Thanks very much for hosting our Christmas meal this year. The food was delicious and well priced and Chan and Kirsty did a great job at managing our large group. Much appreciated - thank you!
Our favourite local pub. Exceptional food, cracking pint of Guinness, lovely people and a cracking open fire during the colder seasons. Great service from Stephen and the team too. Thanks.
Booked a multi family session on the afternoon of New Year’s Eve. Great place, excellent food and a very child friendly pub. Highly recommended.
For its price…great place to stay. Two minute walk to the station straight into Central London or to Gatwick airport. Basic rooms but clean and air con’d. Have stayed here a couple of times and can honestly say the most comfy beds in London it has a good authentic pub vibe, worth the price.
Great local pub. Good food excellent Guinness. Steven looked after us an had fire going so we could settle into a lazy Sunday
Our favourite pub in the area. Great food and drinks, plus amazing service especially from Jaz and Kirsty!
Shan and Kirsty were great hosts and did an amazing job with our large group. A really good spot!
Had an amazing time with the family last night at the restaurant.. Restaurant/ bar was so busy but Steven, the assistant manager and the few staffs were so friendly and helpful.. Thank you again
Kirsty was very helpful and she delivered excellent customer service. I will definitely return again for a meal and some drinks.
I had a fantastic dining experience at the Tulse Hill Hotel. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious—thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. A special shout-out to David, our waiter, whose exceptional service truly elevated the evening. He was attentive, friendly, and went out of his way to ensure everything was just right. It's rare to come across someone so genuinely committed to making guests feel comfortable and cared for. Thank you, David, for making the experience memorable—I’ll definitely be back!
Exceptional service from Jasmin. Nothing too much trouble. We will be trying to poach her to work in another establishment! Start saying your goodbyes! Thanks Jasmin *****
Great place for an overnight stay. Not the Ritz but very clean, comfortable and friendly. Close to the station and safe parking. Thanks Kimberly for looking after us so well.
Really nice food, great service, Kirsty was a star and really looked after us (there was crying and laughing, must have been so confusing!!) Will come back again
Thank you so much to the staff for hosting my partner’s birthday dinner! Large groups are quite challenging and they were always there to help us and serve us delicious food. I’ve been to Tulse Hill Hotel in other occasions too, and everything I always impeccable!
We had a fabulous roast lunch with my teens and my parents. A lot of roasts I've had recently in the area have been a bit disappointing but this one at the Tulse Hill hotel was excellent. Food was great and our waiter, David, was charming and patient with teens' orders. He made it extra special, thanks all!
I went to the Tulse Hill Hotel to celebrate my husband's birthday on Sunday 20th July and I can honestly say it was one of the nicest meals out I have ever had. The food was so delicious (the cauliflower cheese is amazing!) and we were served by Kirsty who was a joy, efficient, attentive and friendly. The tables were set perfectly and the wine was great too. Would 100% recommend for a Sunday lunch which is a cut above. Can't wait to go back!
Was there for Sunday Roast. David, our waiter, convinced me to order the Ham Roast and boy was he right, it was delicious! The garden is pleasant with great music. Overall a great experience. Thank you. David!
Sunday roast was delicious and we had really warm, friendly and attentive service from our waitress Kirsty!
Our lovely waiter - Dave I think - was extremely helpful and patient with my food allergies and restrictions. He recommended the ham roast which was just superb. Great food, good ambiance, will come back again next time I’m in town.
Just had a very cosy, lovely experience here. I was served by the lovely Steven. It’s pelting down with rain outside so his warm, lovely smile was SO appreciated. I travel far and wide for good vibes, but this is just a fifteen-minute walk, so not sure why I haven't been before. So pleased to have finally visited. Highly recommend! The Vibe Guru, lol
Stayed in this cute, boutique, pub hotel and really enjoyed myself! There’s NO elevator, but the staff is super helpful 🙏🏽. Especially Stephen! He brought my 3 large bags downstairs for me and has the biggest, most genuine smile the whole time! He made the hotel stay 10X better with his kindness. I will definitely stay here again when I come to London from America!
Great 1 night stay, stylish, clean rooms with great facilities, coffee machine, comfy bed that was the perfect spot for heading onto the city for the evening. Having parking on site was a bonus when close to town. Absolutely amazing and tasty full English breakfast and coffee, that was the ideal lazy morning start, served by Marc, who was so welcoming and friendly !
Burger was absolutely delicious but star of the show was Kirsty. Lovely service, accommodating of our friends twins and all around lovely lady. Xx
Amazing Sunday roast. Great service and atmosphere. Sausage rolls and scotch eggs were amazing snacks to kick off the Sunday roast. Thanks to all the staff, back again soon.
