Es la quinta vez que repito. Y siempre salgo encantado. Alta cocina en un espacio singular que nunca decepciona. Como ya he probado muchos platos, por ahora mi favorito son Las Mollejas,el chillo crab ibérico, y el brisket de ternera. Y las salsas de las vieiras es espectacular. Muy muy recomendable.

Llegamos sin reserva y para nuestra suerte solo tuvimos que esperar como 5mins, el camarero muy amable nos dijo que ya una mesa se desocupaba y nos dejó entrar sin problemas. El ambiente es muy íntimo pero con un cierto carisma. El menú nos sorprendió porque cada opción sonaba mejor que la anterior, al final nos decidimos por unas entradas de vieras y bacalao que estaban espectaculares. Fueron explosiones de sabores en cada bocado y se notaba el cariño y dedicación en la preparación de cada plato. Adicionalmente pedimos un risotto de gambas y calabacín y un arroz meloso de pulpo y alcachofas que estaban deliciosos pero que no nos pudimos terminar. Creo que si nos emocionamos y pedimos más comida de la que podíamos comer. Pero en general la experiencia fue muy grata. Lo único por mejorar es que si pedimos agua y vino y tardaron bastante en traérnoslo y si no revisamos la botella de vino que tenían guardada en la cocina no nos la terminamos sin decirnos nada. También pedimos un café al final y creemos que se les olvidó pero no nos lo cobraron. Son detalles que esperamos que se mejoren pero que no afectaron en general la experiencia, nos encantaría regresar a probar más platillos.

Comimos muy, muy bien. Las almejas estaban espectaculares. ... y el postre también, la galleta de chocolate. Pero la col asada también estaba muy rica y la carne... y los pimientos de cortesía. El servicio es excelente. El lugar es realmente muy pequeño (20 comensales) por lo que recomiendo reservar.

Ya he tenido el placer de ir dos veces y solo puedo recomendarlo. El lugar es pequeñito por lo que es muy recomendable reservar con tiempo. El servicio y atención es muy bueno, siempre atentos y pendientes a lo que puedas necesitar. Respecto a la comida, todo está buenísimo. Se nota que se hace con mimo y que los platos no solo tienen la intención de estar ricos, si no de sorprenderte. En especial (para mí) el arroz a la asturiana, que si te gusta un arroz con sabor algo fuerte, es increíble. Las croquetas son increíbles así como la carrillera. Los postres también están buenos aunque no es lo más destacable del sitio. Volveré una tercera!

En el Barrio de la letras este pequeñito restaurante reformado el año pasado, que lleva muchísimos años dando bien de comer, con una muy buena atención, en sus 8-9 mesas, muy juntas, con Pablo al mando y pendiente de todo, es como ir a comer a casa de un familiar, trato exquisito. Muy buena mano en cocina, y buen servicio de sala. Probamos menú degustación. Una pena que sea tan pequeño, pero quizás ahí está su encanto. Imprescindible reservar

Fuimos a cenar 4 personas y los 4 nos fuimos encantados con la experiencia. La comida riquísima y original, respetando la materia prima pero ofreciendo un toque de innovación muy de agradecer, el servicio impecable y el ambiente acogedor a más no poder. El barrio de las letras necesita locales así, que dignifiquen la zona y la hostelería madrileña para ofrecer calidad tanto a los que vivimos aquí como al turismo. Un lugar muy muy recomendable. La sala, pequeñita es muy agradable e íntima. El servicio fabuloso, súper atentos y amables. Pedimos el menú degustación y todo estaba bueno y muy bien de cantidades - por lo que suele ser en otros lugares. Precio también muy razonable. Lo recomendamos cien x cien :)

Es verdad que Madrid tiene una oferta gastronómica cada vez de mayor nivel. Pero encontrar un lugar donde cuidan tanto la materia prima llevándola a platos simplemente deliciosos; donde la calidad precio sea más que razonable y donde el equipo que te atiende cuide hasta el ultimo detalle, es algo excepcional. Y en la Malontina lo consiguen gracias a la mano del maravilloso Pablo, chef y autor, con su saber culinario pero sobre con su parte personal simplemente extraordinaria. Gracias por hacer de una cena un momento simplemente inolvidable!!

