The best smash burger & lemonade in Silverlake!!! Great food, people and experience every time.
Great (great!) burger. Arguably best value in LA. $4 for a single. $4 for fries. $2.50 for a drink. $10.50 (ish) for burger fries and a drink? Basically In N Out prices, for a steakhouse quality burger. Let’s go Win-Dow!
Very good burger and shake. we got double cheese burger and fried chicken and it was fresh and very filling.
Double cheeseburger - 5 🌟 French fries - 5 🌟 I have a long list of burger and sandwich places I want to visit. The Win~Dow was on that list and I stopped by today. I came for a burger but liked that the menu had some nice variety including vegan options. The cheeseburger did not disappoint. It was perfect. They have their own 1000 Island sauce on the burger and I had some extra to dip my fries. Burger was charred and tasty. Definitely a great burger. The fries were crispy and tasty. They had a selection of shakes and dipped cones that was very tempting but I went with the savory only on this visit. I like the vibe of their patio area which I believe hosts a farmers market at some point in the week. I know parking in this area can be challenging. Try the side streets close by. I found a spot within a minute of getting there on a day when lots of people are in the area.
I figured this place would be all hype given how this city likes to exaggerate or gas up the most basic of places. But I was so wrong. Why go to any other fast food joint when the quality and price here beats any other spot in town? Burgers are delicious and the fries are done right. They also have some other options like salads and a chicken sandwich but it’s really about the smash burgers here. Fairly simple menu so you don’t have to waste time. That and the shakes. The S’mores shake is worth checking out! I never liked In n Out or Shake Shack anyway, I’ll stick with the Win-Dow!
The burgers here aren’t really smashburgers… but I’m not complaining! The thicker patties on offer here provide a welcome respite from the oversaturated LA smashburger scene. I had the double cheeseburger — some bites were meat-forward, some were pickle-forward, and some were onion-forward, which ultimately made for a satisfyingly balanced experience that let all of the individual components shine. The fries were also pretty solid, but another dash of salt would’ve probably helped. The best part though? How affordable the burgers are, especially given the eye-popping prices at some other LA burger establishments.
Well I’ll be damned…a delicious no frills burger in LA that doesn’t cost $47?! If you’ve ever been to a small town county fair, this is the smell and taste of The Win-Dow. Double cheeseburger costs $7.95. The seating area SUCKS though. It feels like a McDonald’s ball pit of kindergarten classroom stools. (Please just invest in a few shitty IKEA patio tables / chairs.) But I guess that’s on me…the place is called “The Win-Dow” and not “The Win-Dow with Ta-Bles and Ch-Airs.”
Came across the Win-dow by accident.. one day I was strolling down Sunset and I saw that the little corner they're at was having like a farmers market event on a Tuesday afternoon. Super glad I found this spot my whole family loves it.. my first attempt here was the chicken sandwich with some fries got the aioli on the side and I got they're green sauce (forgot what it's called) since I'm a total sauce person. Let me tell y'all something this sandwich didn't need any sauces added! Incredible flavors on the chicken sandwich. Nice portion size on the chicken it's basically coming out the super soft bun. Incredible slaw! Refreshing, salty, soft, crispy sandwich is beautifully complimented by that slaw! I've gone back about 3 times since that first try and I've had everything there and nothing falls short of great! I would argue that Win-Dow has the best smash burger AND fries in LA! Make sure you get their dipped cone after you have your meal. YOU WON'T REGRET IT! Also if you want to skip the ice cream but you want something sweet get one of their shakes! Honestly! You're gonna like anything you get here.. Definitely an LA must try spot! Look my only complaint is that there's no tables or chairs to enjoy the meal also because if you're gonna have your food there it can be a little crazy since there is all sorts of things going on in that corner, but overall great spot!
Top 3 best burgers of my lifetime over 40 years. If you love fluffy Martin’s potato bread, intense cheese flavor ( the best kind the childhood burger cheese kind or if you didn’t have a childhood, it’s what you’d imagine) The burger has grilled onions. Sizzled and caramelized down so tender you wouldn’t know it’s an onion. Pickle choice is A1. So far theirs 3 BJ’s (burger joints) on my radar. One for oooey goooey cheese sauce and delectable meat, this place, and BNSD for that scaled back to the classic die hard trilogy almost ‘dry’ but in the best way ie no crazy sauces or gimmicks just tender crispy meat. I’ve included a photo of the meat curtain cliffslide. Not on drugs. Only ssris.
I’ve been following The Win~dow for a while now after seeing it pop up on my usual reliable Instagram food accounts. It’s got a few locations around town, and it’s been bookmarked for a minute. Last time I was in the area, I ended up at Heavy Handed instead, which as you’ve probably read, didn’t really win me over once price and portion were factored in. This time, I promised myself I’d finally go to The Win~dow, and I’m glad I did. The setup is exactly what the name says. You order from a window. That’s it. No indoor seating, no tables. All the seating is outside with plastic chairs, umbrellas, and a very casual, almost camping-style vibe. It’s in a quiet dead-end area, and street parking was easy when I got there. Zero hassle. The menu is super basic in the best way. A single burger, a double, a vegan option, chicken, fries, milkshakes, and drinks. No overthinking required. You walk up, order, step to the side, and your food shows up fast. I’m talking three to five minutes, tops. I went with the double cheeseburger and an order of fries. The burger is just under eight bucks, fries around $4.50, and all in with tax it came out to about $13.50. That price alone already puts it in a good place. Let’s talk food. The fries were solid. Not greasy, not soggy, just good, clean fries that do their job. The burger, though, is the star. Yes, it’s a smash burger, and like most smash burgers, it’s not huge. That always gives me a moment of hesitation when I’m really hungry, which I definitely was. But don’t let the size fool you. This burger is juicy, flavorful, and flat-out delicious. For under eight dollars, it’s better than In-N-Out in my book. Easily. The seasoning is on point, the meat is juicy, and everything works together. It’s one of the best smash burgers in town at this price point, no question. What really impressed me was how filling it was. I was debating getting a chicken sandwich too, but I’m very glad I didn’t. Between the double burger and the fries, I was completely satisfied. If you’re a much bigger eater, maybe you’d want two burgers, but for me, this was perfect. That’s where The Win~dow really wins. Flavor, portion, and price all line up. This is an eight-dollar burger that eats like an eight-dollar burger should, not a twelve-dollar burger pretending to be something special. Friendly staff, fast service, easy parking, and no nonsense. I’d easily give this burger a high eight to a nine, especially when price is part of the score. This is the kind of place I’ll gladly come back to when I want a great burger without feeling ripped off. Definitely worth checking out.
Came here yesterday got a cheeseburger and fresh lemonade and it was the nicest burger I have tasted in LA since I got here! So tasty and such a nice setting to sit and relax with great seating will definitely come here again on my trip
Absolutely delicious burgers I love the beauty burger it’s super good! The photo speaks for itself. That’s an impossible burger with sauce onions and pickles. Has a great crisp to it and not at all meat and was not contaminated with actual meat from same grill. I’d get sick if it was so it was made very well. I went here twice on my two day stay it was that good.

