Maru Ramen is highly praised for its flavorful broth, authentic taste, and friendly service. The spicy miso ramen and karaage chicken appetizer are popular. Some find the service inconsistent and wish for a broader menu, like Udon.

The food was amazing. The shashu pork had flavor. Love the ramen. Also, the server was kind and helpful. She was awesome. Thank you Maru Ramen for a great evening with family and great food.
I love ramen soups and have tried many places. But Maru Ramen makes the best miso ramen soup in LA.
Great good, great service. Ramen is super flavorful. 10/10 recommend
Amazing food, the bowls are extravagant , and overall the service was amazing, thank you.
Maru Ramen is hands down the BEST ramen I’ve ever had! The broth is rich and full of flavor, perfectly balanced without being too salty or heavy. The noodles are always cooked just right—springy, chewy, and the perfect texture. Every bowl feels so thoughtfully made, with fresh toppings that really bring it all together. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are always friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Whether you’re a ramen lover or trying it for the first time, Maru Ramen sets the bar high. I can’t recommend it enough—this is my new go-to spot whenever I’m craving ramen!
I get the Kuromayo Ramen every time and it never disappoints! The chase melts in your mouth and the staff are so polite!
Food here is really good, the experience was amazing hospitality is super good. Service was great
Nhi and Iliana r the GOATS love the food as always.. literally a perfect 10/10 COME HERE NEOW
Literally just tried this place for the first time yesterday and just picked up an order to go the day after! SO good. Recently relocated to west LA and glad to have found my new fav ramen spot!
So this is such a amazing quick stop to have some of Maru Ramen! The menu is simple. But I really wish that they would also have Udon 😥 if they can make that it would be my only stop. Instead of driving out to Downtown L.A. Little Tokyo. But other than that this is still a great stop. Especially for the kids they all love this restaurant!
This is the coziest restaurant I’ve ever been to. They play the best music and make the best ramen. 5 stars!
Iliana was the best server ever. literally so cool and nice. go there just for Iliana she saved me from choking on the ramen because i was eating it so fast it was so good. thank you Iliana 🙏🏻
Nhi & Iliana were awesome! They took care of all of our needs and the food was bomb. Get the spicy ramen :)
Cute little joint, 8 tables, very chill. Lovely host (Natasha) and great services. The Kuromayu ramen is nice, I wish the black garlic oil has a stronger black garlic aroma. When everything (meat, noodle, soup) is put together, it's like a completed song and it's comforting. The soup base is smooth, the meat falls right off, and noodle is cooked just right, with a little al dante. You can add more ingredients to your pleasing. Would like to come back and try their creamy vegetable broth ramen too. Beautiful pictures on the online menu, great presentation.
Nihn and Iliana were both fabulous and attended us at a timely fashion. I loved the food and vibe! I will be back!
Wow I love this place!!! The service is immaculate and the employees are just great!! I would definitely recommend for date night and even for families just looking for a night of fun and good food!!
Very nice small Ramen place. Me and my family really enjoyed this place and decided to come again the next day during our visit to LA.
What can I say, it’s solid ramen and good service!! Definitely hit the spot on a cold day.
I love this place, im a usual and this is THE spot, reminds me of my mom's cooking when we lived in japan. Super nice staff too!!
Was looking for a nice place for a comfy meal and was NOT disappointed! The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the place was very clean and cozy, a nice little hole in the wall you're looking for. I had the shrimp pop and vegetable ramen, both were phenomenal! The shrimp pop was very fresh and light, with a mouthwatering yum yum suace and a splash of fresh lemon. Maybe the best shrimp I've ever had! The vegetable ramen was unbelievable! I could have just eaten the broth alone and been satisfied. The noodles were firm and well cooked, and the Brussels sprouts were roasted perfectly! It's hard to make a vegetable based broth hearty and flavorful, but they did it! You should definitely come for a tasty and authentic experience!
The noodles were absolutely delicious and the soup base was so fragrant! The chashu pork was incredibly tender, and the fried rice tasted even better when eaten with the soup base. The fried squid was very crispy, and I really loved the sauce that came with it. Also, the waitress was such a sweetheart! She was so enthusiastic and lovely, and the service was both quick and professional. I will definitely be back!
We stumbled on Maru Ramen recently, and it’s already become one of our go-to spots. The food is consistently delicious — rich broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and fresh toppings that actually taste cared for. Service is fast and friendly without feeling rushed, and the place has this cozy, tucked-away vibe that makes it perfect for a quick lunch or a low-key dinner. You can tell they take pride in what they do. Definitely one of the better ramen spots around.
First time here at Maru Ramen and I gotta say... of all the ramen spots around Canoga Park and Santa Monica so far (driving into town for work)... this is the spot I would come back to. Despite the hole-in-the-wall cozy atmosphere/ambience spot with a limited menu, the Kuromayu ramen and the Spicy Miso ramen were delicious, 5/5 for both, and blew our expectations. Apparently the vegetable ramen is also really popular. That is for our next visit. Service was great. Any time I get a water refill (twice) I know I'm being taken care. The other customers seem to really enjoy their meal and time here. Kind regards to the team; the chef(s) and the server, Iliana, for a great experience.
Very flavorful soup base. Everything was delicious. I added ginger and wood ear mushroom to my ramen. I asked if the soup can be made less salty and even though they said no, it came less salty and it was perfect for me! Will definitely be back if I am in the area.
Maru Ramen does not disappoint!! The service is fast, food is amazing, and space is clean. I can honestly say it is the BEST ramen I have ever had! If you want the best tasting good quality ramen, this is the place to go!
Oh my gosh, this ramen was absolutely amazing! Super five stars from me ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The service was great too! I’m usually not even a carb person, but I finished the whole bowl of noodles—yes, every bite. The broth was so flavorful, and the chashu pork just melted in my mouth. So satisfying!
The ramen has been one if not the best ramen I’ve tried and I’ve lived 3 years in Japan before !! Please visit if you have a chance you won’t be disappointed!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 10/10 service incredible too!!!
Some of the BEST service I have had at any place for a long time. The food was good and came out quick. Very small place . The Garlic Edamame is a Must have!!!
Small but mighty! Appears as a hole in the wall. The food was outstanding 10/10 recommend the vegetable ramen the broth was AMAZING we also added it to the chicken bowl! The service was excellent and the music was a vibe! Thank you for letting us in 20 minutes to closing and still giving amazing service
Our family of four each ordered a bowl of ramen, and the taste was very authentic. The broth was rich and flavorful. For dessert, we had mochi, which was also delicious! Highly recommended.
Amazing little spot that is full of flavor. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Will definitely come back when I'm in the area.
Always pass by this place with the eye catching figure outside the building(can't miss it) but haven't had the chance to come in till today. Peter greeted me as soon as I walked in and provided a pleasant experience throughout my meal. I ordered the Karaage Chicken Appetizer which was oh so good! Juicy and tender with a crispy and light exterior. Squeezed the fresh lemon wedge provided into the sauce for a tantalizing treat my taste buds still water thinking about. For mains, we ordered the Kuromayu Ramen (the pork = LITERALLY MELT IN YOUR MOUTH GOOD) and the Soboro Bowl that had an exceptionally balanced sweet to savory flavor. Will come by again real soon, thanks for the wonderful eats and great dining experience! 👍👍👍

