Rock Sugar had a great variety of food on the menu while maintaining the quality of each individual food. The cashew basil chicken we ordered was delicious and the noodles we ordered were also great (the ones with the calamari and shrimp). Seems like a great place to go to share different types of food. The vegetarian options were also solid as a member of my party greatly enjoyed theirs. The experience and ambiance of the restaurant was rather unique and enjoyable as was the staff. When considering the classiness of the restaurant and the quality and flavor of the food, the prices here are actually very reasonable. The cocktail menu looked good but the drinks were rather expensive so I did not order one. Overall great meal and experience. The food and service was good and all was for a fair price.

They have a good happy hour here. They have an open air area in front of the restaurant that's really pleasant to be in. The drinks are good. The happy hour food comes in small portions but is very tasty. If your around the mall during Rocksugar happy hour it's worth interrupting you shopping trip to swing by. Also a good move if you have to wait in one of the giant lines that seem to spring up when new stores open. The lines are much more fun after happy hour!

I LOVE this place!!!! I am willing to drive in heavy traffic to come and enjoy the delicious food and great Ambiance! You walk in and feel transported to a far away Asian land!! Low light with candle vibe and cool zen feeling! The food is excellent quality and very good. Great for a romantic dinner for 2 or a small get together with friends.

I can’t say enough about this place! The atmosphere and decor was outstanding! It feels like you step into another world and is the perfect place for a date or evening with friends and family. For what you get the price is reasonable and good service. The food was very good but the green curry lacked complexity and was bland. I would recommend the Coconut Chicken Soup to start with.

The concierge at my hotel recommend this spot to me….I went twice during my stay. I was very tired and hungry after my flight and the need for food won over the need for sleep.  I was fully intending to place an order and go back to my hotel and eat, but when I walked to the bar to place my order, I changed my mind and stayed. It is a beautiful restaurant with great ambience and atmosphere.  There is a heated area before you actually enter the restaurant and a patio with heaters.  The decor is quite beautiful and not too dark. The staff was quite welcoming even though the restaurant was busy.  I was seated immediately and was brought the Sesame Rice Cakes with a dipping sauce.  I ordered their version of Pad Thai noodles with chicken and peanuts. It was delicious!!  I also ordered their passion fruit cosmo…OMG!  That is definitely a must when you visit. The second time I went, I ordered the Steamed Malaysian Sea Bass and the Spicy Stir Fried Brussel Sprouts.  The ginger sauce was a little too sweet for my taste, but it was delicious.  I want to make the Brussel Sprouts myself! They were amazing!!  And of course, I order another passion fruit cosmo. The staff were extremely nice and very pleasant. Even though it was busy both times I visited, they were quick to fill my water glass and see how my meal was and if I needed anything else.  The food came out quickly both times, despite it being busy.

The ceiling are insanely HIGH!!! There’s a waterfall in the entrance!! Overall the place impressed me as very stylish. My friend and I decided it reminded us of maybe Thailand??? 🤷🏻‍♂️ this place is like an extra trendy PF Chang’s but much better. FOOD? The food is excellent. Honestly very surprised. I ordered the shaking beef and it was very tender, not chewy at all, delicious (loved the bonus dipping sauce), and the portion was large but still elegant. $33. it was one of the more expensive options but worth it in my opinion. Also got the stir fried vegetable noodles $13.5 and they were also delicious and the portion size was large especially considering how high the ceilings were. BONUS TIP There was an hour wait when I went but there was plenty of seat open at the bar so I just did that instead

Atmosphere is great, i love both patios, every food I've tried was great, the desserts are the best, they have a happy hour too, I keep going back

One of L.A.'s best. Nothing you order here is ordinary. I have been here three times. Always has been amazing. - We had the black pepper shrimp, mango papaya salad and princess chicken. You will never taste any 'black pepper' dish at ANY Asian restaurant like you'll taste here. There is an issue. The cocktails are so exotic and great, you will be compelled to order more than one. I felt very tipsy last night because of this.. so, yes. You'll get whiplash looking at all the great drinks everyone gets. Willpower.

