This is one of those must try places if you’re in the area. It’s very unique with tables with mixed chairs, an outdoor patio and a covered outdoor area. Great date spot. I had the Roti wraps both the meat and veggie. I preferred the veggie but both were good. The veggie was just insane. The mushroom satay was my next favorite. With 3 different sauces / salsas to dip them. Very unique, again insane. Nasi Goreng was a nice accompaniment and was good but not as rich in flavor as the first two. But helped balance. I got the shrimp version. Again, go here, you won’t be disappointed.
Had my first experience at Cobi’s after hearing so much about it and it was incredible. Really such a wonderful meal and dining experience. First, our waiter Mitchell was such a delight and helped us explore the menu. We did the Classics and tbh it’s a lot of food. The amount of food you get for the price is amazing value. Definitely recommend! I do want to try the other selection which has more food but one day haha From the classics we got curry puffs, pork dumplings, butter chicken, nera gerang with pork belly, branzino with yellow curry and a small dessert. Loved the curry puffs!! Would order every time there. Pork dumplings were solid. Not standout for me but solid. The butter chicken and the brazino were the stand out dishes. Incredible!! Amazing flavor. Highly recommend. The nets gerang was really good tbh by then our stomach’s were getting filled but it was still good. I’m not a big dessert person so I didn’t really have some so can’t rate there. I’ve been disappointed by a lot of recommendations in the area, this is one that truly was worth the hype. Can’t wait to come again.
Had an amazing meal at Cobi’s. Definitely lives up to the hype. We had the dumplings, curry puffs, beef curry, papaya salad, and roti. Everything was excellent and would order again. Highly recommend! Also very cute decor and patio area.
We love the food here. Not many items are on the menu but everything is delicious. Mushroom and chicken skewers are must! They change the menu for lunch and dinner and recommend trying out both
Honestly the best food I ever had in LA. Unbelievably good Southeast Asian (mix of Thai, Indonesian, Malay, Indian,…) food. Just came here for the first time yesterday and will definitely come back. We tried the raw scallops, grilled prawns, beef rendang, nasi goreng with pork belly, and the chicken butter curry with roti. All 5 dishes were extremely tasty. Drinks were very good too. Highly recommend the Lillet Rosé Spritz. Also nice selection of beers. Highly, highly recommend and can’t wait to come back.
Had a fantastic dinner at Cobi's. We did the tasting menu and every single dish was amazing. Fresh and unique flavors, everything came out piping hot. Our server was great and it was such a cool vibe inside the restaurant. I would definitely go back.
Highly recommend. The food was fantastic, service was great and the atmosphere was cute and charming. I'm often skeptical of restaurants who offer a mix of different regional foods in one menu but they didn't really good job and making all the dishes work really well together. The devil chicken curry was really good and would definitely recommend if you like spicy food.
Home of my favorite butter chicken curry in the city. The menu is vast, and there's something for everyone, but the butter chicken is a must try. I have had the reasonably- priced set menu, and it was so much food I was ready to burst (take home the leftovers!) I also went for brunch, and the nasi goreng, French toast, and fried chicken were huge standouts. My parents were eh about the sparkling oolong and mimosa. There was live music when we were there, and inside has a "grandma's house" aesthetic that is so memorable. Absolutely worth the try!
Housed in a charming pink building with green trim, Cobi’s interior is adorned with mismatched furniture, floral wallpaper, and chandeliers, creating a whimsical and inviting atmosphere. The lush, covered patio enhances the dining experience, making it feel like a secret garden retreat. Complete with soul and reggae music that adds to its unique character. Cobi’s has earned a spot in the MICHELIN Guide as a Bib Gourmand restaurant, highlighting its high-quality, value-driven cuisine. Patrons frequently praise the restaurant for its exceptional food, attentive service, and inviting ambiance. Cobi’s truly delivers a warm, attentive service, and a homey Santa Monica vibe. And Beach is just 5-min walk. I really loved this “Alice in wonderland” fairy-like spot. Remember here has Picnic box if you are planing to have a picnic in the park or on the beach
Such a great Southeast Asian restaurant with romantic, vintage, and elegant décor that feels both comfortable and relaxing. I ordered the Chicken Satay, Scotch Egg, Nasi Goreng Pork, and Rendang Roti Wraps, each dish was flavorful, delicious, and well above average. Overall, the vibe, food, and atmosphere were all fantastic. A must-visit if you’re in the area.
Had been meaning to check out Cobi’s for a while, boy do I wish I’d come sooner. Absolutely delicious food! A lovely ambiance and top notch service.
The atmosphere and staff where simply incredible, and this was the best meal I have ever had. The whole place full of plants and amazing decor. The food came in pretty fast, but apparently they thought it took too long and gave us free dessert! Everything was delicious, but the buttered chicken was otherworldly. It was so sweet warm with a hint of spice, the texture was incredible, and I finally understand what it means for food to melt in your mouth. If you eat meat, you HAVE to try this. The food comes out family style in waves, one dish after another for everyone to share. The waiter recommended 6-8 dishes for four people, but we got 5 and still had leftovers. Prices are good for the type of restaurant an worth the money. You should definitely try it and get a reservation!
Simply put: the best meal I’ve had all year. Stunning flavors for all dishes, the best beef short rib I’ve ever had; literally every dish was a hit. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say this is my fav restaurant in the greater LA area factoring the array of flavorful dishes and value. Well done.

