Love this place Miguel is always very welcoming must try the croquettes mussels paella. can't wait to go back
La Paella Tapas Bar is an amazing place with delicious authentic Spanish food, La Paella Marinara it's a must when visiting.
The atmosphere was amazing. The food is authentic and absolutely delicious. The staff was very friendly.
So good. The food was fantastic. Great price and portion sizes. I loved paella and this was great. The tapas portions were great value for money. The staff were very friendly and the service was prompt even though the place was full. Although I think the dining space is accessible, the toilets are down 2 stairs, so this would be worth noting for those needing ease of access, and I didn't notice anywhere else for accessible toilets. A heads up though, they put a service charge on top of your bill which I don't feel is right. I always tip and normally 10%, but I don't agree with it being on the bill and at 15%. We stumbled upon this place and would definitely highly recommend going if you are in the area.
Amazing tapas, good portions, the wine selection is quite unique in quality and the service up to standards, good value for money- I highly recommend Las Paellas
Very lovely, cosy small restaurant. The Tapas are great. Paella is very good. Sangria went perfectly with the dishes. You can feel the friendliness of a family long-time business.
All fresh and delicious home-made Spanish food. Cosi restaurant. Highly recommend to you to visit and taste the food. I always come back to this restaurant. I love it!!!👌
This place is fantastic. Every time we go there I think to myself why I don't go there enough. Food is absolutely gorgeous ,very well prepared and very authentic. The owner is very friendly and always has spare time to come and make us feel welcome. I strongly recommend this place! Must try: the croquettas and letche fritta for desert!
Amazing food and service. Fair price. Would recommend to any lover of spanish traditional food
We had different types of tapas All excellent. Good friendly service. Nice atmosphere and background music
Great food and service. Very attentive.
Delicious piece of Spain in North London! Love this place!
I had lunch here today with my boyfriend and I've tasted the Paella for the first time in my life: it's delicious! We ordered a paella for 2 people and they gave us a very big and rich portion of rice with seafood and chicken. We also ordered some garlic bread and tomato bread, which was so good! I really suggest this place to everyone who is looking for something different, and wants to try something new! The owner of this restaurant is a very kind and polite guy. Prices are very convenient. Thank you so much for this amazing lunch!
Great place for some Spanish food. The tapas I ordered were great - croquetas de la casa ( the small portion of salad that goes with it was so tasty) and Carillera Artesana de Teruel - slow cooked wild boar served on a bed of chips & paprika. Much better than most places you find out there that serve dry and flavourless. This place is awesome - the service was quick, polite and very accommodating.
We loved it! The owner was wonderful he served us personally and with enthusiasm and he loved to chat which we really liked. The food was good quality and very good value. Will definitely be coming again!!
We always come here when we in London - an experience like no other - you are part of the La Paella family! The reserve wines you are served and the Tapas are to die for!!
What an amazing place! The staff are absolutely perfection, they are funny, nice and make you feel so at home .. and the food, ahh the food is beautiful we can’t wait to come back and eventually get through the whole menu! Juan (waiter) is the best waiter there is! He was funny sweet and made us feel like we knew him for years! What a wonderful man!
Really good paella and nice service. The patatas bravas were good, but the chistorra could be better.
The finest Spanish restaurant in town. I am a regular here and here's why: The food, the drinks, the friendly service, and the Spanish music. The Tapas here is delicious. They serve a variety of delicious tapas; - Paela with chicken and seafood - Fish cakes - Spanish sausage cooked in red wine - Mussels in chilly tomato sauce This all goes well with the House wine. Available in red and white. I recommend red wine. For dessert, the best thing of all is the delicious Chocolate con Churros. Served on a wooden tray accompanied by a little bowl of warm creamy chocolate sauce for you to dip them in. To go with that they offer some nice hot drinks. My personal favorite is their latte. The atmosphere feels very authentic. The staff are friendly and there is beautiful Spanish music played here. No matter what part of the year it is, you feel like you are in Spain. This is a wonderful restaurant. Usually I come here for the fine latte and as a place to read. It's a great place to spend with family and friends for all occasions. Gracias!
