Went to The Lonely Oyster for dinner with a friend and had a great experience! We tried three different types of oysters, each incredibly fresh and served with a delicious house-made sauce that complemented them perfectly. I also had the seafood chowder, which was flavorful and comforting, and a refreshing ginger drink that tied everything together nicely. The vibe was cozy and the service was great. The only minor downside was parking, it took a while to find a spot, so definitely plan ahead. But once you’re inside, it’s totally worth it. If you’re lucky with parking, the evening will be even better. Highly recommend for seafood lovers!
After watching the 4th of July fireworks at Echo Park with our kids, we were starving—and everything was closed. The Lonely Oyster was the only spot still open, and they welcomed us in like family. The owner was incredibly kind, and our server, Hellyeah (spelled incorrectly, sorry), made sure we had everything we needed. We ordered the clam chowder, fries, burger, oysters, and some great beer. Everything was immaculate—but the oysters especially were a standout. We highly recommend them, and honestly, everything on the menu. Thank you for saving our night and treating us. Whenever we're back in LA, we'll definitely be back!
The freshest seafood in LA can be found right here at the Lonely Oyster in Echo Park. They have oysters flown in straight from Canada and Washington and a rotating menu of expertly crafted dishes, every bite feels like a trip to the coast. The new Chef Mazen has elevated the menu, bringing bold flavors and fresh takes on classic seafood favorites. And let’s not forget the drinks handcrafted by the mixologist Philip and he hands down know exactly what he’s doing. Unique drink selections and flavors paired perfectly together and our entire party enjoy every moment of it. Would love to see them do hosted pairings that highlight their unique menu with drinks that speak to one another. This has been added as one of our favorite place to dine-in at.
Awesome spot! Open late, and the staff on the late shift are super friendly. The girl working the tables at night is amazing—she took great care of me and my girlfriend one night, and then of just me on another visit! It’s rare to see that kind of attitude late at night in a city like this. There was even an older lady being a bit too loud, and she handled it so professionally! The guy behind the bar had excellent taste in music, and my martinis were spot on. The food was fantastic both times I visited. Highly recommend this place!
Truly a 5 star establishment - from the amazing menu selection and delicious beverages (definitely trying the martini that comes with a caviar bump next time), appetizer selection, food quality and amazing service all available on a Tuesday night at 11pm (and until 2pm) I was truly a 5 star experience. Comforting and delicious restaurant, you must go. If this post doesn’t convince you their instagram photos will!!
Unbelievable that this place isn’t packed late night on a Friday. Ditch LA and come to Deep Ellum in Dallas. Cocktails are great, one of the best Bloody Mary I’ve ever had. Salmon crudo and oysters were excellent with delicious sauces. Glad we came across this place, definitely a favorite.
Absolutely delicious and special, transported to the east coast, luxurious indulgent but still casual. Great service. Lobster trio unmatched.
Great selection of Oysters, attentive staff and drinks that aren’t perfect yet (but giving them a pass since the restaurant just opened). We walked in without a reservation on Friday night around 5:30pm. No wait for a table but it started to get more crowded around 6:30. The Oysters and appetizers came right away, but main course took longer. Branzino Lebanese style was tasty. Definitely coming back!
One of the best seafood chowders I’ve ever had. Each bite had plenty of seafood in it and for being a creamy and chunky soup, it didn’t feel overly heavy. Only got the chowder, but the bowl and bread was the perfect amount for a nice lunch. Also recommend the housemade Squirt for a non-alcoholic option, super tasty and tasted like more of a refreshing grapefruit spritzer than a soda. It wasn’t super busy mid-afternoon, but I still felt the service was quick and everyone working was very kind. Definitely on the pricier side, but seems to be worth it. If you’re a seafood connoisseur, highlyyy recommend making a stop here.

