-dairy filled British classics, such as Fish and Chips and Wellingtons, and more modern fare, such as Grilled Spiced Monkfish and Quail Balotine. I also appreciate the commitment to seasonal and sustainable cooking practices. I've dined here with people who don't avoid gluten and dairy, and they have also adored their meals. They are not excellent for GF/DF items - they are excellent and happen to be GF/DF. I absolutely need to highlight the homemade bread and dairy-free butter. I dream of it. I ate my roll and the entire butter spread so quickly, that my server brought me over two extra portions. I ate both of them immediately. They're that good! The atmosphere in the space is cozy and intimate, and the serve is superb. Truly a standout restaurant in London, especially for those with particular dietary requirements. A must!

This place is hands down the best place I have been for a gluten free dinner …. Ever! They did a ‘Cornish’ theme, with all food sourced from Devon and Cornwall. It was all absolutely delicious and the quality and presentation amazing. My husband was equally impressed and commented that unlike other GF foods being a little less like the original, this was amazing unconditionally. The chef was outstanding. Wish this was closer to home. But will be a regular when I am back in London!

Loved this restaurant , yes it’s dairy and gluten free (all dishes) but it even impressed my normal partner. The service was attentive but personable , we were never rushed or sat waiting for wine! Will be going back to try their Yorkshire puddings !

I dined here with my partner for our anniversary. We had a wonderful meal in a wonderful setting with a wonderful ambience after watching the Lion King. The staff at this establishment are all impeccable and very welcoming. Service was excellent from start to finish, and I would be delighted to dine here again. I would like to give a special shout out to 🌟LEROY 🌟 for making our anniversary so special with his attentive and caring service. He also went above and beyond in making that moment memorable for me. I will cherish that forever 🌟. The food was amazing with so much flavour in each bite. Thank you to the chefs who prepared it. 💛💛 Best customer service, I've had this year. Thank you INDIGO!

A coeliac's dream! Amazing to be able to eat completely gluten free and not have to worry, and the food was incredible too. I could not recommend the fish and chips enough - so crispy! I barely noticed everything was also dairy free it was that good.

We have been celebrating our anniversary at Indigo 2 years in a row and I couldn't be more delighted. The service is superb, the food outstanding and extra safe for us to eat as lactose and gluten intolerant. Special thanks to Salvatore who welcomed us so warmly and to Stefano for looking after us all evening and taking fab pictures of our tipsy faces, that champagne was just too delicious. Thank you for another marvellous experience.

Wow. We had such a fantastic experience here. The vibes, service, food, everything was over the top. It was so nice being able to order anything as it was all gluten and dairy free. It was nice to feel normal and just order anything on the menu! We are so appreciative of our experience here and cannot recommend it enough!!

One of the best dining experiences I have had in a while. The food was exceptional and presentation beautiful. Customer service could not be faulted, all were attentive knowledgeable and helpful but gave you plenty of room and time to enjoy the meal. The restaurant itself is beautiful, relaxing and at this time of year, very festive. I loved it and will be going back as soon as I am able.

Indigo at One Aldwych was outstanding- my father in law said it was probably his best night out at a restaurant in London. Firstly the acoustics are excellent, allowing for easy conversation that made our group feel like we were in our own private space despite being in a buzzing central London hot spot. Secondly the food was fabulous, - the black garlic and heritage beetroot starter was superb for example - not to mention a very well-curated wine list. Somewhat unbelievably the entire menu is gluten-free and dairy-free; it was a refreshing change for our GF guest to order freely without any of the usual stress or limitations. That said it you would never know it - the bread that came free with the meal was some of the best I have ever tasted and I had to double check it was indeed gluten free. Finally Alex our waiter on the night made us feel special and he went to great lengths to ensure we were well taken care of - the perfect balance of friendly but not over familiar —attentive and professional throughout. We celebrated a double birthday here and would heartily recommend it for a special occasion - it wasn’t cheap but it was actually great value for an unforgettable evening.

