We had multiple family dinners while staying in Saratoga. This place is somewhat hidden between other restaurants, but definitely worth coming. Great pasta and pizza. Amazing service and everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
Came here on Sunday afternoon by word of mouth. We did not know this restaurant existed until then. We're are glad that we were told about it. Upon entering Florentine Trattoria, we were greeted and seated. Drinks and food orders taken soon after. Appetizers Bread: hot, soft, fantastic Crab cakes: great flavor Stuffed Portobello Mushroom: cheesey and saucy, great flavor Main course Lasagna: would have liked a bigger portion but sauce and overall flavor was great Half & Half: sauce needed a little bit of salt, but the veal ravioli flavor was great Tagliatelle Bolognese: nice portion size and good flavor Linguine Portofino: each bite was enjoyable, flavor was on point Definitely a place to visit again, especially early on when they just open because it wasn't busy and it was quiet.
AMAZING FRESHLY OUT OF THE OVEN BREAD! I could just go there to have all of it. We ordered their vegetarian pasta soup - amazing, the large veg pizza and we had some edits to make to it which they made it to the order. We asked for their garlic bread twice! The seating was nice, not much crowded and the service was super quick and nice. Also try their pina colada.. had some quirky taste to it - in a good way. It gets a little pricey if you start enjoying and ordering everything but still worth the money. A great find in the Saratoga village. It is also clean and sanitized with all servers wearing masks at all times. The diners were also complying with the covid rules which felt safe while sitting there.
Great little neighborhood restaurant. Tucked in the back off the main highway. The pastas are all fantastic. Great Ceaser Salad. Good Chicken Marsala. Had the crab cakes -- which were nice but would have preferred if they had been pan fried and not deep. Good service and friendly

The food was GOADED and the soup was REALLY excellent. If u eat outside, there r plants and it looks nice. This is a kinda good Italian restaurant.
Nice menu, cioppino an 8 in a 10 point scale, so quite good. Good service. Must call to make reservations.
Been dining with Florentine's for years and have never had a bad meal. Everything is always delicious and they are very accommodating to certain requests. (a family member is not a fan of tortellini and they kindly swap for linguine when requested) Extremely grateful for the delicious flavors and outstanding service.....and oh, as mentioned by many, their bread is the BEST!!!
This little gem lives up to its name with a homey welcoming atmosphere, good service, and classic Italian food. It's not fancy, but it's quite comfortable and the food we had last Sunday night was quite good.

Stopped by this place for lunch enroute to castle rock state park. This is cute Italian restaurant that has indoor and outdoor seating. Their warm bread with spiced butter was irresistible. Started with the prawns sorrento ;prawns in lemon butter sauce. The sauce was creamy and paired well with the bread. For entree ordered the linguine Portofino and tagliatelle bolognese. Both were cooked well and tasted great. The portofino was slightly salty but generous with the crab meat. The menu also has a wide variety of vegetarian pastas along with an extensive salad menu. Overall great restaurant. A little on the pricey side
Authentic Italian food and friendly staff. We often use their private room for a small group up to 30 people. Located in part of quaint downtown Saratoga. There are outdoor dining tables too. After lunch, you can also walk around the charming town.
Staff was very attentive. Unfortunately, I was not too impressed with my meal. It was tasteless and bland. The bread served before the meal, though it was very yummy. Crab cakes were okay.
We really enjoyed our dinner here. The restaurant is tucked back in a quaint spot just off the Main Street. Too bad it was raining or we could have sat outside. The bread they bring before dinner is phenomenal and it comes with a zesty spread. I could have made a meal off that alone! We ordered the baked lasagna and baked rigatoni - both delicious. The service was adequate but nothing special. Glad we tried this one out!
Downtown Saratoga staple! Two of us ordered: -glass of sauvignon $13 -florentine cobb salad $17.95, was charged another $0.75 for a different dressing since the vinaigrette was too salty -burrata $13.50, was good -1 large 6 piece bread $3.50 The 1st round of bread is complimentary (2 slices each person I believe). I always love eating the bread here. Both orders of bread came out piping hot and it was delicious! Staff was friendly and attentive. Parking available in the back.
We came here for lunch . Pretty big and spacious restaurant . Loved the pasta. Gnocchi and pesto was on the sweeter side . Would have preferred the traditional taste.

