From the moment we arrived we knew this was a special place. The staff was beyond friendly and greeted us with warmth and made us feel welcomed. The location is beautiful and is a destination worthy of praise. We were there for brunch and the food was sublime. We never felt rushed and we were able to fully enjoy our food. We were also able to tour the cathedral/event room. Very impressive. We will be back.
As we acclimate to being parents and finding places that we can pop in and still have a good time with our baby, Redbird raised the bar. We were able to walk in firstly get to order from the happy hour menu which does come with the requirement of being seated inside in their lounge area but it in itself is a vibe! Food was amazing, the servers were kind and attentive, and the drinks and bartenders were next level great! Baby friendly, and spacious to walk around. The whole aesthetic is beautiful and I recommend this for anyone traveling to LA
Beautiful restaurant, with pretty bathrooms. Food quality is superb. Had the sea bass, smoked tofu and fig appetizer & mochi nut dessert. Cocktails are very unique with fruity wine mix and carbonation. Love the “outdoor” seating.
Attended a wedding here last weekend and really loved it. The venue was beautiful and elegant, perfect for the occasion. The food was delicious, especially the scallops and steak. Highly recommend for weddings or events.
The atmosphere is chill but distinctly upscale. The inside seating has a fancy lounge vibe to it. We sat outside with the open air ceiling and it was very pleasant. The menu was not overwhelming but still had some nice options. The food was delicious. The drinks were on point. Great spot for a nice date. We will be back.
Definitely good quality food & service we like everything including the special cocktails I should mention the host was super nice .
I can’t speak for dinner but for brunch this a top tier brunch spot. Everything was good and they’re really trying to push to give you the best food and service possible. They do something different with their mimosas, I’m not exactly sure they explained it to me but after a few I have forgotten just know they’re perfect. Don Flamenco grapefruit drink is also amazing. All the food was truly exceptional. The blueberry pancakes are huge ! The bacon is so smoky and perfect. The frittata and egg sandwich were both great also. I even posted a pic of the ice cubes cause they’re perfect 😂. Also the atmosphere with the service is just so fire. The roof opens up when it’s nice out. Such a dope vibe. You can’t miss if you come here. Highly recommended!!
An amazing restaurant located close to Little Tokyo, this restaurant offers an elegant menu with high quality ingredients. The staff is amazing, the food was delicious, and the cocktails the perfect amount of alcohol in them. Definitely one of my top restaurants to recommend!
This place was awesome! Perfect for a fancy date night. Great craft cocktails and amazing food.
Met up with friends for a truly delicious dinner. Highlights: Good happy hour deals, but the discount does not apply to the dining area though you may still order anything from that menu. Food favorites: prawns w/ pineapple salsa, summer truffled gnocchi, whole crispy branzino, and peach and cream pie. Prawns were succulent while the salsa added some tartness that enhanced the overall flavor and the almonds on top added a contrast in texture. The gnocchi were incredibly soft and paired nicely with the corn crema, could have done with more truffles though. Branzino was served with a beautiful lemongrass broth that is poured on top at the table. The branzino was tender and absorbed the broth's flavor well. Peach and cream pie was light and a lovely way to end the evening. The restaurant was about half full, which wasn't bad for a weeknight evening, but when I came years back, they were packed on a weeknight. It didn't help that there were a dozen police cars lined up across the street when my friends arrived (we have no clue what was happening). Definitely get the apprehension about coming out to DTLA, but there are restaurants like Redbird that are worth coming out for, especially if you're looking for an elegant and worthwhile dining experience.
Antique, Vintage and Classy. The place is in LA downtown and it is really beautiful. We spent a quite winter evening evening over there. It was our wedding anniversary and they made it really special for us. I would recommend everyone to visit this place. The presentation was elegant. the food was delicious, the service was fabulous. Thanks Redbird for making our evening special. I would surely visit again.