Really beautiful place. Amazing and attentive staff - from front-of-door, to the front-of-house in the restaurant. Very accommodating - as one of us was slightly feeling under the weather - they brought honey, tea and hot water. Food was amazing, though fussy/fancy - was reasonable for the place and price. Will go here again.

The service was first class. The chef even substituted vegan options for the 3 course lunch set. Food was amazing and the atmosphere was just so christmasy! I enjoyed dining here.

My wife has recently been diagnosed as Coeliac and we struggle to find a restaurant that can cater for her. It was our wedding anniversary and I wanted to treat her to a fantastic dinner. This place is amazing! The food was outstanding and the service was super. We will be back.

Total five star experience. Impeccable service. The tasting menu was a good option for trying six courses and having them expertly paired with wine. As a single diner I felt very welcomed and attended to. The strawberry creme brûlée paired with a blush wine was an amazing finish to a fabulous experience.

Enjoyed the tasting menu for our anniversary...it. Was. Amazing. The mini loaves were delightful, the pea soup left us wanting more. The scallops with rhubarb were surprising. The pork, let me take a moment to respect that dish..the sauce was just packed full of flavour, the meat and all of the veg were delicious. Pimms in a dessert, wow. The mint sorbet was so refreshing and complemented beautifully. The chocolate mousse was a perfect chocoholic delight. The rest of the world disappeared for me with this one. Having not had a proper dessert for years with my food intolerances, I was in heaven. My other half is a chef and didn't missing gluten or dairy at all during the meal. The waiting staff were fabulous, attentive but not intrusive. The whole experience was just brilliant, highly recommended..particularly if you are gluten and dairy free, but honestly that doesn't matter..the food was great. We will definitely be returning!

Ok, this is a genuine gem! Myself and partner had an incredible time here and can't recommend it enough Coats taken, beautiful table set, and Patricia, our server, already there to help anyway she could! Fresh bread served with some kind of bacon/onion butter was so delicious I could have eaten that for the whole night!!! We ordered cocktails, Salted Caramel Espresso Martini and a For Love. Well these were perfection, the For Love came with its own little shaker so you could top it up and my martini was like a dessert! Yum bloody yum! Me and my lady have a little game in who will order the best for each course......here's how we got on! We order from the main menu, pigs cheeks and Clarence court egg.....starters! Pigs cheeks were fresh, perfectly cooked, moist and flavoursome! The egg....well that was in a bed of mushrooms, divine in their preparation and mixed with the poached yolk blew my mind! I lost this round! The egg has it! Main course was next but not before we had some of the salmon fizz to cleanse the palette.....nice but not necessary. Trish orders a bottle of the Chilean Grenache, a nice strong but not lingering red, with peppery tones. Was a wine I would drink for breakfast! Delicious and went amazing with the; Venison and blackberries Sirloin in the bone The venison. OUTSTANDING! DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING ELSE EVEN IF YOU ARE VEGAN.....ITS SO DELICIOUS! The sirloin.....meh. cooked perfectly, looked amazing but the taste of whatever cooked it (petrol??) Resided too much to make it preferable. Grills are good when all you can taste is the food or burnt! We want caramelised flavour, rookie mistake there. We had all the sides and all were 10/10. Chips, crunchy and crisp. Salad fresh and tangy but pointless to order if I'm honest! New potatoes were seriously spot on served with thyme! Greens, were lovely and salty, wilted to perfection! Again Trish wins! Venison all the way! 0-2! We plough through the wine and head on to the desserts..... In between this our male server came to take our plates which ended up in a lovely conversation about life, the world and everything ...you know who you are and we will be in Berlin soon!! Thank you for being so friendly and we enjoyed the intelligent conversation with you!! So, we get a great dessert wine, then order the chocolate mousse and the crème brulé! I won't mess about, Jesus the mousse was insane!!!! Crème brulé my arse . ..sorry Karolina/Carolina but this was nothing like a crème brulé......bland, topping was obviously pre made and the base was sad and flavourless....I really have had a million of these and this didn't even rank.... I lose again! 0-3 to Trish! We loved this meal. The atmosphere is amazing! You can hear the bar downstairs, the servers are the best I have ever come across and the set up is fantastic. You won't be disappointed but you might want to follow Trishas recommendations from now on! Price £££ out of 5 Big thank you to Patricia and our German server (I don't think we got your name but told your restaurant manager how good you were!). You absolutely killed it and made our night! The food is only 50%, the rest is everything else! Thank you!

