Exvellent place! I had a fish dish which was cooked just perfectly with the fish super tender. The vibe is nice, music is chill, the staff are super kind. Wishing this place many many more years of business and success.
I can’t believe it took me two and a half years of living in DTLA to try this place. It is really delicious and the food is made from love. (Owner said it’s his grandmas recipes) 🥰 Our favorite items were the chaufa (similar to fried rice), the CHICKEN omg so yummy, and I’m always a sucker for plantains. Also they have this green jalapeño sauce that goes well with everything. I’ve been craving this place every day since I had it last week. Definitely recommend as it is a hidden gem in DTLA. Don’t even waste your time at the chipotle next door
Hands down best Peruvian chain in LA. Lomo saltado with beef is really worth trying for anyone who has never had Peruvian food or loves Peruvian food. You wont be disappointed its like smashing into a brick wall of flavor one large portion will he having you asking for more! Its that GOOD!
We stumbled upon this gem tonight and it was amazing! The staff was so friendly and informative. We ordered the Lomo Saltado with garlic rice and the 1/2 chicken with sautéed onions and beans. To drink we enjoyed each of the house made beverages. I can’t remember the name, but my favorite is made from purple corn. Wow! So refreshing and yet the spices remind you of Wintertime. The other is passion fruit. Everything was sooooo delicious. I can’t wait to come back and try everything else! We even bought a 2liter of Inka Cola to take home!!
In the 90s I used to go to El Pollo Inka on Artesia Blvd. Now I walk to Inka Wasi a block away, owned by the daughter & son in law of EPI’s founders, so a 3 generation relationship over food 😁. Miguel and the Kids (privacy sake not mentioning by name) and warm hearted family owned feeling makes one want more of Miguel and his family as neighbors. Faceless corporate restaurants don’t fit rock n’ roll LA. Inka Wasi is native hip
Better then the other more established Peruvian spots definitely slept on Gem in my opinion
stopped by here for a quick meal and i was blown away!! i got the rotisserie chicken with rice and beans as a side and the flavors were soo yummy!! the chicken was cooked perfectly and the green sauce was the perfect complement with it. the prices are also pretty great for the amount of food you get. i definitely will be eating here more often and am excited to try different dishes next time i go!
The staff are so friendly. It’s a family owned restaurant. I met the daughter working up the register. Amazing service and the platters are great portions for the price! Went with my GF & she gives it her seal of approval as an LA native & a Peruvian!
Incredible food and service! Angelica is such a charming young lady. I appreciated her food suggestions and sharing the story behind Inka Wasi. I had the Lomo Saltado that came with chicken soup. Delicious! Can’t wait to try the flan and ceviche is next on my list. I will definitely be going again.
Incredible Peruvian food! It was so good I ate here everyday of my short trip. We tried a lot of the menu over a few days. Highlights were beef lomo saltado, the soup, chicken fried rice, the salads were refreshing, and the green hot sauce is amazing!!! Wish it was bottled so o could’ve taken some home either way me.
*They have wireless chargers on the tables I live across the street from this place & pass it daily on my way to work. I was two buttons from ordering Caveman on Postmates when I thought about this place across the street from me. Let me tell you zero disappointment. Not only was the chicken juicy but they gave me way more food and at a better price than my usual spot. I can’t say the staff were extremely friendly to me because I ordered my stuff to go. But I saw they way they interacted with other guest and looked like they have that you’re a guest in my house treatment. Make sure you try the garlic rice is the perfect amount of garlic. Also get at least a 1/2 chicken if not you’ll regret it once you taste how juicy it is and all those amazing flavors pour out of the chicken. Easy place to miss but if you open the door you’ll be glad you did! The food here is amazing though
Clean and neat dining room. Friendly staff. The papa rellena was great! Chunky meat filling with olives, spicy dipping sauce. Picarones were a pleasant surprise: crispy outside, warm gooey inside, and mildly sweet syrup.
this place was very delicious and I will come back soon! it was my first time having Peruvian food, and the proper names slip my mind (sorry) but I really liked the green noodles with beef and the cow heart skewers my date got. highly recommend, the servers were kind enough to give us two portions of soup as well!
If you’re craving a burst of flavor, Inka Wasi is the place to be! I recently visited with some friends from the office, and we had a fantastic experience. The restaurant offered us great seating, and we were pleasantly surprised with complimentary chicken soup, which was a nice touch. I ordered the Anticuchos Chicken, which came with three perfectly grilled skewers. The flavor and spice were delicious—just right for my palate as an Indian! Our server was friendly, polite, and incredibly patient while we decided on our orders. He even helped me split the bill with my friend, which made everything easier. Overall, a wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend Inka Wasi for anyone looking for flavorful Peruvian food!
Great place for a quick lunch! The server was very friendly and introduced several dishes for me. I got a Picante carne. It comes with a soup. I also got a chicha morada.