Oysters here are really good, so are the drinks. More expensive than I expected it to be. Appetizers and starters run around $15-25 Entrees are around $30-50 Cocktails around $18-23 Portions aren’t huge and you will probably be a little hungry afterwards. The steak is really good, I’d request the sauce on the side. Oysters are fresh and if you come after 10pm they are half the price. Otherwise I think it was $6 an oyster 😱 The fries with old bay are good. Calamari was delicious. The risotto I would pay, it just wasn’t what I expected and sweeter. The salmon in it was really good. Gem Caesar salad I would pass, I felt it was a bid bland. Seafood pasta was great and they have a good amount of mussels and clams. The place is really dark and parking is a pain.
Family friendly atmosphere. Food is decent but not terrific to justify the prices. Lobster trio was very buttery but any time you cook anything with a lot of butter you get that buttery taste anyway. In my opinion it’s not worth $36. Waiter is attentive.
Get the steamed mussels in curry sauce. Their fish and chips is fab. Cocktails are fab too. Golden state cider is offered here which I love. Great ambiance and beautiful bar. Valet is 20 bucks. Opens until midnight. Might get a celeb sighting or two here. Service is wonderful.
Cool spot in Echo Park for seafood and delicious cocktails. We were seated quickly and greeted by our server who really helped us navigate the menu as well as the cocktails and twas extremely helpful coursing things out for us. We ordered the special which was a lightly fried branzino and oh lord lord lordy, I could not stop eating it off my friends plate...he had to just hand it over because ain't no wall high enough to keep me from diving in. The other stuff was "meh"😕; the shrimp appeared to be on its last hour before it was bad and the Steam Shells and Pasta dish had some interesting ingredients but missed the mark as far as aligning a balance of favorite profiles and nonetheless, I appreciate the chef's creativity for thinking outside the pasta box. Been there for brunch before and it was better than this experience so it's not a place to avoid lol. All in all, it IS tasty so give it a go.
Food was excellent but the service could’ve been better. The waitress with vegan bangs should be more attentive and knowledgeable. Also maybe staff shouldn’t be sitting in the middle of a small restaurant polishing silverware. It kinda kills the vibe. Other than that very nice experience! Would definitely go back for the steak fries
Came here for the lobster trio. It did not disappoint. The drinks program is also good. Service is a little slow (especially for the drinks).

Nice chef driven restaurant cocktails were really good! The service was fine. Menu is really small, and most things I wanted were not available. I ordered a $65 steak, which was okay compared to price. If you like tasting menus this is your place.

Love the drinks and the atmosphere but after coming here 4 separate times over the past two years, I have to say the food is hit or miss. Today unfortunately was a total miss on the food. We came in just for drinks and light snacks. Finally tried the bloody mary which was great. Service was friendly & attentive, also always the case. For food we got the hamachi crudo and tuna crispy rice. The hamachi came out first and we ran into some small pieces that we couldn’t chew through. No biggie, it happens. But then the tuna came out and there was an unchewable piece that was so large we couldn’t believe it was not cut off during preparation (photo of partially chewed food intentionally omitted). Safe to say but we both left pretty disappointed in the food quality for the price.

The food was insanely salty—unless the goal is to give customers heart problems and an early death, this is just too much. The atmosphere was nice, but don’t sit outside unless you want dogs constantly walking past and disturbing you. We ordered a lot but couldn’t eat any of it. Felt like I was about to have a heart attack. Absolutely not okay.
UPDATE: Former Regular Patron’s Experience I used to be a regular at this place since its opening. Unfortunately, my last visit was extremely disappointing, and I feel compelled to share my experience. Incident Details • Service Issue: During my last visit, the waitress left us unattended. At the end of our dinner, we received our dessert to go, but none of our plates were taken away. This happened despite leaving a generous $300 tip for two people. • Billing Error: My credit card was charged twice for different amounts. I contacted them via Instagram (since they follow me there) immediately after noticing the error. Their response was unapologetic, asking me to send an email, which I did. Five days later, there was still no update. • Lack of Resolution: Despite replying to my Instagram DM, they failed to respond to my email regarding the wrongful charge. This lack of service and professionalism made me decide to give them another chance three months later. Second Visit: Continued Disappointment • Visit for Lunch: I returned for lunch, hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, it was the worst service I’ve seen in a long time. There was a shift change, and while the new waitress tried her best, the service remained subpar. • possible False Advertising?: I ordered a lobster roll, which was claimed to be 5 pounds but clearly wasn’t. • Attempted Compensation: When I mentioned my previous experience, the waitress offered to cover my lunch, which I declined. Instead, I accepted a 10% discount. Despite the offer, the service remained unsatisfactory. • Tip Incident: After not leaving a tip due to the poor service, the waitress mentioned that they rely on tips, which made me feel guilty. I left the only bill I had on me, which was $5. She really did not have to make me feel bad for that. But she did … Conclusion • Racial Profiling Concern: I’ve read several comments about similar experiences and even racial profiling, which is concerning. Service used to be courteous and kind. It is not anymore. • Recommendation: I no longer recommend this place due to their ongoing service issues. For a better lobster roll experience, try Royal Lobster on Beverly Blvd. It’s Asian-owned, offers excellent service, and has a charming outdoor patio.

I don’t know why this place is closing but if it has anything to do with the service I understand why. Absolute worst service I’ve experienced in a restaurant ever. Waited 20 minutes for a menu, another 20 for drinks and then an hour for our cold food. One dish was SOUP which I’m pretty sure is already made. Oysters were the last dish to come out after we watched at least 4 tables who ordered after us recieved theirs and one of them even got a second round. Icing on the cake was our server telling us she saw a dog outside and that was the cause of her delay to pick up our check. OH OH the hostess who was running food as well, to be fair they were crazy busy, but I saw her with a plate of lobsters rolls, one of them tipped over. She put it down on a table then manhandled it with her bare hands, noticed people were watching took it back to the kitchen where I. Can only presume she manhandled again herself , then serve it to a table. I wanted to vom. Regret not leaving and wasting our time and money