Had lunch here for a private event. Valet, $15, with ultra convenient right in front of the entryway The atmosphere is inviting, yet sophisticated. The building is a very much old Los Angeles building, so spaces are tight and there's a lot of stairs. However there is an elevator for those who are unable to climb up stairs. On to the food. Our set menu consisted of Beet salad Hamachi crudo Roasted chicken King Salmon Penne rigatoni Assorted cookies Both the chicken and salmon were top-notch. The chicken was moist and the vegetables were roasted perfectly. The salmon was perfectly cooked. Which is a rare treat. Amazingly, the beets were fresh vs from a can (which is what I usually run into for beet salads) The quality of the ingredients was good. And you can tell. I am DEFINITELY returning for a meal.
Amazing night at Redbird. Fantastic cocktails, great chef, premium table service. Seven course meal off the hook everything delicious. Hidden away in downtown LA unobtrusively in a wonky neighborhood. Lovely old artisan construction. Definitely shouldn’t be missed.
A beautiful space in a wonderful historical building with gorgeous architecture. There were 4 of us on a fun double date night and the food was delicious and the service impeccable. The chef sent out Shishito peppers and the Parker House rolls - YUM! (and all of us were eyeing that last roll.) I am an appetizer grazer so, for my entree I had the avocado salad and grilled prawns - so good! The fellas had the John Dory and my friend had the Pappardelle. All plates were eaten CLEAN! We indulged in dessert, the fellas both enjoying the Rum Raisin Ice Cream. I had the Mandarin sorbet and my friend had the cranberry sorbet. All dee-lish! I highly recommend Redbird for dates, friendship dinners or drinks in the lounge or at the bar. You will not be disappointed!
We had a wonderful experience at Redbird. The food was absolutely delicious and everything was prepared perfectly. The atmosphere is beautiful and the service was excellent. Everything about the evening was enjoyable. We truly loved this place and will definitely come back again.
The most-amazing restaurant DTLA if not LA as a whole. Gorgeous space, impeccable service, and approachable food, with a side of blood-pressure-reducing chill. The menu is delightful but not "fussy", and the cocktail (including non-alc) & wine programs are outstanding. Chef Fraser's Grace was incredible; and when he decamped to Downtown, to a gorgeous Cathedral space, it was a gift to the city. It's incredible to dine under the stars on a clear night, but NYE was rainy & the roof was closed. Still so cozy, with the big fireplace aglow.
This place was amazing. From the ambiance, the food, and the service. The way the food is presented on the menu might make you think you won't like the food since they're not very standard menu items. But trust the process. Ask the server to provide their recommendations and go with what they say. Everything was amazing.

We visited for the first time after two years and the food was even better than before. I love the ambience here, and the portions are now larger, and the food was excellent. We went with a large party of six and ordered quite a good food, alcohol, appetizers, and in the end the tab was not more than $150 per person which was extremely reasonable. Keep up the good work.
I never really make it to DTLA anymore but if one does, Redbird is pretty great for an intimate dinner, drinks at the bar, celebration with friends, etc. Their menu is pretty solid and they seem to do their basics very well. The porkchop was my favorite. The lamb shank was decent and the curry sauce was excellent. The pastas and salads are always on the mark. What they also do well are cocktails, classic and new fusion and love the night cap menu where they seal a cocktail for you to-go. The wine and desserts are pretty mediocre. Better to just get another cocktail in my opinion. I found the service wonderful. Efficient and friendly. They are run by professionals, which are hard to find these days. The thing I really enjoyed was the atmosphere, especially in the main dining room with open roof. Really sets the ambiance apart from other restaurants.
Great vibe, nice hospitality, can’t beat the setting. The food was good but not out-of-this-world good. Our favorite part was actually the free bread to start the meal. We weren’t told what it was but it was stuffed with a light cheese? and it was amazing. The crudo was fine but nothing unique. The roasted figs were very good but very sweet, it’s right up there for one of the best desserts I’ve ever had, but was an appetizer. The pasta was also fine, but pretty unremarkable. Not pictured is the smoked bbq tofu, which was good and a big portion, but also very sweet, it was really the only flavor to the dish. Mango pudding for dessert was beautiful but I’d get something else if I returned. The scoop of frozen yogurt was exceptional.
We came here on the day the LA protests were happening. So things would have been quieter i am sure. I highly recommend the prawns which were full of flavor. The snap peas were so refreshing and delightful. I really liked the Cavatelli because it wasn't too heavy. The pork chop was prepared very well. The desserts were just OK. The guava sorbet was gritty and the Earl Grey didn't quite come together. The outside air tables were nice but definitely would have been better with the helicopter or loud blasts. Service was good and staff were very informative. This place was worth the visit!
Had a lovely meal here, just don't get the pork chop! Great ambiance and attentive service. Love that the ceiling is open but the temperature is perfect. The drinks were wonderful, John Dory was the best item we ordered, broccolini was also very tasty, but the pork chop was very disappointing. Hard to chew, too sweet, good presentation but otherwise, much regret.

Redbird blew us away. Incredible wine list with an even more incredible sommelier. Jaime provided excellent discourse and recommendations throughout our experience. Every dish we ordered met our expectations from a space like this and service was prompt, and effective. We did find ourselves pouring our own wine a few times which is where I dock a Star. However a female server who was formerly a chef at the restaurant came by and really made our night with her dessert wine and food recommendations. Overall though I highly recommend Redbird and was very happy with our night.
My partner and I came in to check out their DineLA menu. We had certain expectations because we’ve heard such good things about it. We were excited. I started feeling sick as I was finishing up my beef tartare. So, I’m pretty sure that’s the culprit. Long story short, we both got food poisoning. It was an incredibly embarrassing experience. I had to leave my partner at our table alone for over 20mins while I was getting sick in the restroom. And it didn’t help that our server kept asking if my partner was okay and if she wanted the staff to reheat my main course which had gotten cold. My partner got sick once we got home (she has a slow metabolism). We were both sick for about 2-3 days after our dinner at Redbird; our bodies didn’t want to consume food after this experience. We spent $300 for dinner at Redbird to get food poisoning. Unbelievable. Absolutely terrible experience.
