I thought the restaurant was very nice. It wasn't crowded, at least at the time we went there, and the prices are a little high but the food is great. The dish I had was delicious. The salmon was fresh and wasn't dry and overcooked. The couscous good, it was in a creamy sauce and full of flavor.
Great place for a meal. Very quite and the aera is very nice at night. Food was wonderful.
Great breakfast ! I had a full english breakfast, perfectly prepared ! And we also had royal eggs ... just perfect to wake you up. The place is very clean, great welcome, thank you to the waiter who helped us choosing our smoothies ! Located in a very quiet area of london, very peaceful !
Lovely long Island Iced Tea (can't taste booze but defo there) good selection of wine by the glass (even better by bottle) and great menu to cater all tastes. Staff charming and helpful. Have a paddle in the near by fountain after. Winning Friday
Went there for breakfast. Has my vote as the best breakfast in canary wharf. I've been trawling the breakfast venues of the wharf for a while now. For quality and taste Tom's places number one. Closely followed by the breakfast club. Tom's is a little more pricey but it's worth it for the quality. If you want cheap then head to wetherspoons.
Friendly and helpful service, relaxing atmosphere, plenty of dishes on the menu from venison bourguignon, chicken schnitzel and risotto to burgers with truffle chips – very fulfilling portions for a reasonable price. Just a 5-minute walk from Canary Wharf tube station.
What a lovely experience! We reserved a table for two for Sunday brunch, which turned up to be a smart thing to do, because when we got there the place was surprisingly busy, seemed to be a go- to place for families with young children. Staff was absolutely brilliant and nice, latte macchiato was the one you would usually get in Italy, best one I had in London so far. My Eggs Royal were spot on, so was English breakfast and smoothies. Place has a welcoming vibe and we left with bellies pleasantly full and wanting to come back very soon.
It is a family and dog friendly venue. Always there for you. Food is quite good. Service is great. The manager always attentive. One of the few places in London where the manager does a good job with the guests. I really appreciate the servers and runners there. Never had an issue
Lovely comfortable surrounding followed by attentive service and gorgeous food. Didn't feel at all rushed, so was able to sit and enjoy our delicious bottle of wine. Highly recommended
Took my mum here for lunch on her birthday. Really lovely, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Good selection of food on the menu, and what we had was delicious. Friendly and attentive staff who provided excellent service, and went the extra mile to make my mums birthday extra special. Highly recommended.
Decent place for a brunch and catch up with friends. Good menu selection and prices match what you’d expect to pay for London brunch.
Bit quiet for a Friday night tho food was great!
We were a big group but the staff did muddle several orders. Very polite and food was amazing!
The dressed-crab is the best! Love it!
Went here with my wife for our wedding anniversary dinner recently. WE used the Opentable offer - the restaurant was nice and quiet for a Friday evening. Food was very good as was the service will definitely come back again.
Great for a family brunch at the weekend: they validate parking (a huge advantage at canary wharf!) and kids eat free (though we usually have to remind them of this.) There's a children's play area and excellent changing facilities. Great to combine with a visit to Museum of London Docklands or Crossrail Gardens.
Good brunch place with a decent selection continental style menu options... and the deepest yellow eggs. Try the blueberry pancakes (I had with a side of bacon) or the belgian waffle with fruit compote. Warning: the place looked closed from the outside but turns out there are two bits to the restaurant!
Being a vegetarian I always get served a risotto where ever I go ... chefs need more inspiration I think. Anyway ... the venue was nice and staff were courteous. Visited as a part of a group set meal.
The Tom's Kitchen deli/cafe is a fabulous addition to the usual predictable coffee chains in Canary Wharf's corporate district. Staff is always friendly, the coffee addictive, and the fresh juices/salads/sandwiches worth the premium. The restaurant also provides the perfect opportunity for a finer work lunch/dinner, and happy hour is a bargain!
Only been to the Coffee Shop! But my my is it quite good..Better than the bland franchise offerings which are the typical offering around these parts. When I flee the grey banality of my office building I will choose to go to Tom's Kitchen..its a bit of a walk (so more time out) but the Coffee and amazing (but dangerous) brownies on offer are deffo worth the effort..
Great place (really spacious, attractive environment) wonderful service. I would definitely go there again. We did order a set priced menu which did exceed what we anticipated spending however
Great choice of food and drinks. Restaurant layout modern, and interesting. Good service. Reasonable prices. Pop in for a snack or meal. Relax and enjoy
Had a Birthday lunch today with the wife. Lovely relaxed atmosphere staff very attentive and food was fab. I particularly enjoyed the Beer battered Fish and Chips and the wife loved the Lemon Possett Thanks Mr Aitken 👍
Brought my wife and family to lunch here and it was quite quiet during the lunch service. Decent food, however the service could have been a lot better, especially given that the restaurant wasn't full.
