Lovely little gem here! Really enjoyed visiting you guys. Staff were super friendly and helpful with good knowledge, and I could tell they enjoyed working there. It's been on the list to come here for quite some time, and I'm glad to try it out finally. Hoxton overground station is around the corner and super easy to get to. The vibe was super pleasant, with cool people, and the choice of drinks and food was excellent. Such an array it was almost a bit like where to start, no complaints at all. I would recommend going here, and it is great for most occasions, noticed there were people sitting at the bar on their own reading a book; I love that! Shows the type of mix and character of the place. Sorry got one photo of the bar. Plenty of pictures also, I've noticed. Solid A***** LDT x
After following Sager & Wilde on Instagram for the longest time I finally for the chance to visit. A perfect girlie evening of wine and a catch up. This place is perfect for a cosy evening of tasty wine. I imagine if the place is super full as well then it’s a great night with a fun atmosphere. The wine menu is extensive but our server was super helpful. I wanted to finally try an orange wine and was recommended a very tasty one. The obsession has now started. Once my friend arrived we ordered a lovely bottle of red. Again the server was really helpful as we wanted to have something within a certain budget. We got many recommendations before settling on one. I will definitely be back to try more wine. It also a great place to be on your own if you’re looking for a chilled place for some alone time.
Had a great time at the event hosted by Jo Radford and Michael Sager. Visited with a friend. The service was okay for the most part. To note, my food request was acknowledged but not adhered to by the staff 3 times. I’ll chalk that up to it being an absolute mayhem and it being difficult to manage the traffic. Besides that, it was great. I absolutely loved the energy and throughly appreciate the space Michael Sager has created. The service behind the bar throughout the evening left me elated. The architecture and the lighting is also on point. Lively, but quite subtle at the same time. Also the staff member responsible for the oysters was extremely friendly, unfortunately I’ve forgotten their name. I had been meaning to visit but didn’t get a chance to do so because I don’t frequent the area but this event was the perfect opportunity.
I had a wonderful birthday evening with some friends at Sager + Wilde last night. The recommendations were absolutely spot on, the hospitality so warm, the food delicious and the vibe 10/10. Couldn’t recommend more to lovers of cheese and wine!
They were really accommodating I was running late and they allowed me to push my booking back by an hour and then they also let 2 more people join the table unannounced vibes was good drinks was good and the sourdough was amazing !!
Came for the IWD Women Winemaker event and it was great! Great staff, great wine and lovely vibe
I got a big welcoming smile as soon as I peeped into the shop to look for my friend. First good point. Even though it wasn't the place we had decided to go that night, we decided to stay for a glass of wine attracted by the cosy atmosphere. They have an impressive wine list including coravin wines. Jordan and the rest of the team were incredibly helpful and patient to help me find a wine I liked. We didn't try food but we will definitely be back.
We recently celebrated a special occasion at Sager + Wilde, and the experience was flawless from start to finish. Hosting a group of family and friends couldn't have gone smoother. The staff were attentive, clearly well-managed, and provided brilliant wine recommendations. The guests and I had a thoroughly good evening. A massive thank you to the team - we can't wait to return!
I love to discover new and exciting wines and I had the best time at Sager + Wilde. Cosy atmosphere, and the most unique flavours available on the by the glass list. The sommelier was super friendly and indulged us with a deep explanation of the wines, how they’re produced and even gave us tips on which producers to search for in our next trip destination. Will definetely be back when I’m in London and you should visit too :)
My boyfriend and I met at Sager + Wilde and we celebrated our 1 year anniversary there last night. The team were so incredible and made us feel very special. The food is delicious and the wine list is spectacular. Would definitely recommend this place for any occasion but it seems to bring particular luck if visited on a first date
Been going to Sager & Wilde for years and it’s consistently great! The team working there are lovely, the drinks are brilliant and the snacks food menu really compliments it.
Always amazing! The perfect wine list and delicious snacks to pair.
Very cute wine bar with good vibes and a cozy atmosphere.
Great place, lovely people. The kind of people that will invite you in to take shelter when it’s raining and play you cool records while waiting for the storm to pass. Nice selection of wines too.
Love it!! Unpretentious wine bar with a great menu, good prices and delicious wines and snacks (including toasted sandwiches) Cool venue and great atmosphere with good crowd! Always lovely staff working there. Great prices for how close it is to Shoreditch and certainly cheaper than some other wine bars in the area considering how good the wines are, which is great! Good for a date or a chat or a solo drink at the bar! 🍷
Definitely a wine bar you should visit. Atmosphere and music perfect. Also, their wine list is amazing.
A very interesting and eclectic wine list full with very interesting options and gems to be discover. Really nice atmosphere and excellent service. I will definitely go back multiple times.
Really nice place, with only natural wines, that are very testy !! I recommend it, if you search for wine bar in East London.
Great little wine bar. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable on the wine list, which made the recommendations spot on. The food is good, especially the cheese board. Overall a great way to spend you afternoon.
This is a lovely cozy bar, well located in Shoreditch area. The wine options (both by the glass and the bottle) are exceptional - a lot of interesting and high quality options for a reasonable price. The food is divine, with lots of vegetarian options including burrata and labneh. The staff are lovely, experts in wine and service. Highly recommend.
Very lovely wine bar in East London. The staff are all super helpful and can help you choose a great wine based on your taste needs and budget. Good food that is fairly priced for the area. A place that feels really genuine!