INCREDIBLE food! Fresh, flavorful, delicious! We got pollo a la brasa but we heard a lot of people ordering various saltado dishes and they also looked incredible. Honestly you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Picarones are a MUST don’t even question it, order them! Will absolutely be coming back
Do you want to dine @ INKA WASi DTLA and eat their oh-so-fine-blow-your-tastebuds-and-mind food from Peru? Yes, yes you do. We were strolling the area looking for a perfect pre-concert meal on a Friday night. The line was not long. The wait for the food when ordered was just right. As was the soup we supped on while we waited. My regrets about this review is I don’t know the names of the food and delicious delicacies we had. But they were darn delightful. Re: the soup? Add the hot sauce! We followed the soup with what can be seen in the pic here as a potato stuffed with meat and seemingly fried to just the right crisp. We split Peruvian rotisserie chicken, with beans and rice. And more of the special sauce… Yeah, INKA WASi DTLA is da boss! And you’ll be treated right by all the fine folks who work there with love, soul, and Peruvian pride. Do take this restaurant ride!
Really good Peruvian Food. I had the fried rice with shrimp. Ooooohhhhweeee! It was sooooo good! You get a complimentary soup with each meal. I will be back to try their rotisserie chicken.
Great place for lunch. I stopped in and had the Lomo Saltado. It was very fresh and good. The plate came with rice and a small bowl of soup. Everything was excellent The restroom was also very clean.
Delicious food! Especially the desserts 🍮! A great place to come and enjoy a bite to eat. Thank you for a wonderful experience 🤗

Amazing Peruvian food! The Lomo Saltado was tender and full of flavor, and the ceviche tasted incredibly fresh. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Everything came out quickly, and the portions were generous. A great spot in Downtown LA, I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it!

Great Peruvian food at decent prices. Their fries are crunchy with the Saltado which makes the dish for me better than the usual soggy fries. I wish the green sauce was spicier but that's just me. All in all this is in my top 5 restaurants so far. If they added a bolillo to their dishes then it'd be a perfect 5/5.
We were looking for a place to eat. We ran into this little place. The service was very kind and friendly. Food was good. They were very busy tonight, so I'm guessing that is why some of my order came out. They had forgotten my fries but they were very nice to make sure I walked out of there satisfied with their service. I recommend the food here.
This small place across from Macy’s was a nice find and don’t let the fast food appearance fool you. The food was authentic and filled with flavor. I had their thin steak with egg and fried plantations which was good. I also tried the ceviche which was very good and they provide a spicy green sauce to add to your dishes. Meal with apetz and main plate was about $40.
I have to agree with most of the other reviews I saw on here from Peruvians. I was really hoping to like this restaurant and have a good Peruvian restaurant near where I stay when I go to LA. This is not it. The flavours were really lacking in everything I had. I ordered the Chicken Saltado and a Chicha Morada. I was brought a soup first on the house but it didn't really have much flavour of anything. The Chicha was really watered down even though it didn't have any ice. It tasted like the used powder mix and put too much water in, not like it was made using purple maze like it should be. The saltado once again didn't really have much taste and while I was hoping the spicy sauce they brought me would help, the sauce was barely spicy and (the running theme here) didn't have flavour. I expect a spicy Peruvian sauce to not just be spicy, but to bring flavour to a dish. I'm not sure if they're trying to appeal to a more diverse palate and play it safe or if it's because of costs but everything I had was just lackluster.
Come prepared for a priceless menù $4.50 Can of Inca Kola and basic dishes in the $20s … beans and other sides are $5.00 … got the chicken (very small chicken breast) the buy the tiniest chickens .. seasoning was basic.. Basically a basic place with not the best flavor, small portions and high prices. The sure thing is that you will overspend on your meal .. NO THANK YOU😏
I ordered takeout a couple times so I've tried a few different dishes here. The pollo a la brasa is pretty good. Lomo saltado was decent. The tallarin de carne was not good at all unfortunately. The noodles were overcooked and the dish was not seasoned well. I was very disappointed by it and do not think it was worth the money. There was also a side soup that came with the entree that was not seasoned well either.
Very Cute Managers. However, been to different places in regards to Peruvian cuisine. Why did your cooks give me headache today? Don't want me as a customer? It happened to me in Queens NY, and I know when I am not wanted. What did you put? Try to give me a stroke?

My friend and I are Peruvian and were visiting LA and of course had to stop at a Peruvian restaurant. We shared a ceviche and pollo a la brasa. Food was ok, it lacked flavor. I was really surprised because the reviews say how good food was but that was not our experience. We were disappointed.
Not authentic Peruvian food. Lacking flavor and over price. Service was nice but not worth the money. Sadly no Peruvian cooks.
They forgot to pack part of my meal and i have to call them and ask for a refund. Mistakes happen so i let it go. Then i start to eat my chicken and it is so salty and over cooked that it is inedible. So now i have no lunch and i blew $30 on nothing.
