Came with my friend for Dine LA. Great food, great drinks! We ate inside because we wanted to be able to see the art, but the outside patio looked really beautiful too. I love that they carry good port wine.
I absolutely loved everything about this restaurant! The food was incredible, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to enjoy a meal. The waiter was attentive, friendly, and truly made the experience top-notch. This is definitely a five-star restaurant—I can’t wait to come back!
I passed by this restaurant for years. We thought it was an expensive high end restaurant as we always saw exotic cars at the valet. But then we tried it. The price on their food and drinks was on par with other new restaurant $$-$$$. And I love the outdoor patio seating next to the manmade waterfall and stream (off for water conservation.) It's a large courtyard within the old Executive Tower. Il Moro is very generous with the outdoor patio heaters. This is a local favorite for the older generation. Maybe its because I always have a 6pm dinner reservation. As we leave, we see younger couples and groups. They have a private room that can fit a party of 10-12. It's really nice: All glass overlooking the main dining room and courtyard. Great classy private room. The calamari is my favorite. And I always get the lamb chops when available. That reduction sauce is amazing. However, as with the current trend, the price went up and the portions are smaller. All the other dishes were really good. Not super amazing and fabulous, but consistent and tasty for the price range. Good service too. Update: 2/16/2024. Tonight I order the seafood linguine. Wow, it was packed with seafood. The fresh grilled fish filets were excellent. Thr clams and mussels were plentiful and the linguine was cooked perfectly (al dante.) The seafood broth was a little too salty to drink from but it flavored the linguine and seafood perfectly. I would order again. Also, tonight, the calamari was "too oily." Its usually delicately battered and comes out hot and crispy. But tonight, it was just too oily for us to finish. When the waiter, "Baron" asked if it was satisfactory, i had to tell him the truth. He later comped our tiramisu dessert. That is a good example of good service. We will come back again
We've been here lots of time (over 20 times). The food is always great, and the staff are great too. Plenty of options for everyone. (vegetarians, meat eaters and kids). We recently went for DineLA For a fixed price you get three courses. It gives an option to try all the foods. The serving was pretty big. Plenty of street parking, and there is paid parking. We have the food to be favourful.
Delicious food, highly recommend. I've been here multiple times and each time the food is consistently great. Service is attentive and friendly. Atmosphere is spacious and clean, with indoor and outdoor seating with heat lamps. Street parking available, however I have been only for dinner and have heard the place is more filled for lunch. The entrance is on the small side, but really opens up as you walk in, look for the awning. The short rib is always a favorite, and the risotto porcini was so so good, prob best I've ever had. Time and love put into all their dishes, especially the tagliatelle bolognese whose sauce cooks for 6 hours. Gluten free options available. Always listen to the specials and save room for dessert. Buon Appetito, piatto pulito. 😋
A foodie level Italian restaurant recommended by an Italian colleague: calamari is crispy outside and tender inside; beef short ribs are tender and flavorful; seafood is fresh and abundant; veggie soup doesn’t look appealing but taste good and is perfect for a cool winter nigh on the patio. The only disappointment is Tiramisu because the cream/cake ratio is too high for me. Will definitely return!
Great food and service. Our son loves their bolognese sauce - comfort food for him! All of the food is wonderful. Not very visible from the main traffic on Olympic, but a hidden gem. Easy parking. Has a nice room for private parties and an outdoor patio.
Great restaurant. Kind of a hidden gem. I was a little worried about traveling to Los Angeles for a brunch however it was unfounded. Felt very safe! Food and service was amazing!
I love this place. It’s in my neighborhood and it’s like a hidden gem. I had one of the best lamb chops in my life. The food is great and the service as well.
AMAZING food, service, and timely order in which food was served. Very authentic Italian food, perfect balance of tart and creaminess. We got the bone in NY strip special as well as the sole filet. Starter was buratta and we ended with the chocolate tart. The house dessert wine was delicious… will be back for sure. Andres, our server was amazing.
Update: 7/12/19 Came with a group of friends to try their dinner menu for Dine LA. Wonderful!!! Food was delicious as always. We had the Calamari, burrata with prosciutto, lamb chops with sautéed veggies, salmon with Prosecco /peppercorn sauce with sautéed veggies, apple cake with vanilla sauce, fresh berries and vanilla ice cream. Will need to come back and try other menu items! We come here often not only for the delicious foods and desserts but the wonderful hostess, Lucy, and waiters. They always greet us with a warm smile and make us feel like we are part of their family. The chef, Gaetano, is a master at his craft. He prepares dishes with great flavor and presentation. We haven't tasted a dish we didn't like. We look forward to his next creation!

