Absolutely loved my experience at this Korean AYCE BBQ spot! The price is good for the wide selection they offer. The service is good and they take orders pretty promptly. My favorites are the beef brisket and short rib - flavorful and tender, definite must-tries! And to top it off, the Kimchi fried rice at the end was the perfect way to conclude the feast. Highly recommend!
The food here is to die for. Definitely one of the best KBBQ spots in LA. All meats and dishes came out pretty fast, staff were friendly, and they use a stone grill like the OGs, not the steel grills. Everything was crazy good! Absolutely get the Kimchi fried rice at the end after all the meat grilling is done. They cook it on your stone grill and the crispy rice at the bottom is 💯🙌🏻! Although parking was very limited and we had to park a couple of blocks away. Make sure your whole party is there before going in as they require everyone to be present.
This Korean BBQ place is amazing! The portions are generous, and the quality of the meat is excellent. The waiter was great—even though he had a hoarse voice and could barely talk, he still provided excellent service. The dishes came out quickly, and he even helped us grill the meat. Highly recommend this place!

I came here based on a strong recommendation from my Korean friends. I visited on a Monday for lunch, but since it was a holiday, they charged the dinner price of $44 per person, which is higher than many other KBBQ places. The staff were very friendly and attentive, helping grill the meat and frequently cleaning the stone pan with radish to prevent burnt seasoning. The salad was good, and most of the meats were fresh. However, the octopus was not fresh. Overall, great service and cleanliness, but the price is high.
Meats and sides were very tasty and plentiful! No need to do anything except eat and drink because the wait staff cooks at your table and brings everything to you. Food is also cooked in stone plate and makes everything taste better! Don’t forget to ask for Kim chi fried rice at end of meal. You can make ‘reservations’ for six or more but it only puts you at top of list when you get there and you need to make sure all people are there (they count.)
This is my favorite AYCE K BBQ place I have been to. I went with my girlfriend and we got several different meats and dishes and nothing disappointed. All high quality meat, good appetizers, and great service. They cook the food for you at this restaurant which is nice. Prices are very competitive compared to other AYCE K BBQ, but this place has better food than any other place I’ve tried. I’d say I’ve tried about 20 different K BBQ places between Los Angeles and Orange County area. We waited a couple minutes for a table, but nothing too bad. It was around 3:30 PM when we waited about 10 minutes which just shows the restaurant is always busy, which just is a tell all for how great it is. Would highly recommend it. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. The only “down side” which is so minuscule is that they didn’t have macaroni salad which at some other K BBQ they have. They have street parking for a couple dollars and then they have valet as well for $5. Also have other parking garages nearby if everything is full. Pretty easy to find parking, but you’ll probably need to spend a few dollars. This was my first time coming, but I’ll definitely be a regular customer going forward. Overall rating: 9.5/10
I love the couple of AYCE KBBQ spots up here near my home base, but K-Town (Ktow adjacent?) KBBQ is a whole different beast. This place was sooo good. Three of us came a little bit after open on a sunday and we got straight into it. Beef belly, beef bulgogi, and brisket mostly, some pork belly too. The rice, kimchi, and Ssamjang was flowing as the meat came off the stone, and in a matter of an hour we where all totally stuffed. The atmosphere is great and by the time we left it was already getting fuller, slightly smoky, and so perfect with all the smells and clattering dishes. I wish they had had more flavors of Maekgolli but I was delighted to finally try it, sooo good with the fatty meats and spicy sour flavors of the side dishes. The staff is way more active than other KBBQ places up here, adding meat, flipping, turning, adjusting the stove, and if this is the default for Ktown KBBQ then a I love it and wished it was done like this everywhere.. it felt like they where trying to give us more and more as gracious hosts versus the more passive approach at other KBBQ places I've been to outside LA. Ask for more of any side dish or sauce and it's there in seconds, not minutes, incredible staff. The quality and taste of everything just like the service was exceptional, and you pay accordingly for it... It's not cheap. But I could easily come here solo and essentially eat one incredible giant meal for the day with drinks for like 50 bucks and feel sooo good until the next day. Go here, it's so bomb.
For an AYCE experience, Hae Jang Chon was absolutely immaculate. The whole process was smooth — we got seated quickly and were able to start ordering delicious meats right away. The kalbi is a must-try! Service was top-notch, with staff frequently checking on the grill and making sure we had everything we needed. They’re also very service-animal friendly, even providing a separate entrance for us. Overall, a wonderful and memorable experience.
Okay so I guess I found my new favorite AYCE KBBQ spot and I'm mad cause I can't be there everyday to enjoy what was the best KBBQ I've ever had, but I will be back... often! What can I say, the proteins were top notch, and the side dishes may have been the star of the show, not to mention the best bulgogi meat I've ever had. We came in around 10:00pm on a busy Saturday night and we were a party of 7 so a 35 minute wait really wasn't bad. The place is on the smaller end of any other KBBQ spots I've been to, so it's a bit more cramped for bigger parties. They have this stone grill and clean it with shredded radishes which is unlike another spot I've been to. Do your self a favor, pay extra compared to other spots, but experience this culinary delicacy. Please note you may be lucky to find street parking or else its valet since it's in a small strip mall.
Slightly expensive for a KBBQ but the meat quality and service (refilling of sides and water; cutting up our meat) was fantastic. They sat 11 of us, though they don’t guarantee such large tables even if you call before hand.
Highly recommend! We LOVED the selection of meats and the huge portions! The sauces and banchan were good. Bustling atmosphere, service was great. The staff was kind, attentive and skillfully handled the grilling. It was such an enjoyable experience. 🙌🏼 Just a couple of things to consider when planning to visit. - Make a reservation. We waited for about 45 minutes for a table for two on a Sunday evening, BUT once you are seated, things move very fast, and we were grilling in no time! - Valet parking is available. It’s $5 if you pay by cash, $6 if using Venmo. A good option to have, as parking can be tricky.
Our server Summer was very kind and was working like a machine! We never were wanting anything before she was cooking the next batch or asking us for our next order. It was a really nice first experience for KBBQ with a hot stone plate.