Not sure where to start but pizza here is mediocre at best. Their Margherita Pizza is questionable because when you think of margherita pizza you envision sliced mozzarella ball melted and then fresh basil (whole leaves) on the pizza, this was not the case. It was shredded mozzarella and diced tomato with cut up small pieces of basil. Their Florentine deluxe pizza is also okay. Outside of the pizzas the pastas were good. The calamari was quite small, not a great value. Crab cakes were good. The best thing we had was the steamed clams. Overall, I’d say give it a try but I’m not sure about going back anytime soon. Also, charging 22% (automatically) for a party of 6 or more is a bit much, I typically see 20% for some high end places or even 18%.
As others have noted, the house bread is quite delicious. However, the other fare I sampled did not transport me to northern Italy. The menu does not seem to take much inspiration from Tuscany, so I opted for tried and true favorites: the spaghetti and meatballs as well as the margherita pizza. Both tasted perfectly fine, but neither blew me away, and when you take the prices into account (which may be less than fair given the locale) they certainly felt lacking compared to other establishments I've visited. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was excellent, and I'd certainly return again to try other dishes, but if it's the classic Italian flavor you crave, I'd venture elsewhere.
The price is quite competitive but it shows in the food - you get what you pay for! Pasta dishes were a bit bland and the seafood they use appear to have been frozen before, and the pasta is machine made dry pasta. Our favorite thing was the complimentary garlic and herb bread!

Pros: cute and spacious indoor and outdoor, good selection of food Cons: small portions, not attentive servers
If your friends force you, go to Florentine. Else, literally any other restaurant on Big Basin road will be better. Run of the mill "Italian" food, at high prices, served slowly. Pesto gniooci ($20) had old canned pesto. Ditto for ravioli ($20). The pizza arrived cold, and soggy.

I really wanted to like it. I don't know what the rave is all about. Only good thing was the bread that came out. The bread came with a cheese spread that tasted like cheeze wiz out of a can (fake cheese). Salads were very small and lacked flavor. The minestrone soup tasted like old cabbage in bland tomatoe water, disgusting! Literally chunks of cabbage cores. The lasagna and angel hair pasta dishes all lacked flavor. Italian food bland? I think not. This place will deliver bland food at a high price. Save this place or close it. It's been around long enough.
Possible very concerning ADA issue. I saw a sign posted outside that said service dogs must have a registration number. Service dog registration is not a thing—meaning there’s no governing body overseeing a system like that—and companies claiming to give you a certificate or registration number are usually a scam. Asking for this presents an issue for someone with a legitimate disability who trained a dog to perform a medical task completely on their own. According to ADA, the restaurant is not allowed to ask for service dog identification or anything about your medical situation other than “Is that a service dog for a disability” and “what task is it trained to perform?” If you are a service dog owner, please know your rights and study the ADA! I understand that in our area, “pet parents” have become extremely entitled to have their dogs in restaurants and grocery stores, but this discriminatory way of handling the issue is going to do more harm than good and potentially drive the bad pet parents to just pay for a fake registration number, thus making things even harder for legitimately disabled individuals with service animals. I strongly suggest the business takes down the sign before someone more litigious sees it, and that they learn a more effective way to handle pets vs service dogs while staying in compliance with the ADA. Edited after reply: What’s “rediculous” is that the restaurant isn’t taking discrimination seriously. I could have just reported you for the ADA violation instead of making this review so you fix it. I was trying to HELP YOU NOT GET SUED. But ok, at least people see how ridiculous you are!
This place used to be amazing. Had great pastas, salads and the bread with cheese sauce was next level. It must have new management or owners…the servings are tiny, spaghetti had very little sauce, meatballs were dry and flavorless. The bread is still good but they give you 1/10th of the cheese sauce they used to give you for a full round. After coming here for 20+ years I will no longer be coming back.
I used to love this place. So disappointing. 3 of us were there for a birthday celebration. They brought us their bread basket which was good but with one little plastic cup of cheesy butter. We asked if we could have some more and the waitress, practically rolled her eyes and had an attitude. Had the seafood salad but just not good. Service was not good. They literally had an attitude when we asked for more water which they never refilled. Could not order reg coffee only espresso which came in a lg coffee cup. Chinese chicken salad was sub par with an unexpected dressing. The service and food did not match with their pricing. Service was just really bad. We will not be back.
