This is my third time here and I love it! Whenever I’m in Koreatown, I make it a point to stop by for a delicious black sesame mochi latte! My husband loves them, too, and you can also buy black sesame paste for toast, desserts, and pastries. It’s always clean, always a chill vibe, and the patrons are always respectful. I’ve never had a loud or obnoxious experience here. We came in after a bug lunch on a Monday to find lots of people working here and enjoying life. 10/10 would come back.
Gonna be my go to coffee shop to study.. their WiFi is insane.. could play like league of legends if I really wanted to Their injeolmi latte is top tier and I enjoyed their black sesame one too. Decent amount of space. Parking behind the shop but it gets pretty full quickly
Cafe de Mama has won my heart! you never get to see coffee shops as genuine, handmade, and made from the soul recipes. they handcraft their syrups (most coffee shops useMonin flavoring syrups) and make each drink with craft. their prices are not outrageous like other trendy shops, but are affordable and offer the best drinks. some of my favorite drinks are the mugwort and injeolmi lattes that come with mochi. they even have house made soymilk and ginger honey syrup in their fridge for sale. a coffee shop like this deserves high ratings.
Nice smooth drinks. We got persimmon purée milk and black sesame mochi latte with espresso shot. It’s not overpriced for the quality. Mochi is very chewy and high quality. Service is nice, guy explained how to drink it and recommended different size of straw for diff drinks. Very hard to find parking tho and they do valet if you don’t mind paying.
there is a parking lot in the back across from the repair center that was free mid weekday. a back patio offers outdoor seating they have Korean specialty drinks like injeolmi latte, sook latte (mugwart), and black sesame latte. they offer non dairy options like oat ($.75 extra) tried to sook latte while I worked (not sure about wifi since I hot spotted myself) and it was goooooood. not too sweet and fun bc it comes with some injeolmi on top to dip in the drink. EDIT 2024: Still so good and incredibly kind service! I’ve been missing the sook latte but couldn’t recreate it at home (I don’t live in LA) so I called for tips and they gave me tips!!
Creamy but not too rich or sweet, the black sesame latte had a great balance of flavors. It was delicious.
Found this coffee shop while walking through Koreatown and tried a black sesame drink for the first time , it was so good! The place had a really relaxed, warm vibe, perfect for hanging out. They also had a lot of other drinks I wish I could’ve tried.
Amidst all the cream top coffee trend especially in Koreatown area, cafe de mama's one is surely one of my favorites. You could tell it's good when the petite place is consistently busy, and seems to have visitors from multiple age groups including family. Not a few of them are Koreans, convincing me even more. Being a big fan of Injeolmi and mochi, without a shadow of doubt I choose their Injeolmi Mochi Latte, which is basically their version of latte topped with sweet nutty cream, making it unique and successfully land great taste! They've done amazing job that the coffee taste can still standout and the cream isn't overpowering. The additional injeolmi mochi on top is surely my favorite part and their recommendation to enjoy it with the cream before mixing the cream with the coffee is certainly brilliant!
I was visiting LA from the east coast and stumbled on Cafe De Mama. Their drinks are very unique and taste amazing. I had the black sesame cream latte and the Injelomi strawberry croffle and both tasted sooo good. The staff is so kind and it’s such a great place to do work or just hang out for an afternoon coffee. I’ve come back several times during my trip and will probably make this a staple on future trips to LA.
The coffee shop is not located in the center of K-town and is a bit far out. The surroundings look a bit old and run down a bit. There is parking at the back of the building, and you can also enter from the back. The first impression of the store decoration is 6/10. It looks ok, but I was there to grab and go anyways, so let's move to the coffee part. The cashier stated that the best-sellers are Black Sesame Latter & the Injeolmi Cream Latte, Green Herb Green Latte, and Dirty Matcha Latte. They will tell you how to drink it properly after your coffee is ready. The first time I came here with a friend, I ordered Black Sesame Latter, which I did not like much and thought was ok & my friend ordered the Injeolmi Cream Latte with an extra espresso shot (FYI, this does not include coffee, and you need to add an extra shot). She liked it. Next time I returned and ordered the Injeolmi Cream Latte with no coffee to try myself. I liked the mochi, and how it dipped with the cream on top it was so tasty and blended well together. It was a good combination. I drank the rest of the drink with the no coffee and it was less impressed than usual.
As passing by, noticed a bright blue house that was a coffee shop. Parking is located in the back with patio seating with lights and shade. Very cozy and clean. The employees greet you very nicely and they are friendly answering all my petty questions. I had their roasted rice chips=delicious! They baked it there. I had honey ginger latte per recommendation and it was unexpectedly good. Not too strong of ginger flavor, yummy latte that make you feel healthy. Definitely will return for more flavorful beverages!