Hae Jang Chon has been one of my main go-to spots for AYCE KBBQ in the Koreatown area of Los Angeles for many years now - dating back to my college days! It remains one of my favorite options to this day, and I recently had another great dinner here during a visit! Be aware that there will likely be a wait when you arrive, especially on a weekend night! They call out names that have been added to a list in the restaurant as tables become available, so be sure to stay nearby! Once inside and seated, however, I've always loved the warm and welcoming feel of the dining space. It's a bit of a squeeze between tables, but spacious enough that it never feels uncomfortable. The KBBQ itself here is GREAT - premium cuts of meat that always cook very well. I also love some of the side items, such as the corn cheese and steamed egg bowl, always bubbling hot and super soothing going down. I also appreciate that the service here is efficient while still being attentive - they don't hover, but will come by and help you out with cooking the meats or add some char to the top of items like the corn cheese. For dinner, the AYCE is currently around $43.99. Considering the quality and the enjoyability of the experience, I find it to be a reasonably affordable price. I love regularly visiting Hae Jang Chon, and I highly recommend!

Went with a large group and they accommodated us very well. Very happy with the quality and variety of the meats available. Service was very attentive and friendly. Would definitely go here again and do recommend making a reservation because it helped cut our wait time. You do have to have your full party present to be seated
Excellent AYCE KBBQ like $45/person comes with a variety of meats, some marinated, and plentiful delicious side dishes. Outstanding service above all else, hands down. They are not short on staff, and everyone is fantastic. They grill your food for you, so you don’t have to worry about it. Parking is difficult. I think they offer valet. I parked a few blocks away and walked.
Good selection of Korean side dishes! Came here on Thursday around 2 pm and there was no wait. You get 4 dips to choose from which is nice. Their specialty is the marinaded squid and they only use USDA choice meats. Service is really great when we visited and the staff helped us flip the meats and clean the pan after each round. I found the squid to not be as chewy as I expect but the beef and pork was excellent.The meat was super tender! The pork shoulder is my favourite! It’s a good balance between fat and meat and paired with the pickled radish is perfect!!

A solid and authentic Korean BBQ spot. The pork dishes turned out to be our family’s favorite. I’d recommend visiting on a weekday, as Friday evenings get very busy. When we went on a Friday night, the service felt a bit rushed since our waitress was handling multiple tables at once. Also, we left smelling strongly of BBQ afterward, so the ventilation could definitely be improved.
Scouted out a kbbq place and decided to come here based on price and what meats were available. We got there as soon as they opened at 11 and were seated right away after they made up our table. Parking is $3, valet. We were there on a weekday so lunch was $37.99 a person for meats such as the beef short ribs, beef rib finger, and prime chuck among others. the servers will cook for you unless you ask to cook for yourself. Service is great, they refill your waters on the regular and they Their meats are fresh and their portions are decent sized. They have the usual sides: kimchi, spinach, spicy cucumber, spicy bean sprouts and potato salad. You can ask for other sides such as cheese corn, salad, steamed egg, soybean paste soup, radish wraps, etc. You can also ask for garlic and onions. I tried their soybean paste soup and it was probably the best I've tasted outside of when I make it at home - a smooth texture with cut up potatoes and zucchini. It's just really hot when it came out so next time I'd order it sooner than at the end of the meal. I can see this place being packed so even though there's a few benches outside, I'd sit at the coffee shop a few doors down if you've got an hour long wait.

October 2025: came here because my BF and I love Kyochan next door and the reviews looked good. We showed up for a late night dinner date and were seated fairly quickly. Although the waitress was attentive she seemed to have no interest in friendly chat or making us feel welcome. The cast iron grill looked somewhat run down. There wasn't a large variety of side dishes as are typical for most KBBQ places and there was absolutely no flavor to any of the meats. Out of all of the cuts we tried (we went through all of them) the one that was most enjoyable was the ribeye. We probably wouldn't come back but hope this review helps with improvements.
Food: The food itself was very basic and nothing extraordinary, especially for an AYCE Korean BBQ spot in Koreatown where competition is high. The only notable difference compared to most AYCE places is that they cook the meat for you, which some may appreciate. Flavor-wise though, nothing stood out or justified the hype or the wait. Service: This is the primary reason for the one-star review. Service from Sally and Sarah was extremely poor. Sally in particular seemed very unhappy to be there—she was nonverbal, avoided eye contact, and provided little to no communication. When we asked for simple things like more rice, she would nod but then never return with it. It felt dismissive and frustrating. Sarah eventually came around toward the end of the meal and provided better service, but the overall experience had already been soured. Poor service can ruin a meal, and unfortunately that’s exactly what happened here. Ambiance: The restaurant was very crowded with a long wait time. Parking is also a major issue in the area, adding to the inconvenience.
