We were invited to try this restaurant and had a wonderful experience! We enjoyed the food, the venue, and the service. Everything went really well, we were lucky enough to get a parking space right outside. Venue: the set up is hip, comfortable and casual with nice opened patio wall and upbeat music playing in the background. Thai iced tea and chicken wings were particularly tasty and enjoyable. The Thai Garlic Tofu was delicious. Steamed tofu was so tender, and garlic sauce was heavenly. The Pad Thai was as expected with very good portions, the sauce was slightly on sweet side but still wonderful. The only thing we were not able to enjoy as much was the soup, we ordered the clear type which was very tasty but too sour for my stomach, I was reminded to always order the coconut milk version of the soup in the future. Service was friendly, warm, prompt, and helpful. Highly recommended!
Finally tried The Second Owl last night. And I was NOT disappointed! The wait staff was very friendly and helpful with the menu and the food was delicious. Cool vibe, a great addition to the area. Fresh, tasty and authentic. You will end up paying more, but it's absolutely worth it. The care and time spent on the quality of their dishes is evident. I can't wait to go back and try other dishes. Pork Belly - Crispy edges, super moist and fatty. Chicken Wings - Crispy and well seasoned. Pad See Ew - Firm and Bouncy flat noodles.
Great Food, Great Service, the Thai Tea was Perfect, smooth, creamy and the Owl Fried Rice was amazing. The Pad Thai with Shrimp was really good. The Fried Pork Belly was delicious as well. Overall this place competes very well against other local places in terms of flavor and quality. We definitely will be back, no doubt about that. 100% Recommend you try if you have not yet.
Incredible Thai food! The staff are so friendly and the owners were actually sitting and chatting with some other locals during their dinner. Very friendly atmosphere. We live close by and hadn’t had a chance to check out the restaurant yet, but will definitely be back! I got the short rib massaman (to die for) and my husband got the the Belmont. We ended the night with wonderful mango sticky rice ☺️
5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Owl Thai Kitchen blew me away! The flavors in every bite are rich, fresh, and feel truly authentic, like a little trip to Thailand. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and the care in preparation shines through. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service is friendly and attentive — they really make you feel welcome. Highly recommend this hidden gem!
This place is delicious, with really really good portions… service was perfect, my water cup was never empty!!! I stuck to what I know and got the pad Thai, my wife got the shrimp fried rice … both were super fresh and flavorful. If you like a very sweet tea the butterfly Tea is incredible, also the Thai tea… both are refreshing. I live near by so maybe on my next visit I’ll try something new, but then again that’s what I always say 😜
First time visiting with a party of 11. The food was amazing. We tried it all! Friendly and stellar service! This is definitely our go to place when visiting Long Beach. Can’t wait to visit again!!!
Great Lunch Experience! We went here for lunch and overall had a really good experience. There isn’t a huge difference in price between the lunch special and a regular meal, except that the lunch special includes an added soup or salad. We tried the Tom Yum and Tom Kha soups and both were absolutely delicious! I ordered the Pad Thai and it was actually very good — I finished the whole thing, which I rarely do when eating out. For dessert, we had the mango sticky rice. The mangoes were fresh and tasty, but I didn’t love the rice as much because I prefer sweeter desserts. However, my fiancé really enjoyed it and said it wasn’t too sweet, which was a plus for him. We went around 1 PM on a Tuesday, and it wasn’t very crowded. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I’d definitely come back!
We’ve heard great things about this place because many have been to the other location in signal hill. It did not disappoint and the food was delicious. People need to realize it’s “street food” meaning the things we would eat in that country as fast, easy, common foods but also limited. So it doesn’t have the full array of choices like a traditional Thai restaurant but it has the basics like Pai Thai and Tom yum soup.
10/10 Must come here!! The service was fantastic. Super clean and good music (feels like a wine bar). Good prices. The food was insanely good - the pad Thai was seriously amazing (get mild), Tom Yum soup was fresh and they put it on fire in front of you (super fun), Thai tea comes with a flower and is super balanced, and lastly the Thai beer was fresh and came in a cold glass. Get here before it gets too trendy!! Will come back. P.s. for bdays they allow you to choose a song to play through out the restaurant from a pre-selected list and it further cements their excellent music taste ( you’ll have to see for yourself) in addition they also serve ice cream on the house for bdays.
Food was fantastic, are server was so sweet and nice (shoutout to Sharon) all the sauces were amazing and the flavor of the soups was great.
We stumbled into it but we were quite happy with the food and services. We had their fried rice, green curry and pad Thai. ⭐️❤️😎🙏
So yummy and very good flavors. Great service, Nathan was very helpful
Place is amazing from the atmosphere to the food can’t get any better than that. The service is great very helpful and knowledgeable about food and what to order. Great Sak and wine selection perfect for a date night

