Pasjoli offers a French bistro experience with rich, layered flavors and attentive service. The Canard a la presse (pressed duck) is a main attraction. Some find it expensive and portions small, but the Basque cheesecake and burger receive high praise.

A lovely French restaurant with a cool, intimate vibe. The staff were friendly and attentive, taking the time to explain each dish we ordered and thoughtfully checking in about our dietary preferences. The space is on the darker side but adds to the overall ambiance. The burger was slightly saltier than our palate prefers, but everything else we tried was very good.
Great experience! Friendly and highly knowledgeable staff — provided a great run-down of the menu items and recommendations, super helpful for those of us with decision paralysis. Flavor profiles of the food was next level. The orange beurre blanc for the scallops was incredible and unlike anything I’ve ever even tasted for seafood. Scallops melt in the mouth and fondant potatoes cleverly cut and shaped like the scallops. Attention to detail both visually and palette-wise was really enjoyable to experience. Wife got the steak frites, which she enjoyed - and I quite enjoyed some of her fries. Delicious seasoning on the fries and the sauce au poivre was excellent. Crown jewel of the evening was the chocolate mousse. WOW. Portioned perfectly for two, rich with flavor (if you LOVE chocolate, this is a must), probably the best chocolate mousse dish I’ve ever had hands-down. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back again. What a seriously special treat! These guys are cooking!
Super cute girls dinner! Exploring the area while in town and heard great reviews, so stopped in hoping to just grab a seat at the bar but luckily they had a table! Endive Salad: anticipated a little more leafy endive but the salad was majority shaved pear. Still very good! 4/5 Maitake: take on fish and chips! Lightly battered and perfectly fried. 5/5 Steak frites: delicious! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sauce au poivre, chefs kiss. I could have another order with fries to dip! Great drinks and service! Perfect date night or girls nice. Intimate space!
After previous date nights here, we've been wanting to come and try the duck dinner. Hubby and I love to try as much as possible, so limiting ourselves to just a couple of dishes based on duck wasn't as appealing. A friend's birthday was a good excuse. The space is intimate, dark and moody, as a bistro should be. Friendly staff and service. Good cocktails and you can do special orders for mocktails as well. The four of us ordered quite a few appetizers, the duck and the steak frites with a side of green beans. The duck is large enough for 3, especially if you do order a few appetizers. The 4 of us couldn't finish the meal and had a good amount of left over food to take home. The duck dinner is a special occasion thing IMO.
Worth the hype and perfect for a special occasion (or not!). I took my partner here for his 42nd birthday as he always wanted to experience a pressed duck situation and was geeking out over it. The staff from the front of house, to our server to the chef who came out to do the pressed duck show were all in jovial spirits and super fun to be around. The food, was insane and highly recommend trying the experience out! The rest of the menu looks great too so we’ll definitely be back. The cocktails were also on point. I made a request for a birthday drink surprise for my partner and they were super responsive and helpful to make it happen seamlessly. Shout out to Kandi for being so kind and offering to take a pic for us at the end of the night!
We had such a great time at Pasjoli! The staff was very attentive. Foods and atmosphere were great. It was noisy but wasn’t too bad that we couldn’t hear each other.
Honestly, I didn’t have any expectations going in, I try to explore new places without digging too much into reviews etc. Let me start with this; What a beautiful and sweet place! The staff was also extremely attentive and kind. The food, exceptional. We didn’t end up doing the duck experience but steamed mussels were to die for, along with a fresh and warm baguette. Having lived in Paris for a few years, I could totally say Pas Joli captures that French experience here in Santa Monica. Thank you for a 10/10 experience and making our night unforgettable ✨
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in LA. Every dish we ordered — from the beef tartare and chicken liver mousse to the poutine frites, burger, and steak frites — was outstanding. Rich, layered flavors, beautiful plating, and perfect execution. The steak was cooked to perfection, the sauces were spot on, and even the fries were memorable. The atmosphere is elegant but warm, with a cozy bar and attentive service. Pasjoli manages to be upscale without feeling pretentious. I left impressed — and already planning to come back.
We came here last year specifically for the Canard a la presse and it definitely did not disappoint. Truly that is the main attraction of the menu. Chef Beran is very innovative, which is evident from his new restaurant. Pasjoli gives you the French bistro feel. The tartare is amazing, the foie de poulete is delicious, the French deviled eggs is unique. The cocktails menu is also creative. Although they lost their Michelin star in 2023, it probably gave this place the freedom to explore other culinary interests and perhaps less "stuffy" with their table service.
We came here for my birthday celebration and it was lovely. The waitstaff Jacob was very professional and attentive. Very informative.
The best basque cheesecake I ever had in my life! Also really enjoyed their burger and “contesse” cocktail. Totally recommend stopping by: nice food, great service.
The husband and I decided to try this place and sit in the secret garden. It's a nice area, but walking by the bathroom, it was a little odd. The secret garden was cute and warm with this cold weather. You know us, we always want to try as much as possible so we order the opposite from the prefix menu so we had almost everything on the menu. The drinks were out of this world wow wow wow. From everything we ordered, i could not try the liver, but my husband said it was great.