Very nice food, albeit a little on the expensive side. Had a steak sandwich which was perfectly cooked and tasted great. The accompanying cafe (in a different building) is also worth a visit.
Visited with a friend over lunch. Lovely food but a bit pricy compared to other places in the wharf. It wasn't crowded and we could get a table without a reservation. You could converse without the need to shout like in some venues. I have however eaten in other places in canary where I think it's better value for money for lunch. But if you don't mind paying a bit extra or need to impress someone then it's the place for you.
Have had great experiences here but in the evenings at weekends it’s super dead so sometimes you might be the only table. Food has always been great, have tried to get a table for busy weekend brunches and haven’t had space to get in so timing is massively important if you want a table and want the buzzy atmosphere. Very family friendly at the weekends. Serves some great reliable food, consistently and the service is ok.
Was pretty decent. They do good food. Not too busy. Quality of ingredients they take seriously. Service was so so. Could eat here again if I was in the area again but wouldn't necessarily come back to go here.
Spacious place, with a simple, wooden decor that is appealing to the eyes. Service is good, food is decent, drinks are good although the selection of beers/ales on the tap is limited. I would definitely recommend for afterwork drinks.
Decent and varied menu, including 'chef-y' takes on classics like Chicken Schnitzel (delicious) and burgers. Service was relatively friendly but a little uncoordinated. Both Bar and Restaurant are dog friendly!
Very family and pet-friendly restaurant, with a nice selection for a weekend brunch/lunch. Menu options are tasty and affordable for the kids. Only disappointment was the berry pancake, which was more of a teacake than a fluffy pancake. Other than that, nice play area for the kids to muck about. Mushroom risotto was great, but the signature(!) chicken burger was 3/5 at best. The staff were friendly, and the service was fast. The place looked great, but it was quite empty for a Friday evening. You might enjoy, but that's not guaranteed.
Went for an after work dinner on the set menu.. I was quite disappointed given it has Aiken’s name attached to it.. food was pretty average, nice but not wow! The steak tartare was quite vinegary, the triple cooked chips were soggy. Steak was well cooked but I wasn’t asked how i like it. Came out medium. The bread was also tasteless...
Food is standard fare. Strictly casual dining, come for food with a group of friends or family. Tasty, good choice, clean and decent environment but not somewhere you would go to for a great night out.
Casual dining without the casual price's, so it was rather a mixed bag for us, although we enjoyed the food and the service was friendly. A service charge is automatically added to the bill, which I always find both rude and presumptuous.
Went here for brunch over the weekend. It was wheelchair accessible as with most places around the Canary Wharf area. Staff were friendly and helpful when you could get their attention. Food was ok... Everything was ok. I didn't think it was exceptionally good or bad, just ok.
The restaurant is nice and staff are friendly, had to wait 40 min for food though. The 7 Hour Confit Lamb I ordered was delicious. I was a bit disappointed by the Milk Chocolate Tart. Overall a good restaurant.
Went there for Sunday brunch when it was having its soft opening 50% off offer. Wait staff were friendly and eager to help but looked a little on the inexperienced side. Ordered waffles but they didn't have it for the day. Settled for pancakes which were just average. Definitely go for the Chelsea branch instead!
Decent place for drinks, especially on happy hour and because it's away from the centre of CW. But it's quite pricey, especially if you're in the restaurant. Overall, it ticks most of the boxes of a half decent modern restaurant/bar, but just lacks soul or a reason to make a detour to visit.
Small portions big prices. The menu is quite limited. However, good quality.
Our visit last Sunday began well, a smart airy buzzy venue, lots of buggies parked and a friendly welcome. From there it started to go down hill. Slight confusion over our coffee order (asked 3 times by different staff) was no big deal but the 40 minute wait for a fried breakfast, as we saw multiple other tables seated and food arrive for them, was not great. Again, this happens and is not a big deal either, it was a chilled Sunday morning and we were in no rush but (a) the attitude of the manager utterly stank; when we enquired at minute 30 how much longer we were fobbed off with an ‘it’s coming soon’, which is wasn’t. No, ‘sorry, let me check with the kitchen’; and (b) when the food arrived several of the items were cold - my friend’s scrambled egg, my black pudding. Not the fresh breakfast you’d expect having waited 40 minutes. My friend told the manager about her egg and she took the plate away but retorting as she walked away from the table that ‘she’d just seen the egg cooked’. Just appalling. My breakfast overall was decent, cold toast and black pudding and just about warm beans aside, but for £15 you’d expect good quality ingredients. No excuse for the attitude, a shame as the rest of the staff were polite and charming and she let the team down. We entered that place in good spirits and left irritable.