Great spot for smash burgers at a great price. The dipped cones are gigantic and are ready before the rest of your meal. We got the peanut buddy cone. The fries here are some of the best in the city and you get a decent amount for the price. The shaved kale salad is one of my favorite salads in the city. It’s topped with a healthy amount of pecorino and the portion is great for under $8.

This spot captures the hip vibe of Silverlake perfectly. Surrounded by cafes and ice cream shops, it's an ideal place to take a break from the city hustle. The burgers are reasonably priced, and service is quick. The double cheeseburger can be a bit greasy but is overall satisfying, with a taste reminiscent of Shake Shack. The fried chicken sandwich is juicy, flavorful, and delicious. If you're looking to try a new local burger joint, I highly recommend this place.

How can a place have far better quality and flavor than a fast food chain and yet be better priced? This is the magic, unanswerable question about the Window. I order a double cheeseburger with fries and a house sauce side for dipping. The shakes and cones are delightful. Also the kale salad is surprisingly delicious and recommend adding avocado to it. Great spot!
Food was great. Had been hearing about this spot for awhile. I ordered at the window, not sure if they have online ordering, might recommend as it was cold waiting outside. People behind window were super friendly and accommodating. Tons of area to sit and hang out while waiting. Great burger, fries and shake.
Best vegatarian burger in Los Angeles by far. The cheese fries are excellent, nice and crispy. My only complaint would be that there isn't any indoor seating and with a kid, that can be difficult to manage. That takes nothing away from the food though. Side note: the food is way better here compared to the Hollywood location.

Pretty solid breakfast burrito with crispy potatoes and a slightly spicy taste. Wish it had a side salsa to dress every bite. Otherwise a good option but not on the level of the greats in the city.
I got a double cheeseburger and two large orders of fries. There weren't a lot of fries for two large orders. The burger was good. I liked that it didn't take long for the order to be ready. The bench seats on the street seemed a bit lame. I ordered that small amount of food and it still cost me 20 dollars. Things cost so much more in California.
I like eating burgers on stools so this place is like heaven. Cashier was a dork, but the food is solid. I like it.
Delicious burger, fries and fresh lemonade. The burger patty itself was not remarkable, didn’t taste very seasoned, the flavor came from the sauce/spread. Grilled onions were a nice touch. The fries were actually the star. Equivalent to in-n-out’s well done fries, but I didn’t have to special order them that way. Fresh lemonade was good, tart but sweet at the same time. No seating area, everyone takes it to go, the small stools aren’t really conducive to sit and eat. Parking was a bit of a challenge. You’re competing with the neighbors for street parking and sadly, many people cannot parallel park. Overall good smash burger, but the trophy still sits with Bored & Hungry in Long Beach or GoldBurger for the best ever.

I had a great beauty burger. It was almost like an onion burger with less onions, which I liked. The burger was flat and crispy, with pickles on top. They gave me a large amount of fries that were hot and tasty. My wife got the chicken and she said it was good too. The chicken was juicy and tender, with a crispy coating. We love the concept of getting a burger from a walk up window. It's convenient and fast. The place is open late, so it's perfect for a late night snack. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves burgers and fries.
I wanted to love The Window, so badly. But unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. I ordered a double cheeseburger without pickles. It came out 20 minutes later without pickles but also without cheese. Nah buddy. I let them know, they admitted to the mistake but took another 20 minutes to get me a new burger. It was just ok. The bun was warm and soft. The quality of meat was decent but tasted dry in spots. The sauce, cheese, onion, all were fine. Nothing special. My wife found her veggie burger to be lacking in flavor, and thought the sauce was too subtle. The fries were good, the right amount of crunch and crisp. The kale salad was decent, just way too many damn raisins. The coke that we ordered was 80% ice. Asked for a refill and was denied. I don't really see why I would come to the Window over In N Out. And if I want a standout burger, I'm going to HiHo.
This location needs all new kitchen staff. The food from this location is a night and day difference compared to the Hollywood location. The fries are always extremely stale as if they’re from the previous day and the patties are burned to the point of being completely inedible. Without any exaggeration whatsoever, I would rather eat a turkey sandwich from the gas station
