Our second time having a meal here. When I knew we are coming back to Madrid, I knew we needed to come back here. Our last meal on a previous trip, they had high expectations to follow through this time. We were interestingly served by the same guy as the year before. Food wise, jamon is good. gazpacho tasted as usual. The razor clams and the red prawns were our favourites. So so sweet so so yummy. One of our fav restaurants in Madrid.

Enjoyed delicious paella in a lovely environment. My favorite restaurant so far after a week in Madrid. Hamad explained the menu and how best to enjoy our meal, including suggestions and serving our paella (we tried a few other things as well which were delicious, such as the runny eggs with ham and fries, so good)! Definitely check this place out, price is right and everything was excellent.

This restaurant was recommended by our guide for good paella in Madrid and we enjoyed an excellent dinner here. We started with the artichoke appetizer and seared octopus - both were delicious. Then we shared the mixed seafood paella which was incredible! There was a good amount of shellfish in shells on top, but also quite a bit mixed in with the rice. Service was friendly and professional, highly recommended.

I was in Madrid for a week and this restaurant became my clear favorite. It appears mostly as a seafood restaurant, but it has other excellent dishes on the menu. The service is friendly and professional. The food and wine are top class. Beautifully decorated and super hygienic. It is definitely worth the money

They made my cousin's birthday a night to remember. She flew in from the US to celebrate a milestone birthday and wanted to go to a seafood restaurant. One of my husband's coworkers recommended this place and I don't think we could have found a better option. They took care of us from the moment we arrived. My cousin wanted a sweet white wine to go with the meal, and they were patient and let her try several types until she found the one she wanted. We took a long time deciding what to order and they didn't rush us at all. My cousin and her friend decided on paella and wanted lobster with shrimp. Although that combination wasn't on the menu, they made it for them and added crab legs and squid to it as well, which they loved. I ordered the hake and it was a generous portion seasoned to perfection. The icing on the cake was the birthday cake they made for us. We'd requested a lemon cake and I think it ranks as the best cake I've ever had at a restaurant. The crust made from what tasted like graham crackers (my husband said cookies) was delicious. All in all, we had a wonderful evening and I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an upscale dining experience in Madrid. It's not cheap but it was worth the price.

After a long train ride on a cold and rainy day this place was just what we needed as we waited to check in to our hotel. Sit out front if you are in the mood for Tapas. If you are looking for something a little more formal head to the tables in the back. We were provided complimentary olives and fresh crusty rolls as well as a small dish each of what the waiter called a Spanish hot dog in a wonderful tomato based sauce. To his went particularly nice with the olives and rolls. For our main course we ordered the salt crusted sea bass, minimum two people, and were advised it would take a little time to prepare, no worries we had time! The Sea Bass arrived and the server prepared our plates for us. It came with simple boiled potatoes and roasted red peppers both nicely complimenting the slightly salty fish. The fish was flavourful delicate and moist. Very very nice. We finished with some cafe con leche which again was prepared well. Not a budget friendly restaurant but not very expensive either...it could have been! The menu was diverse without being confusing. We were very pleased over-all with the atmosphere full of locals and the great professional service in a traditional way.

Very good service and great atmosphere. The food also tasty and delicious but needs more spices if you ask me. The grilled asparagus is superb. Location is great m prices are a bit expensive but is OK I guess. We will come back of course.

Un sitio precioso y en todo el Centro de Madrid. La comida es el único pero, pero al tratarse de ir a comer, pues fastidia lo demás. Merece la pena ir a tomar algo por ver los bonito que es.

Unos de los restaurantes más bonitos que hay por el centro. Relación calidad muy bueno. El camarero Daniel nos ofreció una atención excelente. Volveremos en otra ocasión

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. We did not make reservations and had no problem getting a seat around 8:30 p.m. on a Monday. Our primary meal was the chicken paella. We found it to be very delicious. Overall, the experience was very positive, the waiters were polite and accommodating. The restaurant itself was fairly quiet. We definitely would dine here again.

A Good First Taste in Madrid; As this was the first restaurant we ventured into during our Spanish adventure, we didn't have a frame of reference for comparison. However, El Barril de las Cortes proved to be a delightful choice. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was friendly and efficient. While we can't speak to the broader culinary landscape of Madrid just yet, the seafood dishes we ordered were fresh and flavorful. It was a promising start to our gastronomic journey. If you're looking for a reliable option for a good meal in Madrid, El Barril de las Cortes is definitely worth considering.

