Great new addition to the neighborhood! Super spacious and airy, lots of seats and a cute lil section in the back for kids. Coffee and baked goods are on point. Can’t wait to be back!
Super high quality coffee. Cortado's are on point.
The banana chocolate scone was YUMMY! All the pastries looked delicious. Really good coffee too!
Cute cafe in LIC, great service
Good quality coffee and very kind and friendly baristas. I love coming back!
I loved my time here. The coffee game is strong, but the real win was the staff and the environment, I found my new go to spot.
Bright and sunny coffee shop with large windows allowing so much natural light in. The decor was modern, clean, and beautiful. There is a thoughtfully decorated kids play area and ample seating with tables to do remote work. I had an excellent cup of latte! Delicious!
Came here on a Sunday morning with my three kids. such a nice play area and they have gluten-free treats for my celiac daughter!!! The coffee is delicious. The staff was amazingly sweet.
The coffee was really great, and the service even better. I would definitely recommend this place!!
Absolutely love this café—great vibe, beautiful space, and super friendly staff. My only wish is for the barista to pour the espresso over ice water instead of pre-mixing it and then pouring it over ice. Pouring the espresso over a glass of ice water directly helps preserve the espresso’s flavor and crema. When you pre-mix the espresso with water and then pour it over ice, the espresso can become more diluted and lose some of its aromatic intensity. Overall, a fantastic place with just a small tweak needed!
Great place to have coffee in a cozy space. Play area for kids is fantastic
This was our first visit to Overflow Coffee but it won’t be our last. As soon as they saw us trying to get our granddaughter’s rather large stroller through the front door they came out from behind the counter to help. Once we were in, we found the food, beverages and service to be excellent. This place is a great addition to the Vernon Boulevard area!
Overflow Coffee was a pleasant surprise and a great addition to the LIC coffee scene, particularly around Vernon where there haven't been many choices. I'm very picky when it comes to coffee shops I like, and I was pleased to find that Overflow had the exact combination I love -- fantastic space, fantastic vibes from the staff and mix of patrons, and most importantly -- fantastic coffee (I learned from one of the owners that his business partner previously managed one of the high-end coffee shops in Manhattan). My latte was perfect, and I'll definitely be a regular here!
Having tried all the coffee spots in the area, this is hands down the best one. Tastiest espresso and matcha!
Finally, a nice local coffee shop in Long Island City. Simple, clean decor inside, reasonable prices, coffee was delicious, will be back! They have plenty of baked goods with some vegan options, but didn’t get a chance to try.
I just visited this amazing coffee experience and I’m extremely impressed. Not only was the espresso delicious, everyone working said “hello”, got my order right, and managed a busy moment with ease. They’re a team. I’ll be back
So excited about this new coffee shop! I had a matcha and a chai so far, and loved them both. The interior is so cozy and bright, and the staff is super welcoming.
Fantastic neighborhood stop with delicious food and drinks! Everything is good. Plenty of space to grab a table with a friend or to work, with a special spot for littles to play! I will definitely be back :)
Popped in for a latte while waiting for a friend. Excellent latte and the feel of the shop was great. Definitely a solid place to hang out for a bit.
My favorite cortado in the city. And I say this as a self proclaimed coffee snob!! Wonderful ambiance and space to sit as well
I had my first pumpkin spice latte of the season here and it was so good!! Warm, pumpkin-y and not too sweet
Neighborhood gem! They have such a cute setup. The coffee is great. Each time I’ve been in here the staff is so nice!
A great little find with a relaxing atmosphere, friendly service, and a latte that’s easily the best in the area.
This is a great neighbourhood coffee shop! The coffee is excellent and the team working was lovely. Super quick service, the shop was pretty busy with a consistent flow of customers and all the drinks were coming out really quickly. Lots of seating if you want to stay and have a drink, really bright and inviting space. Nice for a quick coffee to go or to stay and relax for a bit. I'll definitely be back for coffee and pastries again soon!
I love going to Overflow to get work done. The environment is clean, they have complementary water, and most of the staff is welcoming. I always get a hot chai, and I love it with oatmilk.
A wonderful community café, for us it's the best as we have a young daughter she can play in the kids area while Daddy drinks his coffee!!!
Brought my daughter for a coffee date after hearing there’s a children’s play area. We had a wonderful time. My daughter loved all the books they had in the little library. I’m a decaf drinker and we often get the short end of the stick when it comes to coffee quality. But Overflow’s decaf beans were top notch. Really enjoyed my flat white. Would love to come by when the weather is warmer so I can pick up drinks and explore the waterfront area with my kiddos.
Great and cozy spot to work remote, and they have a small play area for children which is quite nice. Only thing: it’s sometimes very hard to get a seat, if you need to camp out with a laptop. If you run out of space I highly recommend going to Zaruma just a block away on 46 road and 11th street. The pastries are ok—skip the croissants as they’re a bit soft, but the peanut butter cookie and olive loaf is very good.
