BBQ Heaven in L.A. Bludso’s BBQ is the real deal. The moment you walk in, that smoky aroma hits you and you already know it’s about to go down. The brisket is melt-in-your-mouth perfection, the ribs fall off the bone, and the mac & cheese? Straight-up comfort food gold. Sides are on point, sauces are flavorful without overpowering, and the portions are legit. The vibe is laid-back but lively, perfect for kicking back with friends or family. I’ve had BBQ all over, and Bludso’s is top tier hands down one of the best in California.

06/15/2025 I've always wanted to come here when I was working around the area but I was always busy so I celebrated fathers' day here, I ordered the brisket and the pork ribs with potato salad, corm bread, and mac and cheese on the side. The brisket was ridiculously delicious, it was tender, juicy, and the meat and fat just melts in your mouth. The corn bread was great too. Cesar and Kimmie were kind and helpful. I paid $66.94 plus tip. It was a total of $80 but it was worth it.

The restaurant is located on the west side of the street. There are parking meters in front of the restaurant and NORTH and SOUTH of the restaurant on La Brea Ave. The service was outstanding. The food was well cooked. The food was tasty and the dishes, serve were large. The cornbread is very good. The Keylime pie was especially tasty. The restaurant has a full bar and service beer and wine in addition to selected brands of liquor.

Amazing BBQ soul food in the heart of Los Angeles!! The brisket, sausages, ribs, and pulled pork all fire!! Kevin Bludso is a BBQ legend. All their sides are incredible too. Our favorites were the baked beans, coleslaw, and corn bread. Also don’t pass on the key lime pie!! Brock was super friendly and helpful as our sever. Marlin in the back is the man too. Definitely check out Bludso’s BBQ next time you’re in LA!

I was initially drawn to Bludso's BBQ after watching Kevin Bludso on Barbeque Showdown and I'm happy to report, his food does not dissapoint. Everything from the brisket to the pork ribs to the collard greens to the cornbread were immaculate. I've heard many lamentations that the west coast lacks quality barbeque and although there may be some truth to that, this location of Bludso's BBQ is getting it right. Absolutely worth a visit if you're near Hollywood in LA.

Came here last night and it was delicious. I’ve only ate here three times and tbh it never misses to hit the spot. The food was delicious and their drinks were ok but the food definitely made up for it. Be ready to spend a pretty penny but well worth it in my opinion. If you’re on a diet… maybe stay away 😅especially since their desserts are 🔥 My only small complaint is that looks like a Texan barbecue place but doesn’t play any country 🤣

This place really hits the mark. Authentic Texas barbecue, no more, no less. We came on a weekend and shared the brisket and pulled pork with both spicy and non-spicy sauces. It was absolutely phenomenal. Alongside that, we shared fries, a small mac & cheese, coleslaw, and one corn bread. Each side was better than the next. The ambiance is lively and bustling; while I don’t care for massive TVs everywhere, you don’t really notice them once the amazing food is in front of you. The service staff were all friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable. What more can I say – I’m already looking forward to returning to LA to come here again.

The pork ribs were dry with this order. They used to just fall off the bone, but these were so dry that even the BBQ sauce couldn't fix them. The brisket was the only thing that was still somewhat good. The mac and cheese and greens were just alright. If I hadn't experienced how incredible Bludso's used to be, this would easily be a one-star rating. It's a bummer to see such a drop in quality from what was once truly exceptional BBQ.

I don’t like just giving out 5 stars but this place was close. The brisket was so tender and moist I could cut it with a fork. The Mac and cheese was the star though, by far the best I’ve had. The seasoning was on point cheesy but not overpowering and a good mix between wet and dry Mac and cheese. End the meal with their banana pudding you won’t be disappointed.

I found this place through YouTube. Many influencers had been saying it was delicious, so I wanted to try it, and so my wife and I went. First of all, there's no parking lot, so you have to either park on the street or find your own parking in the neighborhood, which is a bit of a hassle. The meat is incredibly tender and melts in your mouth. That's a plus. However, while the short ribs were tender, they had a strong charcoal flavor. On the other hand, the pork ribs were fine. The cornbread wasn't anything special either. The coleslaw was delicious. Finally, the brisket... was incredibly tender and flavorful, with no charcoal smell. I don't think I'll go there often though, but when I'm craving American BBQ... it's worth a visit. I went on a Sunday lunchtime, so it wasn't too crowded.

