Great find! I'm so happy I came here what a lovely little restaurant, the atmosphere, vibe and decor are so nice. I was greeted, sat down offered water and asked if I wanted a drink, I ordered tea which came fast and was piping hot. I then got a ramen which was so tasty and filling. I was suffering from the cold blast in NYC and this really warmed me up and filled me up. I have no complaints at all. Fantastic service, will 100% return if I come back to NYC
Great small place with amazing ramen dishes and more. I enjoyed the appetizer Agedashi Tofu followed by a big bowls of Spicy Tonaotsu then Shoyu Ramen that my hubby and I shared. Both were delicious and the spicy bowl made my nose run! 😜😋❤️!
Ramen is a great choice for a meal on a freezing day. The Spicy Tokotsu Ramen packs quite a kick and the broth was more viscous than I'm used to. Uniquely the ramen incorporated bok choy and sesame seeds. The hot sake was refreshing after spending some time out in the cold. The restaurant is rather cozy and it was a good thing I came in the early afternoon before rush hour. The place started to get crowded around 4 o'clock. Overall the meal and drink was a boost to my morale.
Loved my vegetable tempura ramen, crispy fried tempura veggies along with a hot bowl of ramen I personally am not a fan of pickled ginger on the top of the noodles but maybe it’s essential for the flavor or to add more depth to the flavor of the dish. Also tried their fries and agedashi tofu. Excellent experience. Ps there might be a wait time on weekend. They don’t take reservations, walk-ins only.
Cool ramen spot near Broadway with well portioned meals. The signature seafood ramen packed a punch and had lots of great ingredients. Thought the yakitori was okay but skippable. Limited seating!
Food was super tasty and service was fantastic!! We had the Vigan ramen and Yakiniku don. The Vigan bowl comes with abundant of toppings, I added an egg (vegetarian-friendly, not marinated in animal products). The price is very reasonable for the area, definitely great money value. The service was very welcoming and friendly, definitely made the dining experience very pleasant. Highly recommended! 😋👍
My Ramen was so darn good, that I will be going back soon. The place is really small, so prepare yourself for either a long wait-time, or to be in close proximity with fellow New Yorkers, while you chow down. The decor of the place makes you forget that you're in NYC. I would recommend this place to anyone.
As a person who has spent a lot of time in Japan, I can confidently say this is some of the best Ramen in the world! Think cuts of meat, soy eggs are savory, and the broth warmed my soul. It's not often I am compelled to drink my bowl dry but believe me when I say, I drank every last drop!! If you're in NYC and looking for the best Ramen available, you found it.
The only thing that made this atmosphere 4-stars was the random lady from the street coming in and screaming at all the patrons. Otherwise the Ramen was super good, the service was quick, and the atmosphere felt like I was in a Ramen shop in Japan.
Great ramen, but the place is quite small, WC was not clean enough, but giving good Japanese vibe!!
Fantastic ramen! Had the Kohoku-ku Ramen dish with soft shell crab and tempura shrimp. A nice spicy kick that goes very well with an IPA.
Ridiculously good ramen and a lovely atmosphere. Great prices too 😸
Amazing place. We ordered the shoyu ramen and the chicken curry rice and the flavors were just on point. Both dishes were delicious. The waitress was constantly checking in and handled all tables well. Would definitely recommend!
Ramen and curry was super yummy. Hot sake was great on a chilly, snowy, winter day.
On a chilly, rainy Wednesday evening, we were in the mood for a comforting, soupy dinner. We stumbled upon Kohuku-Ku Ramen, a cozy, intimate spot in the neighborhood with a limited seating capacity of around 18-20 people. Despite being a small establishment, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our party of two were promptly seated, and although the place quickly filled up, the service remained attentive. To start, we ordered the Kyoto IPA beer, which was a great accompaniment to our meal. For appetizers, we chose Ajitsuke Iidako, a cold dish, and Bara (pork belly) Yakitori, both of which were delicious and full of flavor. For our main course, we opted for two different ramen options: Ebi Ramen and Shoyu Ramen. If you're someone who can handle spicy food and enjoys a generous serving of shrimp, the Ebi Ramen is an excellent choice. However, be warned - it's quite spicy! I had to wash it down with my beer to cool down. On the other hand, the Shoyu Ramen was rich and savory, with tender chicken karaage pieces. Both bowls were well-portioned and packed with flavor. Overall, we were impressed with the quality of the food and the cozy atmosphere. If we find ourselves in the neighborhood again, we'll definitely be back to try more of what Kohuku-Ku Ramen has to offer.