5 stars is not enough!! This is the best coffee house in LIC. Very friendly staff, who are hyper-focused not only on their craft, but also your experience overall. I've been coming SEVERAL times per-week, its that good...Please take this as a heart-felt recommendation. You will love it.
Stopped in during NYC marathon. For a soft launch these guys killed it…super super busy but they held it down. I think I saw 9 cups to be made and my simple double espresso was quick! The pastries tasted delightful. I’m sure on any given day this place is a gem. Unfortunate they didn’t have the room Open to public for Marathon day but still so good - coffee was great-
We LOVED this place. My parents and I walked around the area and looked for a place to sit down and warm up. This is the perfect coffeeshop! There's ample space to work, they have a kids' corner, and the pastries are delicious. On top of that, staff is friendly, it's relaxed, and of course the coffee was good. Would definitely come back!
The two times I came in for coffee because I had to repair my bike from up the block; this place provided a warm welcome. The staff here are very warm and fun. Positive too. The coffee was also good! The Americano was good, as well as their seasonal drinks like the spicy pear cappuccino, that go well for this weather. Funny enough, John, from the bike shop, recommended this place! That's how you know the community helps each other out. All and all, definitely a place to check out!
Every drink she makes… it’s so good! If you want a Latte that can make you feel happy in every way, this is the spot. Time for a Latte😍 L – Love Let love lead. A – Awaken Awaken your spirit each morning. T – Trust Trust God’s timing. T – Treasure Treasure every moment. E – Embrace Embrace both the sweetness and the bitterness God bless you all❤️
Lovely neighborhood coffee spot. It felt like a communal gathering spot for folks from all walks of life (e.g. parents and kids, runners, students, remote workers, etc). Loved that there was a small play area in the back for children. There is reliable wifi and a restroom. Friendly staff.
Great vibes and excellent coffee. They maintain a consistently high bar. We are lucky to have this ship in our neighborhood.
Good coffee, kind service, really good pastries- definitely get the peanut butter cookie or Parmesan Thyme scone! If you’re a coffee snob, the manager here is a coffee expert—milk is steamed perfectly every time and espresso is just as tasty as their drip! Hung out and did work here on my computer for a while and felt very welcome. They even have a cozy area with comfy chairs. So glad the neighborhood has a spot like this!
I love this coffee shop. I am a black drip only guy and this place SLAPS! I buy their retail beans because it’s that good! The people who work are also all so kind.
Really amazing staff, delicious matcha lattes (especially their summer menu options). Really clean and cozy feeling with the small kids play area in the back. A nice place to work from if you can grab a seat.
Overflow coffee shop is such a cute, warm, and comfy place to be. I love the good vibes and aesthetics. There’s even a little spot for children to sit and play in. The staff is so kind. They also offer quality coffee, matcha, and little yummy snackies. You gotta experience it for yourself.
This is such a wonderful neighborhood spot. The coffee is delicious. Plus, The play area for toddlers/kids is such a bonus while not being disruptive to the rest of the patrons. I love this spot.
Overflow Coffee is a delightful spot that I recently had the pleasure of visiting after a run. What immediately struck me was how refreshingly uncomplicated their menu is – making it easy to choose exactly what you're in the mood for without any overwhelming options. They also have a tempting selection of pastries, reasonably priced between $3.50 and $5. The coffee itself is also priced just right, offering good value for a quality brew. I opted for a hot latte, which was satisfying and hit the spot. To accompany it, I chose a delicious blueberry scone. Both were perfect after a bit of exercise. Beyond the offerings, the ambiance of Overflow Coffee is truly lovely. It's a quiet space with a very appealing aesthetic, making it a relaxing environment to unwind. I found myself quite comfortable there and can definitely see myself hanging out at Overflow Coffee in the future. It's a great addition to the neighborhood!
Cute modern coffee spot in LIC. Ordered a cold brew and it was delicious. Bunch of people were there working so if you want a table to sit and enjoy your coffee/pastry, probably would be hard to get an available table. The staff were nice and friendly.
Found my neighborhood cafe!! What a Gem 💎 This newly opened cafe has ample seating (couch etc for those wanting more comfy seating) bright crisp atmosphere, with a dash of rustic charm. Entering, it’s bright and airy, inviting with warm tones. The staff here are warm and friendly, just what you’d want from a neighborhood staple. Tried the ham and cheese croissant, yum! And cardamom pastry, both very good! I’m so glad they carried “ham and cheese croissant” as those are hard to come by at cafes. Cardamom pastry is sprinkled with sugar but not overly sweet. Would prefer no sugar sprinkles but that’s just my personal preference, nothing on quality and taste of their bun. Must try! Oat latte was good! Served in beautiful chic cup and saucer (love the experience with traditional drink wares) it just elevates the cafe experience in my opinion. Latte art was pretty good too (also elevates coffee experience). Their theme is based around community, donating parts of proceeds to local community. The price was also very reasonable; no $9 pastry hype. For 2 pastry and a latte, I Paid $16. Overall this will be my goto coffee spot in LIC.