This restaurant has very nice food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Visited twice of the weekend. First had a couple of tapas (which are very generous portions) followed by a meat paella. Excellent paella, properly cooked do all the juices had been absorbed by the rice. Packed with meat too. Second time shared 5 tapas plates and were absolutely full! Great atmosphere. Very friendly staff - gent served on Saturday, young lady on Sunday. Both excellent, efficient, attentive.
We tried this Spanish restaurant for the first time, having driven past it many times. It really is excellent with a great selection of tapas as well as traditional Spanish dishes (although not migas de pastor!). Nice selection of Spanish wines too, although only House Red, White and Rioja served by the glass, which is a pity. It was quiet but it was during the Christmas week when I think most restaurants are subdued. We will definitely be back. Note that parking is dreadful around Southgate tube station but there is parking at M&S for £5 and I think you can park in the Leisure Centre car park.
We enjoyed our visit to La Paella Tapas Bar. We had the beef stew tapas and seafood paella, both of which were outstanding. The food was delicious, and the service was prompt. The atmosphere was inviting, making it a wonderful dining experience.
Great food, authenticate cuisine with traditional Spanish tapas. We had a selection of seafood, sardines, mussels, octopus and was all amazing. The service is excellent and served quickly and overall very food value for money. Thanks Miguel and team!
Highly recommended. If you’re after amazing, authentic tapas, a chilled out atmosphere and attentive and friendly staff then this is the place for you. We enjoyed a wonderful meal here. Recommend the whitebait, calamari and meatballs. Can’t wait to come back soon!
Came here for my Abuela’s birthday who passed away in August, so to find a traditional Spanish restaurant was important, this place was amazing we had 19 dishes and every single one of them was amazing not one bad thing about them, it really brought me back to Spain and I’ve tried many tapas places and nothing comes close to this amazing family run business.
We went to La Paella for a birthday party with 30 guests, Miguel was extremely helpful in the lead up and made sure we had everything we needed. On the night, the whole team were lovely and very attentive, considering how many of us there were. Atmosphere was brilliant and the food was excellent too. Highly recommend for a party or a dinner/lunch for just a few.
Great little restaurant in Southgate! Takes you away from the chain restaurants on the high street and has a nice and authentic menu and atmosphere - would highly recommend!
We are an East Asian family, taking the opportunity of Eat Out to Help Out scheme by venturing our local neighbourhood trying all the restaurants. After months of lockdown the atmosphere of this cosy restaurant made me feel we were on holiday back in Spain, which I very much missed. I called to book a table and despite the restaurant was understandably very busy due to the scheme, the owner was friendly and accommodating and still managed to find us a good table. We ordered a selection of tapas, a few mains. I was pleasantly surprised that they have the black paella on the menu as not many Spanish restaurants in London has this dish available (not in all the restaurants I’ve been to anyway). The food was freshly made. I very much enjoyed my Sangria, the calamari tapas was great and the Paella tasted amazing! It exceeded my expectations with fresh fish and clean mussels, even my picky partner was impressed. I wanted to order the churros but we were too full. I don’t know why we did not try this place before, maybe because I wrongly assumed the best Spanish cuisine was in Spain! So yes, I recommend this place and will return. Thank you and hope your business will be well during this difficult time 😊
Found by accident and was not disappointed, a really friendly, family run authentic restaurant. Nice to see a slight different take on regional dishes which were delicious. The paella was packed full of delicious ingredients and certainly was more than enough for 2 😋😋😋 The staff were all approachable and friendly, certainly cant wait to see when they have flamenco on. Thank you for a great experience and look forward to seeing you again
The food was amazing and the service was top tier so happy with the experience and would definitely recommend for a good meal out
What a lovely place. Friendly owners. Great tasty menu. Very close to the Southgate underground. Toilets available. Definitely worth visiting.