LA rib tips are decent; there's hard chunks you have to spit out. Good flavor though. Cornbread not as good as I was hoping; it's kinda dry. The mac and cheese is VERY good. Brisket is decent, not amazing. Dinosaur beef rib is the star of the show; WAY better than the brisket. It's huge; serves 2-3. Not a big fan of their BBQ sauce Blackberry cobbler isn't that good. Very hard to cut the cobbler part. The ice cream is good though. The banana pudding is excellent. No "Crisco" flavor coating your mouth which is a common issue. There were no reservation spots available online on a Friday night, but we didn't need one anyway! Everything is served VERY fast. Servers are VERY friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced.

Atmosphere & Service The La Brea spot felt like a classic, well-run barbecue joint — clean, organized, family-friendly, and with that authentic BBQ house energy. We actually got lucky: it wasn’t packed when we arrived. Normally the line is real. Service was quick, efficient, and on point. Staff were helpful from start to finish. As expected from a celebrity pit master, you could find his cookbooks, seasoning blends, and merch right inside the restaurant. What We Ordered My son and I went in hungry and ready to test the hype. Hushpuppies Fried just right — golden, crisp, and true to Southern comfort. Smoked Jumbo Wings (Dry Rub) Let me tell you something… these wings are serious. That dry rub hits hard — smoky, layered, seasoned perfectly, and absolutely addictive. One of the best items we tried. Loaded Fries Big portion, flavorful, and definitely sharable. LA Rib Tips (my son’s pick) Tender, smoky, and packed with flavor — real rib-tip energy. Sides: Baked Beans & Mac and Cheese Exactly what you want from BBQ sides — hearty, flavorful, and comforting. Everything came out hot, fresh, and well-seasoned. They know exactly what they’re doing back there. Final Thoughts Bludso’s BBQ on La Brea is the real deal. Great service, great food, and that authentic pit-master craftsmanship. My son has already been back a few times since, and I’ll definitely return next time I’m in Los Angeles. Highly recommended — especially those smoked jumbo wings. If the other locations are anything like La Brea, Bludso’s is top-tier BBQ anywhere you go. *my personal experience😉

The portion size has gotten out of control. This picture is almost $30 worth of food. The fries are $9 alone, the corn bread (which I’ve gotten MANY times) was unbelievably small. I first had Bludso’s BBQ years ago at the original Compton location, and it was unforgettable. Every visit back then was consistently excellent—hands down the best BBQ in town. The seasoning was perfect, the meat was tender and juicy, and everything delivered. That experience was an easy five stars. Unfortunately, over the years of ordering from the La Brea location, there have been recurring issues with consistency, and my most recent order in January 2026 may be the last. We ordered a pound of brisket, a full rack of ribs, and the family meal, which includes a whole chicken, two pints of sides, and cornbread with honey butter. This time, all of the meats were dry—especially the pork ribs. They used to fall right off the bone, but these were so dry that even the BBQ sauce couldn’t save them. The brisket was the only item that was still somewhat enjoyable. The chicken was overly salty, and the mac and cheese and greens were just okay. If I hadn’t experienced how incredible Bludso’s once was, this would easily be a one-star rating. It’s disappointing to see such a decline from what was once truly exceptional BBQ. I took these pictures after I had consolidated the leftovers and placed in the fridge for a couple of hours.

The food here is absolutely 🔥—delicious, flavorful, and worth coming back for. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the quality of the kitchen. I’ll likely return for takeout, but I hope the staff receives better training in customer service. When we arrived, we weren’t greeted within a reasonable time, and once our server finally approached, he barely acknowledged us. He didn’t offer any help with the menu, didn’t make recommendations, and gave off the vibe that we were inconveniencing him just by being there. We came to celebrate Juneteenth and enjoy a great meal, but the lackluster service took away from the experience. With a team that matched the energy of the food, this place is unbeatable. I watch all of your shows and drove quite a few hours to get to this location today. I’m so happy the food was good!But please don’t limit good service to everyone, were had a great holiday and just wanted to end it with some good bbq.

I ordered a pickup meal totaling $35 per plate and was shocked by what I received. The portions of meat were extremely small for a BBQ restaurant — especially at this price point. Each container had only a few small slices of brisket and a single sausage, nowhere near what you’d expect for a “2 meats” plate. For context, the photos were taken before eating — but even after eating, the portion size was very disappointing for what was paid. This was my first meal postpartum while still in the hospital, and I was really looking forward to something filling and comforting. On top of that, no utensils were included, and the baked beans were overwhelmingly vinegary. Overall, this felt like a complete rip-off. I’ve never seen a BBQ spot serve this little meat for this price. I won’t be ordering again.