Tiny spot, BOMB ramen - the broth was super flavorful, toppings generous, noodles could stand to be a bit chewier but that's personal preference Highly recommend the ebi ramen - honestly feels a bit like tom yum soup , very citrus and robust
Very good ramen and excellent yakiniku don. The appetizers were just okay. Portions are on the smaller side, which make sense given how inexpensive it is! Fantastic for lunch or for a short meal, probably not for a first date. Stopped in at 8pm on a Thursday and there was a short wait for a two seater table.

Very authentic little restaurant. We both had the tonkotsu ramen and an agedashi tofu. Loved the noodles and the broth. Very reasonably priced. And a must, the matcha montblanc red bean dessert. We will come back. So convenient if you’re going to Broadway.
I stopped by KOHOKU-KU RAMEN in NYC and ordered the Tonkotsu Spicy Ramen..easily one of the best decisions I made that day. The broth was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of heat. The noodles had great texture, and the egg was cooked perfectly, creamy, soft, and exactly how a ramen egg should be. A huge shoutout to Som, my server, who truly went above and beyond. She was attentive, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better with her kindness and great service. If you’re in the area and craving ramen, this place is absolutely worth it. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Solid ramen-ya in Hell’s Kitchen. I had their shoyu ramen. Price/Taste/Ambience/Service are all solid. Broth good, thin noodle texture/firmness good, menma good. Will be back to try their tonkotsu next time :)
Pretty good ramen, probably 3.8 if I’m being specific. Spicy tonkotsu was oddly lacking in flavor…never a good thing when the main flavor in a dish is the spice. The broth is THICK, the chashu pork could’ve been more tender. The ahiru ramen was delicious! Wish I’d ordered that instead. The truffle flavor was prominent but not overwhelming, the duck was a little dry and tough, but the broth was insane. Also ordered a chashu bun as an app and it was fine. Service was normal for us, didn’t experience the negativity others experienced thankfully. Cute interior!

Went for dinner on a rainy night, walking in felt cozy compared to the weather outside! The server was abrupt but not rude. The food was extremely delicious!!! I had the ebi ramen and it was cooked to perfection with amazing flavor and spicy how I like it!

Okay ramen. The noodles were a bit hard, the chashu pork was dry. Otherwise the flavor was fine, but texture is king. The portion was average size. The room is cozy, it feels authentic, and it's fairly quiet.

The dining experience was somewhat disappointing, as the meal had the potential to shine but fell a bit short. The karaage fried chicken appetizer was a highlight, freshly fried and paired excellently with a zesty lemon wedge and spicy mayo, creating a nice balance of flavors. However, the gyoza was underwhelming, with an inconsistent sear on the bottom, and a filling that felt like it was just frozen gyoza from a packet. The ramen broth, while savory, lacked depth and complexity, leaving me questioning whether it was truly homemade. Additionally, the broth was overly thick, verging on tsukemen territory. The noodles had a nice al dente texture, which was a redeeming factor. Unfortunately, the grilled pork was served lukewarm, missing the mark on temperature and flavor. I’d suggest flash-grilling the pork to order to ensure it’s heated through and infused with a flavorful char. Overall, with some refinements, this meal could reach its full potential.