Wow, what a great place to eat! Not only is the food fantastic, the restaurant itself is a treat to the eyes. The entrance itself looks like something you'd find in Vegas and as you make your way in, you'll feel like you're being transported to South East Asia. I made a dinner reservation for myself and a loved one via Yelp and as we arrived fifteen minutes before the reservation, we were promptly seated after deciding to sit indoors because the beautiful patio area was full of loud kids. Needless to say, they kindly accommodated us and found us a nice table near the patio. We ordered the Beef Skewers (beef satay) with peanut sauce, their cube steak (Shaking Beef), Hokkien Noodles and Hainanese Rice. Without beating around the bush, everything arrived quickly and was insanely good! The prices are also unbelievably reasonable for a place with such quality food, exotic decor and prime location. The satay and peanut sauce really took me back to Indonesia. This place is incredible. You won't be disappointed.

I came here with my wife for our anniversary. It was a very nice experience. Ambiance at Rocksugar is amazing. The architecture was really beautiful and unique. My wife said it was the most architecturally beautiful restaurant she has ever been to, and she has been to a lot of places in her life because of her family’s business. The food was delicious except the green curry with vegetables. Their rice with cajuns was amazing, we ordered vegetable samosas and it was fresh and delicious. Noodles with tofu was very flavorful. We didn’t eat any meat here so I can’t say much about their meat game. Last thing, their prices aren’t high compared to service you get and the ambiance you are in. An average plate can be around $14-18.

My friends and I love coming to RockSugar for dinner. The food is always amazing and they did a great job with the decor. I would HIGHLY recommend calling in advance to get a reservation, especially on a weekend. Make sure to check out this great Asian fusion restaurant located in the beautifully redone Century City Mall.

Food and atmosphere are amazing. Staff is friendly and the place is very inviting. Food comes hot and quick and there are tasty sauces that you can request with your dishes. Highly recommend their chicken skewers and ginger fried rice! They may be a bit pricey and you do have to pay for parking but the price brings great service and plenty of delicious food to eat. Portion sizes are good and share friendly.

Love this place, food is great, and such a nice atmosphere. Interior design is exotic and unique for Los Angeles. Note: all plates are ordered to share

I'M OBSESSED WITH THIS PLACE. Their green curry is to die for, I have tried it in many other places but I always come to the same conclusion; ROCK SUGAR GREEN CURRY IS THE BEST!!! I'm not a dessert person, I was born not liking sweets, but I went to heaven the first time I tried their butter cake, banana cake, and coconut cream pie. This is a perfect place to come celebrate with your loved ones, everytime I come with a new group of friends they end up loving it too. Amazing food, excellent decor, you MUST TRY THIS RESTAURANT!!!

Has all the good food from South East Asia. Luv the yummy food; one of LA's best. We ordered ginger fried rice, basil cashew chicken and hookien noodles.

Awesome Southeast-Asian fare in a huge restaurant. We loved the lettuce wraps, spring rolls, caramel chicken, and beef dish. Service was great and everything was very flavourful.

Excellent food and decent prices considering the area. Chicken meatballs were amazing! They were delivered with directions to eat them with your hands with lettuce wrapped around - genius! Chicken Tika Masala was solid.

This place is amazing! The food was great the ambiance was even better. We were visiting LA and this was one of the places that showed up on my map so we decided to go for it and we are so glad we did. The servers were super helpful and luckily it wasn't too busy. We will be back!

I have loved this place since it opened. Everything is filled with flavor and tastes amazing. Cocktails are fantastic. I love the Hainan Pork, Princess Chicken and Shaking Beef is just perfection. Their manager, Jessica, is amazing. She took great care if everyone and so personable. ❤️

First off this a very attractive restaurant. The interior design and architecture is very grandiose and unique. The the service is impeccable. The food is seasoned to perfection. One of the best restaurants I've been to in LA. Prices are also very reasonable. Overall a great experience for everyone. Recommended for Family, friends or a hot date!

