Murakami Sushi

if you sit at the sushi bar at Murakami Sushi, alone with nothing to do but to enjoy food and observe the chefs working their magic, you will definitely have a wonderful experience. I had the mixed bowl that comes with albacore, tuna, salmon, shrimp, and yellowtail. after finishing it up, the sushi chef there really took to notice of my appetite for having one more piece of nigiri. he suggested kindly that I can also do only one piece since I had a bowl. which Ied me to trying out the kanpachi sushi, a type of yellowtail (which the chef explained to me as I was choosing). they also have a lunch menu if you want to come during lunch time as well.

Fast friendly service. We were given the VIP treatment. We ordered a variety of food, but my favorite was the Yellowtail collar fish. The warm sake was also a great first time experience. The staff was very welcoming and friendly providing us with constant attention. Our local family ordered their favorite foods and it was all delicious and cooked to perfection. They even brought us matcha ice-cream with a candle for well wishes on our journey home. Chef's kiss!

Murakami is our go to local sushi LA restaurant! Nothing beats the quality and the service. We found this through a Google search and we have never looked back. Every time we come it never disappoints. It's not as big as your usual chain sushi place, it's smaller and personable! The setting is quaint and good for first dates and group of friends! There is a sushi bar in the middle, and they do have a small patio outdoor seating. The dishes and the sushi chefs are your local Rockstars! The waiting and seating staff is amazing too everyone is so kind and they care. You can tell by the quality of the fish from each bite. Our go too and recommendations our: I love the OMG roll as a cut roll And if you love crispy rice I recommend that, I get the spicy tuna on top. Shishito, and Karage they have killer fried chicken! Spicy tuna in general the best, as a hand roll lover or as cut pieces you aren't missing out, both amazing!

I loved their bowl sashimi with sushi rice. So much better than the typical poke places around! The service was good. The OMG roll did not disappoint. The shrimp tempura in the roll was crunchy and the spicy tuna was just perfect. I finished with the Uni sushi. It was a perfect, sweet, salty and satisfying way to complete the meal. We will start coming here regularly.

Got the Zuke-Don Togo. Was right when they reoped at 5:30 and it was made fast and tasted great! Easy pick up and great service! Perfect for if your in the Melrose area and want an amazing fish bowl or some sushi.

Mmmm… I just found one of my favorite sushi spots! No longer do I have to travel to Sushi Gen downtown to get fresh, succulent sushi that has supreme texture and quality taste. I’ll definitely be coming here often from now on!!

Best Japanese restaurant in West Hollywood. My partner is Japanese and I lived in Tokyo for over 10 years. Murakami is hands down the most authentic and best Japanese food we’ve had in Los Angeles. Their sushi chefs are actually from Japan and really have the skills, knowledge, and the art, necessary to make great sushi. Reservations during dinner hours are a good idea.

I was picking up an order on Tuesday around 7:15 PM when the server ,thin, with a ponytail and wearing a dark blue sweater — behaved extremely rudely and disrespectfully. She invaded my personal space, and when I told her not to touch me, she became even more aggressive.

issue with picking up order from Uber Eats. lady made it very complicated. also food is overly expensive.

I was really excited to order sushi from here after seeing a really good review on Reddit but the salmon was completely chewy and inedible. I tried to get a refund for it on uber eats but I’m not sure how to do it. I paid over $100 for this sushi and it was inedible. You should definitely skip this place!