Had a fantastic lunch today at La Paella Tapas Bar in Southgate. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food was spot on. The highlight was definitely the ink paella very rich, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. A special shoutout to Miguel, the owner, who was an amazing host and made the whole experience even better. Can’t wait to come back!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Incredible food and amazing service! La Paella is a hidden gem! The food was absolutely delicious—every tapa was full of flavor, and the paella was one of the best I’ve ever had. You can really taste the care and quality in every bite. A special shoutout to Mike, the owner, who made the experience even better. He was welcoming, attentive, and clearly passionate about what he does. His personal touch really sets this place apart. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic Spanish food and a great atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back!
Our first visit here and we enjoyed the meal thoroughly. We had a selection of tapas. The octopus was divine. Miguel was very welcoming and it was lovely to hear the history of this restaurant which is a long standing local institution we were lucky to experience. Looking forward to next time!
What an amazing food experience! Nice atmosphere, quick service and food thays going to bring you back!
I went on a Thursday at 1pm, this was a good time to go for me as it was more quiet. I was impressed with the food and was happy that what we wanted was available. The service was good. The food was high quality, fresh, tasty and the portion sizes were big enough. I especially enjoyed the fresh octopus. Was happy with the prices. I can see why this place survived the pandemic. Hope to go back with more family next time.
Have visited this restaurant many times over around twenty years. The food is always great and there are lots of choices (I am vegetarian and never struggle to find options). Service is excellent. A very friendly place. Thoroughly recommended.
Love this place….have only been a customer for 30years ….Fab authentic Spanish food made and served by the same Family all this time. Excellent service Fair pricing Wonderful atmosphere
Food was impeccable. Service was great and loved that they came to chat to us. Great music and loved the decor. Our new favourite local, we will be going back.
Staff were very polite and friendly. Food was amazing, definitely will return again.
Amazing vibe and atmosphere very authentic feel, the food was amazing fresh and vibrant filled with flavour I would definitely go back
La paella never disappoints, lovely family run authentic Spanish restaurant with Real Spanish food. Miguel has created such a lovely welcoming atmosphere. There's nothing on the menu that isn't always spot on. Wish I could eat here every day.
I went there on a Sunday lunch and it was very quiet there. The tapas were amazing especially the boqueronis. I loved the bread there. We ordered paella marinera and it was very nice and sufficient and full of seafood. Thanks a lot for miguel who took care of our table. And im looking forward to come back again. It's 4 stars and not 5 only cz I didn't like the olives😀.
My partner and I had a meal here in October and it was brilliant. The food was amazing. I am not a massive fan of seafood, but we had the seafood paella and all of it was excellent. The service was very quick (drinks & food) and very attentive. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The décor was suited the style of the restaurant and bar and the place was clean, it also had a great atmosphere. It is on a main high street; so parking is a bit of a pain, but worth it. I did notice a sign that said 'toilet are for customers only', I appreciate your in a high foot fall area (near a station), however I am/and know people with medical conditions this always makes be feel a bit negative. Other than that highly recommended.
Second visit for us. Last time we devoured their tapas. This time it was paella. Everything tasted great. Sangria was delicious too. The mussels in the paella could be fresher (my only complaint).
In a nutshell - characterful decor, friendly service, good food, good wine, reasonable prices. A winning combination! A good restaurant to eat at with friends/ significant other and share small tapas plates. I didn't try the paella but can say the tapas is delicious. A good selection of vegetarian (and some vegan) options clearly highlighted on the menu. I especially loved the patatas bravas, the braised spinach, and the cumin chickpeas.
Delicious food. Parking not so good for those that have to drive. Best sangria! Friendly, helpful service.
I stopped for tapas at lunchtime. The croquetas were very good, washed down with half a pint of San Miguel and then a bill equal to a Ryanair flight to Spain. More than 15 quid for a quick ( tasty) snack. £3.50 was a service charge.. But was removed when I pointed out that I ordered at the bar and then paid at the bar.
A very discombobulated dinner experience. We were served by three different servers so each time we tried to wave someone down, requests would go unnoticed or pushed on to someone else. This took even longer when asking for the bill. Wrong food was placed at our table and the drinks order was taken incorrectly. The tables are way too small to have the minimum of 5-6 dishes, so it made for a cumbersome effort to serve, rearrange plates and comfortably eat. This could somewhat be forgiven if the food quality was exceptional but it left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, I would not recommend or return from this first time experience.