LOVE Overflow, I was in town for 3 days and I went to Overflow every morning (per my friends’ recommendation) while I was there and tried something different each time. I was never disappointed, always delighted. I tried 2 items from their seasonal menu—iced lychee matcha and iced banana milk flat white, both incredible, especially the banana milk, I vote that should be a regular on the menu, I would come from CT to drink that again. I also tried their iced vanilla latte and it was superb. They do just the right amount of sweetness in all their drinks, not too much, not too little. I also got 3 different food items, cardamom twist, chocolate chip cookie, and ham & cheese croissant. Still having dreams about all of them. Take them home and heat them up just a little bit and enjoy with your coffees. Thank me later 😉 I also love the space, I was considering staying to do some homework but I didn’t have the time this visit. They made the seating area very inviting. All around 5 ⭐️! Will be back when I’m in LIC again in a couple weeks!
The best coffee shop in town. Top tier quality coffee & pastries, the owner / entire staff goes above & beyond, and the vibes are always on point. I’d give it more stars if I could. Overflow for the win!
Honestly, I was a little unsure of whether or not I needed a new coffee spot in the neighborhood. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of coffee here (I enjoyed a flat white, my go-to order to judge a coffee shop) and the quality of chai/matcha/hojicha for my non-coffee drinking friends. Also, as someone who is gluten free I really appreciate that they have some GF baked goods (peanut butter cookie & jam bar, I had to try both of course!). Overall I was impressed by the quality drinks, welcoming atmosphere, and space for seating to meet up with friends or work remotely. This is a great addition to LIC!
Drinks were delicious and perfect sweetness. I am not a fan of the fruit and matcha combo but their seasonal lunar new year Lychee Matcha was pleasant. I like that they have a space for children
One of my favorite coffee shops in the neighborhood. Love their hot mocha!
The two women working welcomed us in with authenticity. The shop was busy for a Friday afternoon (yay!) but even so, we were able to find 2 seats. Great vibes. Smooth coffee. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood. Will be back.
Vernon needed another coffee shop and this is such a great addition. I’ve tried their mocha and their vanilla latte - both were a good balance of sweet and strong. And this is a great use of the space. Glad to see they’re busy!
What a cute spot! Coffee was delicious but the atmosphere is here is amazing. There’s plenty of seating but it does seem busy and full. What’s adorable is the children’s area off to the side for the little ones.

Relatively new coffee shop, opened up in Oct 2024 the guy there told me. Very nice atmosphere and great coffee! Will definitely return.
One of my favorite coffee shops in the neighborhood. Love their hot mocha!
The matcha here is amazing!!! and that's coming from a matcha snob. Really good quality matcha and really beautifully steamed oat milk! :0) seems like a good place to get work done, I don't see many outlets, tho there is a bathroom!
overflowcoffee is a perfect spot to get some work done. this place is spacious and has everything you need to wfh. i tried matcha latte ($6) 🍵 and it did not disappoint. they whisked it on the spot (not from a huge pre-made batch👌🏻which i have seen a lot these days). they have wifi, many seats (with a few outlets), restroom, and great coffee / pastry menu. you can choose a seat by the window, couch, or proper table. there is ample natural light here. located near the east river, you can walk a couple blocks and wind down after work 🤍
I love Overflow! The service is always good, the coffee is good quality, and the environment is somehow wonderful for both getting work done or sitting to chat with a friend. I come often to work on my laptop and there is a variety of seating; small tables for 1 or 2, benches and small countertops, a sofa and some comfy chairs with the space broken up well for slightly larger groups or individuals to sit. Not to mention the adorable play space for children which is welcoming and cozy but still doesn't seem to attract noisiness. They play great music which, for my taste, isn't too loud or distracting.

So excited to have a nice and bright coffee place in our LIC, and can't wait to try Tomorrow morning just wondering why it's empty and there are no enough tables and chairs?
Always good to see another cafe open up in New York City. I was able to go today, I ordered a Flatwhite to stay. Nice cafe, nice interior with a bathroom. Menu was simple. Espresso tasted a bit over-extracted but I will go again and see if the spro is better. Pretty good cafe, would recommend to anyone who wants a decently priced cup of coffee.
3.5/5. The neighborhood certainly needs more quality coffee options; however, this place fell short of expectations. The coffee did not have a premium taste, especially given the price. The interior felt generic, lacking a distinct identity.