Food here was really good. Got the cheese toasties which were delicious, cheese plate and burrata. My one comment would be that it would be good to be able to choose from a selection of cheeses, rather than just the 3 provided. Wine selection was impressive, there wasn't that many soft drinks but the man who served me kindly offered to make an off menu non-alc drink which I appreciated
Fantastic wine bar with a lovely vibe. Went on a weeknight for some drinks and snacks and it was unexpectedly busy. However, our server (Connie) managed to see to us frequently and never made us feel rushed, even bringing tasters of wines and discussing choices. The bar manager also came to help us and talked through some wine choices and was generally very helpful! I’m only sad that they had sold out of the pâté en croute but I suppose that’s just another reason to go back (as if the delicious wines, cheeses, and charcuterie weren’t enough)!
Truly great restaurant on the corner. Large and interesting selection of wine and mezcal and fresh, thoughtful menu to pick from. Brin was our server and he was really informed on the wine available and helped us pick a great one to pair with our cheese board. Can’t wait to come back.
Excellent wines and good quality nibbly foods to go with. The place has a warm, convivial atmosphere with guests packed in. They were kind accommodating us when we didn’t have a reservation on a busy Saturday night - would recommend booking.
First time here today, had a dirty martini, was a really nice bar and will be back again at some point 😆(short but sweet)
Amazing selection of wines and veeery friendly service. 12/10
This is such a wonderful place - I always try something different, interesting and delicious. The staff are a delight and informative when helping with the wine list without being patronising or snobbish. We had the burrata and charcuterie too, and it was fab. Can’t recommend enough
Nice overall. Still not a great selection of wines by the glass and the cheese selection that we tried was a bit poor for the price.
Nice place and good wine. Bottles are expensive, only a handful worth trying below £60. We paid £110 for one full bottle and an additional 4 glasses. Service was only ok.
Delicious food, good wines by the glass, well priced, friendly service, good atmosphere - what's not to like!? Was my first time there, will definitely be back! One tiny niggle, the 12.5% service fee that gets added on automatically, is a little presumptuous.
Good vibe, intimate. A little overpriced wine list, and small and not very tempting food menu. We are still not sure if the person that came to our table was the sommelier but he certainly didn’t act like one. If you’re a wine lover, there are dozens of spots in London to find a better experience. Another thing to take into consideration: they add a 12.5 service fee.
Wine and beer was served warm. Overpriced wine and severed 125ml only! Disappointing 😞
£20 for two glasses of wine..thank you London! The cheapest red was sour (I don't think going for the cheapest should mean cutting back on taste!). I'm definitely not an expert but this wasn't worth it. Service charge included of course but our waitress didn't tend to us (probably was annoyed) after we told her twice we needed more time to choose. However the atmosphere is very cosy which is nice. Disappointed overall!
Nice interior and outdoor area. Delicious glass of natural white wine. Food was tasty and great selection but far too much oil in every dish including on the already fried foccacio. Service slow in taking our orders. Would have been 4star+ otherwise
Mixed experience here. Cute place with a nice atmosphere and friendly service. Good cocktails but average & expensive food and wine by the glass. Had a great time for a friend's birthday, good vibes and nice cocktails not overly expensive. Went back for cheese & wine. We ordered the 19£ cheese platter: good but not wow cheese & very small quantity + bread was bad (not fresh/ had been fried and left out for while). Wine by the glass were 10-20£ each, not bad but far from great. Bottles are very expensive.
Came in here hoping for a quick drink before dinner next door and waited as didn't want to sit somewhere if it was reserved but no one acknowledged us so eventually started to ask barman very politely but he interrupted me saying he was in the middle of saying goodbye to someone even though she was practically walking out the door already with an eyeroll and then also eyerolled at my dad so we all left because felt so uncomfortable he was so rude. Won't be trying again!
I received service from front of staff which was bizarre and unpleasant. One person talked over me during multiple interactions and was impatient. It seemed like they were having a bad day and misplacing that. I tried to connect and reset the interaction to be a little more pleasant, but that was dismissed, and they ultimately made me feel like I was the problem, which came across rude. It was a shame because I was open to having a nice time and that’s not my usual experience of interacting with people. It was odd. The person behind the bar was helpful and nice. It was expensive - not unusual for a gentrified London bougie wine bar, but altogether with the service it was off putting. I’m disappointed to say that I wouldn’t recommend.
Revised Review: - Beware. The wines they serve here are all natural. We made the mistake of buying a bottle of wine, which was £66. When it was poured it was orange. It tasted revolting. We complained but were informed that all the wines were 'natural'. They really should tell customers that they are ordering 'natural' wine. We then ordered some house red which was just about drinkable. But we were not happy at all. Service was not brilliant. One of the barmen just carried on a conversation mid sale. Another member of staff said I was being harsh for complaining. To add insult to injury, they then added a 12% service charge to the bill. We refused to pay it. This is the first time I have ever been charged a service charge on drinks. And it is the first time I have ever refused to pay a service charge. We have been to this bar many times before and it has been great. I must say that whatever changes they have made in the service ethos and wine selection are entirely negative. We won't return and can't recommend it.
Worst wine bar ever! Worst service. Was very excited to taste the quality of the wines, they didn't even put the wine in a proper wine glass. They don't educate about wine quality, not even the food plates..... it was 0-10 in my opinion. So expensive as well for the amount of food
I just tried to meet some friends here for a drink and was chased out by the two rudest barmaids I’ve ever seen (one short dark hair, one blonde bob) because I didn’t have a reservation. If you’re full, fine. But don’t be rude for daring to step into your business for a drink. They may as well have spit on me and I’ll definitely NEVER be back. Service like this is what gives east London a reputation for being full of ride hipsters. Shame on you.