Chose this place for cousin’s birthday lunch and it did not disappoint! Loved the service which was really warm and attentive with the waiter who spoke English. He also gave us complimentary cava for the birthday. We had the excellent croquettes and the spicy scallops were amazing. Really liked the prawn risotto and the duck lasagna too. We came here after our visit to the Prado Museum and we’re so happy we did! First, the owner was super welcoming, which made the experience even better. The food was also so good, and had very different flavours. We ordered the Iberian chili crab, side salad (delicious), shrimp pasta (homemade pasta - so good), and the beef tenderloin (a bit overcooked). I’d highly recommend this restaurant, as there’s a lot on the menu to choose from, different flavours, and great service.

this was a real surprise we looked on Google for a restaurant that met my criteria not far from the hotel. We were staying in and good reviews. It met my criteria completely. We walked in 7:30 most people don’t eat till later . We were the only people there More people came as the evening progress we started out with a glass of white wine if you want bread they charge you €2.40 the thing I like is that you have the option of taking it or not we also had for an appetizer artichokes with hummus. I must say it was delicious. We had the brisket which the presentation was as good as a taste. I had the monk fish . It was delicious. It came with potatoes, which were really good really garlic and then we tried their famous carrot cake which they gave it a high review on the menu and I’m gonna give it a high review when eating it. Mario Jose the waiter was excellent. He spoke English fairly well and could explain the menu to us, which was really important. This is definitely if you’re in the area or not a place that you should try in Madrid off the beaten path, which is always intriguing to me

Very good food and very good service. Simple dishes that taste like home. The staff is very nice and service is fast. Many choices for all appetizers and mains, couldn’t have dessert, the portions were quite big. Was offered a cod spread as a starter surprise which went well with the sourdough toast. The mussels were delicious and so was the monkfish. Had a glass of Albariño which was fresh and so good with the seafood! Make sure you book in advance there are only 7 tables. 😉 My table had a city view which was great.

La Malontina is a beautiful Spanish restaurant we visited for lunch on our trip to Madrid. The place is cozy, charming with a bistro aesthetic. Reservations are strongly recommended. The service is absolutely top notch. Our waiter was so kind. We had some great conversations and he shared some of the history of the restaurant with us. A few items on the menu pay homage to other dishes the chef was inspired by, including one, the red prawn pasta, which was originally served by an older lady who owned the restaurant which La Malontina. The chef even came by the table to say hello and ask how the food was - everyone was friendly! The food was absolutely delicious! The starters like the Russian salad and anchovy starter were wonderfully fresh. The special, clams in green sauce, was seriously amazing. The sauce was simple but beautiful. The Singaporean chili pig ear was inspired by Singaporean chili soft shell crab, and the sauce was near identical to that, but with the texture of pig’s ear which was so creative and well orchestrated. Finally, the red prawn pasta was dramatically served with the waiter mixing it table-side (see video). Overall, this was an excellent dining experience! The food, service and ambiance were all wonderful. They serve a really creative blend of global fusion with a Spanish twist. We would definitely come back the next time we are in Madrid!

I reserved this hotel based on a reddit recommendation, and I was NOT disappointed! To be honest I was a little confused when I found the place with such high praise to be very small and unassuming. When we entered I was even more confused as we were the only people, but when we sat and the food started to come I knew why it had such raving reviews! Squid: very good. Well cooked and not chewy. The hummus was excellent and full of garlic flavour. Really nice! Octopus: Some of the best octopus in Madrid cooking-wise. Perfectly-cooked! The guacamole was really good, but the mashed potatoes were okay. Cod: the star of the show, and the main reason I wrote this review. The potatoes with it are the best I have ever eaten probably. The cod itself was creamy and light. Amazing plate! Thank you, la Malontina, for such a great experience!

A very small restaurant with eight small tables inside. We ordered octopus and chestnut stew and beef brisket for main. They are definitely not bad, but a bit too salty for us. And the brisket is harder than expected. Also, the fishy taste of octopus is prominent. Maybe grilled octopus would be better.

Y 3 personas en silla, con todos los abrigos en ellas, porque no había hueco donde dejarlos. Para mi fue inexplicable, ansia de querer servir más mesas de las que deberían, supongo. Vimos otra mesa que estaba también parecida a nosotros. Teníamos una reserva para 8, que finalmente se convertió en 7, o quitaron una mesa para atender a 2 personas más, o no sé cómo habríamos cabido 8. (Eso sí, nos cobraron 8 servicios) La comida, alguna cosa muy rica, la verdad, algunas otras más normales. El vino, lo tenían se lo tenían que llevar y pedirlo para que nos sirvieran, por falta de enfriador y/o espacio. Los camareros, torpes al servirlo, no puede ser que sirviendo 4 copas, pongas 3 más que generosas, y al último le llegue un culin. Nos trajeron la cuenta sin pedirla, después de 1h30m de servicio, sin haber otro turno después. Tenía apuntado el sitio para venir, ahora está apuntado para no repetir ni recomendar.

Disappointing and overpriced. The menu offers nothing memorable, and the plain décor does not justify the high prices. We were two people; one ordered a starter, the other did not — yet the starter arrived together with a main course. Very odd service. For the main course, we ordered the aged beef (€27). We could barely find the beef — just a few small slices drowned in an extremely salty marinade, making it impossible to taste the meat’s quality. The plate was loaded with onions and mushrooms instead. Overall, far from worth the price. I would not recommend this place.