We were referred by hotel staff for local food. The dishes were okay except the clams were delicious. The waiter had very little English vocabulary and we found we were sold for a razor clam dish but never came. They adjusted the bill after we pointed out the mistake. Overall the price was high , the quality was not great. Maybe we didn’t order their best dishes. The wine cellar is cool, though.

El rebozado de los calamares bastante malo. El plato de parrillada escasa y la guarnición muy poca también. La tarta de queso de las peores que he probado. No dan jarra de agua solo vaso, parece ser que el camarero se molestó y al pedir el segundo vaso de agua pues no lo trajo. Pedí la cuenta y a los 10 minutos tuve que pedirla otra vez.

Fuimos mi novia y yo a comer y la atmósfera del local es lo más salvable para ser honesto. El servicio, regular: el camarero nos trató con una prepotencia llamativa, tuteando y hablando a gritos con el resto de clientes. La comida pasable, el salmorejo muy bueno, pero la carne... La pedí a 3/4 y me la trajeron con sangre, no la pude acabar del punto en el que estaba. Mi novia dejó media ensaladilla rusa y el pollo estaba correcto. En rasgos generales, precio elevado para lo que ofrecen.

Un menú bastante completo, pero con muchos suplementos según lo que escojas... Se pueden añadir hasta 6.50€ más según lo que escojas. Sevicio.. La chica joven muy servicial y muy atenta... El ambiente está bien.. La decoración un poco recargada y las aguas de exposición que hay en vitrinas en nada ya sale la criatura que lleva años incubando...

Fuimos 7 personas a cenar sobre las 10 y aunque ponían que cerraban a las 12 pensábamos que nos daría tiempo a cenar . Después de pedir 7 platos variados a las 12 de la noche aparece un camarero y nos dice que el último plato parrillada de solomillo y secreto no va a salir porque los cocineros se han marchado se nos queda cara de idiota y enciman bromean con la cuenta de que no nos lo van a cobrar intentan solucionarlo con regalo de unos chupitos de la casa pero nos marchamos de allí con hambre y sin ningún tipo de explicación que estaban cansados y se tenían que marchar . Ahí nos damos cuenta que solo les interesan los guiris . Pues tenían buenas críticas pero desde luego con nosotros se estrellaron

Hemos comido el Menú Puerta del Sol. El plato "Callos con garbanzos" deberían cambiarlo por "Garbanzos con algún callo". Los garbanzos no estaban blandos y el pudin muy muy frío. La cantidad en los platos nos ha parecido 'justita'. La atención rápida y los camareros agradables. Es la tercera vez que vamos y esta ocasión hemos salido un poco decepcionados.

Fuimos porque estaba muy bien decorado, pero la comida pésima, las croquetas de jamón no tenían jamón solo bechamel, el solomillo de bajísima calidad y la camillera… mejor ni hablar, estaba pésimo todo, si buscáis calidad no vengáis aquí porque aparte de caro la comida está mala. Y la espera a que te traigan la comida de 35 minutos de reloj.

Recommended by our hotel concierge for good seafood and tapas, unfortunately our experience is far from satisfactory. We did not made reservation and decided to visit the restaurant at 9pm. We were received shortly and brought to the table with menu. With quite a long wait, our server took our orders. They offered the complimentary olives appetizers and we did not want since they could be salty. The restaurant manager with black uniform did not seem to be happy that we did not want the olives. It’s quite interesting that they said the olives are complementary but charged for the two buns. We ordered sirloin steak and lobster and monkfish paella. The sirloin steak arrived first. Upon the first bite we noticed the French fries were warm and soft (not crispy). We asked for medium rare for the steak and it delivered. However the steak was also lukewarm and no searing in the surface. Upon checking with the server he offered to redo it. We appreciate the good gesture. The lobster and monkfish paella then arrived. We can taste the seafood taste with the paella rice. I noticed a long string of stuff on my plate and upon tasting it, it is PLASTIC. Not sure how the long plastic got in our paella. We showed to the server who brought my plate to the manager. They were very apologetic on the situation and offered to redo the paella. As it’s already quite late and we were quite hungry, redoing it would take too long. They offered not to charge for the paella. The re-ordered sirloin steak arrived. The French fries tasted slightly hotter and had some crisp. Unfortunately they definitely are not as good as French fries from MacDonald‘s. With respect to the steak, the cook for medium rare is right, however still not sure how they can cook the steak without proper searing to create a crust on the surface. One of our water glass is cracked. We notify the restaurant but they did not even apologize for this. Everything went wrong together. Horrible dining experience. I would share this feedback with our hotel concierge and would not recommend this restaurant. Definitely not planning to come back. The food is only one star and the extra star is the attempted effort for the server in trying to make things right.