So tasty, loved every part of the meal - we had miitake mushrooms, risotto ratatoille and steak frites. Perfect size for two, we also shared a burnt basque cheesecake which was so yummy. The non alcoholic beer from Barcelona was also tasty and fresh. Service was great. They also helped us to have a calm table on the corner with extra space forma stroller.
The food is still incredible.... but what happened to the Escoffier duck? Last year it was $165 and every table in the restaurant was ordering it. Today it's called a pressed duck, it's $350 and I didn't see one table order it. It also seems like they're making a push to make the restaurant more casual: The menu is smaller, fewer words, the waiters wear t-shirts that say PJ's (why???), and there's no more tableside service. Beef tartare might be the best I've ever had. Burger & frites were incredible, worth the schlep.
I don't usually review restaurants, but I haven't seen any reviews from solo diners here, so I thought I'd chime in. I prefer dining alone, especially when trying new places, but as a woman, it can be hit or miss. Pleased to report pasjoli is a great spot to come for everything from a fantastic cocktail to a full multi-course meal. The bartenders were so lovely (shoutout Lauren and Duo, if I remember your names correctly) - they provided actually helpful menu suggestions (a rare find in LA!) and were attentive but not overbearing. tragically i wasn't too hungry, or i would've ordered more, but the beef tartare was amazingly well balanced: complex but not overwhelming, decadent but not overly rich. I'd imagine it's hard to pull off French cuisine somewhere as health-conscious as Los Angeles, so I commend the chef for executing it so well. eager to come back and try the mains/desserts!

A bit expensive but we knew that coming in. For this price there are other places I prefer, but were glad we tried it. I might go back for just a burger and red wine. I loved the small portion of French Onion Soup. It was delicious and just the right amount. Scallop preparation was tasty but scallops were a bit tough. Scallops are hard to get perfect. Potatoes Anna was special but needed just a bit of caviar to knock it out of the park .
We’d been wanting to try Pasjoli for a long time and finally made it there on Saturday night. Overall, it was good, but a bit overrated in our opinion. The biggest downside was the portion sizes. Some dishes were ridiculously small. The onion soup felt more like a kid’s portion, and the fish dish at $29 for essentially one crêpe was hard to justify. That said, there were definite highlights. The beef tartare was excellent, and the Sunday dessert was really good. We’d also heard the burger was one of the best in LA, but it was just OK, not bad, but nothing memorable enough to make us want to come back for it.
The service is incredible, and the staff members are very friendly. They even treated my little dog kindly, which made me feel very welcomed. I ordered two tomato-based dishes since I don’t usually eat meat—one was just okay, but the other was really tasty! The prices are a little on the high side, but definitely worth it for the overall experience.

Very tasty food, but service, though friendly, leaves a lot to be desired. Staff was describing the dishes as if they had just learned their lines. Vegan server described the steak frites as "steak with fries, I've not had it." Another server had to be requested to clear plates, and also prompted more than once to take our order. Nothing egregious, and a fun meal overall, but just lil' dings that add up and take away from the magic you want to feel on a night out. Beautiful space, good vibes. Recommend the steak frites and also enjoyed the scallops. Cocktails could be a tad stronger.
Absolutely delicious flavors. We had the chase open table credit which helped pay for the meal. Without that credit, the flavors weren't worth the price. Really delicious food just too expensive for the quality. If you have the money and want to spend it on this quality, I'd recommend other restaurants but it's not a bad choice.

We got the worst table, right by the entrance and in the middle of the “activity” almost stuck at the bar meaning the waiter kept passing by Definitely not the best service. The baked camembert has nothing to do with a “real” one It was barely warm with honey on the side A real baked camembert is supposed to be hot, melted and have the honey not on the side but almost as a topping. I expected more from a French cuisine restaurant.
Everything was too salty. I got the dry-aged ribeye (medium rare), but it was super tough with lots of sinew and had a weird flavor — not the good kind of dry-aged aroma. Honestly feels like they used heavy seasoning just to cover that up. Totally not worth the price, and I can see why they lost their Michelin star.