Great coffeeshop for socializing and doing independent work. Ordered 2 dirty chai lattes during my time there. The lattes were delicious and I loved the art that the baristas did on them, but they were slightly overpriced. Still, I would definitely come back here for the ambiance and coffee.
It’s a very nice little coffee shop that has most of the elements one would expect. Plentiful seating, some pastries, and a lot of coffee options with one HUGE caveat in terms of syrups or flavors for their lattes they only offer vanilla, mocha, and maple which is great but I feel they left out some popular options like caramel and hazelnut. Staff mentioned they may get these flavors in the future but it’s been a few months since they opened and nothing has happened yet.
The iced latte with oat milk was decent but nothing exceptional. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again, as I still prefer Concept Coffee. I might try a hot drink next time (ps. I did try their cappuccino that was very good and i prefer that over latte. Eventhough I am more of a ice drink person), but I wasn’t thrilled that everything was served in disposable cups, even with the latte art. The ambiance is modern and clean, though the layout isn’t ideal. The tables are quite close together, likely due to limited space, but a cozier setup would have been more inviting. Overall, it feels like one of those places that might be overhyped because of its trendy appearance. People may associate its stylish design with great coffee. As one of the few cafés in Vernon, it’s likely to do well regardless. On the bright side, the staff seemed chill and friendly, which is always a plus.
Nice cafe in the area. Drinks are decent with seasonal menu sometimes. Chill with family vibes since there’s a kid zone inside! Lattes were creamy and classic.
This local coffee shop is pretty decent, a place to go for the atmosphere and when you need a cup of coffee around the local community. It’s clean and neat, a welcoming entering. The coconut matcha latte was good, not too much milk (I have had excellent ones before so this one not much of my like but different for everyone taste bud). A kid friendly place for children to play and entertain, a small set up play area for children 5 and under. The banana bread is good and moist.
My review is primarily based on their matcha. From my understanding, high quality matcha should have a natural sweetness with a hint of bitterness that complements, rather than overpowers, the sweetness. The matcha I tried was unbalanced and overly bitter. I love grassy notes in matcha, but they should enhance the flavor, not make it bitter. The coffee shop itself is nice, and I'd return to try their latte next time.
This is a great place for coffee and a pastry in the morning. I love that this location is so close to where I’m staying in Long Island city. Very friendly staff and a surprisingly good amount of seating for a small place. I look forward to visiting the spot again in the future.

The coffee and baked goods here are unmatched! That said, I find a lot of the parents who bring their kids are pretty disrespectful- most recently, one of the kids ran up to where I was sitting and repeatedly tried to slap my laptop off my lap. I love that theres a place in the neighborhood for parents and kids - but the parents need to be accountable for misbehavior. Its my only knock on this place!
Had matcha and hojicha lattes a few times. Always greeted with a friendly smile. However I came in Thursday for a drip coffee and got a cold demeanor from the barista. Not sure if she was having an off day but when I asked her for half and half she just put it on the counter when I said thank you she didn’t even respond. The container was new so I had to open it up too (nbd) but after I used it I said thanks again and still she didn’t answer or acknowledge. Very strange !! Since she was smiling and being nice to everyone else there (all the tables were packed). I just didn’t feel welcome that day, I definitely think they could work on customer service.
Got a drink, a pastry, and stayed for a little bit. Drink was fine but nothing special. Pastry was bad (felt cold, wasn’t properly flaky, basically like it was bought at a grocery store) Wound up using the bathroom after an employee and this is what got me- he was in there for a while but when I went in there was only 2 sheets on the toilet paper roll and it was left to me to change the roll. If you work there and use the bathroom and use all the toilet paper, how can you think it’s ok to not replace the roll if it’s empty?
The latter I bought was fine. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have a lot of parties to choose from since they had photos of a chocolate croissant on Google and on their menu. I went in at around 11AM on a Thursday and they had about 4 things of parties left.
New week, same thing. All tables full with people with laptops that don’t move for hours. Instead of enjoying a good coffee in a nice cafe you are only able to do takeaway. That’s really sad.
The yuzu espresso sparkling drink in their summer special drink special was not good at all, intolerably weird mixture use of yuzu and espresso shot…
Extreme sour decaf americano, would not recommend. Atmosphere of cafe seemed nice though.
It is very rare to find hair inside coffee but you will experience here. And they offered “free” coffee. What? I already paid for the coffee!!
I didn’t enjoy the coffee. I got an espresso and It tasted burnt and overly bitter, also I could feel the coffee grounds in my drink. The staff was friendly.
The most disrespectful coffee shop I've been to in nyc. The barista just poured the milk in the latte as fast as he possibly could, ruining the latte. The espresso is so watery, it's undrinkable. This is a 0/10. Just disgusting. I hope they go out of business. They either have no idea what they are doing or hate their customers.
