Visiting L.A. and I’m a sucker for a catchy restaurant name. When we saw the name? I was sold!! I should preface this with, I’m from the East Coast; but I grew up in Oklahoma. And we take the Smash burger SERIOUSLY. I use to beg my mom for them as a child, and she would rarely acquiesce, quick to respond with the Black American Momma mantra of…”we got smash burgers AT HOME!”🤣 The spot nailed the authenticity of a regional dish miles away. It tasted like nostalgia, like being home, “by the time the street lights came on.” It tasted like Saturday morning cartoons, followed by Saturday morning house cleaning chores.🥰 The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and explain anything you ask. The wait time was legit 10/15 mins. In a block of charming restaurants this place keeps it simple and classic…I’m soooo coming back before I leave! And the fries!? Oh they are a problem! But the good kind! 🤤10 outta ten!!
💣!!! One of the best smash burger I’ve been too. The fries are fire 🔥 also. Well worth the drive and try for this spot. The staff was friendly and good service.
One of the best smash burgers that I’ve had in Los Angeles. It’s better than a lot of the other competitors nearby. The menu is small, as well as the interior. There are only about 5 counter seats inside total and no standing room. However the flavors are truly great, the meat is seasoned perfectly, it just has a great flavor to it. There is no dedicated parking so your only option will be street parking. There are only three options on the menu, and we got all of them. They have the Smash Burger, in a single or double, and the Oklahoma Burger, which is basically the same thing as the smash but with onions. They also have a Grilled Cheese, as well as French Fries. Both the burgers tasted great, I enjoyed the one with the onions, just because it added an additional taste profile. I wish the fries were less crispy, but I still enjoyed them. Overall a great casual burger spot that I would recommend to anyone. The smash style burger is huge in Los Angeles and this is definitely one of the best places to get one.
Burger she wrote makes a great smash burger and authentic Oklahoma burger. The simple menu and affordable prices make it a great spot to hit with friends. However the fries were definitely the best part of the meal.
Man, that’s what I’m dreaming about! This burger absolutely blew me away, the quality is top-notch, the flavors are incredible, and it’s honestly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Totally nailed it! Thanks to Alex 🫡🤍. افضل برجر فيك يا LA 😋
This might be the best burger I've ever had. Top 3, at least. They're a little spendy, but they stick to their guns. Big suprise was the fries, typical soggy west coast style but a surprising amount of crunch and tons of lovely black pepper.
Visited this small burger joint today after hearing about it and it did not disappoint. Reina, the cashier, was efficient and tentative and the cook, Rafael, cooked my burger to perfection. Hit up this place for the best smash burgers in town.
Hands down one of the best simple fair smash burgers in town! They use wagyu beef and keep their ingredients straightforward (onions and cheese). Seating is a bit limited in this tiny location, but food gets out rather quickly. Ask for extra crispy fries if you like it crunchy. Definitely give it a try!
My family and I went to burger she wrote today and I got the Oklahoma double burger. It was perfection! The onions were not overwhelming and they were cut perfectly. The French fries were also so good! If you’re in the area this place is a must try! 10/10
The Baxter Burger could be a new one... Seriously, the Oklahoma was the best burger I've ever had in my life.
Best smashburger in LA? Bold statement… yes it it is. Simple fresh ingredients nothing more nothing less. Just for simple burger lovers. You got to get the Oklahoma smash with grilled onions. The fries are double fried to crispy perfection.
Double Oklahoma Smashburger - wagyu beef, American cheese, pickles, onion, ketchup, mustard, mayo / 5 🌟! Crispy French fries / 5 🌟! Burger She Wrote is newer on the LA burger map but they are clearly here to serve up some awesome burgers and are quickly making a name for themselves. The burger was excellent. Very tasty char and smashed to a crisp. I had it with the grilled onions. I love that a lot of spots are serving it with pickles and the backyard bbq condiments. The fries were thin cut and quite crispy. I love all fries and crispy is always appreciated. Excellent spot! Easy parking. Quick service. Pleasant experience all around. Highly recommend.

Best burger ever!!! The fries are addictive! The service was stellar 🥰 The ambiance was informal and welcoming 🙏 you can tell they only use the very best ingredients! Waygu beef hit the spot. Fries 🍟 were amazing! I ate all of mine and my sisters too 😅🤣😂

AMAZING FRIES, they are not crunchy, more the pan fried one and they are cooked at perfection, with their salt and pepper are to die for. O reminded me of mu grandma’s frie. The burger was very food too, order the double tho, the single is too small meat for ratio bun-meat. I would definitely come back and being friends

Saw this place on YouTube. Only great for the meat quality, but size isn’t so fulfilling for a standard burger that most people imagine for. $9 for a slider-size burger 🍔 I didn’t smell that meaty aroma for an American wagyu. It didn’t seem to have a high-fat content, so it wasn’t as juicy as I’ve expected. Overall a quick small bite. (15min wait)
Ok burger if you like smash burgers. Good service. Meter parking is often hard to find. The burgers taste like backyard burgers. The burgers are on the small side and have potato bread buns. Their fries aren’t that great. It’s very popular so expect a good 20 minute or so wait. The crowd is lively and there’s great people watching. It’s a cool experience but a little on the expensive side.
This place was cute, but very small so if you want to sit inside you may need to wait. I love a well seasoned burger. Although it didn't fit in the bun, I enjoyed it so much. I would absolutely come back. The chipotle BBQ was also top notch.
Tasty burger, expectations were a little higher but it was still good. We had to wait for about 20 minutes cause they were very busy. Good spot nonetheless.

Good burger and fries, though the price was a bit more than I felt it was worth. The food came out quickly. Fries were hot and fresh and well prepared. Burger had a lot going on and was a bit overstuffed compared to the bun so it came apart at the end (next time I will try for no toppings so the flavor of the burger comes through more). Limited seating outside, so no larger parties. Good move is to grab a burger and go to Pan Pacific Park to sit and enjoy it.
Continuing on my burger tour I was eagerly made aware of this spot. Intrigued by the whispers of superior meat quality courtesy of wagyu beef I ventured out to check for myself. Tiny spot with very few indoor and outdoor seats. The menu is concise and straightforward with just four items. The Oklahoma burger while enjoyable and flavorful the overall presentation and execution were satisfactory. It is peppery, sweet and salty with the crunchy meat slipping out the sides of the bun. The meat to bun ratio is way off so it was definitely messy to eat and even harder to get the smell of meat off my hand even after a few washes. It is served sizzling hot and I nearly scorched the roof of my mouth taking the first few bites. Luckily the fries are reminiscent of the classic fast food taste, crispy on the outside tender on the inside for the most part, so I nibbled on those for a few while my burger cooled. The pickles were tasty and the chipotle bbq sauce condiment elevated the entire experience. You will leave feeling rich and full. This type of a burger is a once in a while type, reserved for moments of intrigue, worth trying at least once but probably will not become your goto given the other burger options around town.
Pretty small inside and out, somewhat more seating outside, super charming vibe, totally appropriate for the area. Smashburger with onion wasn't bad, but when I visited they were somehow out of French fries, and you gotta have a burger with fries, so my experience felt very incomplete.
Burger is a good spot, but a bit pricey. I definitely need two burgers and fries to feel somewhat full. The ranch is really good, and the fries are solid. The burger can be hit or miss, but it’s still one of my top 5 favorites.

Don’t order online. They had a buy one get one free order of fries or a burger, and none of them arrived. $4 for this drink is wild and funny lol
