We were here once ln winter time and once in summer time. Great atmosphere, good food and friendly prices.

Buena relación calidad precio. Buen servicio. Las fococias muy bien. Los huevos con jamón y patatas con demasiadas patatas y poco jamón. La tabla de quesos muy bien y el vino con muy buena relación calidad precio. Falta un poco de limpieza.

Mesas agradables afuera, la atención fue muy amable, comida sabrosa en general, huevos rotos pueden mejorar. El vermut buenísimo! Muy muy rico

Un buen sitio para picar algo antes o después del cine o teatro que están justo al lado. En pleno centro, al lado de huertas, sol, la latina. Sitio de paso con tapas ricas. No son grandes. Un tamaño más bien pequeño en general aunq los huevos rotos con jamón están bien en ambos sentidos, tamaño y elaboración normales, por situación el precio no es tan elevado como otros similares y cercanos. Las mesas son barriles altos con taburetes, Estan pegados unos con otros sin separación alguna. Hasta tal punto que es difícil no estar constantemente rozandote con los de la mesa de al lado. Por todo esto no es un lugar donde comer o cenar tranquilamente si no mas bien para hacer tiempo o estar de paso, como decía antes. Tienen raciones variadas y tostas.Son correctos y te atienden rápido.

Rapidez en el servicio y propuestas clásicas para degustar. El jamón ibérico muy fino. El personal de diez.

Venía mucho por este local cuando vivía en el centro; ahora voy menos, pero sigo frecuentándolo cuando salimos por la zona porque sabes que no se van a pasar. No es la mejor comida que vas a probar, pero, partiendo de esa base, creo que tienen una carta bastante apetecible y con precios competitivos para su ubicación, a dos pasos de la Plaza Mayor: papelones de chacina (es una delicia encontrar chicharrones en Madrid), un buen surtido de quesos, patatas mozárabes, foccacias de diferentes tipos... Todo bastante bien, incluidos los desayunos, que no es fácil encontrar desayunos andaluces en la capital. El gerente es un encanto de persona, siempre nos trata muy bien. Para tomar unas cervezas y unas raciones en plan grupo, es un sitio perfecto si vas por el centro.

Today we czme back for lunch again, and what a major letdown. Today, we decided to order the Patatas Bravas. Based on the picture from the menu we got something different. The sauce in the picture was pink, but the sauce over the potatoes was a deep red. It was fried potatoes covered in ketchup. That was not what I was expecting, and it didn't taste good at all. We also ordered the same Bocadillo Jamon Iberico sandwich that we ordered yesterday. Same menu item, and two completely different sandwiches. Yesterday's sandwich was heated up and had no tomatoes. Today's sandwich had tomatoes and was not heated up. If today was my wife and I's first time to this Taberna we wouldn't have made the decision to come back for lunch today. My review is based on the two visits as a whole not based on the second day only. This is a cool and laid back Taberna. The vibe was cool because it felt like old style taberna meets modern yet classic food. The Bocadillo Jamon Iberico was extremely delicious especially dince it was heated up. The roll was warm yet soft on the inside and just the right amount of crunch on the outside. The Jamon Iberico took on a whole new flavor when heated up. The Jamon had this amazing flavor which was mind blowing. Meaty, smooth and melt in your mouth experience that was a pleasant surprise. The fat was glistening and it tasted that much better heated up. The Spanish Croquettes had a very smooth interior and lightly crunchy exterior. They tasted delicious.

I went there as it was next to my hotel. First the food was served warm. I ordered a cod in tomato sauce and brie cheese and cured ham sandwich. I ordered a small portion and it perfectly fit my portion. The price was also cheap only 13 euro altogether. I had a great time having this meal and highly recommended for those who wanted a quick bite or meal on budget.

La comida estaba buena y cantidad decente. Había un chico con una cogorza tremenda durmiendo en una mesa alta con una cerveza delante, luego despertó y recogió unas cervezas de una repisa y las puso en su mesa y siguió con su cabezada

Un sitio bueno para tomar algo rápido, aunque tardan un pelín en atender.

Taberna a la antigua, ubicación central, comida cara para lo que es, un abuso mix de bellota, la cerveza Aguila o como se llamara estaba mejor, excelente atención de las garzonas pero lastima que había un peruano tomando (sentado en una pipa central ) a destajo y gritando que creaba un mal ambiente, parece que era amigo de la gente que trabajaba en la taverna porque nadie le dijo nada, ya era tarde y había que irse al Hotel a escasos metros…

El sitio está bien y las cosas tienen buena pinta. No me ha gustado que a todas las mesas le pusieran frutos secos o cosas con las bebidas y a nosotros no. Las tostas son variadas y muy ricas. Para mí lo peor es que está al lado de un comedor social y algunas veces están en la puerta y te piden dinero y algunos también entran.

Needed a quick bite before a show at Cine Ideal (same block/corner). Service was pretty low which is common for Madrid, especially near the center. (Myself and folks around me had to flag the waitress several times or just go up to the counter to request what was needed.) Food was good, but wasn’t exactly what I ordered. Their featured beer is Estrella Damm which is always a solid choice. Go for a quick bite, but don’t expect to be amazed. // ES // visited 9/2/19

Very poor food, we ordered calamari, croquets, and toast with jamon. Calamari we couldn't eat because they were so sinewy (tough to chew). Croquets and toast were nothing special. And price was very high for such poor quality.