I will always pick a lomo saltado over anything else we walked in this restaurant with out hesitation. First impressions is it was high in price but it is downtown LA so .. the manager added an auditor de pollo to our order for what I’m greatful because it was only enjoyable thing. Lomo saltado was tough and dry not traditional potatoes this are burned French fries. The saddest part is that they saw we didn’t enjoy the food and after asking why was lomo saltado tough and dry they didn’t offer to fix or replace… the picarones as you can see in pictures burned. It’s my first time trying those so I’m not sure it thats how they supposed to be and taste. terrible experience. I should have known when rest was empty.
Very small and little shrimps, over grilled. This restaurant is located near 7th street and Grand Avenue. Parking is not easy and you have to pay around 15 dollars. I ordered an entry of Garlic shrimp and I looked the picture on the display screen, the shimp was very small but I still wanted to give it a try. This plate costed me about 20 dollars. It did have very small and under 10 pieces of over grilled dry shrimps. I was very disappointed about this over charged shrimp plate. The rice was old and dry and getting hard. The salad was fresh. The best thing was the small cup of chicken soup, it was served before the shrimp plate. Except the food was not in best quality and quantity, this restaurant was relatively clean. It was cozy with a colorful picture on the wall. I really don't know if I should come back here again.
I found this place on Google while searching for Peruvian food in downtown Los Angeles. I was craving for which I hope would be authentic Peruvian cuisine ( specially since I saw a rating of 4.4 and good reviews. So I was very eager to visit this place while doing some business in the Jewelry district.) Unfortunately I did not enjoy what I ordered. One of the national dishes of Peru is ceviche for which the country takes pride of this. One would think that they would make something authentic, but this was just horrible. I I didn't even come with high expectations, so just to be clear I don't want to have the owner or manager think that I was expecting a Gaston Acurio or something from Rosa Nautica. Just a proper ceviche is all I wanted. Everything tasted bland, no seasoning at all. As a matter of fact, the young cook Who I saw working by himself in the kitchen most likely used frozen cooked shrimp and cheap tilapia for which he only squeezed a lemon and chopped up some onions. Look at the picture, since when is ceviche served with boiled potatoes? Are you serious? Where are the yams ( los camotes?!) or even yucca? This place is perfect for those that don't know anything about Peruvian dishes. I can only comment on what I ordered. There are many of other dishes that hopefully taste better,. I do see that there were quite a few patrons, perhaps the pollo a la brasa and chaufita and lomito is a better choice. I don't come to Los Angeles often, so I left very disappointed. I will not return. On the positive side, it does look like a clean restaurant and the staff behind the counter who happen to be Brazilians were very friendly. But one comes for the food not for the smiles. I would suggest training the young lad in the kitchen on how to make a better dish. Gracias. :)

I normally don’t leave reviews but as a fellow Peruvian, this establishment ain’t it. The food has no taste at all, it felt like I was eating cardboard. The lomo saltado beef was one of the lowest cuts of beef and it lacked seasoning. The rice was super dry as well and felt like they microwaved it. They say they have fresh ingredients and that it’s imported from Peru but I think that’s not true. This place feels like a fast food place and it’s not authentic at all. If you’re looking for real Peruvian food, you might as well go somewhere else.
You know, for growing up in a Peruvian household and eating Peruvian food all of my life, this really has to be low quality. For the prices they charge they should really jam up their game. I ordered the “tallarin saltado de camarones” but the waiter got my order wrong and gave me “camarón saltado”. It was cold, fries were soggy, it tasted like dish soap. Shrimp was literally chopped in half. That saying, they’re trying to save money. Also, the rice was mushy. I should’ve gone to chick-fil-a better. For 18 bucks, they have better quality food.
No star bad food no customer service everything bad + my food was and they put 12 dollars tip ridiculous 😑
They canceled my order at the last minute that I had scheduled hours ahead of time for a small gathering. Didn’t bother calling me to apologize or explain why. Not great service wise. Edited to take into consideration response from owner: I placed the order 3-4 hours ahead of requested delivery time. You should have turned off accepting orders if you were at capacity. I sent the order in around 1-2pm with a delivery time of 5:30-6pm. Ample time for your staff to plan. Rejection of delivery happened at 4:45pm. Grateful for Rostys who was able to fulfill my order last minute. Go to Rostys for amazing Peruvian food and the BEST ceviche.
I did not like it, chicken did not taste fresh and neither did the rice. Soup was not that good either. Will not come back. All staff were nice friendly though but food needs improvement.
Food is fine. The atmosphere is disappointing. I was here on a Friday night and have many friends from Peru and they are very friendly people. But the employees working the night shift here were very immature and rude. Peruvian culture is amazing so jt is really dosheartening to see it represented so badly in the United States. These employees seem like they require a manager to be keeping things professional