I will be dreaming about their spicy miso ramen. Love everything about this spot. Service was great also. Nhi and Iliana took care of us and were perfectly attentive and so sweet.
Our first real ramen and we might alter future trips just to come back here. The gyoza as an appetizer was incredible and to finish off we just had to try each of their desserts. Come here, you won't be disappointed.
the most jaw dropping beautiful ice cream on planet earth. ramen banger. tasty. declioue. thank you. i don’t have pictures because i ate it so fast. thank you. they are nice here
I walked into Maru Ramen a broken man. I was tired, I was hungry, and honestly, I was starting to question all my life choices. Then, the bowl of ramen arrived. It wasn't just food; it was a religious experience. The broth... oh, the broth... was clearly simmered using the tears of a thousand happy deities. The noodles were so perfectly al dente, I think they whispered secrets of the universe to me. And the pork? The pork transcended the physical realm. I'm pretty sure I heard Enya singing softly as I took the first bite. I don't know who is running that kitchen, but they are clearly wizards, and they owe us all nothing. This isn't a meal; it's a personality transplant. I left Maru feeling like I could run a marathon, solve world peace, and probably parallel park perfectly on the first try. Warning: Do not eat this ramen if you have anything important scheduled immediately afterward, because you will spend the next hour staring blissfully into the middle distance, wondering how anything else in your life could possibly matter now. Thank you, Maru Ramen. You've ruined all other food for me. And I love you for it.

I had the kuromayu, visually great. Generous with the meat and noodles, but not an overwhelming size. Egg and meat were well marinated, had a nice sweet flavor to them, felt premium. Noodles were thin, like I like them, but texture was slightly off for my preference, a little soft, glassy, lacking a flouryness I enjoy. Broth I was neutral about, flavor was good, but it has a slight sliminess to it I didn't particularly enjoy. It felt to me like it could have come from an excess of green onions, or perhaps overgrown green onions. Christine, the front of house was delightful, very sweet and attentive. Best ramen I've had in the valley, not bad, but could be better.
ramen itself is delicious: loved the broth, the noodle, and the chashu (doesn't have that over-cooked taste at all). the seaweed definitely adds a surprising umph to the overall flavor. the egg is not exactly soft-boiled, but close enough. however, the staffs are mediocre: not that big of a place, but very slow in delivering the food, and almost impossible to get their attention for 1. the check, and 2. change water (there's a bug inside my water... and they didn't add a straw when they changed the water 😒) I can probably make a big fuss about the water thing but I didn't, just minus a point for the final experience here. hope this review helps.
Not your usual ramen shop, but well worth the visit. My Spicy Miso Ramen was amazing and flavorful, though I could be more spicy for my taste, the chicken karage was OK overall I nice restaurant

Do not order this as take out. I waited 30 minutes in the restaurant for my food after the time it said it would be ready. I saw an entire family eat their meal while I waited. The waiters were sweet but that was really unacceptable.
My first experience was at the Northridge location and was all around good. Woodland Hills opened and while the food is good, the service sucks! I order basic ramen and gyozas for pick up and still 45 min later I go in and have to wait an additional 10 min for my extra broth I ordered 45 min ago. My gyozas are cold and have been sitting. Every single employee in there needs to move with more urgency! It’s already a small space so now you have a pick up line standing over people dining in. And the front door is just unsanitary for any restaurant! Why is my extra broth coming out ? It’s a ramen spot! Staff - front and back needs training or something. They’re 20 min means an hour and 20 min….

Food took about 30 mins to come out. Totally killed my date night. Place looks good and food is just past ok. If it werent for long wait time, could have given 4.5 stars.
Tell you what this place went quantity over quality. Too much ramen for one person, meat was sweet, doesn’t taste anything like ramen. Very Big portion. Couldn’t finish it
