You have to get their bing and mushroom rice! Though I like vinegar and sour flavors in general, bok choy was a bit too sugary and sour. Could not recommend iberico pork either because it was too salty to my liking. We also got rice pudding which I was okay with but my husband didn’t like the texture. But overall, I would return because on top of overall great food, the servers were super attentive and friendly (getting my dog a bowl of water even before asking).
Not a big fan of David Chang after that foo tried to bully small business by claiming chili crunch but his food is fire. Great service and good vibes at Majordomo. Great drink selection as well. Their pork shoulder blossom is delicious but it isn’t traditional Korean blossom which uses pork belly. I got to their blackened fish, mushroom fried rice, potatoes, their bread and hummus and different dips. Honestly this place is pretty fire
The ribs is so soft and tasty! We also liked the mushroom rice. My only complaint is that the portion of the sided was very small
I was a little worried that this place might be overrated, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed it. We got the Bing with eggplant, mushroom, crispy rice, wagyu, and crispy potatoes, and everything was delicious!! For two people, it was a lot, we came hungry but we were stuffed at the end. The best two items were crispy potatoes and wagyu. The Wagyu beef was incredibly flavorful, juicy, and the chimichurri provided a perfect compliment without being overpowering. II have a possibly controversial opinion: the crispy potatoes were better than the mushroom crispy fried rice. They were crunchy, spicy, acidic, well-balanced, just magnificent, and a quarter of the price. The crispy fried rice was overpriced for not having a protein included. Could have used a little spice as well. However, I've heard from a friend that if you come with a large group, get the rice and the short rib, and mix them together, that's where it's at. Our server and the sommelier were wonderful; helpful, easy to talk to, great suggestions, approachable. We were given delicious crémant for our anniversary. All around great experience and would go again with a large group to try the large share items!
I didn’t know what to expect coming into this place because the menu was small and I wasn’t sure me and my fiancé would find something we liked, but everything we ate was 10/10! The bing was unbelievable we had to get more, and the chickpea pasta was out of this world! The staff was all very friendly and chill as well, which I especially appreciate in nice restaurants like this. Overall it was a wonderful culinary experience
We had an amazing dining experience and couldn’t be happier with the customer service. Our server, Rei, was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome throughout the evening. The food was exceptional, from start to finish, and every dish exceeded our expectations. We truly enjoyed our dinner and would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting LA. Definitely worth a visit.
Absolutely delicious food with amazing service! Parking is $13 by valet but you can easily find free street parking a block away. Restaurant is spacious and staff are all very friendly. We ordered the bing, tapioca lo mein, hamachi collar and grilled pork. Every dish is packed with flavor. The wait between dishes can be a bit long however, but nothing a good convo can't solve! There’s also a 3% back of house charge FYI. Definitely will come back again -- with not friends so we can try their Bo ssam and short rib!
We had a date night here on a recent trip to LA and absolutely loved it. The food and drink were all delicious and the service was on point. The overall ambience was a vibe as well. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share, each one was incredible. Our server made recommendations on how he would have things sent out for complimentary flavors, and we're glad we listened. The cocktails we ordered were lovely and the wines we tried were good. Shout out to our server, Talor, who took good care of us all evening. Very friendly, welcoming, attentive, and with great recommendations. We would definitely return here to try the other dishes on the menu.
Surprise pick by the husband and he nailed it. We preordered the whole plate short rib and it was worth every penny fall off the bone, melts in your mouth and tasty with great condiments. Plenty of food for two people we definitely took some home. We also had the bing bun basket and that was a highlight the sides were so unique and delicious with the fluffy yummy bread. We ended with honey pie and even that was solid and great end to a delicious meal. The servers were very friendly and the inside of the restaurant is quite nice. Highly recommend this place.