This is my local hotel and pub and I love it! Cosy surroundings, lovely service, great food. Highly recommend!
Great service. We had 4 kids running around and were looked after brilliantly.

Great Sunday roast, but also plenty of other options for those that prefer typical pub grub. Our little one loved the fish fingers and chips! Amy was fantastic, her service was impeccable and she made the meal more enjoyable for everyone!
Outstanding service from the team. Arrived for a Sunday roast with family for a birthday - service was super efficient and quick and any items that had sold out were made apparent from the offset with alternatives available. Jasmine was especially amazing at looking after us, considering we were such a big group! Drinks arrived swiftly and the mains all came out together - which can be rare these days with a busy kitchen. Jasmine made sure we were updated with when our food was arriving and kept us stocked up with drinks in the meantime - the rhubarb gin fizz was my favourite.. The pork roast was amazing, so tender & the crackling was sooo crackly! Overall great experience and service from Jasmine and the rest of the team.
As our local pub, we love coming here for drinks and food. They also do a top roast! Always great service - we just had a delicious dinner and Kirsty and Yann were lovely. Thank you and we will be back soon!
Came here for the roast which was fantastic and Kirsty who served us was a ray of sunshine!
Was there celebrating my birthday last Wednesday with my friends, Gabriel is a star, recommend us few dishes and alcohol free drinks, they also have Wings Wednesday which is super affordable to eat in a budget!! 100% Recommended
My family from the US stayed here for 2 weeks whilst visiting my husband and I. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating, moving my parents to another room when their initial room needed a repair. All the food is delicious, we enjoyed everything we ordered, often in the lovely garden in the back. Special shout-out to Georgia, who does the breakfast service single-handed, with great cheer and patience- she went above and beyond, even acting as a witness for me and my husband for a last urgent document to close on our flat purchase!
Really cozy place! The place itself is really nice, with front and back gardens to eat or to have a drink. The rooms and the hotel service are impeccable. The room was always all set and clean everyday at our return. The location is also very good! You can have both the trains at Tulse Hill train station and the buses that can get you at Brixton underground station in less than 10 mins. Overall speaking the place is very good, perhaps the food doesn’t not match the goodness I found in the place itself, the drinks and the hotel services. It should be improved.
We booked a buffet lunch for my daughter's 30th birthday party yesterday and were delighted with the lovely space we were given - the tables were thoughtfully laid out to allow us to mingle, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating, and completely attentive throughout. The food was delicious - we ordered a mixture of boards, and everyone commented on how tasty it all was. We progressed later on to the bar which had a vibrant lively vibe - my daughter really enjoyed her special day, and the event was extremely good value. We would definitely recommend this as a party venue, and judging by the quality of the food, as a great place to eat out. Many thanks to the Tulse Hill Hotel staff for your hospitality !
Good food as always and nice place. Great service from Kirsty as well!
went last sunday for a quick roast and David recomended the ham. he was right, it was delicious! great food, great service by David and the cherry on the cake was lady gaga playing for my entire visit. thank you Tulse hill hotel!
Brilliant service from Kirsty, thanks so much for being so welcoming. Great food and atmosphere
was there last weekend for drinks and some appetisers, everything was perfect, the outside garden is gorgeous and has a great vibe. our waiter David was amazing, very friendly and accommodating! Thank you!
Lovely lunch with my family. Kirsty served us very well.
Excellent food, service good but few serving staff the day we were there, although the staff were very friendly and amenable to food options. Allergy listing of menu items invaluable. Parking very useful and free to users of the restaurant but registering your vehicle reg is a must. Would definitely go there again.
Good food, good choice on the menu, friendly staff
I personally found this place to be overpriced, with mediocre service overall. Some of the drinks prices in the menu are not up to date, which isn’t helpful. The side for my main course came out cold and had to be sent back. When I say cold, it was stone cold in the middle. When it came back, the rest of the meal had gone cold. Small portion sizes for what you pay, particularly the soup starter. Overall, not an enjoyable or worthwhile experience. Perhaps it was an off day, judging by the other reviews. Unfortunately, a first impression is a lasting impression.
The good: the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The food we tried, snacks and starters, was delicious. The bad: the room felt like it was halfway through a maintenance job - both shelves were missing from the bathroom, empty fixings still attached to the walls. The missing shelves were spootted stored under the sink, still dirty. The housekeeping was somewhat lacking with marks on the bathroom floor and the vent on the aircon was incredibly dusty. Taps and shower head were all marked and in need of a deep clean. Would definitely come back for drinks and dinner but would be cautious about staying again.
The Sunday roasts have gone downhill. Came here a year ago and before that a couple of times and they were way better. Perhaps a change of staff or management? Either way the roasts are still on the pricey side, the difference is now the quality has dropped. Can't speak for the hotel but the Sunday roast is an avoid for now from now until it's fixed.