Popped in for a pre-cinema drink. Service was pretty bad - the person that tended to us didn't know the basics about their beer, and the other couldn't pour one to save his life, so we stuck to a coffee which was fine. It's a shame that somewhere like this can't get the basics right and provide service with a smile. They're missing a trick!

De todos los sitios en el centro , este es el peor. Mejor tomarse una cerveza tibia a todo sol ! . Mala atención, música horrible y carísimo

Una estrella por qué no puedo poner menos. Fuimos un domingo a desayunar y pedimos la tostada de dos panes con jamón ibérico. Cuando llegó, solo había jamón en una de las tostadas. Me acerqué a la que nos atendía y me trató con una falta de respeto de hoja de reclamaciones. A mi pregunta de por qué ponían así el plato si yo estoy pagando por una tostada con dos trozos de pan y de jamón, me dijo que era así, que tendría que haber preguntado de si tenía jamón en ambas tostadas. Evidentemente, a eso le contesté que lo normal es que si pides una tostada entera con jamón, el jamón venga en ambas. Me dijo que eso sería para mí de donde yo venía, que allí no. A eso le contesté que no me parecía bien, y me dijo que no me preocupara, que le diría a su jefe que lo pusiera en la carta en un ladito pequeño para que la gente como yo no nos quejáramos, con ironía y riéndose de mí. Si fuera mi restaurante, esa mujer estaría despedida ipso facto. En mi vida me han tratado de esta forma. Falta de respeto y mala educación. No sé su nombre, pero era bajita y estaba trabajando el domingo 16 de noviembre a las 11 de la mañana, encargada de la atención a las mesas.

Este sábado salimos del cine con ganas de picar algo; se apreciaba un local espacioso y sin agobios, así que decidimos entrar. 3 minutos sentados en la contrabarra y ninguno de los numerosos camareros del local se nos acercó: llegamos a pensar que había que pedir en la barra y tratamos de preguntar a 2 de ellos sin éxito. Vemos una mesa libre y procedemos a sentarnos con la esperanza de que nos atiendan: "perdona, por favor", "¿te importa tomarnos nota?", "¿sería tan amable?"...tras varios intentos (y 5 minutos sentados en incómodas sillas de tijera) desistimos al comprobar como 2 de ellos recogían la mesa de al lado y un tercero supervisaba la operación sin hacernos caso.

Vinimos a cenar y salimos con un curso intensivo de improvisación. Croquetas quemadas y comandas mal tomadas varias veces. Una puede pasar. Cuatro ya es método. El mejor momento fue con la cerveza: se pidió una normal, trajeron una doble y, como era “demasiado grande”, la solución fue dividirla en dos vasos pequeños. Éramos tres personas, pero una se quedó sin bebida porque, técnicamente, ya habían servido tres. (¿Sería ese el razonamiento? Nunca lo sabremos) Lógica imbatible. Las fotos van por un lado, los platos por otro, el pan aparece solo por cumplir… Eso sí, las aceitunas espectaculares. Si alguien sabe la marca, que la comparta, porque fue lo más memorable del local. Ahh y si se cae una vaso a los de al lado que lo recojan no dejen el charco ahí, que no había tanta gente.

Fuimos con intención de comer, pero la experiencia fue pésima desde el primer minuto. El camarero que nos atendió tuvo muy malas formas y ni siquiera nos dio la oportunidad de pedir. El trato fue tan desagradable que nos vimos obligados a irnos a otro sitio aun teniendo ganas de quedarnos a comer. No puedo opinar sobre la comida porque, sinceramente, el mal servicio nos hizo perder todas las ganas. Muy decepcionante.

La comida sin sabor, bocata de calamares con sabor solo a la mayonesa y el limón, y huevos rotos sin sabor y patatas fritas de bolsa. Tambien muchísimo ruido, imposible hablar dentro.

Pedimos unas patatas con alioli y un tomate con caballa y la verdad es que la comida malísima. Los camareros muy amables. Para tomar una cerveza bien pero para comer cero recomendable.

Service is terrible. Spoons were dirty. Croquettas were the worst I’ve ever had. Additionally, they show them served with fries but they serve them with chips. And they show eight and serve six. When we pointed it out the waitress said the menu is in error. Arroz negro shown with calamari but served with shrimp. Just stay away.

Ordered breakfast, Food was cold, service was below average (1 member of the party did not even have an order taken!). Was on a busy Sunday morning but still I would have expected better.

The "full breakfast" wasn't worth the price. For 10€ you could eat somewhere else much better. Also the waiter didn't speak any english... We ordered the great breakfast for 12e, but at the end we got one for 10e... We didn't want to argue so we just ate what we got, but it would be 100% better if we would prepare it at hostel on our own. Also the coffee wasn't good. I would not return. Ever.

Absolutely the worst restaurant in Spain. Horrible quality food. We wanted to go to this place with the beautiful meat platter they posted outside on their sign and their menu however what showed up was absolutely horrible. The worst cuts of meats ever and didn’t look anything like the picture. The only thing somewhat eatable on the platter was the fries. For $30 and the meat was meat scraps and all fat. It was two long pieces of pork fat and steak was 2 small fat chunks and 1 1/2 dry chicken breasts. Plus the service was very poor and the restaurant had no customer. Don’t come here unless you want to be disappointed. Horrible experience and we left all the food.See the photos of what we got versus the menu photo.
