I stopped by Intelligentsia Silver Lake one morning and appreciated that it's open quite early in the morning. My flat white was average, not fantastic nor terrible. One thing that stood out is that it's only 6oz, a short one for 5 bucks. The shop has plenty outdoor seats in its big porch and around the building. Inside the decor has an interesting look but a bit dim to my taste. Service was friendly.

Coffee has many benefits and finding the right hot brewed coffee takes a delicate balance. Without further a-due let's start the review. Intelligentsia Coffee is specialty coffee-bar that is rich in history owned and operated by a brilliant entrepreneur couple. This location is at the corner of Sunset blvd and Sanborn avenue in Silverlake neighborhood section of LA. And it's quite popular among the locals. They have three other locations throughout metropolitan LA. Intelligentsia's indoor and outdoor atmosphere were very inviting and relaxing with a good view of Sunset blvd. I was warmly greeted by a young female staff. I perused their menu list and they have good selection of coffee and baked pastry. I ordered a hot brewed coffee with light half 'n half and three splenda. Unfortunately, they only offer a 20 oz cup size and that's perfectly fine. However, they don't have a coffee stopper which I detest. Service was moderately fast. Staff was obsequious, competent and followed health protocol. Price was fair for the hippy Silverlake neighborhood. Street metered parking only. Overall, I had a good coffee and order experience. I definitely will come back again and I highly recommend this popular coffee bar shop.

The LA Times features Intelligentsia on their “This Must Be Silver Lake” guide and I was soooo excited for it but ultimately left a little disappointed. I got the smoked maple latte, which was not very strong in the coffee or maple directions. The coffee did have light chocolate notes, but it was very light — tasted like sweet milk. The guide said their coffee was strong ;-; I appreciate how they do not charge extra for almond or oat milk even though I opted to whole milk in the end, and the interior is very cute. Service is friendly and speedy.

Not impressed with this spot. It was kind of a bummer too because I drive past it everyday and was looking forward to checking it out. The staff is super cold and unwelcoming. It's always a turn off to me when I enter a place and the employee behind the cash register just kind of stares at me without saying anything. I didn't know if she was waiting on something or it was my time to order. My girlfriend ordered an iced matcha and said it was one of the worst ones she's ever had. She drinks a matcha everyday so she would have a better gauge of that than I would. It seemed to be poured out of a container too rather than made fresh. My americano was pretty average but the whole experience makes me not want to visit again. Bummer because the building is super cool.

It's of many coffee shops within this city. You have 3 or 4 coffee/tea houses competing next to each other. I ordered the Americano over ice which cost $4. Service was ok.

Worst customer service in my life! The barista was so rude!!!! I went today (Saturday afternoon and the barista who took my order was a blonde lady) I asked her if the outlets were working because I needed to charge my phone and she answered: Do they seem broken? 😡 she had a terrible attitude, omg I couldn’t believe it !!!! Never coming back

Staff stuffy and unfriendly. Coffee bitter, and nasty flavor. I found the selection limited. Pastry very little flavor. Upstairs neighbor kept letting dog out unleashed. Nice seating but Yeastie Boys truck asked in front makes blocked sidewalk foot traffic. Price points 👉 ... too high for overall experience.

I have been coming here for years and it has always been great, good people, food and service. Recently asked for a latte and got some premade drink from a draft. I asked for a new one made like a real latte (shot of espresso with milk) and got so much attitude from this one barista (girl with glasses, brown curly hair and never smiles to clients). I ended the conversation by thanking her for the new drink and walked away because I didn’t want to continue fighting. I come back today for a latte again and she yells at me. I have never been treated so badly by a barista ever. There’s one guy who works there (with a mustache) an absolute sweetheart, smiles at everyone, asks how your day is going, I mean the nicest person, he needs to train her because she is awful to paying clients. Never going back there, too bad because besides her, the place is great.

I don’t know what is wrong with the barista today, but I ordered a hot cappuccinos to go and what I got is lukewarm milk with not a hint of foam + espresso that tastes worse than Starbucks. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this is just insulting.

It doesn’t really matter how good the food is if there’s a dog jumping up on counters where food is served. It looked like employees were feeding the dog or doing something to encourage this behavior. This is a counter where food is being served (to humans). Gross