This is a lovely spot with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, stylish decor, and a great selection of food and drinks. The staff were friendly, and the ambience had a charming, relaxed vibe. However, my visit was affected by the number of dogs inside, which was problematic due to my allergies. While I appreciate that many people enjoy the dogfriendly aspect, it would be great if there were designated areas for guests with allergies or those who prefer a pet free environment. It's a nice place overall, but it's worth keeping in mind if you have similar sensitivities.
I enjoyed my experience of the Tulse Hill Tavern the bar staff are very friendly. The problem I had with it was the manageress was rude and even though it is dog friendly. The pub dog is disgusting it messes on the carpet when people are eating and drinking.
I’m genuinely unsure how this property holds a 4-star rating. It barely meets the standard of a 2-star hotel. In reality, it feels much more like a motel than an actual hotel. The building is noticeably old, and the photos displayed online are misleading. The rooms and facilities look nothing like the heavily enhanced images shown on the booking sites. For the price point, the experience is disappointing, and the rates should be way lower to match the actual standard of the property. To be fair, the location is convenient, with easy access to bus stops and the train station. However, the facility itself does not meet hotel standards, let alone those of a 4-star establishment. Additionally, the breakfast is not a buffet or spread as one might expect, it is prepared only upon request. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel based on experience unless you’re on a budget and just need somewhere to rest.
**UPDATE RESPONSE TO IDIOTIC REPLY FROM MANAGER: Firstly, I’m not sure why you’re speaking to me as though you know me—I’ve never met you in my life or spoken to you. What’s even more shocking is your blatant dishonesty. Contrary to what you claimed, it is possible to block iPhones from other devices. As I spoke with the young woman, she does not live in the area, nor is she a patient in a mental health institution. She was, in fact, assaulted by three women and had her phone stolen. The police have arrested one of the attackers. It's clear you wouldn’t know this, as you dismissed her almost immediately—as if she were beneath you. Even if you didn’t trust her with your phone, you could have simply contacted the police on her behalf. Thankfully, a bystander witnessed the assault and had already alerted the police. She now has a police statement and a crime reference number. It’s deeply concerning that you chose to lie so blatantly. That alone speaks volumes about your lack of empathy. The police are aware that she sought help at the hotel first. It's appalling that someone in a managerial position could respond with such indifference and hostility. I hope witnesses from today see your response. At the end of the day, a woman came to you with a black eye and blood on her, and you did absolutely nothing. That is inexcusable. REVIEW:This morning around 9:30am, a young woman came into this hotel dining area visibly distressed, asking to use the phone to call the police. She had just been assaulted and had her phone stolen. The manager told her to leave. This is an absolute disgrace. Turning away someone in clear distress — a victim of a crime, asking for help — is not only heartless, it's deeply irresponsible. Manager should hang her head in shame!!!
Guy at the bar was rude upon arriving, staff where very slow clearing the table even though asked multiple times, was going to give grace by not writing the review at this point but then in the end my food didn’t even turn up. So would be a 0 star review if I could.
The Hotel was nothing like it appeared online and very misleading as I booked and paid online. My booking included breakfast and on the last day of checkout , there was no service rep to take my breakfast order or check me out, I had to drop the key at the door. I barely slept in the rooms.
Genuinely Lovely staff. Sunday roast was really bad, sorry. Ordered the lamb, took almost an hour to arrive and to be fair they did apologise. It was at most a child's portion and cost 23 quid. I was given a huge amount of store-bought mint sauce and a very small amount of actual food. If you're going to give people tiny portions you also have to make it good so you can justify ripping people off. Yorkshire pudding absolutely tiny as well- please put it into a pre-heated dish before the oven so it rises properly and doesn't look like a roast chestnut when you serve it. Potatoes- you can google how to do these properly! They were really anemic and frankly lazy. Lamb was cooked, can't give more praise than that. Gravy blah. If my friends or parents came round and I served them that *for free* I'd be embarrassed.
The worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. It tasted like it had been fried days ago and then reheated in a microwave. The batter was rubbery and soggy instead of crispy. Completely inedible. Very disappointing and a total waste of money.
Extremely rude staff! Food and drinks are ridiculously overpriced! Ordered kids fish and chips for our 2 year old and it came out covered with massive helpings of salt! It’s for a child!! Why pour salt all over it??? Waiting for drinks at the bar lady blanked me for 10 minutes choosing to serve other people who just came to the counter. When I pointed out that I have been waiting and should have been next she just shrugged and continued serving. Camembert started is £17!! £17! Comes with rock hard bread. Never again! My brother and he’s wife live down the road from this pub and they said they stopped going here since last year due to the shocking customer service also
