If I could give more than 5 stars to Angel’s Tijuana Tacos, I would in a heartbeat. These are truly the best tacos I’ve ever had in my life — and I’ve been to Mexico multiple times. I’ve had amazing tacos there, but somehow Angel’s takes it to another level. The al pastor is unreal — perfectly seasoned, juicy, and carved fresh with that perfect char that adds so much flavor. And watching them press and cook the tortillas right in front of you? Game changer. The tortillas are fresh, warm, soft, and make every bite taste even better. They load the tacos with incredible melted cheese and even give you a free slice of pineapple on every single taco — that sweet and savory combo is absolute perfection. And the best part? They have unlimited fresh lemons available for you to squeeze on yourself, so you can add as much bright, citrusy kick as you want. Every detail is fresh. Every bite is packed with flavor. I’ve eaten tacos all over, including throughout Mexico, and nothing compares to this. In my opinion, these are the best tacos in the world. 🌮🔥
Some of the best tacos I've had. The asada (steak) had a lovely charcoal grilled flavor, which I hadn't had in a taco before but was delicious.
Best tacos in LA. Each taco comes pretty stacked with meat. The al pastor without cheese and the carne asada with cheese are my favorites.
Happy to see Angel’s expanding. I had been multiple times to the one near Dodger Stadium and was blown away by the experience. This one nails it to. The Al Pastor on a trompo kicking out hot cuts on meat and pineapple. Mmm. Try the vampiro. Has excellent crunch. Salsas are all great. The home made juices are worth getting too especially if they have either the Passion Fruit or the Pineapple (not so much on the watermelon).
Definitely a true L.A experience . This can’t compare to Houston TX Hispanic food but sometimes the experience and being able to watch someone cook your food in front you and also cook it on the street is wonderful. Wasn’t a far walk from where I live ! Can also be sad to see if the stand next to them doesn’t have anyone ..I’ll be sure to shop with the person that was on the right of them next time I come back .
Large portions, reasonably priced, delicious. You can't go wrong with the carne asada fries, or the quesaburrito. The carne asada has a uniquely "Tijuana" taste. I highly recommend.
Amazing! I just moved to LA to Highland park, and I remember driving by this place and there was this looooooong line of people. So I figured I had to try it one day. Wow. I’ve been there a few times and haven’t reviewed it, so it’s about time. Tonight I went and got a chicken quesadilla (corn tortilla) and 2 queso tacos with Al Pastor. 🤤 First, they PACK it with meat. I always over order. Every. Single. Time. I should’ve just gotten the quesadilla or maybe, MAYBE one taco. Now I’m in a food coma. 😴 The food was delicious. The service was fast and friendly. If I could give them 6 stars I wouldn’t. I’ve been to a few other tacos spots i the area…. None of them compare. Quesadilla (corn tortilla) - $9 Queso tacos - $3.50 each Can’t go wrong with these prices either. Great price and delicious food. I’ll be back for my next cheat meal ! 💪🏼🤘🏼🔥 Next time I’m trying the loaded baked potato !! Heard it’s incredible !
I recently dined at this street taco restaurant, and I must say, it lives up to its reputation as one of the best in the nation. The Al pastor taco was a delightful explosion of flavors. It was juicy, with a perfect balance of savory and sweet notes that danced on my taste buds. The aroma alone was enough to make my mouth water, and the taste did not disappoint. The corn tortillas were a testament to freshness, providing a soft and slightly chewy base that complemented the Al pastor filling perfectly. Each bite was a harmonious blend of textures and tastes. One highlight that took me by surprise was the Al pastor baked potato. It was a delightful twist on a classic dish, with the tender, flavorful Al pastor meat adding a unique twist to the potato. The combination was a mouthwatering experience, and I would highly recommend giving it a try. The only downside to this fantastic experience was how quickly the restaurant fills up. It seems that everyone in town knows about this gem, and it stays bustling with eager diners. So, be prepared to wait for a table, but trust me, it's worth it for the incredible street taco experience that awaits you.