One of my favorite restaurants in LA. The food is unique and flavorful, there’s plenty of light and fresh dishes to pair with their short rib or curries. I highly recommend the kampachi crudo (the finger limes in the dish are bright and add the perfect zest), the green papaya salad, chicken larb, Nasi Goreng, Short rib, and beef rendang. Make sure to book a reservation in advance as it fills up quick. The ambiance is relaxing and welcoming and the service is outstanding. You can’t go wrong here!
I’ve been twice during my visits to Santa Monica. Food has great flavor, service is excellent. Nice location on Main Street and near the beach. My first time was for brunch and second time for dinner. Favorites were the mango salad, curry puffs, green curry, roasted cauliflower and Branzino.
This is such a cute place. I really enjoyed the decor and lighting. Our server was extremely welcoming and attentive. I think I had the best butter chicken ever—highly recommend. We also tried the grilled prawn and shiitake mushrooms—which were equally good. We ended the night with an amazing Thai tea pudding.
Had a fantastic dining experience at Cobi's in Santa Monica! The food was incredibly tasty, and the atmosphere was both beautiful and welcoming. The service team was warm and courteous, making us feel right at home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a delightful meal.
One of our top 3 favorite restaurants in LA. Exceptional food with so much flavor, bringing authenticity of Southeast Asia with every bite. Papaya salad, beef rendang, green fish curry, dry aged kingfish, spicy makaam cocktail were all exceptional and must try’s. The beef short rib with tangy sauce was really good but heavy. Glad we chose this as our last date night spot before moving out of LA. Brought back memories of when I proposed in Bali. Won’t be my last time back though; the food is too incredible. Also service was excellent. Place is compact so tables are a bit cozy with each other and only 1 bathroom. Garden is beautiful.
In one word "WOW" The papaya salad, roti and ribs were so delicious. The ice cream brownies was amazing. The waiters were so nice. the food arrived really fast, and the place is designed in such a beautiful. can’t wait to come back!
We go here for every big day (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.)! Service is always welcoming and friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. I always order more than I could eat bc it’s all so good but it also makes for fantastic leftovers you actually want to eat. I’ve really only gone with reservations so not sure how long walk in waits are but it’s totally worth it regardless.
Honestly one of the BEST meals I’ve had in LA. It’s expensive, but well worth the price. I went with friends and we tried a little bit of everything with the highlight being the pork belly salad 🤤. Butter chicken was also to die for, dumplings were good, chicken was amazing honestly you just can’t go wrong here. We also ordered one of their non alcoholic lychee drinks and it was so beautifully balanced and light. I will definitely be coming back! Service was also very good.
We had the chef’s selection. Plenty of food, so save your appetite for the last couple courses. They are strict about the 2-hour seating time. We enjoyed the $35 corkage fee.
Almost all the food we tried was excellent! However, portion sizes were very small and prices were very high.

came with high hopes and left with disappointments unfortunately i ordered the- lychee blossom: 8.5/10, loved the strong lychee taste nasi goreng: 7/10, the flavor was lacking overall butter chicken: 7.75/10, overall the best dish beef rendang: 5/10, extremely oily, salty and the portion size definitely did not match the price. side dishes (roti & white rice) the waiter luis (i believe) was very nice and attentive however the front door host (fair skin man with a beard) came off as pretentious and rude which threw me off. frankly i also never been to a restaurant where all of my foods came within 5-10 minutes which was definitely very 🚩🚩. however aesthetic wise, the restaurant was very pretty.
I’m honestly not sure how to rate this place — I came for the food (which, minus the dessert, was great), but the service really threw me off, especially for a Bib Gourmand spot. To start with the positives: the food was genuinely delicious, which I guess should be expected from a place with this kind of recognition. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the dessert — more on that later. When we sat down, it took quite a while for anyone to come over. Eventually a server did, and he was friendly and helpful with explaining the menu, which I appreciated. But the pacing of the meal was odd — our appetizers came out super fast (like, too fast), and then we waited a long time for the mains. Would’ve been nicer if things had been spaced out a bit more. What really bothered me, though, was an interaction I had with someone from the support staff. I asked politely for a clean plate, and he yelled at me saying the one I had was clean and didn’t need changing. I’ve never had that happen in any restaurant before, and it honestly just ruined the vibe. To top it off, I went with the Thai Tea Pudding based on the server’s recommendation, and… big miss. Didn’t enjoy it at all. So overall: amazing food (again, minus dessert), but the service and tone of the experience left a lot to be desired. I’d consider coming back for the food alone, but I hope the service becomes more consistent — and respectful — in the future.
I really wanted to love this place, but the food at the price point was just okay. Most of the food is what you can get at a Southeast Asian restaurant for 2x the price and not as much portion. If you’ve never had the cuisine, it is a good introduction in a nice ambiance. So please try if you’ve never had roti..:) We made a reservation several days in advance and chose it after seeing it on the Bib Gourmand list. The interior was really nicely decorated and super homey. Our server was really kind, and she seemed very hardworking covering multiple tables. We had the beef rendang and butter chicken dishes. Again, small and nothing special to note. If you haven’t had beef rendang or roti before though, it is indeed delicious. The standout were the prawns we had to start for sure. The salmon was also covered in too much sauce. Our drinks were just ok. The coffee old fashioned was almost undrinkable. We ended up skipping dessert.

Great menu. This was the place we looked forward to all week. We had hair in the basmati rice twice. The GM was great and offered to give us new dishes but at that point it was gross. It is a great spot, but that ruined it for us.
I ordered takeout from here last night and am extremely disappointed in the experience I had. I ordered two papaya salads -- both the same exact price and size for each -- but one was LESS than half the size of the other !! The lack of consistency feels like a scam. Not to mention the salad itself was nothing special whatsoever and had zero spice …!
