Everything here was absolutely exceptional, I’m Spanish and have had a lot of traditional Spanish food but this was some of the very best. The servers were attentive and super friendly, it was a reasonable price for what it was,the menu was a decent size, the place was clean and well decorated as well as being in a great location,and all of the food was absolutely wonderful with no exceptions. It is clear that there is real passion and care for what they do here and it shows in everything they do. If I had to nitpick, the menu was not well translated into English as it’s not on the tourist trail- still perfectly understandable mind- and they took a little time to bring us the bill, other than that it was amazing and I would strongly recommend this place to anybody.

We had lunch here today and absolutely loved it. The food was delicious, the service was very welcoming, and the restaurant wasn’t too crowded, which made the experience even better. The starter Tomato & Tuna and the Tarta de Queso for dessert was excellent. Highly recommended!

We got here right when it opened (1pm), no reservation and no wait. We ordered gambas al ajillo, cochinillo (roast suckling pig), grilled ox sirloin and grilled veggies. All dishes were exceptional and we’re very happy to have tried this restaurant in place of Botin.

I made the reservation as soon as I stepped in I knew I was going to have a good meal .But the service and food were top notch . They totally surpassed my expectation. We really enjoyed our lunch here. While we initially came for the food, but the moment we stepped into the shop we felt so welcomed. The staff were very friendly with us despite there was some language barrier. Food was amazing, we had a pleasant lunch and we left the restaurant well fed and happy.

My wife and I went to El Senador for a dinner and we were blown away as much by the simplicity of the food as by its great taste. This place is in its own league. The service was simple, people friendly and wine was excellent. The only logical outcome were our empty plates. We are strongly recommending this restaurant to all meat lovers. You will not be dissapointed.

Tried this place after hearing good things, and overall, it was a good experience. The food was tasty, and the service was friendly, but nothing really stood out as exceptional. It’s a solid spot for a meal, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back. Worth trying if you’re in the area!

There is a Spanish only menu with a bit more options. The service was outstanding and fast. The breads that came with the sausages are additional charge. So if you don't want, you need to ask to send them back. I knew they charge and the sausages were delicious. 5/5 Callos 4/5. The callos was so rich. I would need to dip with bread. It was too rich to be eaten alone. I'm not sure how to eat this stew by itself. Salmon croquettes 4/5. The croquettes were super cheesy so it really depends on your taste. The meal was so full and was intended to be shared. At the end, the restaurant gave us free coffee shot. It was the first time some restaurant in Madrid even gave out something free. The restaurant itself was quiet and we went, there were many empty tables.

Super delicious roasted pig and grill lamb. Pig is crispy and so soft inside, the sauce is perfect. Iamb is really soft no smell and tomato salad is amazing!

Most amazing meal I’ve had in Madrid. The hospitality of the staff was superb. Friendly, fun, attentive and professional. I had their signature suckling pig. Literally so tender they cut it with a plate. It wasn’t very busy but it is away from the usual tourist spots but it made for an amazing experience to enjoy the meal. Service was very quick as well. Highly recommend visiting.

Muy tradicional aunque me parecen precios altos. Es extraña la combinación turista y muy local. El maestro asador Angel es gran anfitrion y en general el servicio es muy bueno, aunque insisto que el precio de los alimentos me parecen elevado para el tipo de eatablecimiento. Tengo la impresión que es de esos lugares a los que siguen yendo clientes de hace mucho tiempo y no atraen nuevos clientes locales (seguramente por precio) y por eso requieren mas turistas.

Un gran restaurante. Toda una historia a sus espaldas. Personal muy profesional y amable. Buena comida y buen ambiente. Algo caro. Lo recomiendo.

¡Todo delicioso! El cordero viene sin guarnición, pero hemos pedido una ensalada para acompañarlo y la degustación ha sido más agradable. El vino de la casa es una opción perfecta. Servicio rápido y amable.

La decoración es muy interesante y linda, consta con dos sectores, una del bar y otra del restaurante. Los precios son un poco elevados pero justos con respecto a la calidad. Los mozos son muy amables y alegres. Tienen buena variedad de bebidas

Great service, central location and good atmosphere. The tuna stuffed tomatoes were amazing, salad is standard. Suckling pork was very tender with crispy skin. It is quite rich though so recommend sharing. The lamb was a bit dry and lacked flavor. Both were a bit gamy so may not suit some tastes. Overall a decent experience but would only go back for the stuffed tomatoes!

Localización perfecta en un lugar enclave increíble en el centro de madrid. Difícil aparcar. Bien atendido con un producto de asados muy bueno en un restaurante que le falta un poco de cariño a nivel decoración para volver a ser el de antes.

Restaurante céntrico situado frente al senado. Pedí de primero un plato de jamón de bellota,bastante seco y grueso (era la parte final del mismo). De segundo cochinillo.Estaba muy bueno,crujiente y jugoso por dentro. De postre tejas con helado de mango,correcto. Pan bueno,café muy mejorable. Detalle de chupito final tras el café. Al ir solo me colocaron en una mesa pegada al armario de cubiertos donde acudían los camareros durante toda la comida y muy cerca de la mesa contigua.Bastante incómodo. Salí por 122€ con un vino de 30. En general la comida normalita,pero el cochinillo muy bueno si es tu objetivo.

La comida está buena, pero los platos son caros y algo pequeños para el precio, a destacar unas pocas habitas de bote por casi 20 euros no lo merece. Las chuletillas solo 5, lo habitual es 6. El resto bien aunque subido de precio. Solo una cerveza por cabeza, postre y primero compartido más de 50, sin café ni licor.

We had the suckling pig and lamb. The meat was tender and the pig had a crispy skin. However prices were quite high in my opinion. The sauce was very salt, and only a few cooked potatos were served. Bread and a small saucage as appiter for 2,90 per person. No choice of wine by the glass. The service was a bit chaotic. The free small cocktail for desert was nice. Overall bit to expensive for wgat you get.

Reserved a table for 2 on a Friday and were seated nicely on a corner. Great atmosphere, popular with groups and large families. Good service was a bit lacking, almost even charged us twice. Good wine pairing tho. The food was OK. The portions were good, but my critique is more the price. This is so far the most expensive dinner we've had in Madrid... and for what, roasted meat? To be honest I did not find the meat dishes overly special for the price. The stuffed tomato with tuna puree was good, but not for that price. Anyway, maybe it's because we've had tapas elsewhere before coming here that made me extra critical.

DO NOT GO HERE, it is a tourist trap!!! Worst experience I’ve had at any restaurant. They are scam artists. 1. They force upon you food that you didn’t ask for and are forced to pay for. 2. The service is terrible and most of the waitstaff are condescending and rude, and pushy. I asked for free tap water several times and they lied and said they only have bottled water I had to pay for, which is ILLEGAL and I will be reporting them for. 3. They overcharged us for the wrong meals after we waited an hour to receive our check and had to ask for it over three times. 4. The staff were rude and mocked us after our fourth time of asking for the check after over 30 minutes of waiting! 5. They gave us a different menu than the prices online. I suspect they have a separate menu only for tourists so they can charge more. DO NOT GO HERE. It isn’t as good as they say, and it really ruined part of our trip to Madrid.

VERY BAD SERVICES. One of the waiter treated us with very rude and bad attitude when we did not order dessert/drinks after our meals. Feeling offended, please dont go to this restaurant!!! Food is quite delicious but definitely not worth the price.