This place is so legit that their staff do not speak English. That won’t be an issue because all you have to do is point or say what you want and they are on it. I’ve always wondered why this place has plenty of traffic every time I passed by Target and I’ve finally figured out why. It’s a combination of these two things: 1) Quality 2) Quantity Quality - The meat tastes good and everything is made fresh in front of you. The tortilla is cooked at the start of the line and they only prepare it as you order. Same for the meat. The chicken is also cooked consistently. Quantity - They are not stingy with the amount of meat they put in your taco, burrito, or whatever. You always get a huge amount and you can share the burrito or the mulita with one other person. Tacos are also given a lot of meat! This is my new taco place. They even serve a variety of drinks so this is a good spot to try.
I am always skeptical about street tacos stands. But after visiting Angel's I have a whole new outlook. The line was bit long, at first I said must be a hype or lot of hungry people at 1am. But once I got closer and smelled the amazing food being grilled, WOW! I could not stop ordering. The meat was so tender and juicy no dry meat in sight. There are two ladies pressing and making fresh tortillas. Off to the side meat was being grilled. The family was very nice and food was delicious and on point. Must visit but be prepared for long lines.
Solidddd tacos. Large portion sizes, well seasoned and flavorful. Little greasy but that adds to the juiciness. Definitely worth a stop, if not multiple stops ;)
It's was amazing! Don't be intimidated by the big line it goes by fast I'm not kidding. I tried all their meats. I would say pastor is #1 asada #2 chicken #3. I forgot what meat it was but I wouldn't recommend it, I'll update when I got back. The only thing that was concerning was that on some tacos I got I found a piece of plastic like I thought it was an onion or something but no straight plastic and I saw another review say the same thing
The food is good, but today I had a papa loca and the potato was hard. It even bendt the fork. I went to cashier to see if I could get a replacement or refund. They told me I couldn't get a refund because she had jot it down on her list but she could give me tacos. I didn't want tacos. So came back home with my hard potatoe. 😭
I had suuuuch high hopes for this place. Don't get me wrong, the tacos were very tasty, just soooo greasy!! My asada taco grease got all over. I mean, it didn't stop me from eating most of my food 😬🤣.... but the grease floating on my plate was a lil bit of a disappointment. 😩 Hubby's tacos were REALLY GOOD, no grease so maybe it was a bad asada night. I'LL BE BACK though.... to giver her another try.
This spot is great! Just watching them make the tortillas FRESH was so satisfying! We went late though, around 11pm, so they were low on some ingredients. We got a quesadilla, and I noticed they skimped on the cheese, there were no more onion and cilantro, but they put so much meat!! I just wish they'd put more cheese, but I also understand that they were probably trying to stretch the cheese that had until closing. Would still go back there tho ⭐️
The long lines are certainly true, be told here. A popular stop for great tacos for quite a long time now, this street taco stand has won over both locals and visitors alike. An explosion of fans from word of mouth has really created the craze. There is a bit of a hit or miss here. I have had some great plates, and sometimes not so great. The food is good here, but competition is high in Los Angeles, especially when you're in Highland Park adjacent. Most visitors rave about the Al Pastor, but I think the star here is the Asada. Prices have also risen with popularity; however, there are other stands that offer some better tastes, salsas, and are less crowded.
I ordered al pastor tacos and a carne asada burrito and there was literally a sharp large piece of plastic in my tacos, and I ended up chewing on it and hurting my mouth. If I swallowed it without knowing, I would be in the hospital for this hazardous piece of plastic potentially ripping through my stomach. This is absolutely unacceptable. I need a full refund for this meal. I have messaged the instagram of this establishment and awaiting resolution.
Don't believe the hype about this being "LA's best tacos" - seriously, who's rating these? Parking was easy since they're right by a Target lot. Ordered 2 al pastor and 2 asada tacos. You can see their trompo spinning and they do the salsa for you, but that's where the good stuff ends. Nice and efficient service. Typical taco stand on the side of the street with some tables. These were honestly some of the worst tacos I've had in LA. The meat was straight-up bland and the tortillas were so soft they just fell apart - ended up with a wet mess instead of a taco. Nothing about these was worth the social media buzz they're getting. Save yourself the disappointment. There are way better taco trucks all over LA. Skip this one.