Found this hidden gem on my way home and glad I stopped by. I ordered their Black Sesame Cream Latte and wow! It was delicious and addicting. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of their drinks! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable!
This is exactly like the cafes in Korea! I missed the quality espresso and the delicious espresso cremes. They even have a mugwort drink. Something I have not found often in the states. The only difference is the drinks are bigger than Korea and have more milk, still good though. I will come back whenever I am in LA!

Cold brew was a bit sour, but the cold foam was good. Staff was friendly. They gave me a tip to not drink with a straw; I imagine they recommend this so that you get a bit of cold foam with each sip. I rarely get straws anyway, but nice of them to offer some friendly advice. Seems like a decent place to study or work. Parking lot in the back is free and spacious.
We stopped in as we were waiting for dinner reservations. Such a cute cafe! Very spacious, just enough seating to not overwhelm my introverted daughter who loves boba. The photos of there product helped me make my decision on what to order. It took a while for our drinks to be made. Let me tell you, it was well worth the wait! Everything tasted fresh. Nothing tasted as if it came from a frozen pre-packaged anything. The flavors were amazing. I got an espresso based tea. The coffee was made right in front of me. My daughter got a milk tea. If you haven’t been here you need try this cafe!
Is it even fair to call Cafe de Mama a coffee shop? Because to me it's a dessert shop. I mean, you can still get an Americano or a latte if you want to, but you really don't want to miss out on those ridiculously intriguing special drinks. I tried their mochi lattes and I'm a big fan. The cream top is extremely thick that the mochi bites can almost float on it. It's not just normal whip cream, it is blended with grinded grains or herbs to create unique texture and flavor. The Injeolmi mochi latte deserves the top spot of their special drink list. Injeolmi is a variety of Korean rice cake and is slightly sweet and sticky itself. As cream top, it goes superbly well with mochi bites and highlights the chewiness. I also had the mochi latte with Mugwort Green Herb cream, and enjoyed its combination of earthiness and sweetness. I try not to go to Cafe de Mama often because it's a dessert shop! So I've only had one other drink, the black sesame cream latte. Unlike the mochi lattes, this drink does have double shots of espresso, so it tastes darker and more intense than their sweet cream or milk based drinks, although I would say it's still creamier and less coffee-like than similar drinks you get from other coffee shops. In terms of the atmosphere, Cafe de Mama feels more like a boba tea place than a coffee shop. The interior is simple and even a little sterile, service is friendly and no-frills. They would give you a pick up pager for your order, even though sometimes you are the only one in the store.
Good coffee. Excellent black sesame cream latte. Parking is easy on a late afternoon, probably can get crazy during prime time but if you’re in no hurry, there’s residential parking nearby. Baristas are nice and friendly. Helpful on suggestions on best way to consume their drinks.

The cafe is clean and spacious with indoor seating. The staff were nice and service was good. It was my first time here and my friend who is a regular told me to try the black sesame cream latte. It's one of their most popular drinks. The sesame flavor is pretty strong so if you're a fan of that, this drink would be great. It tasted good and I enjoyed it but for me, it was too much sesame after a few sips and I couldn't finish it all. The cream does help balance it out.
We irdered the injulmi coffee, black sesame, and strawberry milk Each one was great and I'd order any of them again I love injulmi and having it as a coffee drink slapped for me. But as much as I love injulmi, I have to give the strawberry milk a shout out. It was so creamy like a milkshake. Black sesame was a bit bland but much better after I added an espresso shot.
Cafe with unique and good selection of drinks. Price is above average ($6+ for “special” drink lattes). I got the injeolmi latte with little Mochi injeolmi to dip and enjoy which I enjoyed. The latte tasted pretty good. What sucked was the WiFi. There were a ton of people working and WiFi didn’t work. Some outlets on the wall which makes it convinient to charge your devices. There were about 3 people working behind the counter at all times so drinks came out relatively fast but the restroom was dirty. The place is loud and filled with students and young adults chatting and working. Free parking in a tiny lot during the day but after 4pm you’d have to valet or street park. Dog friendly as well. I would come here to chat but not to work as WiFi didn’t work.

We ordered 4 drinks here. One of the drinks came out wrong but they refused to remake it even though the drink was untouched and we had the receipt. They told us we had to rebuy the drink. I would understand if it was busy but there were only a few people inside the coffee shop. The drinks themselves were not great. If you are looking for a quality matcha or latte this is not the place. This seems like a place if you like very sweet overpriced flavored drinks.
Came here specifically for their ‘all natural’ claims but the milks they use are the typical barista milks full of gums, natural flavourings and sugars. Very misleading and disappointing