We had a wonderful dinner here and already excited to dine here again on our next drive to LA. Made our resy on Opentable and when we arrived starving at 5:30pm there was already a long queue to get in. Did my research and ordered the favorites: Lemon drop martini ($18) of course Bing with ricotta, jam & chili ($14): deeelicious starter Gem salad ($24): ceasar-ish, super refreshing and sooo tasty we almost licked the platter Mushroom crispy rice ($48): our absolute favorite and paired sooo well with the tender juicy pork chop ($36). Pork chop took awhile to be served but it was worth the wait. Friendly service, nice bar set-up, dim lighting conducive for an impressive date night and wowza Japanese toilets (!) Just not too impressed with the loud music. Glad to find this gem in the industrial artsy side of LA. Will definitely return to try the other dishes on a relatively small menu. (3% surcharge is automatically added to your bill for the dishwashers, externs (?), line cooks etc)
David Chang really outdid himself at this location. Food and atmosphere were both top notch and the staff to match. Make sure you try the bing. They are melt in your mouth amazing with incredibly flavorful and colorful dips. The steak was cooked perfectly and one of the most tender cuts I have had in a while.
What a wonderful restuarant! Delicious food, warm and welcoming service, great atmosphere as well! Everything we ordered tastes great, from the cocktails, the stuffed pepper to tapioca noodle to rice pudding. We were celebrating our anniverary and they brought us free sparking wine which is very thoughtful. In addition the sommelier gave a free glass of dessert wine to pair with rice pudding. We have a wonderful time there.
Nestled in an area one would never expect to find delicious and fine cuisine, my bestie and I hit up Majordomo. He’d been there and for him it wasn’t a big surprise but for me, what a way to celebrate a great night! He’d pre-ordered the ribs which need to be ordered a day in advance and the hype was more than warranted. Melting in my mouth like butter, the ribs were complimented by all the fixins they brought to the table including the rice they make using a portion of the ribs. On the side of all that, we ordered the crisp potatoes, a flat crisp bread served with honey/butter and some cauliflower dish which was all absolutely scrumptious. Beyond highly recommend the restaurant - food was complimented by excellent service and ambience. Good job Majordomo - thanks for being part of a special reunion of my friend and I. 🙂
I don't know how David Chang keeps all the talents in his serving staff. I have been to his places in Vegas and New York before, they are so good and I didn't believe the majordomo can be even better. BUT THEY ARE SO GOOD! Everyone is knowledgeable, helpful and builds instant connection with you. Even filling my water glass is done perfectly: my water level never goes under 20% and most of the time I don't realize that happening. Definitely worth my trip from norCal. Oh, I almost forgot, the food is over the top too! I didn't order the most famous crispy rice, but whatever I got (tapioca noodles and pork chop) are the best version I have ever had.
Food 4/5 Wanted to try the but for $30 it’s not worth it for (3) biscuits and (3) sauces that were mediocre at best Homemade chips were amazing, not too salty and made free Sandwiches both were solid and both pork and steak were soft and tender Drink comes in a cool ceramic cat 🐱 cup definitely a cool touch to the experience Service 5/5 Genuine friendly service from our bartender. Couldn’t have had a better experience Parking 4/5 Usually valet or parking within the perimeter which is a bit sketchy. We came early so parking was free Ambience 5/5 Beautiful ambience, high ceilings and an industrial vibe
**4.4/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨ Majordomo Chinatown: Posh Asian Fusion with Creative Twists** Tucked in the heart of LA's Chinatown on Broadway, **Majordomo** (David Chang's outpost) is the Asian restaurant that channels that **New York posh** vibe—think sleek industrial design, high ceilings, and **open spacing** that makes the room feel airy and sophisticated without being stuffy. The energy buzzes like a Manhattan hotspot, with communal tables fostering that cool, urban dining scene. The **creative recipes** shine: the bing bread with chickpea hozon is fluffy and addictive, while the spicy lamb noodles twist Korean and Chinese influences into something bold and fun. The whole boiled chicken with ginger-scallion sauce is a showstopper—tender, flavorful, and paired with rice that's perfectly steamed. Service is attentive and knowledgeable—servers pace the meal well for groups, recommending wine pairings from their eclectic list. It's a step above casual, leaning into that fine-dining-lite experience that's perfect for date nights or impressing friends. That said, minor deductions keep it from a full 5. **Parking** in Chinatown is a nightmare—valet is available but pricey, and street spots vanish fast. The **coursing** can feel rushed during peaks, with dishes arriving all at once rather than timed elegantly. And while innovative, some **tastes** miss the mark for me—overly bold spices can overpower subtleties, and portions lean small for the price. Overall, Majordomo earns a strong 4.4 for that posh New York feel, spacious layout, and recipe creativity in Chinatown's evolving scene. It's a standout for fusion fans—I'll be back, but maybe Uber to skip the parking drama.