Food was amazing and a bit different than other Thai food I’ve had. Highly recommended giving it a try. Service was a bit slower than I expected
I had an amazing dinner here with my boyfriend. The food was delicious and the flavors were perfect. I loved the sticky mango rice dessert. All of the dishes complimented each other and the waitress gave us wonderful recommendations. The waitress was very sweet and attentive. The restaurant was cozy and had comfortable seating but I wish they put music on. We went on a Tuesday so it was a little empty. We will be returning! :)
Staff was so extremely nice. And holy cow. The food was genuinely amazing. I 1000% recommend trying their soups. Absolutely authentic, deep, and clean flavor.
All Five stars for this new, to the Shore, restaurant. Cozy, well designed, perfect ambiance. Attentive, friendly staff, generous portions. The Pad Thai is the best I've ever eaten. I wish them resounding success.

A Yelp Elite event brought me to this cool little boutique restaurant. It has a simple, industrial style decor, with a few large garage style doors that open up and make the space feel bigger and more open. The staff and service were good everyone was nice and friendly. We did not have a reservation and waited no more than five minutes to be seated (around 630p on a Saturday), but it quickly filled after we arrived. It seats only about 50 diners. Food, we ordered a fresh green salad, chicken wings and duck egg rolls fir appetizers, snd Owl Fried Rice, and crab with Thai chili and basil as shareable entrees. I had a beer with my meal, and my wife had the sangria. The kitchen flow/timing was a bit off. After our order was taken, we waited about 15 - 20 minutes before the first appetizer came out. As we worked through the appetizers, the Owl Fried Rice arrived. About halfway through the rice, I realized I never got my beer and had to ask for it (I think it was forgotten). We were nearly done with the rice and still hadn’t received the crab dish, so I asked the waitress about it. She looked surprised and said she’d check on it. About 5–10 minutes later, the crab dish finally came out. My wife's second sangria was comped due to this error. Let's talk about the food: Green salad – Good and fresh. Did exactly what a salad should do. Wings – Excellent. Well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Three wings - portion was smaller than typical, as this was part of the Yelp comp. A normal app is 5 wings. Duck egg rolls – Great flavor, but the wrapper was a little thick and dense. Owl Fried Rice – Really good overall. The curry flavor comes through strong in a good way. My only issue was that there was just one shrimp in the whole dish. Maybe go lighter on the pineapple and add more shrimp. Crab with Thai chili and basil – Excellent. The flavors and preparation were on point. Despite the delays, this was still a pleasant experience. I’ll definitely return and would recommend checking this place out. If the weather’s nice, I suggest grabbing a patio seat (there are only nine).
Food was really good and service was excellent. They even suggested a better table. Parking is tough but public transportation is good and it’s walkable. There’s a parking lot two blocks away. The Fabuloso smell bothers my stomach but at least you know it’s clean. Met my realtor here for lunch

I'm Thai and Lao and very confused by the reviews. The service was okay, but the food was severely lacking. My guest and I were excited about this place based on the reviews & to finally have a Thai restaurant walking distance from my house. The demographic in Belmont Shore is mostly not Thai, so I shouldve known better. Unfortunately, the pad see ew was soggy, it was not fried, & the sauce was horrible. overall not authentic, we didnt eat it, & didnt take it to go. If you're southeast asian, you know pad see ew is very easy to make. Everything with fish was pretty good. The appetizers were decent, but we were left disappointed after spending almost $100 here for 2. For that price, I expected the food to be flavorful & the service to be amazing, but if I have to ask for utensils, water, basic things, i can't rate it over 3 stars for service. I'd recommend Long Beach Thai thats a few streets over; the food is cheaper & tastier, the portions are bigger, the service is okay. I read reviews comparing this to Owl Owl on Signal Hill and that restaurant is also beyond better than this one.