Indigo is located on the first floor of the one Aldwych hotel. It’s a mezzanine floor looking out to the bar downstairs, slight lower ceilings with Nice interior, Warm welcome. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We have a show at 7.30 and opted for the theatre menu. The tomato salad was good as was the chicken terrine. The pork dish was presented beautifully with a little cup of mushrooms, pancetta and peas. Sauce was excellent. An excellent choice for dining around Theaterland.

Lovely setting and excellent service. Half our party eat from the pre-theatre menu and half from the a la carte. The highlights were the fish and chips, where the chips were marvellous and the slow cooked lamb which amazingly was crispy as well as beautifully tender inside. We also had a cocktail in the bar before which was tasty and well presented. Overall service very good as well.

Pio, my server, was a delight. He easily accepted I was gluten intolerant and explained each item he served me. I indulged in a different tea for each course and the one he suggested for the sweets was my favorite. I wouldn't have tried the Lemon Verbena without his encouragement. It was an impulse to stop for afternoon tea and I so glad I did.

We absolutely enjoyed our evening at Indigo. The staff was very kind, we felt very comfortable. The food was incredible, ingredients were super fresh and didn’t need any seasoning, that truly says something! The pavlova was a work of art as well! Can’t wait to come back ☺️

We had an awesome time at Indigo’s. We booked a table at 5.30 for pre-theatre, which was perfectly handled by the restaurant. The waiters are kind, polite and they make sure you have everything you need during your dinner. The restaurant offers a pre-theatre menu with 2/3 courses, it’s affordable and quick. The food is excellent and the white wine we tasted was very good. I recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or if you need to go to the theatre (just in front, by the way).

Absolutely fantastic place to eat - ambience, comfort, service, menu and food all first class, as you might expect from a Michelin star restaurant. However this one is very special. The entire menu is *also* fully gluten and dairy free. This is the place where the head chef converted the menu to being so without initially announcing or promoting it, as he wanted to ensure that the food was first of all fantastic rather than relying upon free from credentials. Having trialled the menu with positive feedback for several months, he then made the knowledge public. This is a destination venue for anyone, but *especially* for anyone gluten or dairy free. Go here for any special occasion. Go here for an absolute treat. I do not think there is a better fine dining restaurant for gluten and dairy free eaters anywhere else in London, perhaps . . . . the world? Really. Try it and judge for yourself :-)

Excellent gluten free lunch for a special occasion! We had fish and chips which was served very interestingly and a complimentary dessert for my partners birthday!

This was our first visit to Indigo & I'm sure it won't be our last. We came for the fully gluten & dairy free kitchen & left amazed at the fantastic quality of the food. The service was outstanding.

This is a great restaurant that can always be relied upon to serve superb meals with an excellent team of friendly and attentive staff. The new Sunday brunch option is highly recommended with an amazing choice of mains and desserts. The tasty selection of anti pasta served at the bar with a glass of Bollinger (or bloody Mary) is a nice touch to kick off one's leisurely Sunday afternoon. We had the roast chicken for our main and naturally it came with all the trimmings. It was perfect and the portion size was just right - leaving us some room to work our way through the selection of desserts. The option of pairing the meal with a Bollinger champagne flight is interesting and definitely recommended. It's a little pricey but well worth the splurge. This is also a great place for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals - we've already booked! Many thank to Celia and her awesome team for making our visit so much fun.