The waiting area was a cozy patio with fires at the tables. The restaurant provided a great choice to have a nice dinner with my family to just sit and enjoy ourselves. The drinks were amazing and we went with the Chef's Tasting menu choice, we got to pick out the appetizer, soup or salad, main course, type of rice or noodles and dessert. there was plenty to be had and each serving was so flavorful and delightful. The service was spot on and never had a need for anything as they were there to serve! As we went on to dessert, our food was boxed up and waiting for us to be picked up on the way out, great idea! Thank you for a great evening and will be back again!

My LA girl friend brought me to this gorgeous restaurant Saturday for lunch, everything we ordered was awesome, the drinks were creative and on point, the food was amazing with different flavors that made you say “Mmmmm” with every bite. The wait staff was friendly and attentive as well. I definitely recommend this restaurant and wished we had one in San Diego!

Beautiful restaurant, great food. I split the Vegan buddha rolls, spring rolls, grapefruit salad and tofu entree with a friend. Fantastic! The combination of flavors were wonderful. I ate there late after the movies so no wait. It's a little pricey but worth it. Our waitress was wonderful.

Beautiful venue. Same people as Cheesecake Factory so they know what they are doing. Prices are reasonable for what you get. The Sidecar was a great cocktail. Miso rock cod (special), shaking beef, samosas and banana dessert. Already recommended it to several people and plan to come back.

Sorry about the poor quality of photos--the restaurant was dark (maybe a little too dark). My date and I were originally attracted to the restaurant by its stunning decor, which made use of the open spaces and high ceilings, a rare commodity in Los Angeles. There were less vegetarian options--and perhaps less options in general--compared to your typical Asian place, but the waiter agreed to add some tofu to my noodles at my own request. My dish was good, although maybe a little lacking in sauce. The samosas were probably better. My favorite part of the meal was my drink--the Saigon Bourbon Smash--although it didn't last for long enough if you ask me. The noise level was too high and made talking with my date into an effort. They packaged our left-over food into a bag and gave us a tag to pick it up on our way-out--a novel way to say "this restaurant is expensive" that made me feel special if not a little poor. The restaurant is located in a large mall with complementary parking after validation but there was no valet service.

Haven't visited this place in literally 16 years. Back then, it was relatively new to the Century City Mall and it served food that was mostly average, with some dishes godawful and others excellent. My first visit back, the interior has remained the cool, clean, and Asian inspired decor for before with some modifications and the menu seemed to be pretty close to what it used to be with most of what we ordered average but with some, the princess chicken, being excellent. (Thankfully nothing was awful). The staff was fine. Ambiance was good. And the highs of the meal were enough to convince me to return again in the near future.

Ambience - Wow Food experience - Okay’ish Tea - Pretty average We were here for lunch and were taken back by the lovely ambience and amazing decor that really takes you back to 1900s Asia, however the food is not really great and I feel this restaurant has a great scope to improve in that aspect to be truly able to call themselves one of the best if not the best pan asian experience in Los Angeles area. I would go back if more options are added to their menu along with better tasting food.

A meal at RockSugar can best be described as a journey into the exotic-harmony created by a combination of breathtaking design and somewhat authentic cuisine. To not mention the decor of this restaurant would be a crime. It is best described as a combination of Disney’s Indiana Jones ride meets Yin Yoga. You can spend hours on the meticulous details of the restaurant’s decor. The reasonably priced food, however, is hit or mis. We found the pork belly sliders and Thai style whole fish to be exquisite. I found the Thai noodles, and Samosa to be “white washed” to fit the local pallet. Honorable mention should go to the Spicy Brussels Sprouts which is solely responsible for the forth 🌟. Staff is fantastic, plenty of overpriced parking is available in the mall but RockSugar thankfully validates. Prices at the restaurant are reasonable but not great. Great place for a date.