Pésimo . Tengo que decir que me decepcionó , no entiendo como teniendo el local que tienen , en la zona que está ubicado y las posibilidades para triunfar , sean tan malos para no hacerlo . Ya nos extrañó que pudiéramos reservar con tanta facilidad , pero realmente me preocupó una vez que llegamos y teniendo 3 plantas repletas de mesas , solamente hubiese ocupadas 6-7 de éstas , en pleno 6 de Diciembre, a las 21:30 de la noche , junto a la Puerta del Sol . Repito , muy malo tienes que ser . Tengo que decir que los camareros se salvan , la chica y sobre todo el chico alto que nos atendió , chapó, aguantó el tipo estoicamente a nuestros comentarios de incredulidad. Digo esto por las siguientes imágenes que muestro …. La primera se trata de una ración de croquetas mixtas , es decir , jamón y queso manchego , pero nada de esos dos , podréis comprobar que las croquetas están hechas únicamente de “bechamel”, la típica masa de las mismas . Y el colofón fué la “parrillada” de solomillo y secreto con salsa de piña , donde podéis comprobar en la segunda foto , tanto el tamaño como la piña en almíbar que añadieron de cualquier bote , por no hablar del sabor de la carne , que me parecía que llevaba algunos días esperando a ser cocinada. Pero aún más, tengo un hijo alérgico (19 años), no es ningún niño y os puedo asegurar que llevamos mucho tiempo saliendo a comer por muchos sitios y ninguno que ha puesto nunca ningún problema si le tienen que hacer algo especial , hubo un momento, que tras dudarlo , finalmente accedieron por no perder la mesa y que nos fuésemos . Vuelo a repetir que el servicio se salva , pero lo siento , no me vuelven a engañar más .

Una vergüenza de sitio. Hemos reservado a las 14:30 y nos vamos a las 17:00. El servicio no puede ser peor. Un restaurante enorme y con decoración Disney, que no merece la pena y deja fatal la imagen de Madrid a cualquier turista. La comida discreta y el precio acorde con la comida, pero no con el servicio. Con los millones de sitios que hay en Madrid, no me explico como subsiste. Es obvio que es porque tienen acuerdos con grupos de turismo para comer, si no, no estarían abiertos. Una pena

Por el bien de la humanidad espero que este restaurante deje de "preparar" comida o al menos deje de hacerlo tan mal, no he probado peor comida que en este bar en todo Madrid, de verdad, es inexplicable, pedí tiras de pollo con mostaza y miel, no sabe a absolutamente nada, y se notaba que era guardado, también pedí salmón y tampoco sabía a absolutamente nada, no se si en este restaurante saben que existen especias pero desde luego puedo asegurar que no las utilizan, un desastre total, la peor comida que he probado en mi vida en todo Madrid, de hecho ni siquiera nos terminamos la comida. POR FAVOR, SI VIVES EN MADRID O ESPAÑA NO VENGAS A ESTE BAR, es solo para timar a los turistas, es una auténtica vergüenza, no se le debería ni llamar comida.

Fuimos a comer el fin de semana y la verdad que no volveríamos jamás . Fuimos a las 13 horas ha reservar una mesa para siete personas y nos salto la camarera que no hacían reservas que según llegabas esperas la cola y ellos te decían . Para colmo, vamos a las 14 horas y esperando la cola , la gente que estaba delante de nosotros tenían reserva . A nosotros nos dijeron que no hacían reservas . Cuando nos toca nos dicen que tenemos que bajar a la planta de abajo y les decimos que si puede ser en el comedor que se encuentra en la misma planta y nos dice que no . Tenemos que bajar por unas escaleras súper estrechas al comedor inferior . Durante la comida , la camarera servía muy lento y los platos todos fríos y la comida muy mala. Destacar que cada vez que abrían la puerta del baño entraba olor a pis en el comedor . No recomiendo a nadie que venga a comer aquí .