N

Slightly mixed feelings about this afternoon tea. It wasn't bad hence the 4-stars! The guy who looked after us was excellent & the surroundings and atmosphere were really nice. We were pleased to be able to get a bottle of house white wine for £30 whereas we were told on the phone that the cheapest bottle was £44! & that is just a step too far. The savoury course was superb! It really was impressive - we did ask if we could have some more but advised that we should have the sweet course first as that was very filling. It was okay. The 2 types of scones were excellent (not big) & the coconut cream they came with was gorgeous. The other selection of cakes was nothing that special if I am honest. So we did ask for more savoury bits after which was a bit annoying going 'backwards'. With all these things, it really is a matter of taste, We have had other afternoon teas that suited us better! 😊

For me it was a restaurant paradise without any dairy products. I think if the prices were a little more average I would also go back again :). The service was excellent, the food was good with special flavors, I really enjoyed it.

C
Colin S

I love flavor. The food is presented nicely, and they are celiac friendly to the core. But I wouldn't say that the food is worth it though. The food was ok. Not really worth a second visit. The servers were expectional. The place is a bit too loud. But understandable since it is on the mezzanine. Recommended to try 1 time. But not worth more than that.

M
Michelle Li

Great quality food and professional staff. The gluten-free and vegan bread was a winner, especially with the vegan nori butter spread. Our starters and mains all tasted great. I had the celeriac soup and potato gnocchi. The only improvements would be the sides. The potatoes and broccoli were boring and bland. Our dessert took almost 40 mins after our meal to come but it was worth wait.

A
Angela Lau

Loved how gracious they were for me running late and having my food served within 5 min of me arriving (I preordered) and we had plenty of time for 2 courses before Tina the Musical! The creme brûlée had the perfect wobble (but it’s not dairy free)!

J
June Sciortino

I have been coming to Indigo for many, many years, the food and service is the best. As a person who is a celiac, dairy and soya intolerant, I can always rely on Dominic Teague. However, last night for the first time ever, I was unable to eat a dessert, because of the soya content. I was offered only a rhubarb dessert, which I dislike. This is upsetting because it is probably one of the rare restaurants where I can have a dessert. Please stop using soya everywhere.

J
Jodi B

For sure, this place is certainly allergen friendly. However, with this high of a price point, I would expect the food to be more substantial and contain some semblance of flavor. I would not willingly return. I don't recommend this to travelers it is not worth the time or money.

A
Alexandra M. Yarger

The food was beautiful and the service was also very good, but the flavours were somewhat disappointing. We had the 3 course pre-theatre menu. The chicken Pâté was odd and had bits of gristle. The only flavour in the dish came from the sardines. The trout was good, if a little old fashioned in its presentation. The pork was also good, but it was just pork, nothing interesting or inventive about it. I wasn't able to eat more than a few bites of my pollock as it had no seasoning and the skin was soggy. The green sauce that came on the side was vibrant, but sadly also had no flavour. The potatoes were the only component of the dish that was seasoned and I did enjoy them. The staff did notice that I did not enjoy it, and we were not charged for this dish. For dessert we had "crème brulée" the top was unbreakable, so we could only chip away a bit at the edges and the bottom was tasty, but definitely not crème brulée. The best part was the apricot layer which went beautifully with the lavender sauce. Our other dessert was a chocolate mousse with some raspberry components. It was also good, but not spectacular. The crunchy raspberry wafer was the star as it balanced out the other soft textures. They also brought us a chocolate birthday cake which I suspect they keep a stock of frozen. It was not nice. My favorite part of the meal was my cocktail. A vanilla and passion fruit martini. It was lovely. The French martini was fine. The decor was also quite beautiful and buzzing, but if I were to return, I would stick to the bar on the first floor.

B
Brett Eveleigh

Food is decent but not exceptional. Price is way too high for the quality and portions are quite small. Menu descriptions can be misleading. 7 pound for a bottle of water, 8 pound for a portion of about 8 chips.