Authentic Italian food with great service and simple menu, but all fresh and delicious! Parking was good at lunch, but no valet. Lots of lunch specials and relatively busy at a late lunch (1 pm)
The food was amazing, especially the lamb. Andres was our server and took very good care of us. Will return
Il Moro never disappoints! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and elegant without being stuffy. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome. The food was outstanding — fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, and perfectly balanced flavors. The pasta tasted homemade, the seafood was cooked to perfection, and the wine selection complemented everything wonderfully. We especially loved the outdoor patio — cozy and perfect for a relaxed evening. It’s clear that the team here takes real pride in what they do.
Lovely evening at Il Moro. The lentil soup was WONDERFUL. Hard to see what we were eating as it's quite dark outside at night but Beet Salad was tasty. The running stream and plants were romantic. I LOVED the art, especially the pieces that made it clear ALL are welcomed and loved here. I will be back. Oh I enjoyed the warm rolls with oil and balsamic vinegar too!!
Such a gem of a restaurant! After my first experience eating at Il Moro, my biggest takeaway was that these people truly care about guest experience. Everything felt so beautiful and intentional, from the design to the plating to the service. My favorites are the corn ravioli and the rigatoni. There are several vegetarian options here too! The dessert is also to die for. I got to speak to one of the owners who was so kind and attentive. She told me about the history of this place and it made me even more of a fan. I was so impressed that I decided to have my birthday here recently and there were absolutely no regrets. From my understanding they can also host bigger events. I already can’t wait to come back and try everything else on the menu. I highly recommend.
So impressed with this place. The food was excellent, but the service was truly exceptional. Andres, our server, was absolutely amazing! He was kind, attentive, and so much fun. He truly made our experience!

We had a wonderful meal here with excellent service from Andres and staff! So welcoming, attentive, delicious food and ambiance. Martinis were excellent! Would definitely come back.
Celebrated my birthday in LA (we are from San Diego) - Andres and Szabo made our night so very special and perfect! Service personalized and above and beyond! Our table was perfect outdoors next to the water feature. 💕
Il Moro is tucked in and you may miss it if you're not looking for it, but it is worth the find. Great Italian that is fresh and delicious, great service, and it also has a nice patio with a waterfall and heat lamps at night. The bread is fresh baked and if you're not careful you will fill up on that before your entree arrives. Don't forget to ask for the specials-- they don't have them on a printed menu but the servers can give you a detailed list, with everything from a crab and lobster bisque to lamb chops. If you enjoy art, the restaurant also proudly displays art by local artists that you can buy if you are so inclined. They rotate artists and paintings but I've found all the paintings add to the ambiance of the restaurant.

I rarely give a 5. 5 is extraordinary, not just top 20%. I like this place a lot, go about monthly and have had my last two birthday parties there. New ownership by former employee has maintained the standards and feel of the place. At the parties, the attention to detail and personalized service were top drawer and would get a 5.

It was my first time here and we came for the Mother's Day special menu. $69 for a pre-picked menu for adults and $29 for the same pre-picked menu for my child who is 12 and under. So the appetizers were the best part of our experience. I had the tomato soup and it was my favorite part of the whole night! My Mom had the artichoke salad which she enjoyed and my son had the meatballs which he also really enjoyed. Then we got our entrees. I got the sole with a side of asparagus, my Mom got the bowtie salmon alfredo and my son got the meat lasagna. So I rate my entree 3 stars. The sole was swimming in butter that had somehow already hardened when it got to me. The asparagus would have been beautiful if it was just cooked with some salt and pepper. It came drenched in Jack cheese, which sounds delicious but it was lacking flavor for me. So I ate it but would not order it again. My mom had a similar experience with her entree, she said it lacked flavor and felt super fatty at the same time. My son did not like the lasagna at all and we had to send it back and thankfully they gave us more meatballs (my Mom and I each tried a tiny bite of the lasagna and it did have a weird flavor that I couldnt put my finger on. The after taste was the nail in the coffin, so there was merit behind him sending it back) and lastly the dessert I would give 4 stars. I ordered a chocolate flourless tarte covered in powdered sugar which was quite delightful. My mom and son each ordered the lemon cheesecake with strawberry drizzle sauce and there again, was a weird aftertaste when eating the cheesecake. Overall, the experience was super pleasant. The waiter and hostess could not have been nicer! The hostess made it a point to stop and char with my son which he enjoyed and she even offered to take pictures of all of us which was super sweet of her. Final take: I wish I would have ordered the lamb chops for the main entree because the woman next to me enjoyed them so loudly that I was super jealous. Lol! I would try this again on a night where the menu was not limited to give a true review. But for tonight, this is how I felt.