First timer here, half the dishes were a hit and half weren’t for me personally. The tuna carpaccio was very good. Their bing bread is some of the best bread I’ve ever had; I enjoyed it with their eggplant & pine nut gremolata. I would come back just for that heavenly bread-dip combo. The little gem salad & stuffed peppers were a little disappointing; the roe made the salad taste a little salty but the crunchy addition was definitely good compliment. The stuffed peppers are shishito peppers and were perfectly fried, but there was barely any sausage inside. The Iberico pork was smoky and flavorful. The crispy mushroom rice was a little bland but the differences in texture made it a unique dish. I’d like to come back with a group to try their bossam and short-rib plate sometime and definitely double down on the bing bread.
Food was OK and average service. Could tell this place wanted to put a different / Asian angle but it didn't work in all dishes. Mushroom rice was probably the best (taking after Chinese claypot rice) and the bakchoy was the worst - soaked in yogurt and not sure what the taste was like. Iberico pork at >$80 was way overpriced for what it turned out to be (local char-siu is far better). Service was average - our waiter seemed rushed and more interested in finishing up the evening. Definitely interesting to note how patrons were seated across the dining area.. I won't aay more but its pretty obvious ! Check it our yourselves!
I found the entire experience to be quite average or could be described as below average for a restaurantat this level. The restaurant is located in an usual location. You do have to know or have to try to find it to see it. Once we entered we waited at the front to be seated as at that time no one was staffed at the front. When we got our table, we were instructed to take the number at our table to the counter to order. If you are with a guest or date, keep in mind one of you will need to go get in line to place the order. You won't have a server assigned to your table but there will be food runners to bring out your order. Im not sure the expectations of tip when you are having to go to order at the counter. Also not at the bottom of the menu, you will have an automatic 3% additional charge to pay the staff. Ridiculous. The restaurant menu has limited selection and is more on the expensive side yet you need to pay 3% more and tip, while not having your own server. Food was good but not so good that I want to return either.
We had prefix menu for NYE. With a high recommendation by family member, we were excited to try this place. We were sat down on time and was promptly guided for our prefix menu with add-ons and drinks. We received our appetizer and bread with three spreads promptly. From that point, we had to wait over 50 minutes for our next course. At the 40 minute mark of wait, a server or assistant manager came to apologize about the delay. Totally understandable. Then they brought the potato with caviar that was additional and the prime rib - which is supposed to be the last course. The meat came before the pastas with just the horseradish. Then one of our pastas came, then the fish dish, then our last pasta. No sides for the main course were served. The delivery of food was incredibly out of order with items missing. They deducted a few items here and there as a courtesy discount, which we were grateful for. We asked for all the food to be packed up as my wife was feeling flustered with the chaos. We had everything packed just to find out they left out our pasta. I cannot believe the amount we paid for such a terrible experience. For this to be a successful evening, the restaurant should have better prepared or had a practice run. I do not recommend trying this restaurant during their prefix sets. It is unorganized and you will be spending more time waiting for your food than enjoying it.
I've been coming here couple times a year for the past 3 or 4 years and food and service has always been top notch. This past sunday was the first time we've come for lunch. We had a group of 7 and we had ordered the short rib as usual. We were seated very quickly as we made a reservation for 12pm. Drinks, Bing, and bossam came out pretty quickly, but the short rib came at around 145pm. An hour and 45 Mins after we sat down. Why didn't everything come out at the same time? After the bossam was served our waiter was nowhere to be found. Drinks went unfilled, the ssam wraps and gochujang were promised to be refilled, but took a long time until I complained to one of the other servers. Even tho the food was great, there service really ruined the experience. Maybe it was because it was lunch time? Either way, the service was very disappointing this time. The guests we brought from out of town were disappointed as have been raving about this place. Our server was a tall Caucasian male. We've had hime before and he was great, but this time, he was not on point. Very disappointing experience.