The detail to the decoration matched the detail to the food! Really good for with really pleasant service. If you are into Asian food you will not be disappointed. This is a place no words can describe, you have to go and enjoy.

Great atmosphere, amazing decoration, food was good, especially the chicken shrimp dumpling and salted caramel carrot cake. a must go - but I'm giving four stars only as I think it's a bit overpriced (shaking beef $32). Could be the area, cuz alone the rent of this 7500-sqt is probably insane. Nevertheless, absolutely worth to go once.

This place has a very specific look and feel. Its dark and moody with heavy asian asthetics. Not gaudy mind you, but very purposeful. The food is the same. Had the Spring Rolls(Shrimp, Sliced Pork, Mint with Nuoc Cham and Peanut Sauce) Pork Buns (Kurobuta Pork, Pickled Red Onions, Shallot Mayo, Chilies and Cilantro), Asparagus Garlic Bean(Garlic, Chilies and Black Bean Sauce), Thai Noodles with Shrimp Tofu, Crushed Peanuts and Egg, All so good. Great date night place.

I came here during one of their DineLA specials and their portions and options did not disappoint! Out of everything I tried, the two things I loved the most were the Crispy Samosas (which actually tasted more like a Stuffed Roti - but that's just me) and the Princess Chicken was on point!

T

Very good southeastern Asian food! Authentic decoration in the restaurant. Worth the money.

The place is beautiful. Some of the food is too sweet for my taste.

The decor is amazing and really has a nice atmosphere. It seems like a good place for happy hour in the area. I got a few different dishes because they are served meant to share at the table. I liked the Thai and Vietnamese flavors, but lots of the food was so full of sugar. It was cooked well but so sweet and sometimes seemed to be slightly more glorified Chinese take out food at a higher price and less portions. The service was good, and they have a nice idea about sorting left overs in a locker until you leave. The chocolate cake was gross and too sweet ! And even worse not in least bit unique. It was good but not my go to place. I’d rather just go somewhere else and get the same food for a better price.

W
Wilder Rasmussen

Loved the vibe. The cocktails are outstanding. Sure the portions are small but it seems like more a place where you go, relax and talk with friends, sip cocktails and nibble delicious food. Definitely worth splurging on now and then, or taking advantage of the happy hour prices.

R
Ryotaro Ida

Very clean and very nice servers. Food price is little on the high side. Very delicious food. I had green curry. I was little disappointed for the food I got tho. It seems like just frozen veggies were thrown into the curry. Although, the pad Thai was Very delicious. I would go again but I wouldn’t order curry next time.

D

Love their Bibimbap & Green Curry Chicken. ⭐ I would give 5 stars, but it seems the consistency of food quality went down after COVID-19 & after only allowing take-out orders to go...

R

Decent food and small portion. Expect long wait, Reservation recommend.

O

The food was decent, not bad at all but not extraordinary either. The service was amazingly good though. Our server was nice, patient and he even suggested good meals. The down side is that some dishes were high in price, but not really worth $23 for a dish. The atmosphere is good and the decor is equally amazing. But again, if you take into account the prices... I guess it all depends on what you really want at the time. Do you go there for the ambiance and decor? or do you go there for the food? If ambiance and decor are your goal, then this is the place to go.

H
Hamid Sharafatian

Food is awesome. Very unique but will match sometimes taste. On the other hand everytime I go to Rock Sugar service my the waitress and waiters is very slow. Their helps are quick to bring utensils, water, etc.. but food was brought out very slow and one I have a credit card to pay. It took them 15 minutes to bring it for signature. Really why would you take that long

M
Matthew Essex

Ordered the flat noodles with veggies. I will say that the ambiance was superb. They rice crackers were stellar and however the service was lacking. The only reason I'd recommend this restaurant is because the two of the other friends I was with truly enjoyed their food (cashew chicken & Thai noodles with chicken). Left with much to be desired
