Awesome addition to town and local take out scene since arriving last year. Love the slider/fries combo here. Always fresh and fast service at good price. Also appreciate the late night hours well beyond 10PM for us locals here in SLO. Enjoy the 'hot' level slider and always recommend a few sides of Dave's sauce. Always killer and will be a reliable/efficient hot chicken take out spot!

This location has a great vibe to it, with helpful staff and a pretty quick turnaround time for orders. The sliders have a well-balanced seasoning and are nice and crispy. For me, the medium is enough spice; I tried the hot this time, and it was too spicy for me. I enjoyed the loaded fries with lots of Dave's sauce, plenty of pickles, and pieces of chicken to go around. This place has become a staple for me every week.

Every restaurant has its own story to tell. But this restaurant’s humble beginnings of chasing the American dream are something else. The interior design is tall, spacious, and comfortable. It combines artistic creativity with a bright and vibrant atmosphere. Very clever. I took a bite of my first Dave’s Hot Chicken tender sandwich. I cannot deny that it was incredibly delicious and addictive with its flavor. However, the chicken tender was a little too cold for my liking. Other than that it would be perfect. It's no harder to choose a shake flavor unless you can't decide what to pick. Now the Napoleon shake is an alternative. Don’t worry and be happy with the shake Napoleon as it conquered them all. Especially the lucky charms on toppings. It is my husband’s favorite as it is special. This milkshake flavor is something you cannot get at other places.

I ordered my food on the app……got there to pick it up. It was hot and ready. The staff was BEYOND courteous and so nice! The food was delicious and the restaurant was extremely clean. If in SLO….its a great place to eat!

This place just hits different after 10pm. The sandos are great and the seasoning is flavourful! There have been plenty of times when I order sandos to go and eat at home but then devour the sando in the car, it never makes it home. I was going to take a picture of my sando but same story...

As a super fan of the YouTube show Hot Ones, not to mention hot chicken sandwiches, I had long awaited the day I would sink my teeth into Dave’s legendary Hot Chicken. While on vacation in San Luis Obispo, we finally did just that. Normally, I would be down to try the hottest sandwich available, but since it was Valentine’s Day, wisdom seemed a better choice than danger. I’ve had a few experiences with hot chicken sandwiches that led me to spending a painful evening in the restroom, a cramping stomach, or both. I did not wish to risk ruining Valentine’s Day. Therefore I ordered the second hottest sandwich and please allow me to say that it was fantastic. It was hot, but the heat didn’t overwhelm the flavor, which is the case at a lot of hot chicken establishments. My favorite local hot chicken has never had a contender battle it for my opinionated first place position… until now. The chicken was crispy and moist with a delicious breading. Dave’s sauce is amazing. They have a unique kale-slaw that I was skeptical about, and happy to be wrong about. Did I mention pickles? Not only do you get pickles, but a lot of pickle chips! Their fries are really good as well. My wife is not a fan of spice, so she ordered hers plain and loved it. We ordered the rugrats some chicken bits. When they say bits, they mean bits, not nuggets. The staff was incredibly friendly, especially Jolene! I haven’t had such pleasant service since I was vacationing in the south. She was sincerely friendly, professional, and hustled! There were more than ten patrons in line before us and it didn’t take more than five minutes before we ordered. And the food came FAST. There is ample seating inside and outside. They have a second dining room indoors and have a ton of outdoor space as well. You’ll need a code for the restroom, but that’s not really a big deal. Can’t wait to go back and sign the waiver and face the wrath of the hottest sandwich next time. But until then, I will dream of hot chicken, delicious pickles, kale, and a mascot that resembles WWE’s Sheamus!

It was amazing so worth while!! Had the 2 Dave's #1 medium heat it was so filling I was only able to down 1 strip. Brought the rest home. Beautiful paintings and everyone was super nice I loved the atmosphere.

I came to Daves Hot Chicken for the first time with my family. I was nicely greeted by the staff and specifically Andres was the one who took our order. He was very knowledgeable, nice, quick and friendly. He provided an amazing first time experience for me and my family. The food was delicious and the chicken was hot, crispy, JUICY with lots of flavor. Thank you to Andres and the amazing staff there. We look forward to coming back again soon.

Came in and was greeted by Jolene. Super nice and explained the menu, levels of hotness (no spice up to reaper), etc. We both ordered the #3 with cheese but with different heat levels. I opted for mild and did the fries. BF ordered medium and upgraded to cauliflower bites. We also ordered a side of mac and cheese. While we waited for our food we looked around. The place was clean, lively, colorful and inviting. Alan brought our food out and was just as friendly as Jolene. Our food came out hot. Just the right amount of spice. The chicken was crispy. This is a great place to get fried chicken. Even though it was a little pricey it was worth it.

What a great place new age place the art work on the walls is fun. teenagers collage kids all ages like this place it's popular busy and they have great music playing. It's a must the chicken and fries with Dave's sauce and crunchy dill pickels is my favorite

She took initiative and truly represented your establishment with grace and class. I own a successful athletic clothing line, and she is the exact type of person we love to employ. I will definitely be returning for the great food, service, and atmosphere.

Dave’s Hot Chicken did not disappoint. The chicken had delicious breading and great seasoning and the sauce was absolutely on point. The dining area was clean and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Shout out to Vanessa for the great service and thank you to Alan for sharing the history behind the artwork inside. Such a cool touch that made the experience even better. We will definitely be back.

I could write a whole essay on how much I love this place. The absolute man Daniel hooked me up with some Dave’s sauce after I forgot to add it to my order. That man deserves a raise and pension for the rest of his live from Dave himself. Will be back. Every week.

Dinner was excellent! Chicken was spiced perfectly and so juicy. The mini sliders are great for the kids. Also, the pickle slices are a generous portion and so crunchy. Thank you for another awesome dinner. It also cannot be ignored that this location with the ample free parking is great.

Miranda at the location in SLO at Madonna Plaza was a total rock star! I ordered online and got there 5 mins. before closing and when I got there she was struggling with the milkshake machine, that had just filled my cup halfway and then quit working. She said it had been turning itself on and off all day, but that there was no one there who had the ability to take it off the on-line ordering app. But she was so accommodating! And stayed super calm and pleasant throughout our interaction. And all this even though I had already paid and it was now just a minute or 2 before closing! She kept trying to get the thing to work, but it wouldn't, so she offered me a couple of different options. I picked the option of filling the half-full milkshake cup with vanilla soft serve, and then she went to the trouble of trying to mix the 2 flavors with the wand of the malfunctioning milkshake machine. I so totally appreciated all her help, so late in the day, even though I'd already paid and there was no way to leave a tip. I love people like Miranda, who go the extra mile to help, even though there's no extra money involved. Such a lovely young lady! I've been super impressed with the customer service at this Dave's Hot Chicken location - it's been consistently above and beyond! I always notice these things after spending years in food service myself. And I totally appreciate that I'm not asked to tip at Dave's! It drives me crazy that everyone everywhere asks for tips these days. Table service with an actual server gets tips - generally speaking I don't want to tip anyone doing less than that. Food prices are already so high, and everyone's struggling, so I truly appreciate that Dave's provides excellent customer service without being asked to pay extra for it. Thank you Dave's! And especially thank you Miranda! And congratulations Dave's, for having an employee like Miranda!

The fries and chicken I received were incredibly soggy, I ordered tenders and recieved a slider. The bathroom was downright unusable when I went in, there was bleach on the toilet seat thats almost a health code violation. I don't think I've ever had as bad of a fast food experience as I did at Dave's. They really do not live up to the reputation they seem to have. Very very disappointed. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!! Go to chipotle