Apparently quite an average place, stuff didn't offer me to choose the table, didn't ask if I would prefer drinks after the meal, didn't ask if I need a bill, food was overcooked and salty, only dryers in the restr, tips silently included in the bill. I were glad to give it, though, hope waiters will look happier next time, and this place will become as good as it was designed.
Very average food, and highly overpriced. Shakeshack burger and fries tastes better. Added 12.5% service charge and have the audacity to ask for more gratitude.
My experience here as a vegetarian would suggest if anyone veges avoid. 1. There is no much choice for veg option. This are restaurants who try sound posh by not having much choices. 2. The vegetation burger the only main option available a. The burger was under cooked for me looks like in oil early so was soaked with oil outside. b. The burger was served in two half's (half burger bun with patte and other was one lettuce leaf few pickled veg) not sure what was point. c. The serving board (like wooden kitchen cutting board ) was a joke it was very small for the burger and would fall off if not careful and being wood on a flat surface will turn around when you use knife and fork. They have concentrated more on look than comfort and practicality for the customer. d. Halfway through the meal i was not sure about smell mainly from the burger bun and i have impression they use the same grill to heat the face of the bun which they normally use for non-veg and mayonnaise was very raw for me (this could be just me). So that is where i have stop my food. It was not all bad the fries was good but i could have gone MacDonald's for that not a very expensive place like this. When i was out after the lunch i was told by my colleague that this was influence of famous|!!! TV chef and inside i thought OMG and lol.
Dreadful welcome from the staff, could barely be bothered to acknowledge us. Food was nothing special. The young waitress who had only been there a month made a big effort and if it wasn't for her we probably would have left. I would not bother going near the place again
Very disappointing and unsatisfying experience. It was a pity the food did not match the setting of the lovely restaurant and menu. Very deceiving! Everything listed including the specials looked appetizing. However, we realised once we sampled the first few bites, the flavours did not match. The clashing of the flavours was not good. Drank alot of water that evening. Definitely wasted good money on the terrible meal and will never go back again.
We are quite regulars to Tom's and had a horrible experience last Friday. We came around 05:45 pm and hardly few people were there and stood in front of a bar attender waited for almost 15 minutes but he was struggling to fill 3 pints of beer from the pipe for another customer and wandering inside and out. I asked him, Is there any problem? We are waiting here for a long time in front of you and you guys didn't even bother to say something. The bar attender with a moustache replied back saying " I didn't understand". Then we approached a lady whom she look like a manager asking we were not served as we are standing right in front for 15 -20 mins.I can't believe, she rudely replied back saying " What can we do if every one come at the same time". The staffs have no idea of how to deal with a customer. Then we decided to go out to a different place and not come to this place again. We used to dine in the restaurant before several times and it was a great experience with lovely staffs, very friendly and spot on. This place looks bit quiet after your refurbishment so you definitely need to look in to the service side of the bar where I believe you need to concentrate.
What have happened to Tom’s kitchen? Used to be quality food and good service. I had a horrible meal today at the restaurant, very SLOW service, the waitress made me feel bad for asking for anything! Expresso martini was so sweet that I asked the waitress if they have added ice cream, uncomfortable sweet. It cost £9. I ordered crisp chicken burger, with saffron bun and red cabbage slaw. Chicken over cooked, soooo dry, bun was old, like it is been all morning out. I had to add mayonnaise into to it to make it easy to eat. That cost £18! You better give me a good/tasty burger for that! Over all, wouldn’t recommend! Bad food, bad service, over price!
Very expensive for what you get. Ordered a main for £22 and was given a meal that looked the size of an entree. I had to confirm it was a main meal with the waitress. The tiny portion tasted nice but if you want a filling meal I’d recommend going elsewhere or you’ll be hungry.
Seriously bad service! Went there for brunch and service was so bad it was funny in the end. The other tables were receiving equally bad service and a couple were seated next to us only to be completely ignored and leave after about 20 minutes of waiting for some service. I suspected we were being filmed for you've been framed it was that bad. Food was OK when it eventually came but would suggest other places nearby would be much better. Even browns is better or Kruger for top value.
